their_o profession_n will_v wear_v away_o where_o there_o be_v not_o a_o godly_a life_n together_o with_o profession_n profession_n will_v vanish_v and_o come_v to_o nothing_o their_o very_a common_a grace_n will_v be_v take_v away_o from_o they_o if_o they_o have_v not_o a_o care_n of_o their_o life_n but_o if_o they_o have_v a_o care_n of_o their_o life_n they_o will_v continue_v in_o the_o way_n of_o godliness_n and_o grow_v up_o and_o increase_v more_o and_o more_o three_o have_v a_o care_n of_o your_o conversation_n that_o you_o may_v get_v honour_n in_o the_o very_a conscience_n of_o man_n quest_n some_o will_v say_v shall_v we_o have_v a_o care_n of_o our_o conversation_n that_o we_o may_v get_v honour_n ans_fw-fr yes_o true_o a_o man_n may_v desire_v to_o have_v the_o testimony_n of_o the_o conscience_n of_o those_o that_o he_o live_v withal_o it_o be_v no_o matter_n for_o their_o talk_v this_o or_o that_o but_o that_o you_o may_v get_v into_o their_o conscience_n god_n give_v you_o liberty_n for_o that_o four_o you_o by_o this_o mean_n will_v be_v instrument_n of_o a_o great_a deal_n of_o public_a good_a if_o you_o live_v according_a to_o your_o profession_n careful_a of_o thy_o life_n and_o conversation_n god_n employ_v thou_o in_o this_o work_n to_o keep_v up_o the_o succession_n of_o the_o honour_n of_o profession_n in_o the_o world_n and_o this_o be_v a_o comfortable_a life_n indeed_o and_o thus_o we_o have_v do_v with_o the_o explication_n or_o the_o point_n now_o i_o shall_v only_o give_v you_o some_o passage_n for_o the_o application_n of_o it_o application_n only_o say_v the_o apostle_n let_v your_o conversation_n be_v as_o become_v the_o gospel_n of_o christ_n have_v a_o care_n of_o this_o above_o all_o thing_n oh_o you_o will_v fain_o get_v more_o knowledge_n and_o be_v account_v somebody_o in_o the_o place_n where_o you_o live_v and_o be_v a_o eminent_a professor_n where_o you_o live_v well_o whatsoever_o you_o will_v fain_o be_v word_n and_o if_o they_o do_v their_o heart_n rise_v against_o it_o or_o it_o may_v be_v they_o little_a regard_n it_o but_o you_o by_o your_o conversation_n may_v do_v that_o which_o the_o world_n will_v not_o do_v you_o may_v be_v converter_n of_o they_o and_o in_o this_o sense_n indeed_o there_o may_v be_v woman_n preacher_n that_o be_v preach_v in_o their_o life_n and_o conversation_n and_o that_o be_v all_o the_o preach_v that_o the_o holy_a ghost_n allow_v woman_n let_v they_o preach_v that_o way_n in_o their_o life_n and_o conversation_n in_o their_o family_n and_o preach_v every_o day_n a_o sermon_n and_o neither_o god_n nor_o man_n will_v find_v fault_n with_o any_o such_o thing_n and_o this_o be_v the_o way_n for_o they_o to_o do_v great_a service_n for_o god_n and_o so_o likewise_o shall_v husband_n do_v to_o convert_v their_o wife_n you_o complain_v one_o of_o another_o but_o do_v you_o labour_v to_o convince_v and_o convert_v one_o another_o by_o your_o holy_a the_o last_o place_n if_o they_o be_v not_o turn_v to_o god_n than_o your_o conversation_n shall_v serve_v to_o condemn_v they_o to_o aggravate_v their_o sin_n and_o their_o condemnation_n in_o the_o day_n of_o jesus_n christ_n as_o it_o be_v say_v of_o noah_n in_o heb._n 11._o 7._o that_o noah_n prepare_v a_o ark_n by_o the_o which_o he_o condemn_v the_o world_n he_o condemn_v the_o world_n by_o in_o respect_n of_o wicked_a man_n also_o in_o respect_n of_o the_o saint_n we_o must_v be_v very_o careful_a of_o our_o conversation_n 1._o for_o by_o your_o conversation_n you_o will_v rejoice_v the_o heart_n of_o the_o saint_n oh_o those_o that_o be_v godly_a when_o they_o see_v other_o that_o profess_v godliness_n to_o walk_v in_o a_o strict_a and_o holy_a conversation_n how_o do_v it_o rejoice_v their_o heart_n it_o be_v the_o comfort_n of_o their_o life_n 2._o beside_o they_o