in_o the_o scripture_n and_o have_v choose_v to_o wave_v speak_v to_o other_o thing_n as_o intermission_n desertion_n etc._n etc._n which_o our_o text_n do_v not_o at_o all_o lead_v we_o nor_o hint_n we_o to_o take_v notice_n of_o i_o shall_v shut_v up_o all_o with_o the_o application_n proper_a to_o this_o subject_a which_o speak_v first_o to_o the_o little_a child_n to_o prepare_v for_o this_o and_o so_o make_v way_n for_o the_o young_a man_n triumph_n chap._n x._o the_o token_n and_o sign_n of_o the_o victory_n perhaps_o some_o will_v be_v apt_a to_o say_v that_o this_o be_v but_o a_o romantic_a story_n a_o kind_n of_o knight-errantry_a it_o be_v but_o for_o talk_v and_o discourse_n where_o be_v the_o erect_a pillar_n and_o the_o trophy_n of_o honour_n that_o shall_v witness_v the_o victory_n where_o be_v goliahs_n sword_n and_o head_n where_o be_v the_o spoil_n and_o the_o booty_n the_o sign_n of_o their_o victory_n but_o hear_v you_o despiser_n and_o wonder_n for_o we_o have_v not_o bring_v to_o you_o a_o fiction_n or_o a_o cunning_o devise_v fable_n but_o word_n of_o truth_n and_o power_n as_o shall_v be_v yet_o further_o evince_v and_o see_v we_o have_v former_o parallel_v the_o temptation_n which_o christ_n do_v and_o these_o young_a man_n also_o do_v undergo_v and_o conquer_v after_o the_o witness_n of_o the_o spirit_n receive_v we_o shall_v now_o parallel_v the_o sign_n and_o token_n of_o their_o respective_a victory_n when_o our_o saviour_n be_v tempt_v and_o the_o devil_n thrust_v put_v by_o and_o his_o argument_n defeat_v he_o whole_o wave_v the_o assume_v of_o it_o and_o shift_v his_o ground_n as_o not_o able_a to_o stand_v upon_o it_o nor_o to_o it_o which_o be_v one_o sign_n of_o his_o be_v so_o far_o conquer_v he_o attempt_v the_o second_o time_n another_o way_n but_o with_o no_o better_a success_n and_o therefore_o sound_v a_o parley_n and_o come_v to_o treat_v which_o be_v another_o sign_n that_o his_o force_n fail_v witness_n they_o as_o our_o saviour_n do_v go_v about_o their_o work_n and_o employment_n finish_v that_o as_o he_o do_v which_o the_o father_n have_v give_v they_o to_o do_v and_o so_o glorify_v he_o on_o earth_n the_o very_a angel_n become_v minister_a spirit_n to_o they_o heb._n 1._o ult_n they_o have_v their_o journal_o to_o show_v how_o and_o where_o they_o conquer_v his_o break_a weapon_n and_o defeat_a argument_n they_o carry_v away_o as_o spoil_n and_o come_v out_o of_o the_o battle_n enrich_v with_o experience_n which_o with_o their_o prayer_n to_o god_n for_o they_o they_o distribute_v as_o so_o many_o gift_n unto_o their_o brethren_n as_o paul_n do_v 2_o cor._n 1.4_o 6._o and_o these_o be_v no_o small_a sign_n of_o their_o hitherto_o victory_n no_o to_o mention_v the_o devil_n flight_n as_o to_o what_o may_v be_v hereafter_o the_o 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d the_o suffering_n which_o attend_v they_o from_o the_o envy_n of_o a_o defeat_a devil_n these_o also_o they_o overcome_v by_o not_o love_v their_o life_n but_o be_v faithful_a to_o the_o death_n rev._n 12.11_o and_o 2.10_o none_o of_o these_o thing_n move_v they_o act_v 20.23_o 24._o for_o in_o as_o well_o as_o after_o these_o thing_n they_o be_v more_o than_o conqueror_n rom._n 8.36_o 37._o they_o be_v of_o so_o great_a and_o noble_a soul_n and_o spirit_n that_o they_o accept_v not_o deliverance_n but_o expect_v and_o shall_v obtain_v a_o better_a resurrection_n heb._n 11.35_o and_o this_o perseverance_n to_o the_o end_n be_v often_o call_v overcome_v in_o the_o epistle_n to_o the_o seven_o church_n i_o now_o go_v on_o to_o show_v the_o conclusion_n of_o the_o whole_a matter_n viz._n the_o issue_n and_o success_n of_o the_o victory_n as_o to_o their_o after_o frame_n and_o conversation_n chap._n xi_o the_o result_n of_o the_o victory_n as_o to_o their_o frame_n and_o conversation_n beside_o what_o flow_v from_o their_o have_v the_o witness_n of_o the_o spirit_n which_o be_v the_o same_o with_o that_o of_o the_o little_a child_n
