which_o be_v bear_v under_o the_o law_n of_o moses_n shall_v have_v the_o promise_n of_o god_n pertain_v only_o unto_o they_o as_o their_o inheritance_n than_o it_o shall_v seem_v that_o the_o promise_n of_o god_n be_v vain_a &_o of_o none_o effect_n forasmuchas_o it_o be_v evident_o know_v that_o the_o benefit_n of_o god_n come_v to_o no_o man_n for_o the_o law_n sake_n yea_o so_o far_o the_o law_n be_v from_o justification_n and_o the_o give_v of_o this_o so_o high_a a_o benefit_n that_o it_o rather_o threaten_v we_o with_o the_o ire_n and_o indignation_n of_o god_n whereas_o contrariwise_o faith_n make_v the_o ungodly_a righteous_a neither_o can_v there_o be_v any_o inheritance_n of_o peace_n and_o rest_n for_o the_o child_n to_o have_v work_v where_o as_o nothing_o else_o be_v minister_v but_o sin_n and_o indignation_n and_o if_o you_o demand_v of_o i_o how_o it_o chance_v that_o the_o law_n rather_o minister_v ire_n than_o righteousness_n i_o will_v declare_v thus_o unto_o you_o you_o can_v make_v no_o man_n guilty_n of_o any_o crime_n unless_o in_o lay_v the_o law_n against_o he_o you_o open_v his_o fault_n unto_o he_o the_o knowledge_n of_o which_o fault_n the_o law_n minister_v and_o declare_v also_o the_o law_n of_o moses_n prescribe_v many_o thing_n of_o circumcision_n of_o the_o saboth_n day_n of_o the_o feast_n of_o the_o new_a moon_n of_o the_o difference_n of_o meat_n of_o mortuary_n of_o the_o strangle_v of_o blood_n of_o wash_v all_o which_o be_v of_o that_o condition_n that_o though_o they_o be_v observe_v yet_o they_o do_v not_o make_v a_o man_n righteous_a but_o he_o that_o transgress_v they_o be_v guilty_n and_o subject_n to_o punishment_n by_o mean_n of_o the_o law_n but_o the_o law_n of_o moses_n see_v it_o charge_v no_o body_n but_o only_o the_o jew_n and_o again_o see_v the_o inheritance_n of_o all_o nation_n be_v give_v of_o god_n unto_o abraham_n to_o be_v their_o father_n it_o be_v impossible_a that_o the_o promise_n of_o god_n shall_v appertain_v unto_o all_o nation_n through_o the_o benefit_n of_o the_o law_n which_o be_v only_o give_v to_o the_o nation_n of_o the_o jew_n it_o conclude_v therefore_o that_o the_o inheritance_n come_v by_o faith_n that_o our_o justification_n may_v be_v see_v to_o proceed_v of_o the_o only_a grace_n and_o favour_n of_o god_n and_o not_o of_o any_o covenant_n or_o observation_n of_o the_o law_n and_o thus_o it_o be_v know_v how_o the_o goodness_n of_o god_n promise_n descend_v to_o abraham_n posterity_n and_o i_o do_v not_o mean_a all_o they_o only_o to_o be_v of_o abraham_n posterity_n which_o be_v either_o of_o his_o kindred_n or_o else_o join_v with_o he_o in_o the_o law_n but_o much_o rather_o all_o such_o as_o express_v abraham_n faith_n for_o it_o be_v much_o more_o expedient_a that_o the_o alliance_n and_o similitude_n of_o faith_n shall_v be_v of_o more_o efficacy_n by_o which_o he_o deserve_v to_o receive_v the_o promise_n of_o god_n than_o the_o alliance_n and_o conjunction_n of_o the_o law_n which_o engender_v offence_n and_o make_v man_n guilty_n of_o they_o therefore_o the_o jew_n be_v deceive_v to_o boast_v so_o much_o of_o abraham_n deceive_v as_o of_o their_o only_a and_o proper_a father_n see_v he_o be_v