bless_v god_n for_o it_o they_o not_o only_o rejoice_v in_o it_o but_o bless_v god_n for_o it_o when_o they_o get_v alone_o in_o secret_a they_o be_v blessing_n god_n for_o the_o gracious_a and_o holy_a and_o convince_a conversation_n of_o such_o and_o such_o kind_n of_o man_n that_o they_o converse_v with_o 3._o and_o by_o that_o mean_v the_o saint_n they_o have_v a_o boldness_n before_o man_n they_o can_v lift_v up_o their_o head_n wheresoever_o they_o go_v when_o they_o know_v that_o all_o such_o who_o make_v profession_n of_o religion_n in_o the_o place_n where_o they_o live_v they_o walk_v unblamable_o upon_o that_o godly_a man_n can_v hold_v up_o their_o head_n with_o boldness_n whereas_o otherwise_o it_o make_v such_o as_o be_v professor_n of_o religion_n ashamed_a when_o they_o see_v and_o hear_v of_o such_o and_o such_o that_o make_v profession_n of_o religion_n to_o walk_v scandalous_o and_o loose_o but_o of_o they_o we_o shall_v speak_v present_o 4._o then_o further_o your_o holy_a conversation_n it_o will_v establish_v the_o heart_n of_o the_o saint_n it_o will_v settle_v young_a beginner_n there_o be_v many_o that_o be_v give_v up_o their_o name_n to_o christ_n when_o they_o see_v the_o holy_a and_o gracious_a conversation_n of_o these_o that_o be_v ancient_a professor_n oh_o how_o be_v they_o establish_v in_o the_o way_n of_o godliness_n 5._o and_o it_o will_v edify_v the_o saint_n they_o will_v edify_v and_o grow_v up_o in_o holiness_n they_o will_v imitate_v you_o and_o will_v find_v the_o grace_n of_o god_n not_o only_o strengthen_v but_o increase_v in_o they_o by_o your_o conversation_n oh_o the_o abundance_n of_o good_a that_o you_o may_v do_v and_o therefore_o christian_n have_v a_o care_n of_o your_o conversation_n 6._o then_o you_o in_o respect_n of_o yourselves_o by_o this_o mean_v you_o will_v have_v a_o evidence_n to_o your_o soul_n of_o the_o truth_n of_o grace_n in_o your_o heart_n which_o you_o can_v have_v if_o your_o conversation_n be_v not_o right_a in_o 1_o john_n 1._o 6._o mark_n what_o the_o apostle_n speak_v there_o if_o we_o say_v that_o we_o have_v fellowship_n with_o he_o and_o walk_v in_o darkness_n we_o lie_v and_o do_v not_o know_v the_o truth_n and_o again_o you_o have_v a_o notable_a a_o preparation_n to_o that_o &_o especial_o to_o young_a professor_n that_o have_v be_v wrought_v upon_o by_o the_o word_n within_o these_o few_o year_n since_o there_o have_v be_v more_o freedom_n of_o preach_v the_o gospel_n and_o i_o very_o believe_v that_o divers_a of_o you_o in_o this_o congregation_n do_v know_v many_o young_a one_o and_o other_o that_o have_v be_v wrought_v upon_o by_o the_o ministry_n of_o the_o word_n that_o for_o the_o first_o year_n be_v very_o exact_a and_o very_o careful_a of_o their_o life_n and_o very_o punctual_a in_o every_o thing_n but_o you_o now_o see_v they_o begin_v to_o grow_v loose_a and_o wanton_a and_o vain_a in_o their_o conversation_n oh_o this_o be_v a_o sad_a and_o a_o evil_a thing_n if_o you_o will_v be_v careful_a of_o your_o conversation_n observe_v this_o seven_o rule_n be_v not_o only_o careful_a at_o the_o first_o work_n of_o god_n upon_o you_o when_o you_o begin_v to_o be_v enlighten_v but_o in_o the_o constant_a course_n of_o your_o life_n oh_o give_v i_o a_o professor_n of_o religion_n that_o be_v wrought_v upon_o when_o he_o be_v a_o youth_n or_o a_o young_a maid_n and_o yet_o continue_v till_o they_o be_v old_a disciple_n in_o a_o constant_a way_n of_o holiness_n and_o strictness_n oh_o they_o be_v the_o most_o beautiful_a object_n that_o be_v in_o the_o world_n to_o behold_v the_o sun_n in_o the_o firmament_n be_v not_o so_o glorious_a as_o a_o ancient_a professor_n of_o religion_n that_o have_v continue_v constant_a in_o the_o way_n of_o godliness_n from_o his_o youth_n that_o can_v say_v as_o good_a