excellency_n of_o a_o man._n and_o theophilus_n they_o which_o be_v not_o to_o be_v forget_v have_v nothing_o of_o dark_a ceremony_n annex_v to_o be_v observe_v with_o the_o same_o care_n as_o we_o do_v the_o substance_n of_o the_o duty_n themselves_o wherefore_o upon_o these_o account_n also_o we_o have_v very_o great_a inducement_n to_o love_v the_o divine_a law_n theoph_n i_o can_v easy_o grant_v that_o from_o the_o intrinsic_a goodness_n of_o these_o law_n there_o be_v a_o very_a strong_a inducement_n to_o love_v they_o but_o be_v it_o eubulus_n so_o great_a a_o one_o that_o these_o law_n which_o have_v a_o intrinsic_a goodness_n shall_v alone_o be_v enjoin_v i_o therefore_o ask_v this_o because_o i_o remember_v you_o say_v that_o the_o sit_v some_o inferior_a law_n to_o the_o temper_n of_o the_o jewish_a nation_n do_v the_o better_a fit_n that_o people_n for_o the_o observance_n of_o those_o law_n which_o be_v in_o their_o own_o nature_n moral_a eubul_n it_o be_v a_o very_a great_a inducement_n to_o our_o love_n that_o those_o law_n alone_o shall_v be_v enjoin_v which_o have_v a_o intrinsic_a goodness_n in_o they_o for_o now_o as_o our_o whole_a duty_n be_v reasonable_a so_o we_o have_v it_o in_o a_o little_a room_n and_o may_v the_o better_o understand_v and_o do_v it_o which_o will_v not_o so_o well_o be_v do_v by_o reason_n of_o the_o vast_a number_n preserve_v our_o life_n by_o no_o mean_n to_o lose_v they_o however_o let_v not_o this_o command_n of_o our_o lord_n which_o require_v we_o to_o part_v with_o estate_n and_o life_n rather_o than_o deny_v he_o be_v fault_v as_o too_o rigid_a and_o hard_a while_o the_o reward_n be_v so_o much_o beyond_o the_o pain_n and_o while_o so_o many_o of_o those_o who_o have_v thus_o suffer_v have_v have_v such_o assistance_n and_o joy_n afford_v they_o even_o in_o the_o midst_n of_o their_o suffering_n that_o a_o man_n will_v almost_o wish_v for_o their_o sorrow_n can_v he_o but_o have_v their_o joy_n together_o with_o they_o from_o all_o which_o it_o may_v appear_v theophilus_n that_o the_o air_n as_o be_v object_v be_v not_o too_o pure_a to_o be_v breathe_v in_o and_o that_o they_o be_v not_o unreasonable_a height_n of_o duty_n which_o be_v require_v of_o we_o neither_o may_v it_o disturb_v we_o that_o this_o our_o work_n be_v not_o without_o difficulty_n to_o be_v begin_v and_o in_o like_a manner_n for_o some_o time_n to_o be_v carry_v on_o by_o we_o for_o it_o be_v in_o a_o sort_n a_o privilege_n which_o angel_n have_v not_o to_o testify_v unto_o pain_n yea_o even_o unto_o will_v i_o be_v from_o question_v the_o goodness_n of_o they_o that_o i_o will_v as_o soon_o doubt_n whether_o it_o be_v good_a to_o live_v and_o be_v happy_a so_o dear_a be_v they_o unto_o i_o yea_o so_o much_o better_a than_o life_n itself_o theoph._n i_o be_o much_o prevail_v upon_o by_o the_o reason_n you_o have_v give_v and_o your_o last_o affectionate_a word_n add_v so_o much_o a_o further_a weight_n to_o those_o reason_n that_o they_o appear_v to_o i_o not_o to_o be_v more_o the_o issue_n of_o your_o brain_n than_o of_o your_o heart_n and_o therefore_o you_o may_v on_o good_a ground_n presume_v that_o they_o will_v be_v convince_a to_o other_o when_o they_o have_v first_o be_v so_o to_o yourself_o but_o though_o i_o acknowledge_v the_o law_n of_o our_o lord_n to_o require_v most_o reasonable_a thing_n of_o we_o and_o do_v find_v that_o they_o true_o have_v a_o high_a place_n in_o my_o esteem_n and_o love_n yet_o i_o will_v confess_v to_o you_o eubulus_n much_o deject_v i_o be_o say_v theophilus_n make_v way_n for_o and_o will_v best_o be_v answer_v by_o the_o consideration_n of_o the_o four_o thing_n viz._n that_o from_o these_o law_n we_o have_v a_o fair_a way_n for_o the_o pardon_n of_o all_o sin_n most_o perfect_a these_o law_n be_v as_o you_o have_v hear_v but_o by_o reason_n of_o that_o weakness_n which_o be_v within_o we_o and_o those_o many_o strong_a temptation_n which_o be_v without_o they_o be_v not_o like_a to_o be_v perfect_o obey_v all_o that_o we_o can_v do_v be_v as_o it_o be_v a_o great_a way_n off_o to_o behold_v and_o admire_v that_o perfection_n which_o we_o can_v of_o ourselves_o attain_v unto_o and_o to_o grieve_v that_o we_o daily_o and_o hourly_o some_o way_n or_o other_o have_v sin_v against_o it_o but_o yet_o there_o be_v hope_n in_o israel_n concern_v this_o thing_n our_o bless_a lord_n know_v our_o frame_n and_o make_v and_o see_v that_o our_o strength_n and_o ability_n be_v but_o small_a have_v add_v two_o other_o law_n of_o faith_n and_o repentance_n in_o which_o we_o may_v find_v some_o cheer_v in_o respect_n of_o those_o many_o breach_n of_o the_o divine_a law_n which_o lie_v as_o a_o weight_n upon_o our_o soul_n that_o of_o faith_n require_v thus_o much_o of_o we_o that_o we_o believe_v in_o christ_n as_o a_o saviour_n who_o by_o his_o precious_a blood_n for_o we_o shed_v have_v appease_v god_n wrath_n and_o obtain_v remission_n for_o all_o the_o sin_n of_o man_n and_o for_o we_o in_o that_o number_n and_o from_o the_o mighty_a importance_n of_o this_o law_n and_o the_o infinite_a benefit_n it_o afford_v unto_o we_o the_o whole_a gospel_n and_o all_o the_o law_n thereof_o be_v in_o a_o comprehensive_a word_n call_v the_o law_n of_o faith._n and_o in_o this_o respect_n it_o be_v much_o different_a from_o the_o old_a law._n perfect_a obedience_n be_v require_v by_o that_o and_o because_o perfection_n of_o obedience_n be_v necessary_o ground_v upon_o a_o perfection_n of_o nature_n the_o law_n seem_v therefore_o to_o have_v be_v the_o rule_n not_o of_o our_o work_n only_o but_o of_o our_o nature_n also_o which_o at_o the_o creation_n be_v commit_v pure_a into_o our_o hand_n but_o this_o law_n of_o faith_n by_o reason_n of_o human_a nature_n have_v be_v perfect_a in_o christ_n and_o have_v do_v also_o without_o the_o least_o failure_n whatsoever_o be_v incumbent_a on_o the_o
