and_o become_v his_o people_n when_o you_o have_v do_v satan_n yet_o a_o little_a more_o service_n than_o you_o will_v shake_v he_o off_o and_o take_v christ_n for_o your_o master_n when_o you_o have_v a_o while_n long_o tread_v under_o foot_n his_o precious_a blood_n than_o it_o shall_v wash_v you_o from_o all_o your_o sin_n when_o you_o have_v run_v deep_a on_o the_o score_n and_o add_v beck_n and_o be_v you_o sure_a of_o acceptance_n how_o long_o so_o ever_o you_o stay_v before_o you_o seek_v it_o will_v holiness_n be_v good_a for_o you_o hereafter_o and_o be_v it_o not_o now_o or_o be_v you_o afraid_a of_o be_v happy_a too_o soon_o wherefore_o weigh_v thing_n well_o sir_n and_o then_o resolve_v whether_o there_o be_v any_o wisdom_n in_o delay_v that_o work_n which_o may_v be_v put_v off_o too_o long_o but_o can_v be_v too_o quick_o do_v that_o work_n to_o which_o in_o all_o reason_n and_o conscience_n you_o stand_v engage_v every_o hour_n even_o to_o be_v divorce_v from_o sin_n and_o satan_n and_o firm_o betroth_v to_o the_o lord_n jesus_n how_o long_o must_v he_o seek_v and_o sue_v for_o thy_o consent_n why_o shall_v not_o he_o have_v thy_o youth_n as_o well_o as_o any_o other_o do_v satan_n deserve_v it_o better_o than_o he_o do_v not_o he_o die_v for_o thou_o in_o the_o prime_n of_o his_o year_n and_o why_o shall_v not_o thou_o live_v to_o he_o whilst_o thou_o be_v young_a when_o will_v thou_o have_v put_v away_o that_o wretched_a disobedient_a answer_n that_o it_o be_v yet_o too_o soon_o to_o entertain_v he_o have_v he_o stand_v knock_v for_o entrance_n till_o his_o lock_n be_v wet_a with_o the_o dew_n of_o the_o night_n and_o be_v it_o still_o too_o soon_o to_o open_v to_o he_o and_o let_v he_o in_o oh_o beware_v lest_o thy_o continue_a thy_o case_n any_o better_a with_o god_n nay_o rather_o they_o make_v it_o worse_o since_o it_o appear_v thou_o be_v convince_v in_o thy_o conscience_n that_o thou_o ought_v to_o live_v after_o another_o fashion_n than_o thou_o do_v and_o yet_o wilful_o neglecte_v thy_o acknowledge_a duty_n i_o hope_v than_o i_o have_v say_v enough_o to_o show_v that_o thou_o have_v no_o refuge_n no_o excuse_n that_o will_v hold_v whilst_o thou_o absente_v thyself_o from_o the_o sacrament_n out_o of_o a_o loathness_n as_o yet_o to_o reform_v thy_o life_n and_o do_v the_o duty_n to_o which_o this_o sinless_a perfection_n
to_o stay_v away_o but_o this_o be_v a_o parable_n show_v what_o entertainment_n the_o most_o do_v give_v to_o the_o gospel_n whereby_o we_o be_v invite_v not_o only_o to_o a_o wedding_n feast_n but_o to_o be_v even_o marry_v ourselves_o to_o the_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n the_o everlasting_a son_n of_o the_o father_n and_o yet_o this_o message_n the_o matchless_a mercy_n whereof_o may_v astonish_v man_n and_o angel_n i_o say_v this_o message_n be_v slight_v man_n will_v not_o come_v to_o christ_n that_o they_o may_v have_v life_n adulterous_a soul_n go_v after_o other_o lover_n and_o will_v not_o be_v espouse_v to_o the_o lord_n of_o glory_n they_o see_v no_o form_n nor_o comeliness_n in_o he_o why_o they_o shall_v desire_v he_o they_o hear_v great_a commendation_n of_o he_o indeed_o be_v all_o they_o have_v no_o mind_n to_o come_v on_o but_o when_o their_o consent_n be_v desire_v they_o have_v some_o excuse_n or_o other_o ready_a at_o hand_n and_o either_o they_o will_v not_o come_v at_o all_o or_o else_o not_o yet_o or_o not_o so_o thorough_o and_o hearty_o as_o they_o be_v command_v and_o in_o such_o a_o wilful_a refusal_n of_o grace_n do_v thousand_o persist_v and_o come_v due_o prepare_v and_o sincere_o dispose_v to_o accept_v the_o same_o