work_n of_o some_o enemy_n to_o deceive_v he_o though_o he_o all_o this_o while_n see_v his_o need_n of_o christ_n and_o have_v none_o in_o heaven_n but_o he_o none_o in_o earth_n in_o comparison_n of_o he_o of_o the_o want_n of_o who_o he_o be_v sensible_a yet_o the_o soul_n know_v not_o whether_o all_o this_o humiliation_n which_o be_v wrought_v in_o he_o come_v from_o the_o wrath_n or_o mercy_n of_o god_n and_o whether_o god_n have_v not_o in_o all_o this_o give_v he_o only_o a_o taste_n of_o the_o very_a torment_n of_o hell_n and_o the_o pledge_n of_o they_o to_o his_o everlasting_a perdition_n thus_o may_v the_o poor_a soul_n be_v afraid_a notwithstanding_o all_o this_o gracious_a work_n wrought_v in_o he_o above_o all_o the_o power_n of_o the_o creature_n though_o the_o lord_n have_v not_o say_v much_o of_o it_o unto_o he_o yet_o he_o have_v do_v it_o and_o happy_a we_o that_o ever_o the_o lord_n have_v own_v we_o so_o far_o now_o here_o be_v the_o special_a work_n of_o the_o son_n he_o do_v bring_v we_o back_o again_o to_o the_o father_n and_z reveals_z what_o the_o father_n have_v do_v unto_o we_o even_o his_o rich_a grace_n that_o have_v take_v all_o this_o pain_n with_o we_o for_o as_o no_o man_n know_v the_o son_n but_o the_o father_n so_o neither_o do_v any_o man_n know_v the_o father_n but_o the_o son_n and_o be_v to_o who_o the_o son_n will_v reveal_v he_o mat._n 11.27_o so_o that_o the_o lord_n jesus_n do_v enlighten_v the_o soul_n by_o the_o anoint_v of_o his_o bless_a spirit_n to_o see_v what_o it_o be_v that_o the_o lord_n have_v do_v for_o he_o in_o mercy_n which_o heretofore_o he_o think_v be_v do_v in_o wrath_n whence_o the_o soul_n begin_v to_o see_v the_o father_n love_n even_o the_o goodness_n of_o a_o god_n in_o what_o have_v pass_v upon_o he_o far_o beyond_o what_o he_o can_v have_v ask_v or_o think_v for_o and_o therefore_o now_o begin_v with_o some_o more_o hope_n and_o liberty_n to_o call_v god_n father_n for_o from_o this_o work_n of_o the_o son_n there_o do_v arise_v the_o two_o character_n of_o a_o son_n in_o the_o soul_n both_o which_o be_v comprise_v in_o this_o one_o that_o be_v liberty_n and_o there_o be_v a_o double_a liberty_n wherein_o a_o son_n do_v stand_v 1._o first_o he_o have_v ease_n from_o all_o his_o doubtful_a fear_n or_o at_o least_o from_o a_o great_a part_n of_o the_o burden_n of_o they_o some_o refocilation_n some_o kind_n of_o quietness_n fall_v upon_o the_o heart_n of_o a_o weary_a sinner_n whence_o the_o heart_n be_v ease_v beyond_o his_o thought_n although_o as_o yet_o his_o comfort_n stand_v rather_o in_o expectation_n then_o in_o actual_a fruition_n as_o our_o saviour_n say_v come_v unto_o i_o all_o you_o that_o be_v weary_a and_o heavy_a lade_v and_o i_o will_v give_v you_o rest_n mat._n 11.28.29_o he_o do_v not_o promise_v sudden_a rest_n he_o will_v give_v you_o present_a ease_n but_o learn_v of_o i_o for_o i_o be_o meek_a and_o lowly_a and_o you_o shall_v find_v rest_n unto_o your_o soul_n the_o lord_n will_v give_v rest_n unto_o the_o soul_n of_o his_o people_n at_o the_o present_a he_o give_v they_o ease_v and_o a_o expectation_n of_o much_o more_o plentiful_a fruition_n of_o rest_n and_o peace_n which_o they_o have_v begin_v to_o taste_v of_o and_o how_o do_v the_o lord_n ease_v the_o soul_n in_o such_o a_o case_n so_o as_o that_o they_o feel_v the_o burden_n a_o great_a deal_n light_a how_o do_v the_o