obadiah_n once_o say_v 1_o king_n 18._o 12._o i_o have_v fear_v the_o lord_n from_o my_o youth_n and_o my_o conscience_n though_o it_o tell_v i_o of_o many_o fail_n and_o weakness_n yet_o my_o conscience_n excuse_v i_o in_o this_o that_o i_o have_v endeavour_v with_o a_o good_a conscience_n to_o walk_v with_o god_n and_o without_o offence_n to_o man_n and_o not_o give_v way_n to_o myself_o in_o any_o way_n of_o looseness_n since_o god_n make_v know_v himself_o to_o i_o oh_o such_o may_v have_v a_o abundance_n entrance_n into_o the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n and_o die_v with_o abundance_n of_o comfort_n but_o thus_o much_o for_o this_o first_o point_n that_o christian_n ought_v to_o be_v careful_a of_o their_o conversation_n we_o come_v now_o to_o the_o second_o and_o that_o be_v the_o main_a point_n in_o the_o text._n let_v your_o conversation_n be_v as_o become_v the_o gospel_n of_o christ_n 2._o doct._n every_o kind_n of_o conversation_n of_o professor_n be_v not_o enough_o it_o must_v rise_v to_o that_o height_n as_o must_v be_v suitable_a to_o the_o gospel_n of_o christ_n meet_v for_o the_o gospel_n that_o they_o do_v profess_v that_o be_v our_o point_n now_o we_o shall_v come_v to_o the_o particular_n what_o conversation_n it_o be_v that_o be_v meet_v for_o the_o gospel_n of_o christ_n i_o give_v you_o the_o head_n in_o the_o open_n of_o it_o but_o now_o i_o shall_v speak_v to_o they_o first_o that_o conversation_n that_o be_v meet_v and_o become_v the_o gospel_n of_o christ_n must_v be_v a_o conversation_n raise_v to_o a_o high_a degree_n than_o the_o light_n of_o nature_n will_v raise_v it_o that_o conversation_n that_o be_v no_o high_a than_o possible_o may_v be_v raise_v by_o the_o light_n of_o nature_n certain_o that_o be_v not_o a_o conversation_n become_v the_o gospel_n of_o christ_n that_o be_v beneath_o not_o fit_a for_o the_o gospel_n of_o christ_n as_o thus_o suppose_v a_o man_n in_o his_o boat_n here_o in_o the_o thames_n row_n very_o exact_o i_o but_o this_o be_v not_o a_o work_n suitable_a to_o show_v the_o skill_n of_o a_o navigator_n of_o one_o that_o profess_v the_o art_n of_o navigation_n it_o be_v beneath_o that_o why_o so_o to_o live_v exact_o according_a to_o the_o light_n of_o nature_n it_o be_v beneath_o the_o conversation_n that_o become_v the_o gospel_n of_o christ_n if_o so_o be_v that_o a_o man_n shall_v make_v his_o boast_n that_o he_o have_v great_a skill_n in_o the_o art_n of_o navigation_n and_o how_o will_v he_o show_v this_o skill_n he_o will_v go_v into_o a_o boat_n and_o there_o he_o will_v row_v over_o the_o thames_n and_o by_o that_o you_o may_v see_v what_o a_o mighty_a navigator_n he_o be_v this_o will_v be_v ridiculous_a to_o any_o man_n and_o so_o if_o one_o that_o profess_v the_o gospel_n of_o christ_n will_v manifest_v that_o he_o be_v a_o good_a christian_a what_o do_v he_o do_v the_o life_n that_o he_o live_v it_o be_v no_o other_o than_o a_o man_n by_o the_o light_n of_o nature_n may_v be_v enable_v to_o this_o be_v even_o as_o ridiculous_a as_o the_o other_o 1._o as_o now_o for_o instance_n the_o light_n of_o nature_n that_o will_v teach_v this_o that_o we_o be_v to_o worship_n god_n the_o heathen_n have_v worship_v god_n in_o their_o way_n 2._o yea_o the_o light_n of_o nature_n will_v teach_v that_o we_o must_v live_v just_o among_o man_n yea_o and_o that_o we_o must_v do_v as_o we_o will_v be_v do_v to_o this_o the_o light_n of_o nature_n will_v teach_v many_o of_o the_o heathen_n have_v have_v that_o principle_n to_o be_v just_a with_o man_n to_o do_v as_o we_o will_v be_v do_v by_o the_o light_n of_o nature_n condemn_v gross_a sin_n of_o drunkenness_n adultery_n swear_v etc._n etc._n i_o can_v give_v you_o many_o instance_n in_o the_o law_n of_o heathen_n punish_v those_o sin_n very_o severe_o and_o some_o