have_v make_v a_o denial_n or_o have_v she_o but_o know_v christ_n the_o gift_n of_o god_n 10._o john_n 4.9_o 10._o she_o will_v have_v ask_v of_o he_o and_o he_o can_v have_v give_v to_o her_o water_n of_o life_n every_o creature_n be_v for_o its_o element_n stone_n can_v have_v their_o habitation_n in_o the_o air_n no_o more_o than_o star_n dwell_v upon_o the_o earth_n fish_n can_v live_v in_o flame_n nor_o mole_n in_o cloud_n it_o be_v beyond_o the_o sphere_n of_o the_o man_n of_o this_o world_n to_o be_v conversant_a in_o the_o affair_n of_o the_o world_n to_o come_v they_o can_v look_v no_o further_o then_o after_o the_o thing_n of_o this_o world_n their_o knowledgment_n be_v bound_v here_o they_o be_v alien_n and_o stranger_n to_o any_o thing_n beyond_o their_o own_o centre_n they_o be_v of_o the_o earth_n and_o so_o earthly-minded_n their_o knowledge_n study_n and_o endeavour_n tend_v earthward_o there_o be_v their_o complacency_n and_o delight_n the_o natural_a man_n discern_v not_o the_o thing_n that_o be_v of_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n and_o what_o be_v the_o reason_n its_o because_o they_o be_v spiritual_o discern_v his_o light_n his_o knowledge_n his_o discern_a be_v all_o carnal_a tell_v he_o of_o the_o working_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n of_o conversion_n from_o a_o estate_n of_o nature_n to_o a_o estate_n of_o grace_n of_o meet_v with_o god_n in_o a_o duty_n of_o have_v communion_n with_o christ_n of_o the_o saint_n union_n with_o he_o their_o head_n of_o rest_v on_o god_n where_o reason_n and_o mean_n fail_v etc._n etc._n these_o be_v strange_a thing_n to_o he_o they_o be_v mere_a riddle_n to_o he_o but_o now_o speak_v to_o a_o merchant_n or_o shopkeeper_n of_o buy_v sell_v or_o trade_v either_o here_o or_o beyond_o the_o sea_n or_o to_o a_o country_n farmer_n of_o corn_n cattle_n plough_v sow_v or_o any_o thing_n in_o matter_n of_o husbandry_n herein_o now_o they_o be_v expert_a here_o they_o know_v what_o you_o mean_v now_o you_o deal_v with_o they_o in_o their_o own_o element_n herein_o they_o be_v only_o wise_a cunning_a and_o skilful_a merchant_n master_n of_o their_o science_n none_o shall_v overreach_v they_o they_o will_v not_o oversee_v or_o let_v slip_v the_o advancement_n of_o a_o bargain_n for_o want_v of_o experience_n here_o and_o only_o here_o they_o be_v their_o own_o crafts-master_n so_o that_o the_o truth_n be_v these_o man_n come_v into_o this_o world_n and_o so_o go_v out_o they_o make_v not_o their_o return_n to_o heaven_n so_o good_a and_o beneficial_a as_o their_o return_n from_o sea_n to_o land_n indeed_o the_o whole_a scope_n and_o tendency_n of_o their_o life_n be_v circumscribe_v within_o the_o earth_n and_o the_o confine_n thereof_o they_o never_o know_v of_o any_o other_o end_n for_o which_o they_o come_v into_o the_o world_n nor_o never_o will_v look_v after_o or_o expect_v any_o further_a knowledge_n or_o interest_n but_o in_o and_o unto_o this_o present_a be_v and_o so_o remain_v secure_o wise_a until_o they_o drop_v into_o hell_n and_o see_v their_o own_o misery_n and_o their_o neglect_n and_o want_v of_o true_a knowledge_n o_o that_o man_n will_v fear_v