shall_v be_v assure_v of_o they_o and_o hither_o do_v god_n minister_n exhort_v all_o to_o come_v in_o the_o appoint_a regular_a way_n and_o what_o be_v the_o effect_n of_o their_o message_n why_o the_o most_o make_v light_n of_o it_o hither_o to_o this_o holy_a table_n be_v people_n call_v to_o give_v up_o themselves_o to_o god_n to_o testify_v the_o truth_n of_o their_o sorrow_n for_o sin_n and_o to_o renew_v their_o resolution_n against_o it_o and_o so_o to_o receive_v a_o seal_a pardon_n and_o a_o title_n to_o life_n everlasting_a but_o for_o their_o part_n they_o have_v no_o such_o like_n to_o these_o spiritual_a good_a thing_n which_o be_v so_o free_o tender_v they_o the_o truth_n be_v their_o sin_n as_o yet_o they_o be_v loath_a to_o leave_v for_o they_o see_v no_o great_a hurt_n in_o they_o nay_o they_o think_v they_o find_v much_o good_a at_o present_a and_o do_v not_o use_v to_o trouble_v themselves_o much_o with_o the_o thought_n of_o that_o mischief_n they_o may_v hereafter_o do_v they_o and_o therefore_o they_o have_v no_o such_o high_a thought_n of_o christ_n for_o his_o be_v able_a to_o mortify_v and_o remove_v their_o lust_n and_o so_o to_o save_v they_o from_o the_o misery_n these_o will_v bring_v they_o to_o they_o can_v very_o hardly_o be_v persuade_v that_o there_o be_v any_o such_o excellency_n in_o a_o holy_a life_n that_o they_o shall_v so_o speedy_o and_o solemn_o resolve_v upon_o it_o and_o though_o they_o can_v like_v well_o enough_o to_o go_v to_o heaven_n when_o they_o must_v needs_o leave_v this_o world_n yet_o they_o look_v upon_o that_o day_n so_o far_o off_o that_o they_o be_v in_o no_o great_a haste_n of_o make_v sure_a their_o future_a happiness_n but_o think_v it_o may_v be_v time_n enough_o to_o do_v that_o a_o great_a while_n hence_o and_o can_v any_o man_n wonder_v if_o those_o who_o be_v no_o more_o sensible_a of_o any_o benefit_n they_o have_v by_o christ_n be_v very_o slack_a and_o negligent_a in_o a_o thankful_a remembrance_n of_o his_o death_n and_o of_o those_o benefit_n which_o thereby_o we_o enjoy_v and_o hope_v for_o which_o be_v the_o great_a end_n of_o celebrate_v this_o sacrament_n no_o marvel_n if_o such_o as_o these_o always_o find_v one_o excuse_n or_o other_o to_o keep_v away_o from_o that_o few_o stay_n at_o home_n but_o now_o when_o god_n himself_o call_v they_o to_o his_o table_n and_o there_o have_v provide_v they_o food_n which_o come_v from_o heaven_n true_a spiritual_a manna_n even_o the_o body_n and_o blood_n of_o christ_n which_o be_v meat_n and_o drink_n indeed_o they_o find_v no_o great_a appetite_n to_o this_o banquet_n all_o the_o great_a word_n they_o hear_v of_o it_o work_v not_o with_o they_o for_o in_o all_o such_o case_n it_o be_v not_o other_o man_n word_n and_o opinion_n that_o we_o judge_v by_o but_o our_o own_o relish_n and_o feeling_n and_o whilst_o man_n have_v get_v such_o corrupt_a disposition_n and_o carnal_a affection_n that_o they_o savour_v only_o those_o thing_n which_o be_v gross_a and_o earthly_a like_o themselves_o what_o wonder_n be_v it_o if_o they_o undervalue_v that_o which_o be_v so_o unsuitable_a to_o they_o and_o in_o which_o they_o can_v feel_v no_o more_o taste_n than_o in_o the_o white_a of_o a_o egg_n a_o swine_n prefer_v his_o own_o swill_n before_o the_o great_a dainty_n that_o can_v be_v provide_v and_o a_o voluptuous_a sinner_n that_o be_v wallow_v in_o the_o mud_n of_o fleshly_a pleasure_n will_v not_o willing_o exchange_v condition_n with_o the_o glorious_a angel_n that_o always_o behold_v the_o face_n of_o god_n oh_o whither_o be_v the_o soul_n of_o man_n degenerate_v into_o what_o a_o low_a and_o sad_a estate_n