every_o overly_o change_n be_v present_o sanctification_n and_o this_o must_v be_v a_o good_a evidence_n to_o they_o and_o so_o like_o some_o herbalist_n that_o treat_v of_o the_o sovereign_a excellency_n of_o several_a herb_n but_o when_o they_o come_v to_o gather_v they_o in_o the_o garden_n they_o take_v their_o counterfeit_n in_o the_o room_n of_o they_o the_o cause_n of_o which_o variety_n of_o apprehension_n be_v the_o rareness_n of_o it_o and_o therefore_o it_o be_v unknown_a and_o the_o corrupt_a experience_n of_o man_n i_o shall_v therefore_o lay_v level_a these_o thing_n by_o show_v you_o what_o that_o measure_n of_o sanctification_n be_v which_o be_v in_o we_o and_o which_o be_v peculiar_a to_o the_o elect_n and_o which_o also_o may_v be_v know_v by_o they_o which_o have_v it_o and_o therefore_o shall_v not_o speak_v of_o sanctification_n at_o large_a which_o be_v the_o change_n of_o the_o whole_a man_n by_o the_o death_n of_o christ_n whereby_o he_o be_v separate_v from_o sin_n and_o sin_n mortify_v in_o he_o and_o by_o the_o life_n of_o christ_n whereby_o he_o be_v dedicate_v unto_o christ_n and_o live_v his_o life_n but_o i_o shall_v treat_v of_o in_o the_o change_n of_o the_o utmost_a end_n 2._o because_o as_o the_o pollution_n of_o the_o whole_a man_n and_o all_o his_o action_n civil_a moral_a and_o religious_a consist_v chief_o and_o appear_v in_o this_o self-seeking_a or_o make_v ourselves_o our_o utmost_a end_n this_o make_v the_o most_o glotious_a action_n vile_a and_o stain_v they_o all_o so_o the_o sanctification_n of_o a_o man_n consist_v chief_o and_o appear_v in_o make_v the_o lord_n our_o utmost_a end_n of_o all_o we_o do_v so_o that_o though_o the_o action_n be_v never_o so_o mean_a and_o poor_a yet_o this_o put_v a_o glory_n and_o lustre_n on_o they_o and_o be_v the_o crown_n of_o they_o even_o of_o the_o give_v of_o a_o cup_n of_o cold_a water_n mat._n 6._o 22._o if_o thy_o eye_n be_v single_a look_v therefore_o as_o before_o the_o lord_n justify_v the_o soul_n every_o man_n live_v seek_v himself_o as_o his_o last_o end_n and_o good_a and_o out_o of_o this_o captivity_n no_o power_n can_v redeem_v they_o dan._n 4._o 30._o gen._n 11._o 4._o so_o after_o it_o the_o lord_n sanctify_v the_o soul_n with_o such_o a_o measure_n of_o his_o grace_n as_o make_v the_o lord_n his_o utmost_a end_n and_o this_o no_o other_o have_v let_v i_o therefore_o show_v you_o what_o this_o sanctification_n be_v more_o full_o and_o with_o all_o the_o chief_n ingredient_n in_o it_o that_o so_o it_o may_v be_v the_o better_o know_v it_o be_v the_o renovation_n of_o the_o whole_a man_n appear_v in_o the_o change_n of_o a_o man_n utmost_a end_n but_o more_o particular_o it_o be_v that_o work_n of_o the_o spirit_n in_o the_o soul_n whereby_o the_o soul_n behold_v the_o glory_n of_o christ_n and_o feel_v his_o love_n hereupon_o close_v with_o the_o whole_a will_n of_o christ_n and_o seek_v to_o please_v he_o as_o his_o happiness_n and_o utmost_a end_n for_o look_v as_o in_o self-seeking_a there_o be_v four_o thing_n 1._o a_o man_n behold_v himself_o and_o some_o good_a in_o himself_o 2._o love_v himself_o abundant_o 3._o please_v his_o own_o will_n 4._o do_v this_o as_o his_o utmost_a and_o last_o end_n so_o here_o in_o this_o description_n of_o sanctification_n which_o i_o oppose_v chief_o to_o self-corruption_n be_v four_o thing_n 1._o the_o soul_n behold_v the_o lord_n in_o all_o his_o glory_n see_v of_o he_o present_a with_o he_o in_o all_o his_o glory_n and_o set_v before_o he_o psal._n 16._o 8._o for_o this_o be_v one_o necessary_a ingredient_n to_o his_o sanctification_n and_o seek_v the_o lord_n as_o his_o utmost_a end_n for_o why_o do_v a_o man_n seek_v himself_o he_o see_v some_o glory_n and_o good_a in_o himself_o none_o in_o the_o lord_n and_o hence_o we_o say_v of_o some_o man_n who_o pride_n spoil_v their_o part_n they_o know_v themselves_o too_o well_o and_o hence_o saint_n when_o they_o see_v their_o own_o vileness_n and_o see_v the_o lord_n they_o be_v so_o far_o from_o seek_v as_o that_o they_o loathe_v themselves_o therefore_o when_o the_o lord_n reveal_v himself_o to_o the_o soul_n in_o his_o glory_n this_o make_v they_o seek_v he_o and_o not_o themselves_o 1_o cor._n 1._o 30._o christ_n be_v make_v wisdom_n righteousness_n etc._n etc._n that_o all_o may_v glory_v in_o he_o for_o this_o be_v the_o glory_n of_o christ_n and_o the_o first_o principle_n of_o seek_v the_o lord_n the_o soul_n see_v his_o good_a lay_v up_o in_o the_o lord_n more_o than_o in_o himself_o nay_o whole_o in_o the_o lord_n not_o at_o all_o in_o himself_o his_o wisdom_n be_v in_o he_o he_o can_v but_o wild_a till_o utter_o lose_v without_o he_o his_o righteousness_n be_v in_o he_o he_o can_v never_o have_v one_o sin_n pardon_v by_o angel_n holiness_n without_o he_o his_o sanctification_n be_v in_o he_o he_o can_v not_o have_v the_o least_o thought_n nor_o desire_n but_o the_o lord_n must_v work_v it_o in_o he_o