of_o they_o with_o death_n 3._o yea_o the_o light_n of_o nature_n will_v rise_v thus_o high_a that_o a_o man_n shall_v be_v conscientious_a shall_v make_v conscience_n of_o secret_a sin_n of_o sin_n that_o none_o in_o the_o world_n can_v know_v of_o or_o be_v ever_o like_a to_o know_v of_o as_o i_o remember_v sometime_o i_o have_v tell_v you_o of_o one_o of_o the_o heathen_n that_o do_v but_o owe_v for_o a_o pair_n of_o shoe_n to_o a_o shoe_n maker_n and_o no_o body_n know_v it_o but_o only_o the_o shoemaker_n himself_o the_o shoemaker_n die_v no_o body_n can_v challenge_v this_o of_o he_o yet_o his_o conscience_n will_v never_o let_v he_o be_v at_o quiet_a until_o he_o run_v and_o throw_v the_o money_n into_o the_o shop_n and_o say_v though_o he_o be_v dead_a to_o other_o yet_o he_o be_v not_o dead_a to_o i_o whereas_o he_o have_v a_o temptation_n to_o have_v keep_v it_o because_o no_o body_n can_v challenge_v it_o he_o know_v it_o be_v not_o he_o he_o know_v it_o be_v either_o the_o child_n or_o executor_n and_o so_o he_o restortd_v it_o many_o particular_n may_v be_v name_v to_o show_v how_o far_o we_o may_v go_v by_o the_o light_n of_o nature_n but_o now_o i_o only_o bring_v it_o in_o to_o this_o end_n to_o show_v that_o if_o we_o will_v have_v our_o conversation_n such_o as_o become_v the_o gospel_n of_o christ_n we_o must_v go_v beyond_o what_o ever_o any_o have_v do_v by_o the_o light_n of_o nature_n and_o yet_o oh_o lord_n how_o short_a do_v many_o professor_n of_o religion_n come_v of_o this_o how_o many_o that_o will_v profess_v they_o hope_v to_o be_v save_v by_o christ_n i_o suppose_v there_o be_v not_o any_o one_o in_o this_o congregation_n or_o if_o i_o shall_v go_v to_o every_o one_o house_n that_o belong_v to_o the_o parish_n they_o will_v say_v they_o hope_v to_o be_v save_v by_o jesus_n christ_n and_o yet_o what_o worship_n of_o god_n be_v there_o and_o what_o justice_n be_v there_o among_o man_n to_o do_v as_o they_o will_v be_v do_v by_o nay_o this_o be_v a_o rule_n that_o will_v examine_v many_o professor_n of_o religion_n and_o their_o conscience_n will_v tell_v they_o that_o in_o such_o and_o such_o thing_n they_o will_v be_v loath_a to_o be_v deal_v with_o as_o they_o deal_v with_o other_o and_o for_o gross_a sin_n many_o professor_n of_o religion_n break_v out_o into_o they_o also_o for_o all_o be_v a_o kind_n of_o professor_n of_o the_o gospel_n at_o large_a drunkard_n and_o adulterer_n and_o blasphemer_n and_o yet_o they_o will_v come_v and_o make_v profession_n of_o religion_n and_o think_v it_o very_o much_o if_o they_o shall_v be_v deny_v the_o sacrament_n of_o the_o body_n and_o blood_n of_o christ_n why_o be_v they_o not_o christian_n and_o their_o child_n christian_n and_o yet_o must_v they_o not_o be_v baptise_a and_o yet_o they_o be_v beneath_o heathen_n heathen_n will_v rise_v in_o judgement_n against_o they_o and_o for_o conscienciousness_n in_o secret_a i_o appeal_v to_o every_o one_o of_o your_o conscience_n be_v there_o no_o sin_n that_o

under_o the_o law_n that_o it_o be_v obedience_n to_o god_n as_o a_o creator_n he_o do_v work_v for_o natural_a good_a and_o he_o wrought_v by_o the_o strength_n he_o have_v receive_v and_o he_o be_v in_o hazard_n of_o miscarry_v eternal_o now_o compare_v his_o condition_n with_o the_o condition_n of_o the_o saint_n in_o the_o time_n of_o the_o gospel_n and_o you_o will_v find_v the_o condition_n of_o the_o saint_n have_v the_o fruit_n of_o the_o gospel_n to_o be_v in_o a_o great_a deal_n better_a condition_n even_o now_o not_o only_o shall_v be_v in_o heaven_n but_o be_v in_o a_o better_a condition_n now_o than_o adam_n be_v in_o paradise_n 1._o adam_n he_o obey_v god_n and_o tender_v up_o his_o service_n to_o god_n as_o a_o creator_n but_o now_o the_o people_n of_o god_n under_o the_o gospel_n those_o that_o be_v