the_o father_n of_o all_o such_o nation_n and_o of_o all_o man_n of_o what_o country_n so_o ever_o they_o be_v that_o believe_v in_o our_o lord_n jesus_n chryst_n 51._o which_o thing_n appear_v by_o god_n himself_o in_o the_o xvij_o chapter_n of_o genesis_n when_o god_n change_v abraham_n name_n and_o say_v 17._o i_o have_v appoint_v thou_o to_o be_v the_o father_n of_o many_o nation_n sure_o it_o must_v needs_o be_v true_a that_o god_n he_o self_n say_v but_o how_o i_o pray_v you_o shall_v he_o be_v the_o father_n of_o many_o nation_n if_o he_o only_o belong_v unto_o the_o jew_n wherefore_o 17._o as_o the_o lord_n be_v universal_a to_o all_o man_n that_o believe_v in_o he_o so_o he_o will_v that_o abraham_n which_o be_v a_o figure_n of_o god_n and_o as_o isaac_n be_v also_o of_o christ_n shall_v be_v the_o universal_a father_n of_o all_o man_n that_o do_v represent_v he_o in_o the_o the_o barren_a but_o also_o life_n to_o the_o dead_a which_o be_v command_v to_o kill_v his_o only_a sweet_a &_o dear_a son_n isaac_n in_o who_o be_v all_o his_o joy_n and_o comfort_n do_v without_o any_o tarry_n or_o once_o question_v at_o all_o believe_v the_o word_n of_o the_o promiser_n and_o know_v that_o he_o can_v revive_v he_o again_o and_o make_v they_o that_o be_v not_o to_o be_v again_o at_o his_o will_n and_o pleasure_n the_o jew_n do_v glory_n in_o themselves_o and_o account_v themselves_o worthy_a man_n and_o abhor_v the_o gentile_n as_o nothing_o worth_a at_o all_o but_o so_o great_a a_o multitude_n of_o people_n as_o god_n show_v he_o the_o same_o time_n star_n in_o the_o firmament_n for_o god_n bring_v he_o into_o the_o field_n &_o let_v he_o see_v a_o innumerable_a multitude_n of_o star_n round_o about_o the_o whole_a world_n and_o say_v 15._o as_o it_o be_v impossible_a for_o thou_o to_o number_v those_o star_n that_o thou_o see_v so_o it_o shall_v be_v impossible_a for_o thou_o to_o number_v they_o that_o shall_v come_v of_o thy_o seed_n which_o thing_n though_o it_o seem_v not_o of_o reason_n to_o be_v true_a partly_o for_o the_o debility_n of_o any_o thing_n but_o with_o all_o his_o heart_n believe_v the_o promise_n of_o god_n and_o be_v make_v as_o strong_a in_o his_o faith_n as_o he_o be_v weak_a in_o his_o body_n which_o though_o he_o despair_v in_o his_o own_o virtue_n and_o strength_n yet_o he_o take_v most_o sure_o hold_v through_o hope_n in_o the_o only_a virtue_n of_o the_o promiser_n and_o thus_o usurp_v nothing_o in_o this_o point_n to_o his_o own_o renown_n he_o refer_v all_o to_o the_o glory_n and_o laud_n of_o god_n who_o he_o testify_v by_o this_o his_o great_a faith_n to_o be_v both_o true_a which_o will_v deceive_v no_o man_n 114._o and_o also_o almighty_a which_o can_v perform_v what_o so_o ever_o he_o promise_v though_o it_o pass_v never_o so_o much_o the_o strength_n of_o man_n with_o this_o sort_n of_o sacrifice_n be_v god_n please_v which_o stand_v in_o need_n of_o no_o man_n help_n neither_o of_o his_o cunning_a or_o handy_a worâ—e_n and_o for_o this_o cause_n the_o scripture_n say_v that_o have_v the_o like_a and_o that_o it_o may_v be_v know_v to_o all_o man_n that_o like_a as_o abraham_n obtain_v to_o be_v call_v of_o god_n righteous_a without_o the_o help_n of_o the_o law_n so_o shall_v we_o also_o obtain_v of_o god_n to_o be_v call_v righteous_a for_o our_o only_a faith_n with_o out_o keep_v of_o the_o law_n we_o see_v here_o that_o abraham_n be_v call_v righteous_a only_o because_o he_o believe_v god_n wherefore_o we_o see_v none_o other_o way_n to_o come_v to_o justification_n &_o to_o be_v save_v 1_n but_o to_o believe_v in_o the_o same_o god_n through_o
