that_o he_o be_v love_v of_o the_o other_o and_o so_o there_o can_v not_o be_v a_o thing_n in_o the_o world_n more_o apt_a to_o draw_v the_o heart_n of_o a_o christian_a to_o love_n god_n then_o to_o consider_v how_o god_n first_o love_v he_o the_o which_o he_o may_v very_o well_o understande_v by_o that_o which_o he_o do_v and_o suffer_v for_o he_o and_o if_o it_o be_v the_o great_a sign_n that_o a_o friend_n can_v show_v of_o that_o love_n he_o bear_v towards_o a_o other_o to_o give_v his_o own_o life_n for_o he_o as_o he_o our_o lord_n himself_o say_v this_o sign_n then_o have_v we_o most_o manifest_o of_o the_o love_n he_o bear_v we_o for_o that_o his_o will_n be_v to_o give_v his_o most_o precious_a life_n for_o we_o or_o rather_o as_o saint_n paul_n conclude_v a_o great_a sign_n can_v stir_v thy_o heart_n to_o pity_n and_o compassion_n the_o three_o manner_n be_v to_o meditate_v by_o way_n of_o compunction_n or_o contrition_n which_o be_v to_o that_o end_n that_o thou_o may_v be_v laudable_a enough_o and_o commend_v in_o the_o holy_a scripture_n as_o it_o appear_v in_o that_o which_o the_o prophet_n jeremie_n in_o person_n of_o our_o lord_n

stand_v spoil_v and_o naked_a with_o so_o great_a shame_n and_o ignominy_n in_o that_o multitude_n of_o people_n behold_v and_o gaze_v upon_o he_o and_o in_o the_o thirst_n and_o dryness_n which_o he_o suffer_v they_o give_v he_o not_o so_o much_o as_o a_o cup_n of_o water_n but_o only_o bitter_a gall_n and_o vinegar_n there_o be_v not_o one_o that_o may_v help_v or_o comfort_v he_o with_o thou_o must_v observe_v be_v after_o this_o sort_n occupy_v in_o thy_o meditation_n upon_o the_o passion_n behold_v the_o pure_a and_o clear_a glass_n in_o the_o which_o thou_o may_v look_v and_o learn_v to_o know_v and_o see_v in_o thyself_o thy_o fault_n deformity_n and_o defect_n and_o then_o compare_v they_o together_o with_o his_o virtue_n and_o perfection_n because_o thou_o shall_v so_o that_o no_o man_n live_a shall_v be_v justify_v before_o god_n now_o if_o the_o just_a shall_v scarce_o be_v save_v as_o saint_n peter_n say_v how_o shall_v the_o sinner_n do_v which_o remember_v also_o for_o all_o they_o that_o trust_v in_o it_o see_v therefore_o how_o great_a hope_n and_o joy_n thou_o may_v receive_v in_o use_v of_o this_o kind_n of_o meditation_n upon_o the_o holy_a touch_v this_o manner_n of_o meditation_n a_o declaration_n of_o the_o eight_o manner_n of_o meditation_n by_o the_o way_n of_o love_n the_o eight_o kind_n and_o sort_n of_o meditation_n upon_o the_o passion_n be_v by_o way_n of_o love_n which_o we_o have_v place_v here_o last_o because_o according_a to_o the_o mind_n of_o saint_n paul_n like_a as_o the_o end_n of_o the_o commandment_n be_v charity_n or_o love_n proceed_v from_o a_o pure_a heart_n so_o also_o the_o principal_a purpose_n and_o end_n of_o meditation_n upon_o this_o holy_a mystery_n and_o other_o be_v that_o the_o soul_n may_v remain_v inflame_v in_o the_o love_n of_o god_n according_a to_o that_o which_o the_o holy_a prophet_n david_n understand_v when_o he_o say_v in_o my_o meditation_n the_o fire_n shall_v be_v disciple_n there_o may_v be_v these_o point_n follow_v to_o meditate_v upon_o 1_o with_o how_o great_a méekenes_n and_o humility_n the_o saviour_n of_o the_o world_n rise_v from_o supper_n wash_v the_o foot_n of_o his_o disciple_n and_o also_o of_o judas_n and_o wipe_v they_o with_o the_o towel_n wherewith_o he_o be_v gird_v 2_o secondary_o consider_v of_o the_o entire_a love_n which_o move_v he_o to_o institute_v that_o high_a sacrament_n in_o the_o which_o he_o give_v his_o disciple_n to_o eat_v his_o most_o sacred_a body_n and_o precious_a blood_n to_o drink_v and_o will_v it_o shall_v