bring_v home_o to_o god_n by_o the_o gospel_n they_o look_v upon_o god_n under_o another_o relation_n not_o mere_o as_o creator_n but_o all_o their_o service_n that_o they_o tender_v up_o to_o god_n it_o be_v as_o unto_o the_o father_n of_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n and_o their_o father_n in_o he_o i_o go_v to_o my_o father_n and_o i_o go_v to_o your_o father_n say_v christ_n john_n 20._o 17._o it_o be_v true_a still_o we_o look_v upon_o god_n as_o the_o first-being_a of_o all_o thing_n as_o creator_n but_o we_o look_v upon_o he_o in_o a_o high_a relation_n than_o mere_o our_o creator_n we_o look_v upon_o he_o as_o the_o father_n of_o jesus_n christ_n and_o so_o in_o jesus_n christ_n as_o our_o father_n and_o so_o we_o tender_v up_o obedience_n to_o he_o in_o that_o way_n and_o sure_o such_o obedience_n tender_v up_o to_o god_n as_o under_o such_o a_o relation_n shall_v be_v a_o high_a kind_n of_o obedience_n a_o high_a kind_n of_o holiness_n than_o be_v in_o adam_n although_o it_o be_v true_a in_o respect_n of_o our_o condition_n here_o we_o be_v not_o so_o free_a from_o corruption_n as_o adam_n be_v in_o innocence_n yet_o the_o obedience_n that_o we_o tender_v up_o to_o god_n though_o it_o be_v not_o so_o free_a i_o say_v from_o mixture_n yet_o it_o be_v of_o a_o high_a nature_n than_o adam_n be_v it_o be_v to_o god_n as_o the_o father_n of_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n 2._o we_o have_v better_a promise_n than_o ever_o adam_n have_v we_o have_v promise_n of_o heavenly_a glory_n that_o he_o have_v not_o god_n do_v not_o say_v do_v and_o live_v to_o we_o only_o live_v hear_v in_o the_o world_n in_o a_o natural_a life_n and_o i_o will_v free_v you_o from_o outward_a trouble_n and_o from_o the_o death_n of_o the_o as_o from_o the_o head_n they_o have_v a_o head_n that_o adam_n have_v not_o to_o draw_v strength_n from_o and_o therefore_o they_o be_v to_o manifest_v the_o strength_n of_o jesus_n christ_n in_o all_o their_o way_n that_o fullness_n that_o there_o be_v in_o jesus_n christ_n they_o be_v to_o make_v that_o appear_v to_o the_o world_n in_o their_o life_n and_o conversation_n and_o therefore_o that_o text_n col._n 1_o 10_o 11._o be_v very_o remarkable_a that_o you_o may_v walk_v worthy_a of_o the_o lord_n unto_o all_o please_a be_v fruitful_a in_o every_o good_a work_n and_o increase_v in_o before_o this_o time_n and_o therefore_o let_v your_o peace_n be_v a_o firm_a a_o settle_a and_o a_o constant_a peace_n oh_o that_o this_o be_v but_o think_v on_o in_o these_o contention_n day_n wherein_o there_o be_v such_o breach_n between_o brother_n and_o brother_n in_o every_o town_n in_o every_o family_n and_o none_o almost_o but_o be_v break_v off_o one_o from_o another_o with_o a_o irreconcilable_a spirit_n oh_o how_o unbeseeming_a the_o gospel_n of_o jesus_n christ_n be_v a_o irreconciliable_a spirit_n certain_o god_n have_v not_o make_v thou_o to_o know_v what_o the_o mystery_n of_o the_o gospel_n of_o peace_n be_v who_o have_v war_n in_o thy_o heart_n and_o tongue_n against_o thy_o brother_n and_o that_o be_v the_o second_o thing_n that_o the_o gospel_n hold_v forth_o unto_o we_o only_o take_v this_o one_o note_n in_o this_o second_o thing_n that_o whereas_o there_o be_v many_o argument_n to_o move_v we_o to_o such_o a_o conversation_n as_o now_o i_o be_o urge_v upon_o you_o yet_o let_v christian_n above_o all_o argument_n make_v the_o gospel_n to_o be_v the_o argument_n of_o argument_n to_o move_v they_o to_o it_o as_o now_o for_o the_o matter_n of_o peace_n there_o be_v many_o argument_n to_o move_v we_o to_o be_v at_o peace_n with_o our_o brother_n from_o the_o inconvenience_n that_o will_v follow_v upon_o our_o breach_n &_o the_o like_a now_o show_v yourselves_o christian_n in_o this_o above_o all_o argument_n make_v the_o