to_o man_n yet_o god_n which_o know_v all_o thing_n and_o see_v all_o thing_n in_o secret_a shall_v give_v his_o judgement_n thereafter_o but_o this_o judgement_n shall_v be_v do_v of_o god_n by_o his_o dear_a son_n which_o be_v now_o our_o lord_n and_o most_o righteous_a saviour_n and_o shall_v be_v at_o the_o judgement_n day_n the_o judge_n of_o all_o the_o world_n which_o thing_n be_v the_o true_a say_n of_o the_o gospel_n lest_o it_o be_v take_v of_o some_o for_o a_o fable_n or_o dream_n whereof_o i_o now_o most_o reverent_o speak_v therefore_o oh_o thou_o jew_n that_o stand_v so_o much_o in_o thine_o own_o conceit_n and_o be_v proud_a that_o be_v call_v a_o jew_n 8._o make_v thy_o reckon_v upon_o the_o privilege_n of_o the_o law_n which_o be_v give_v of_o god_n only_o unto_o thou_o and_o do_v vaunt_v and_o boast_n god_n to_o be_v the_o author_n of_o thy_o religion_n who_o mind_n and_o pleasure_n thou_o know_v by_o the_o scripture_n that_o come_v from_o he_o and_o be_v bring_v up_o and_o teach_v in_o the_o mystery_n of_o the_o law_n whereby_o thou_o do_v not_o only_o know_v what_o thing_n be_v to_o be_v avoid_v and_o what_o to_o be_v follow_v and_o of_o all_o good_a thing_n what_o be_v the_o best_a but_o also_o think_v thyself_o able_a to_o be_v a_o guide_n unto_o the_o blind_a and_o to_o shine_v before_o they_o which_o be_v in_o darkness_n that_o be_v to_o be_v a_o teacher_n of_o they_o that_o be_v rude_a and_o to_o be_v a_o instructor_n of_o they_o which_o have_v no_o knowledge_n all_o which_o thing_n though_o god_n have_v show_v they_o unto_o thou_o in_o give_v the_o law_n only_o unto_o thou_o shall_v thou_o therefore_o think_v thyself_o better_a than_o the_o gentile_a no_o very_o work_v but_o the_o law_n which_o god_n have_v give_v thou_o for_o good_a make_v thy_o cause_n and_o matter_n worse_a before_o the_o judgement_n seat_n of_o god_n except_o thou_o direct_a thy_o life_n and_o conversation_n according_a to_o the_o law_n in_o which_o thou_o do_v so_o much_o glory_n and_o make_v thy_o boast_n else_o the_o knowledge_n of_o the_o law_n whereof_o thou_o so_o great_o make_v thine_o account_n dangerous_a shall_v be_v a_o very_a snare_n manner_n why_o teach_v thou_o another_o and_o leave_v thyself_o untaught_a 7._o why_o do_v thou_o preach_v that_o theft_n shall_v not_o be_v commit_v and_o yet_o thou_o thyself_o be_v a_o thief_n why_o do_v thou_o command_v other_o to_o forsake_v adultery_n and_o thou_o thyself_o be_v defile_v therewith_o why_o do_v thou_o banish_v idolatry_n in_o another_o and_o be_v thyself_o pollute_v with_o worship_v of_o image_n and_o in_o conclusion_n why_o do_v thou_o glory_n amongst_o man_n in_o that_o thou_o have_v receive_v the_o law_n at_o god_n hand_n and_o in_o transgress_v the_o fame_n do_v dishonour_v god_n for_o in_o that_o thou_o seek_v praise_n