divine_a worship_n insomuch_o that_o if_o those_o that_o have_v not_o yet_o embrace_v christianity_n be_v to_o hear_v our_o discourse_n and_o form_n of_o worship_n they_o can_v not_o i_o believe_v but_o think_v that_o a_o great_a part_n of_o christian_n believe_v and_o worship_v more_o god_n than_o one_o and_o even_o enjoin_v such_o a_o faith_n and_o practice_n upon_o pain_n of_o damnation_n owe_v he_o the_o the_o first_o and_o great_a offer_n and_o not_o chief_o because_o we_o be_v happy_a or_o our_o desire_n fill_v in_o so_o do_v the_o high_a love_n i_o mean_v in_o a_o creature_n to_o god_n be_v a_o love_n of_o justice_n a_o duty_n of_o be_v just_a and_o true_a before_o which_o if_o the_o love_n for_o interest_n come_v it_o be_v in_o the_o sight_n of_o god_n a_o unworthy_a and_o impure_a offer_v though_o we_o be_v high_o oblige_v to_o love_n god_n out_o of_o gratitude_n for_o his_o benefit_n yet_o if_o we_o love_v god_n most_o or_o think_v we_o be_v oblige_v to_o love_v he_o most_o because_o we_o receive_v good_a from_o he_o we_o love_v he_o for_o self-sake_n and_o consequent_o love_v self_n best_o though_o it_o be_v not_o best_o which_o be_v the_o very_a root_n of_o evil_n in_o which_o we_o belie_v both_o god_n and_o self_n the_o creature_n comply_v with_o god_n will_n always_o find_v its_o advantage_n and_o so_o also_o be_v bind_v as_o to_o a_o debt_n to_o effect_n with_o whatsoever_o devil_n and_o immortal_a wicked_a man_n may_v be_v able_a to_o inflict_v upon_o one_o another_o and_o the_o most_o uncharitable_a soul_n can_v hardly_o desire_v a_o great_a hell_n for_o his_o great_a enemy_n but_o what_o i_o have_v say_v already_o of_o displeasure_n mere_o mental_a and_o that_o which_o come_v by_o the_o mean_n of_o the_o body_n may_v be_v easy_o apply_v here_o if_o well_o consider_v but_o yet_o far_o methinks_v it_o be_v a_o very_a hard_a thought_n to_o think_v that_o god_n who_o as_o the_o belove_a disciple_n tell_v we_o be_v love_n shall_v hate_v and_o take_v pleasure_n or_o delight_n in_o torment_v his_o poor_a foolish_a frail_a creature_n or_o that_o he_o shall_v afflict_v willing_o or_o from_o his_o heart_n or_o affect_v with_o grief_n the_o child_n of_o man_n and_o that_o for_o ever_o but_o he_o must_v be_v suppose_v either_o to_o do_v it_o willing_o and_o take_v pleasure_n in_o so_o do_v or_o he_o can_v proper_o be_v say_v to_o do_v it_o for_o god_n can_v with_o any_o reason_n be_v say_v to_o do_v any_o thing_n against_o his_o own_o will_n or_o in_o which_o he_o have_v not_o pleasure_n that_o can_v be_v suppose_v of_o a_o perfect_a or_o self_n sufficient_a be_v nor_o can_v any_o action_n of_o the_o creature_n be_v think_v to_o bring_v god_n under_o a_o necessity_n of_o do_v any_o thing_n he_o delight_v not_o in_o and_o he_o swear_v he_o have_v no_o pleasure_n in_o the_o death_n of_o the_o wicked_a ezek._n 33.11_o chap._n 18.32_o it_o be_v the_o sinner_n that_o will_v die_v or_o choose_v death_n he_o seek_v pleasure_n indeed_o but_o he_o have_v it_o not_o because_o he_o seek_v it_o where_o it_o be_v not_o to_o be_v have_v viz._n in_o his_o own_o foolish_a disorderly_a will_n distinct_a from_o god_n will_n when_o god_n can_v give_v it_o he_o that_o way_n it_o be_v impossible_a the_o damn_a doubtless_o be_v exceed_v uneasy_a why_o they_o have_v turn_v from_o god_n the_o fountain_n of_o pleasure_n they_o have_v live_v and_o die_v in_o a_o course_n contrary_n to_o god_n will_n contrary_a to_o the_o only_a possible_a way_n of_o happiness_n and_o god_n be_v just_a in_o suffer_v they_o to_o have_v their_o own_o choice_n in_o leave_v they_o after_o innumerable_a argument_n to_o persuade_v they_o to_o real_a good_a to_o make_v the_o experiment_n how_o happy_a they_o can_v be_v without_o be_v behold_v to_o he_o and_o it_o