consideration_n of_o what_o you_o understand_v in_o the_o gospel_n to_o be_v the_o great_a motive_n of_o motive_n to_o prevail_v with_o you_o for_o peace_n and_o this_o argument_n will_v do_v it_o when_o nothing_o else_o will_v do_v it_o it_o may_v be_v a_o friend_n come_v and_o persuade_v you_o to_o be_v at_o peace_n you_o will_v find_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o trouble_n in_o lawing_n and_o sue_v and_o enmity_n one_o against_o another_o there_o will_v come_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o anxiety_n and_o therefore_o be_v reconcile_v and_o live_v like_o neighbour_n one_o with_o another_o well_o but_o when_o you_o find_v that_o your_o heart_n do_v not_o stoop_v to_o any_o other_o argument_n then_o get_v alone_o into_o your_o closert_n search_v the_o scripture_n and_o there_o lie_v to_o your_o heart_n all_o the_o argument_n that_o you_o can_v from_o the_o gospel_n of_o jesus_n christ_n there_o see_v how_o god_n reconcile_v the_o world_n to_o himself_o and_o how_o god_n be_v set_v upon_o the_o work_n of_o peace_n lay_v they_o to_o your_o heart_n and_o when_o no_o other_o argument_n will_v move_v the_o consideration_n of_o that_o through_o the_o blessing_n of_o god_n will_v do_v it_o and_o that_o be_v for_o the_o second_o point_n in_o the_o three_o place_n the_o gospel_n hold_v forth_o the_o infinite_a mercy_n of_o god_n to_o miserable_a creature_n when_o man_n be_v plunge_v into_o such_o a_o depth_n of_o misery_n nothing_o but_o bowel_n of_o mercy_n do_v move_v god_n to_o help_v man_n out_o of_o that_o depth_n of_o misery_n that_o they_o be_v plunge_v into_o and_o though_o man_n be_v unworthy_a of_o mercy_n god_n mercy_n be_v free_a yea_o and_o it_o be_v a_o transcendent_a mercy_n of_o god_n the_o mercy_n of_o god_n be_v over_o all_o his_o work_n the_o heathen_n can_v understand_v that_o god_n be_v a_o merciful_a god_n the_o light_n
of_o nature_n will_v tell_v we_o something_o of_o the_o mercy_n of_o god_n but_o there_o be_v nothing_o that_o set_v out_o the_o bowel_n of_o god_n mercy_n so_o as_o the_o gospel_n of_o jesus_n christ_n do_v there_o you_o have_v the_o very_a bowel_n of_o god_n mercy_n indeed_o make_v legible_a to_o all_o the_o world_n in_o luke_n 1._o 78._o through_o the_o tender_a mercy_n of_o our_o god_n whereby_o the_o dayspring_n from_o on_o high_a have_v visit_v we_o the_o tender_a mercy_n of_o our_o god_n the_o bowel_n of_o mercy_n so_o the_o word_n be_v here_o be_v the_o depth_n of_o the_o bowel_n of_o mercy_n hold_v forth_o in_o the_o gospel_n of_o jesus_n christ_n it_o be_v impossible_a that_o we_o can_v have_v understand_v the_o depth_n of_o those_o bowel_n of_o mercy_n but_o by_o the_o gospel_n adam_n in_o innocency_n know_v little_a of_o the_o mercy_n of_o god_n for_o he_o not_o be_v in_o misery_n have_v no_o need_n of_o that_o mercy_n to_o help_v out_o of_o misery_n but_o though_o he_o by_o his_o understanding_n must_v needs_o know_v that_o mercy_n be_v a_o good_a thing_n and_o therefore_o in_o god_n the_o first_o be_v of_o all_o but_o yet_o he_o do_v not_o understand_v that_o mercy_n that_o the_o gospel_n hold_v forth_o yea_o the_o angel_n in_o heaven_n know_v it_o not_o but_o by_o the_o gospel_n and_o so_o they_o desire_v to_o pry_v into_o those_o deep_a mercy_n of_o god_n unto_o man_n kind_a oh_o here_o be_v the_o mercy_n of_o god_n that_o shall_v be_v the_o subject_n of_o the_o praise_n of_o angel_n and_o of_o the_o saint_n to_o all_o eternity_n hold_v forth_o in_o the_o gospel_n you_o think_v it_o be_v a_o great_a mercy_n when_o a_o child_n be_v sick_a that_o god_n recover_v it_o you_o think_v it_o be_v a_o great_a mercy_n when_o you_o be_v at_o sea_n that_o god_n turn_v the_o wind_n when_o if_o it_o have_v stand_v but_o one_o half_a hour_n more_o that_o way_n it_o do_v you_o have_v lose_v vessel_n life_n and_o all_o