and_o honour_n of_o man_n by_o reason_n of_o the_o law_n thou_o be_v become_v a_o vessel_n of_o much_o dishonour_n to_o god_n which_o shall_v by_o thou_o only_o have_v all_o the_o honour_n and_o glory_n and_o although_o no_o man_n iniquity_n can_v in_o deed_n dishonour_n god_n yet_o thou_o do_v as_o much_o as_o in_o thou_o lie_v to_o dishonour_v he_o of_o the_o like_a sort_n of_o man_n 36._o the_o holy_a prophet_n héertofore_o have_v speak_v as_o it_o be_v write_v in_o isaiah_n and_o ezechiel_n the_o name_n of_o the_o lord_n say_v they_o be_v slander_v by_o you_o and_o have_v through_o your_o fault_n a_o evil_a report_n among_o the_o nation_n that_o be_v incline_v to_o idolatry_n in_o as_o much_o as_o you_o proud_o to_o be_v a_o jew_n bear_v or_o to_o be_v of_o the_o jew_n religion_n for_o than_o shall_v circumcision_n only_o profit_v thou_o so_o far_o forth_o as_o thou_o perform_v the_o thing_n for_o who_o cause_n circumcision_n be_v first_o give_v and_o also_o accomplish_v such_o thing_n in_o thy_o life_n which_o thou_o profess_v in_o thy_o ceremony_n otherwise_o if_o thou_o transgress_v the_o law_n it_o shall_v no_o more_o profit_v thou_o to_o be_v circumcise_a before_o the_o face_n of_o the_o just_a god_n than_o though_o thou_o be_v never_o circumcise_a wherefore_o like_v as_o circumcision_n be_v turn_v to_o uncircumcision_n unless_o thou_o also_o perform_v the_o other_o deed_n of_o the_o law_n which_o appertain_v to_o good_a manner_n and_o upright_o conversation_n even_o so_o uncircumcision_n shall_v not_o hurt_v the_o gentile_a but_o shall_v be_v accept_v for_o circumcision_n if_o be_v leave_v and_o forsake_v the_o ceremony_n of_o the_o law_n and_o perform_v those_o thing_n that_o be_v in_o deed_n the_o whole_a sum_n of_o the_o law_n which_o be_v a_o pure_a and_o a_o clean_a life_n and_o shall_v also_o obey_v christ_n which_o be_v the_o end_n of_o all_o law_n therefore_o thou_o jewe_v the_o gentile_a shall_v be_v make_v equal_a with_o thou_o in_o this_o behalf_n yea_o he_o shall_v be_v prefer_v before_o thou_o and_o be_v better_o take_v than_o thou_o because_o he_o know_v no_o circumcision_n and_o his_o innocence_n and_o clean_a life_n shall_v make_v thine_o iniquity_n more_o damnable_a because_o he_o not_o profess_v the_o law_n do_v yet_o declare_v the_o end_n of_o the_o law_n in_o the_o act_n of_o his_o good_a and_o godly_a life_n where_o thou_o glory_v in_o the_o word_n and_o syllable_n of_o the_o law_n and_o profess_v circumcision_n do_v violate_v that_o which_o be_v the_o chief_a of_o the_o law_n god_n which_o judge_v not_o after_o the_o outward_a appearance_n of_o the_o body_n but_o after_o the_o godliness_n of_o the_o spirit_n take_v no_o man_n for_o a_o jew_n except_o he_o perform_v in_o deed_n the_o profession_n of_o a_o jew_n and_o he_o name_v not_o i_o a_o jew_n 8._o that_o have_v the_o manifest_a note_n &_o mark_v of_o the_o jew_n neither_o be_v he_o circumcise_a that_o have_v his_o privy_a skin_n cut_v but_o he_o be_v a_o very_a jew_n that_o be_v right_o a_o jew_n 2._o and_o circumcise_v in_o his_o heart_n which_o god_n only_o behold_v and_o thereafter_o judge_v all_o man_n to_o conclude_v therefore_o he_o be_v circumcise_a which_o rather_o have_v his_o heart_n