son_n quiet_a and_o still_o and_o refresh_v the_o soul_n be_v it_o by_o the_o sight_n of_o his_o own_o hunger_a and_o thirst_v after_o righteousness_n what_o say_v the_o lord_n in_o such_o a_o case_n or_o how_o do_v he_o satisfy_v the_o soul_n he_o tell_v we_o plain_o where_o our_o satisfaction_n be_v joh._n 7.37_o 38_o 39_o if_o any_o man_n thirst_n let_v he_o come_v unto_o i_o and_o drink_n so_o that_o if_o a_o man_n thirst_n how_o shall_v he_o satisfy_v himself_o in_o his_o thirst_v this_o be_v the_o main_a question_n in_o many_o a_o soul_n may_v i_o not_o draw_v consolation_n out_o of_o this_o that_o i_o do_v thirst_n after_o the_o lord_n jesus_n you_o shall_v find_v that_o the_o lord_n do_v not_o bid_v i_o go_v satisfy_v myself_o by_o see_v my_o thirst_n if_o a_o man_n shall_v say_v i_o be_o exceed_o thirsty_a and_o i_o shall_v tell_v he_o that_o he_o be_v a_o man_n of_o a_o healthful_a constitution_n because_o a_o man_n in_o a_o frenzy_n be_v thirsty_a and_o know_v it_o not_o this_o will_v not_o satisfy_v his_o thirst_n how_o therefore_o come_v the_o soul_n to_o be_v free_v of_o his_o burden_n he_o thirst_v after_o christ_n and_o none_o of_o all_o the_o creature_n can_v quench_v his_o thirst_n therefore_o our_o saviour_n proclaim_v this_o in_o the_o last_o and_o great_a day_n of_o the_o feast_n when_o most_o of_o the_o jew_n be_v present_a for_o this_o feast_n last_v eight_o day_n if_o any_o man_n be_v now_o athirst_a and_o not_o satisfy_v with_o all_o the_o ordinance_n they_o have_v now_o enjoy_v he_o do_v not_o send_v they_o back_o again_o nor_o do_v he_o bid_v they_o satisfy_v themselves_o with_o their_o own_o thirsting_n neither_o do_v he_o tell_v they_o that_o their_o blessedness_n lie_v in_o that_o they_o do_v thirst_n though_o there_o be_v a_o blessedness_n in_o it_o but_o how_o then_o shall_v they_o be_v satisfy_v let_v he_o come_v to_o i_o and_o drink_v so_o that_o this_o be_v the_o christian_a liberty_n which_o the_o lord_n bring_v we_o unto_o when_o he_o work_v in_o we_o unquenchable_a desire_n after_o christ_n if_o you_o will_v comfort_v a_o soul_n and_o honourable_a among_o man_n well_o they_o bless_v themselves_o in_o that_o state_n and_o will_v never_o go_v any_o further_o 2._o there_o be_v another_o sort_n that_o be_v convince_v of_o the_o danger_n of_o their_o natural_a estate_n they_o dare_v not_o rest_v there_o and_o hereupon_o they_o fall_v to_o reformation_n and_o so_o to_o duty_n of_o humiliation_n and_o the_o like_a wherein_o they_o find_v such_o a_o bless_a change_n and_o so_o much_o comfort_n as_o do_v satisfy_v they_o and_o indeed_o the_o lord_n do_v comfort_v man_n in_o their_o reformation_n for_o god_n will_v have_v answ_n the_o blessing_n of_o the_o covenant_n be_v not_o far_o from_o they_o for_o there_o be_v two_o sort_n of_o blessing_n some_o do_v consist_v in_o the_o outward_a letter_n of_o the_o ordinance_n the_o gospel_n of_o grace_n the_o sacrament_n and_o seal_n of_o it_o and_o sundry_a common_a gift_n of_o the_o spirit_n that_o be_v plentiful_o dispense_v in_o the_o fellowship_n of_o the_o church_n beside_o a_o liberal_a and_o bountiful_a use_n of_o the_o creature_n for_o they_o be_v all_o serviceable_a to_o the_o people_n of_o god_n and_o all_o these_o thing_n do_v flow_v from_o the_o covenant_n of_o grace_n which_o god_n have_v make_v with_o their_o father_n when_o as_o abraham_n have_v understand_v that_o god_n will_v