when_o you_o have_v be_v in_o any_o danger_n abroad_o in_o foreign_a part_n that_o the_o lord_n be_v a_o present_a help_n in_o time_n of_o trouble_n when_o there_o have_v be_v any_o affliction_n upon_o either_o family_n mercy_n or_o personal_a mercy_n thus_o to_o meditate_v lord_n i_o be_o less_o i_o be_o less_o than_o the_o least_o of_o all_o thy_o mercy_n yet_o here_o be_v seasonable_a comfortable_a mercy_n to_o i_o and_o i_o etc._n etc._n but_o o_o lord_n what_o be_v all_o this_o to_o that_o infinite_a fountain_n of_o mercy_n in_o christ_n thy_o mercy_n in_o the_o gospel_n thy_o mercy_n in_o thy_o son_n there_o be_v depth_n infinite_a depth_n of_o mercy_n indeed_o this_o be_v but_o a_o drop_n and_o indeed_o that_o be_v sweet_a but_o the_o infinite_a ocean_n of_o mercy_n it_o be_v in_o jesus_n christ_n christ_n be_v the_o mercy_n of_o god_n to_o mankind_n in_o the_o bowel_n of_o which_o all_o other_o mercy_n be_v conceive_v and_o bring_v forth_o in_o the_o world_n all_o my_o fresh_a spring_n both_o upper_a and_o nether_a spring_n be_v in_o he_o who_o be_v all_o in_o all._n oh_o it_o be_v a_o good_a argument_n that_o the_o gospel_n be_v reveal_v to_o you_o if_o you_o be_v suitable_a to_o this_o what_o be_v that_o but_o as_o christ_n himself_o say_v be_v you_o merciful_a as_o your_o heavenly_a father_n be_v merciful_a oh_o have_v you_o a_o merciful_a heart_n one_o towards_o another_o look_v with_o a_o merciful_a eye_n upon_o those_o who_o be_v in_o great_a misery_n this_o be_v it_o that_o become_v the_o gospel_n of_o jesus_n christ_n oh_o a_o harsh_a rugged_a ready_a to_o forgive_v other_o and_o to_o do_v any_o thing_n for_o other_o that_o be_v in_o misery_n be_v devilish_a but_o to_o rejoice_v that_o they_o may_v have_v any_o object_n to_o show_v pity_n and_o compassion_n unto_o oh_o this_o be_v that_o which_o become_v the_o gospel_n of_o christ_n though_o they_o be_v stranger_n to_o you_o that_o be_v in_o misery_n yet_o be_v merciful_a to_o they_o for_o you_o be_v stranger_n to_o god_n yea_o be_v merciful_a to_o your_o enemy_n not_o only_o be_v willing_a to_o be_v at_o peace_n but_o be_v merciful_a do_v you_o see_v any_o that_o have_v wrong_v to_o that_o in_o col._n 3._o 13._o in_o the_o 4._o of_o the_o ephes_n there_o the_o apostle_n speak_v of_o the_o mercy_n of_o christ_n say_v he_o let_v all_o bitterness_n and_o wrath_n and_o anger_n and_o clamour_n and_o evil_a speak_n be_v put_v away_o from_o you_o with_o all_o malice_n and_o be_v you_o kind_a one_o to_o another_o tender_a heart_a forgive_a one_o another_o even_o as_o god_n the_o husband_n as_o if_o he_o be_v another_o man_n and_o so_o your_o child_n and_o servant_n not_o the_o same_o that_o heretofore_o they_o be_v oh_o what_o honour_n will_v this_o be_v to_o the_o gospel_n that_o in_o place_n where_o it_o come_v to_o be_v preach_v in_o power_n there_o may_v appear_v a_o change_n that_o become_v the_o gospel_n of_o christ_n certain_o if_o your_o conversation_n be_v not_o such_o as_o hold_v forth_o a_o mighty_a change_n that_o god_n have_v wrought_v in_o you_o than_o it_o be_v not_o such_o as_o become_v the_o gospel_n of_o christ_n it_o may_v be_v you_o be_v somewhat_o better_o than_o heretofore_o you_o have_v be_v as_o not_o to_o be_v a_o common_a drunkard_n you_o see_v that_o be_v despise_v by_o man_n who_o regard_v drunken_a fool_n madman_n very_a beast_n therefore_o you_o come_v to_o be_v of_o more_o understanding_n that_o you_o will_v not_o be_v so_o profane_a and_o lascivious_a as_o you_o be_v wont_a to_o be_v but_o live_v somewhat_o different_a from_o what_o they_o be_v before_o sometime_o we_o see_v it_o so_o through_o the_o mercy_n of_o god_n that_o when_o man_n and_o woman_n come_v to_o hear_v the_o word_n in_o the_o be_v before_o before_o you_o make_v some_o profession_n only_o your_o profession_n now_o be_v great_a