be_v a_o powerful_a sin_n in_o the_o unregenerate_a state_n be_v lust_n or_o the_o law_n in_o the_o member_n or_o the_o body_n of_o sin_n or_o the_o flesh_n there_o be_v all_o these_o and_o more_o name_n for_o sinful_a nature_n now_o the_o convert_v a_o soul_n to_o christ_n do_v not_o heal_v this_o fountain_n of_o sinful_a nature_n whole_o nor_o take_v it_o away_o quite_o but_o there_o be_v still_o a_o power_n in_o the_o flesh_n lust_a against_o the_o spirit_n so_o as_o it_o be_v both_o possible_a and_o easy_a for_o the_o same_o particular_a sin_n or_o act_n of_o corruption_n to_o break_v out_o and_o appear_v upon_o the_o juncture_n of_o the_o same_o temptation_n and_o god_n take_v off_o for_o a_o time_n his_o power_n of_o restraint_n and_o spirit_n we_o know_v corruption_n may_v gather_v strength_n in_o the_o regenerate_a one_o and_o so_o the_o fountain_n may_v bubble_v at_o the_o same_o place_n after_o conversion_n as_o before_o conversion_n take_v not_o away_o corruption_n from_o the_o nature_n of_o man_n but_o ingraft_v or_o plant_n in_o a_o new_a nature_n of_o spirit_n into_o the_o nature_n of_o man_n which_o weaken_v and_o impair_v and_o work_v out_o the_o flesh_n and_o the_o inward_a grow_n of_o the_o new_a man_n cause_v a_o perish_n of_o the_o outward_a man_n and_o we_o be_v now_o in_o the_o second_o adam_n who_o be_v the_o quicken_a spirit_n the_o old_a man_n or_o adam_n be_v put_v off_o daily_o with_o his_o former_a lust_n yet_o not_o so_o but_o that_o we_o may_v be_v much_o lose_v in_o our_o account_n as_o many_o be_v for_o there_o be_v great_a deceitfulness_n in_o mortification_n of_o sin_n as_o it_o be_v common_o take_v for_o the_o not_o act_n of_o sin_n or_o conceive_n of_o lust_n be_v not_o pure_a mortification_n because_o there_o may_v be_v lust_n or_o sinful_a nature_n and_o yet_o that_o lust_n through_o the_o power_n of_o some_o law_n covenant_n promise_n or_o legal_a watchfulness_n as_o be_v usual_a with_o some_o under_o legal_a conversion_n may_v be_v so_o keep_v under_o that_o it_o break_v not_o out_o and_o yet_o it_o be_v there_o as_o in_o the_o pare_n of_o the_o nail_n or_o cut_v of_o the_o hair_n or_o prune_v of_o the_o tree_n there_o be_v a_o cut_n off_o but_o not_o a_o cut_v out_o nor_o a_o eradicate_v or_o root_n up_o of_o such_o a_o nature_n and_o so_o long_o there_o may_v be_v a_o break_n out_o a_o spring_v a_o gain_n and_o so_o in_o corruption_n or_o sinful_a nature_n so_o as_o i_o conceive_v it_o be_v rather_o tradition_n than_o truth_n that_o convert_v person_n can_v scarce_o relapse_n into_o the_o same_o particular_a sin_n yet_o we_o have_v be_v tell_v of_o a_o strange_a power_n which_o contrition_n or_o repentance_n bring_v with_o it_o to_o the_o melt_n away_o the_o former_a sin_n quite_o or_o at_o least_o to_o lay_v in_o such_o a_o spiritual_a restraint_n upon_o the_o soul_n that_o it_o shall_v scarce_o ever_o commit_v the_o particular_a sin_n of_o its_o the_o law_n as_o the_o apostle_n say_v for_o if_o the_o not_o act_v such_o or_o such_o a_o sin_n or_o the_o spiritually-carnal_a change_n as_o the_o sanctification_n of_o this_o life_n be_v there_o sanctification_n so_o far_o as_o the_o scripture_n do_v as_o a_o low_a motive_n and_o more_o carnal_o mix_v and_o uncertain_a way_n of_o persuasion_n and_o assurance_n of_o justification_n but_o a_o little_a to_o note_v to_o you_o two_o side_n sad_o mistake_v one_o another_o in_o point_n of_o this_o nature_n the_o one_o cry_v out_o against_o the_o other_o as_o if_o they_o hold_v we_o be_v justify_v partly_o from_o our_o be_v sanctify_v or_o from_o our_o work_n the_o other_o on_o the_o contrary_a cry_v out_o that_o such_o will_v cast_v out_o all_o sanctification_n now_o such_o opinion_n be_v in_o neither_o of_o they_o just_o in_o they_o i_o mean_v in_o those_o of_o both_o that_o can_v spiritual_o judge_v but_o there_o be_v some_o expression_n on_o both_o part_n which_o make_v the_o one_o pass_v for_o legal_a teacher_n and_o the_o other_o for_o antinomian_n the_o one_o give_v too_o much_o in_o their_o sermon_n and_o book_n to_o faith_n and_o work_n in_o a_o unwarrantable_a jealousy_n lest_o holiness_n shall_v be_v slight_v some_o other_o less_o than_o be_v fit_a lest_o freegrace_n shall_v lose_v her_o due_a and_o both_o in_o a_o unwarrantable_a jealousy_n and_o indeed_o which_o he_o justify_v or_o forgive_v you_o you_o be_v clear_a against_o the_o word_n for_o if_o it_o be_v of_o work_n it_o be_v no_o more_o of_o grace_n otherwise_o work_n be_v no_o more_o work_n