establish_v the_o covenant_n with_o isaac_n and_o thereupon_o make_v a_o sad_a prayer_n unto_o god_n that_o ishmael_n may_v live_v in_o his_o sight_n gen._n 18.18_o 20._o the_o lord_n answer_v he_o as_o for_o ishmael_n i_o have_v hear_v thou_o behold_v i_o have_v bless_v he_o and_o will_v make_v he_o fruitful_a etc._n etc._n and_o which_o be_v wonderful_a he_o have_v the_o liberty_n of_o all_o the_o ordinance_n until_o he_o cut_v himself_o off_o from_o they_o unto_o this_o covenant_n belong_v those_o gift_n which_o the_o lord_n bestow_v on_o man_n from_o the_o blood_n of_o christ_n heb._n 10.29_o so_o that_o it_o be_v not_o a_o mere_a blank_n for_o by_o it_o here_o be_v sundry_a spiritual_a and_o outward_a blessing_n the_o patience_n and_o bounty_n of_o god_n be_v abundant_o pour_v out_o upon_o the_o carnal_a seed_n of_o christian_a parent_n as_o in_o the_o wilderness_n when_o the_o displeasure_n of_o god_n be_v ready_a to_o kindle_v against_o that_o carnal_a generation_n and_o he_o be_v ready_a to_o cut_v they_o off_o he_o remember_v the_o covenant_n of_o his_o mercy_n to_o abraham_n and_o oft_o time_n spare_v they_o so_o that_o if_o you_o see_v much_o patience_n extend_v to_o the_o child_n of_o christian_a parent_n and_o many_o gift_n bestow_v upon_o they_o whereby_o they_o become_v very_o serviceable_a sometime_o in_o the_o commonwealth_n sometime_o in_o the_o church_n know_v that_o all_o these_o thing_n spring_v from_o the_o covenant_n of_o god_n with_o their_o father_n ay_o object_n but_o if_o the_o very_a life_n and_o kernel_n of_o the_o blessing_n be_v want_v if_o ishmael_n do_v not_o live_v in_o jesus_n christ_n parent_n if_o thou_o see_v any_o child_n of_o the_o godly_a perish_v write_v upon_o he_o he_o be_v either_o a_o persecutor_n or_o a_o worldling_n or_o a_o presumptuous_a hypocrite_n otherwise_o he_o than_o seven_o man_n that_o can_v render_v a_o reason_n or_o if_o you_o break_v not_o out_o upon_o these_o term_n than_o you_o will_v begin_v to_o see_v that_o god_n have_v enlighten_v your_o mind_n and_o to_o seize_v upon_o your_o heart_n and_o than_o you_o see_v that_o you_o can_v do_v something_o you_o can_v pray_v and_o you_o can_v hear_v with_o profit_n and_o the_o like_a and_o hereupon_o you_o come_v to_o build_v a_o undoubted_a hope_n of_o salvation_n you_o believe_v upon_o this_o that_o your_o soul_n be_v wrap_v up_o in_o a_o bundle_n of_o life_n and_o peace_n and_o if_o any_o man_n have_v long_o dwell_v with_o he_o that_o hate_v peace_n i_o be_o for_o peace_n but_o when_o i_o speak_v they_o be_v for_o war_n it_o be_v not_o easy_o attain_v unto_o therefore_o shall_v not_o be_v the_o father_n shall_v now_o stand_v to_o wrestle_v with_o the_o unsupportable_a wrath_n of_o god_n and_o to_o cry_v out_o my_o soul_n be_v in_o a_o agony_n unto_o the_o very_a death_n and_o through_o the_o lord_n jesus_n have_v dear_o pay_v for_o by_o suffer_v his_o father_n wrath_n which_o do_v so_o drink_v up_o his_o spirit_n that_o i_o believe_v he_o die_v not_o by_o the_o pain_n of_o his_o body_n for_o he_o die_v before_o his_o time_n but_o the_o wrath_n of_o god_n do_v swallow_v he_o up_o principal_o though_o his_o bodily_a pain_n do_v help_v it_o forward_o now_o by_o this_o mean_v we_o have_v access_n unto_o the_o lord_n and_o into_o this_o grace_n wherein_o we_o stand_v rom._n 5.2_o and_o that_o with_o boldness_n and_o confidence_n ephes_n 2.12_o even_o to_o enter_v with_o