circumcise_v than_o he_o which_o have_v his_o privy_a member_n circumcise_v which_o also_o do_v not_o rejoice_v in_o the_o mark_n and_o note_n make_v with_o a_o stone_n as_o the_o circumcision_n of_o the_o jew_n be_v but_o rejoice_v in_o the_o spirit_n and_o mind_n of_o the_o law_n for_o he_o that_o have_v only_o his_o flesh_n circumcise_a may_v go_v for_o a_o jew_n amongst_o man_n but_o he_o worthy_o god_n take_v for_o a_o jew_n who_o heart_n be_v purge_v and_o cleanse_v from_o the_o filth_n of_o vice_n and_o sin_n and_o be_v press_v and_o ready_a to_o the_o love_n of_o jesus_n christ_n of_o who_o only_o to_o be_v allow_v be_v the_o most_o high_a and_o chief_a felicity_n the_o three_o chapter_n ¶_o paul_n show_v what_o preferment_n the_o jew_n have_v and_o that_o both_o the_o jew_n and_o gentile_n be_v under_o sin_n and_o be_v only_o justify_v by_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n in_o christ_n but_o here_o will_v some_o man_n say_v see_v the_o sum_n of_o the_o law_n depend_v upon_o godliness_n and_o innocence_n of_o life_n and_o upon_o the_o only_a faith_n in_o jesus_n christ_n what_o pre-eminence_n then_o have_v the_o jew_n more_o than_o the_o gentile_a or_o what_o prevail_v it_o the_o jew_n to_o be_v circumcise_v see_v that_o godliness_n and_o faith_n make_v the_o uncircumcised_a as_o good_a with_o god_n as_o the_o circumcise_a â—ea_o and_o that_o also_o more_o be_v see_v the_o circumcision_n of_o a_o jew_n that_o offend_v make_v his_o cause_n worse_o yes_o very_o the_o jew_n have_v great_a pre-eminence_n first_o he_o may_v rejoice_v in_o that_o he_o be_v by_o nature_n call_v a_o jew_n to_o who_o proper_o the_o word_n of_o god_n be_v commit_v timo._n or_o else_o because_o that_o only_a the_o law_n and_o the_o prophet_n be_v catch_v to_o that_o nation_n either_o for_o this_o cause_n that_o god_n vouchsafe_v to_o be_v their_o instructor_n and_o teacher_n himself_o sure_o it_o be_v a_o honourable_a thing_n to_o be_v of_o that_o nation_n which_o god_n so_o high_o esteem_v and_o further_o the_o jew_n have_v pre-eminence_n because_o the_o same_o by_o reason_n of_o the_o say_a instructor_n goodness_n may_v be_v the_o ready_a to_o the_o true_a faith_n in_o jesus_n christ_n for_o as_o he_o be_v more_o near_o
which_o what_o so_o ever_o he_o promise_v unto_o abraham_n in_o his_o posterity_n he_o have_v perform_v it_o unto_o we_o moses_n in_o jesus_n christ_n our_o lord_n who_o he_o restore_v again_o from_o death_n to_o life_n declare_v thereby_o that_o abraham_n do_v not_o believe_v amiss_o which_o trust_v that_o he_o can_v give_v life_n to_o the_o dead_a and_o to_o make_v the_o thing_n that_o be_v not_o for_o to_o be_v we_o ought_v not_o therefore_o to_o give_v our_o thank_n unto_o the_o law_n of_o moses_n for_o our_o justification_n but_o whole_o &_o altogether_o to_o christ_n which_o â—â—â—ly_o yield_v himself_o to_o death_n to_o put_v away_o our_o sin_n without_o our_o desert_n and_o the_o same_o rose_n again_o from_o death_n to_o the_o end_n we_o shall_v abstain_v from_o deadly_a thing_n and_o never_o after_o commit_v such_o enormity_n and_o sin_n as_o christ_n die_v for_o i_o say_v therefore_o that_o christ_n die_v to_o kill_v our_o sin_n in_o we_o and_o the_o same_o