be_v it_o fall_v that_o it_o find_v sweetness_n in_o any_o thing_n rather_o than_o in_o that_o which_o be_v true_o pleasant_a how_o cheerful_o and_o content_o can_v people_n set_v themselves_o to_o any_o thing_n rather_o than_o to_o that_o only_a work_n which_o god_n have_v appoint_v they_o even_o the_o work_n out_o of_o their_o salvation_n from_o morning_n to_o night_n they_o can_v follow_v their_o worldly_a business_n without_o complain_v and_o yet_o know_v not_o how_o to_o spend_v one_o day_n in_o seven_o nor_o one_o half_a hour_n in_o a_o day_n in_o the_o service_n of_o god_n for_o the_o save_n of_o their_o own_o soul_n oh_o what_o pain_n do_v many_o poor_a man_n take_v only_o to_o get_v a_o livelihood_n in_o the_o world_n and_o yet_o think_v everlasting_a life_n worth_n no_o regard_n or_o care_n at_o all_o they_o can_v be_v content_a to_o spend_v their_o thought_n and_o strength_n and_o time_n upon_o vanity_n to_o lay_v out_o their_o money_n for_o that_o which_o be_v not_o bread_n and_o to_o labour_v for_o the_o wind_n but_o when_o god_n say_v but_o give_v i_o your_o heart_n he_o be_v deny_v if_o this_o careless_a generation_n have_v but_o house_n and_o land_n money_n and_o good_n
for_o prayer_n or_o receive_v sacrament_n who_o be_v listlesse_a to_o all_o duty_n and_o feel_v no_o sweetness_n in_o they_o all_o such_o may_v hence_o learn_v what_o be_v the_o root_n and_o ground_n of_o this_o distemper_n what_o it_o be_v that_o make_v they_o out_o of_o taste_n with_o these_o rich_a and_o savoury_a provision_n which_o all_o healthful_a soul_n do_v so_o dear_o love_v even_o because_o their_o secret_n but_o most_o powerful_a thought_n be_v that_o they_o have_v nothing_o better_o than_o their_o body_n to_o provide_v for_o and_o that_o to_o do_v this_o be_v the_o chief_a business_n they_o have_v and_o that_o nothing_o be_v of_o any_o great_a use_n which_o make_v not_o for_o this_o end_n but_o it_o will_v be_v quite_o otherwise_o with_o they_o if_o they_o be_v indeed_o clear_o convince_v and_o sound_o persuade_v that_o they_o have_v soul_n which_o will_v never_o die_v and_o that_o these_o be_v their_o best_a part_n and_o deserve_v most_o care_n and_o be_v as_o much_o to_o be_v prefer_v before_o the_o body_n as_o a_o man_n before_o the_o horse_n which_o he_o ride_v on_o and_o that_o these_o their_o immortal_a soul_n can_v only_o be_v make_v happy_a by_o themselves_o worthy_a or_o not_o know_v whether_o they_o be_v worthy_a or_o not_o of_o this_o sort_n there_o be_v many_o excellent_a christian_n who_o too_o much_o indulge_v to_o their_o own_o melancholy_a and_o despondent_a apprehension_n and_o also_o many_o weak_a but_o i_o hope_v honest_a well-meaning_a people_n who_o seem_v to_o have_v a_o great_a esteem_n for_o this_o sacrament_n but_o have_v always_o hear_v what_o a_o dangerous_a thing_n it_o be_v to_o receive_v it_o unworthy_o dare_v not_o venture_v upon_o it_o not_o be_v well_o acquaint_v wâ—th_v the_o nature_n and_o reason_n obedience_n to_o god_n which_o he_o require_v nor_o vanquish_v the_o difficulty_n which_o you_o will_v meet_v with_o wherefore_o it_o be_v of_o absolute_a necessity_n that_o you_o accept_v of_o jesus_n christ_n as_o your_o deliverer_n and_o your_o strength_n for_o he_o only_o who_o have_v the_o son_n have_v the_o father_n also_o profess_v then_o before_o god_n your_o unfeigned_a soldier_n be_v wont_a to_o take_v to_o be_v obedient_a to_o their_o general_n and_o rather_o to_o die_v than_o to_o forsake_v their_o colour_n which_o military_a oath_n be_v call_v a_o sacrament_n and_o thus_o both_o by_o baptism_n and_o the_o lord_n supper_n be_v we_o consecrate_v to_o the_o service_n of_o god_n