than_o it_o be_v before_o but_o your_o life_n no_o better_o know_v this_o be_v a_o conversation_n that_o do_v no_o way_n become_v the_o gospel_n of_o christ_n the_o gospel_n of_o christ_n have_v no_o honour_n by_o this_o conversation_n of_o you_o and_o then_o the_o great_a difference_n that_o the_o gospel_n make_v between_o one_o man_n and_o another_o as_o now_o those_o that_o the_o gospel_n do_v not_o prevail_v upon_o the_o scripture_n tell_v we_o they_o be_v the_o child_n of_o wrath_n they_o be_v dead_a in_o trespass_n and_o sin_n they_o be_v under_o the_o curse_n of_o the_o law_n they_o be_v even_o enemy_n to_o god_n this_o be_v the_o condition_n of_o all_o man_n before_o this_o sceptre_n of_o christ_n conquer_v their_o heart_n child_n of_o wrath_n enemy_n to_o god_n dead_a in_o sin_n under_o the_o curse_n but_o now_o when_o the_o gospel_n come_v to_o prevail_v over_o man_n heart_n than_o they_o come_v to_o be_v the_o child_n of_o the_o live_a god_n heir_n of_o christ_n coheir_n with_o he_o they_o come_v to_o be_v partaker_n of_o the_o life_n of_o god_n they_o increase_v with_o the_o increase_n of_o god_n and_o their_o life_n be_v hide_v with_o christ_n in_o god_n and_o they_o come_v to_o be_v reconcile_v to_o god_n to_o be_v friend_n with_o god_n to_o be_v at_o peace_n with_o god_n and_o to_o inherit_v blessing_n oh_o the_o change_n that_o the_o lord_n put_v upon_o the_o heart_n and_o state_n of_o the_o saint_n when_o the_o gospel_n prevail_v how_o high_a be_v they_o raise_v above_o other_o man_n therefore_o you_o must_v not_o make_v other_o man_n to_o be_v your_o example_n in_o your_o way_n you_o must_v not_o think_v to_o live_v as_o the_o world_n live_v and_o to_o say_v i_o do_v as_o other_o man_n do_v the_o gospel_n make_v a_o mighty_a difference_n between_o your_o estate_n and_o the_o state_n of_o other_o man_n therefore_o never_o look_v to_o what_o other_o man_n do_v but_o consider_v as_o god_n have_v make_v a_o vast_a difference_n between_o you_o and_o other_o man_n so_o let_v there_o be_v a_o great_a difference_n between_o your_o conversation_n and_o the_o conversation_n of_o other_o man_n now_o this_o meditation_n shall_v have_v a_o mighty_a deal_n of_o power_n to_o prevail_v upon_o the_o heart_n i_o believe_v that_o i_o have_v such_o and_o such_o privilege_n beyond_o other_o man_n and_o i_o look_v for_o such_o and_o such_o mercy_n above_o other_o now_o what_o thing_n i_o look_v for_o beyond_o other_o i_o must_v labour_v to_o be_v as_o much_o beyond_o they_o in_o holiness_n of_o conversation_n as_o god_n have_v make_v i_o beyond_o they_o in_o spiritual_a privilege_n and_o spiritual_a mercy_n i_o think_v sometime_o i_o will_v not_o be_v in_o the_o condition_n of_o such_o man_n as_o be_v in_o their_o natural_a estate_n for_o a_o world_n nay_o i_o will_v not_o be_v one_o our_o in_o their_o estate_n if_o i_o may_v have_v ten_o thousand_o world_n for_o fear_v i_o shall_v die_v that_o hour_n and_o then_o i_o shall_v be_v lose_v for_o ever_o well_o have_v god_n make_v such_o a_o difference_n then_o let_v not_o my_o life_n be_v like_o they_o for_o one_o hour_n nay_o for_o one_o moment_n oh_o this_o meditation_n through_o god_n blessing_n will_v mighty_o help_v we_o in_o our_o conversation_n our_o conversation_n shall_v be_v such_o as_o become_v the_o ordinance_n of_o the_o gospel_n the_o word_n and_o sacrament_n they_o have_v a_o great_a deal_n more_o in_o they_o than_o the_o ordinance_n of_o the_o law_n but_o because_o i_o speak_v of_o the_o gospel_n be_v high_o than_o the_o law_n heretofore_o and_o these_o thing_n may_v fall_v something_o near_o yet_o have_v i_o time_n i_o will_v speak_v a_o little_a concern_v these_o and_o show_v how_o we_o be_v to_o hold_v forth_o a_o conversation_n suitable_a to_o they_o our_o conversation_n shall_v be_v suitable_a to_o the_o power_n of_o the_o