that_o proceed_v out_o of_o the_o mouth_n of_o god_n it_o throw_v itself_o into_o the_o arm_n of_o christ_n on_o who_o it_o be_v fix_v there_o it_o be_v unremovable_a there_o it_o live_v and_o there_o it_o die_v where_o godliness_n dwell_v there_o dwell_v the_o spirit_n of_o love_n for_o god_n be_v love_n and_o he_o make_v his_o saint_n like_v to_o himself_o as_o the_o father_n be_v the_o father_n of_o love_n so_o be_v his_o child_n the_o child_n of_o love_n certain_o this_o grace_n make_v a_o man_n love_n god_n in_o the_o first_o place_n and_o second_o it_o make_v he_o love_v his_o people_n who_o be_v god_n offspring_n a_o man_n may_v safe_o conclude_v where_o there_o be_v no_o love_n there_o be_v none_o of_o god_n dwell_v in_o that_o soul_n if_o we_o do_v but_o consider_v how_o little_a love_n there_o be_v among_o many_o of_o those_o who_o be_v call_v professor_n in_o these_o day_n it_o will_v make_v a_o man_n amaze_v o_o the_o inhuman_a carriage_n of_o man_n to_o man_n yea_o to_o malice_n and_o be_v kind_a one_o to_o another_o tender-hearted_a forgive_a one_o another_o even_o as_o god_n for_o christ_n sake_n have_v forgive_v you_o and_o walk_v in_o love_n even_o as_o christ_n with_o other_o man_n nomination_n man_n that_o be_v with_o the_o eye_n of_o the_o clergy_n at_o least_o many_o of_o they_o for_o i_o at_o a_o morning_n lecture_n hear_v one_o of_o they_o who_o be_v famous_a for_o rail_v say_v that_o those_o rebel_n mean_v the_o army_n have_v now_o get_v all_o the_o strong_a hold_v of_o the_o kingdom_n into_o their_o hand_n with_o a_o intent_n to_o cut_v our_o throat_n now_o they_o send_v forth_o their_o minister_n to_o preach_v to_o we_o a_o sermon_n of_o brotherly_a love_n and_o then_o he_o say_v that_o it_o be_v a_o mark_n of_o a_o deceiver_n to_o preach_v of_o brotherly_a love_n the_o spirit_n of_o meekness_n and_o peace_n etc._n etc._n but_o that_o honest_a piece_n call_v the_o pulpit-incendiary_n have_v characterise_a they_o and_o he_o i_o shall_v not_o stain_v my_o pen_n with_o his_o nomination_n eye_n but_o at_o last_o let_v they_o know_v they_o must_v answer_v for_o themselves_o another_o day_n and_o i_o be_o confident_a when_o these_o man_n come_v to_o die_v they_o shall_v have_v as_o little_a peace_n and_o comfort_n from_o this_o spirit_n of_o bitterness_n as_o the_o malefactor_n have_v from_o the_o hangman_n when_o he_o come_v to_o the_o gallow_n wherefore_o remember_v this_o that_o wheresoever_o godliness_n dwell_v there_o dwell_v a_o spirit_n of_o love_n meekness_n gentleness_n long-suffering_a and_o forbearance_n there_o dwell_v tender-heartedness_n and_o bowel_n of_o compassion_n each_o to_o the_o other_o and_o therefore_o never_o believe_v man_n profession_n but_o look_v on_o their_o practice_n and_o carriage_n each_o to_o other_o for_o the_o spirit_n of_o christ_n be_v a_o spirit_n of_o love_n and_o of_o a_o sound_a mind_n i_o have_v hear_v of_o one_o that_o have_v say_v he_o have_v tremble_v to_o think_v of_o give_v way_n to_o a_o godly_a minister_n in_o this_o city_n that_o he_o shall_v come_v into_o his_o pulpit_n and_o yet_o i_o be_o confident_a he_o that_o speak_v the_o word_n be_v not_o worthy_a to_o carry_v the_o other_o book_n after_o he_o neither_o for_o godliness_n nor_o learning_n be_v not_o this_o man_n of_o that_o mind_n that_o jeroboam_n be_v who_o will_v not_o let_v israel_n go_v up_o to_o worship_n at_o jerusalem_n under_o this_o pretence_n because_o it_o be_v too_o far_o but_o the_o truth_n be_v it_o be_v for_o fear_v it_o will_v weaken_v his_o kingdom_n and_o so_o his_o greatness_n may_v have_v be_v eclipse_v so_o do_v not_o this_o man_n tremble_v not_o for_o fear_v of_o error_n but_o for_o fear_v he_o shall_v steal_v away_o the_o heart_n of_o the_o