be_v enough_o to_o show_v that_o god_n approve_v not_o of_o their_o sin_n if_o he_o continue_v their_o be_v his_o work_n under_o the_o great_a misery_n they_o can_v bring_v themselves_o into_o and_o as_o they_o be_v no_o more_o sinful_a than_o they_o themselves_o and_o their_o fellow_n sinner_n can_v make_v they_o so_o if_o they_o have_v no_o more_o misery_n than_o what_o they_o can_v work_v in_o themselves_o and_o one_o another_o it_o will_v be_v proportionable_a to_o their_o sin_n and_o both_o may_v be_v exceed_o great_a god_n can_v be_v think_v to_o work_v or_o cause_n despair_n wrath_n malice_n hate_n and_o envy_n at_o the_o great_a good_a extreme_a discontent_n at_o his_o will_n and_o the_o happiness_n of_o other_o fierce_a furious_a unsatisfied_a desire_n etc._n etc._n in_o his_o creature_n he_o must_v not_o be_v think_v to_o be_v the_o cause_n or_o agent_n of_o those_o sinful_a passion_n they_o be_v all_o against_o his_o will_n as_o he_o have_v clear_o manifest_v and_o we_o can_v suppose_v that_o god_n justice_n require_v that_o sinner_n for_o a_o short_a life_n of_o rebellion_n against_o their_o maker_n in_o this_o world_n shall_v be_v bind_v to_o rebel_v against_o he_o for_o ever_o or_o believe_v that_o they_o can_v satisfy_v for_o some_o sin_n here_o with_o a_o continuance_n of_o all_o sin_n they_o be_v capable_a of_o in_o a_o state_n of_o immortality_n hereafter_o no_o there_o be_v no_o necessity_n of_o unhappiness_n but_o what_o the_o sinner_n own_o perverse_a will_n bring_v upon_o he_o his_o disorderly_a passion_n be_v let_v loose_a and_o to_o what_o extremity_n passion_n may_v be_v carry_v out_o who_o know_v these_o will_v be_v torment_n if_o there_o be_v no_o devil_n able_a to_o vex_v and_o where_o these_o evil_a passion_n be_v in_o their_o extreme_a how_o can_v it_o be_v think_v that_o the_o body_n such_o anxious_a soul_n will_v delight_v in_o can_v be_v other_o than_o the_o occasion_n of_o far_o great_a misery_n than_o they_o be_v capable_a of_o be_v in_o this_o life_n whereinis_fw-la some_o of_o the_o passion_n disorder_v have_v bring_v the_o body_n to_o be_v very_o uneasy_a concomitant_n with_o this_o aggravation_n that_o they_o have_v then_o no_o more_o death_n to_o expect_v to_o rid_v they_o of_o that_o uncomfortable_a companion_n unless_o we_o can_v suppose_v that_o hell_n itself_o have_v at_o least_o this_o happiness_n to_o be_v a_o remedy_n for_o the_o disease_n of_o the_o body_n and_o a_o safeguard_v from_o all_o those_o evil_n sinner_n can_v lay_v upon_o one_o another_o in_o this_o life_n or_o that_o their_o folly_n can_v bring_v god_n under_o a_o necessity_n to_o disow_v his_o well-wrought_a work_n their_o be_v and_o to_o let_v they_o fall_v into_o nothing_o as_o for_o the_o example_n of_o external_a judgement_n as_o they_o be_v call_v which_o we_o have_v especial_o in_o scripture_n wherein_o some_o may_v think_v the_o immediate_a act_n of_o god_n as_o inflict_v be_v always_o require_v when_o they_o be_v more_o than_o prevention_n of_o great_a evil_n the_o person_n will_v have_v run_v into_o they_o may_v easy_o be_v account_v for_o by_o suppose_v man_n sometime_o leave_v to_o the_o power_n of_o the_o devil_n the_o prince_n of_o the_o power_n of_o the_o air_n who_o seem_v eager_o covetous_a to_o enlarge_v the_o dominion_n of_o hell_n or_o to_o do_v any_o kind_n of_o mischief_n of_o this_o we_o have_v a_o example_n in_o job_n or_o that_o god_n sometime_o withdraw_v his_o providential_a hand_n from_o protect_v a_o people_n or_o a_o person_n that_o leave_v he_o and_o suffer_v they_o to_o fall_v into_o the_o hand_n of_o other_o that_o be_v wicked_a their_o enemy_n as_o be_v the_o judgement_n on_o israel_n or_o other_o by_o inimical_a nation_n in_o which_o instance_n we_o can_v suppose_v god_n do_v
