these_o two_o covenant_n or_o either_o of_o they_o therefore_o say_v they_o here_o be_v nothing_o but_o preach_v of_o the_o law_n thunder_v of_o the_o law_n when_o alas_o if_o these_o two_o be_v not_o hold_v forth_o to_o wit_n the_o covenant_n of_o work_n and_o the_o covenant_n of_o grace_n together_o with_o the_o nature_n of_o the_o one_o and_o the_o nature_n of_o the_o other_o soul_n will_v never_o be_v able_a neither_o to_o know_v what_o they_o be_v by_o nature_n nor_o what_o they_o lie_v under_o also_o neither_o can_v they_o understand_v what_o grace_n be_v nor_o how_o to_o come_v from_o under_o the_o law_n to_o meet_v god_n in_o and_o through_o that_o other_o most_o glorious_a covenant_n through_o which_o and_o only_o through_o which_o god_n can_v communicate_v of_o himself_o grace_n glory_n yea_o even_o all_o the_o good_a thing_n of_o another_o world_n i_o have_v consider_v these_o thing_n together_o with_o other_o have_v make_v bold_a to_o present_v yet_o once_o more_o to_o thy_o view_n my_o friend_n something_a of_o the_o mind_n of_o god_n to_o the_o end_n if_o it_o shall_v be_v but_o bless_v to_o thou_o thou_o may_v be_v benefit_v thereby_o for_o very_o these_o thing_n be_v not_o such_o as_o be_v ordinary_a and_o of_o small_a concernment_n but_o do_v absolute_o concern_v thou_o to_o know_v and_o that_o experimental_o too_o if_o ever_o thou_o do_v partake_v and_o condemn_a power_n of_o it_o by_o reason_n of_o their_o sin_n against_o it_o so_o long_o they_o will_v be_v careless_a and_o negligent_a as_o to_o the_o inquire_n after_o the_o true_a knowledge_n of_o the_o gospel_n before_o the_o commandment_n come_v that_o be_v in_o the_o spirituality_n of_o it_o paul_n be_v alive_a that_o be_v think_v himself_o safe_a which_o be_v clear_a rom._n 7._o 9_o feel_v the_o power_n of_o it_o and_o that_o effectual_o too_o he_o it_o be_v to_o be_v fear_v will_v at_o the_o best_a be_v but_o a_o notione_v in_o the_o gospel_n he_o will_v not_o have_v the_o experimental_a knowledge_n of_o the_o same_o in_o his_o heart_n nay_o he_o will_v not_o seek_v nor_o hearty_o desire_v after_o it_o and_o all_o because_o as_o i_o say_v before_o he_o have_v not_o the_o way_n for_o the_o direction_n of_o those_o soul_n that_o will_v come_v to_o christ_n i_o shall_v return_v to_o the_o former_a discourse_n wherein_o arise_v this_o objection_n object_n but_o you_o do_v but_o even_o now_o put_v soul_n upon_o fulfil_v the_o first_o condition_n of_o the_o gospel_n even_o to_o believe_v in_o christ_n and_o so_o be_v save_v but_o now_o you_o say_v it_o be_v alone_o by_o grace_n without_o condition_n and_o therefore_o by_o these_o word_n there_o be_v first_o a_o contradiction_n to_o your_o former_a say_n and_o also_o that_o man_n may_v be_v save_v without_o the_o condition_n of_o faith_n which_o to_o i_o seem_v a_o very_a strange_a thing_n i_o desire_v therefore_o that_o you_o will_v clear_v out_o what_o you_o have_v say_v as_o to_o my_o satisfaction_n answ._n though_o there_o be_v a_o condition_n command_v in_o the_o gospel_n yet_o he_o that_o command_v the_o condition_n do_v not_o leave_v his_o child_n to_o their_o own_o natural_a business_n be_v serious_o to_o inquire_v whether_o you_o be_v under_o the_o first_o or_o second_o covenant_n for_o unless_o you_o be_v under_o the_o second_o you_o will_v never_o be_v regard_v of_o the_o lord_n for_o as_o much_o as_o you_o be_v a_o sinner_n heb._n 89._o and_o the_o rather_o because_o if_o god_n shall_v be_v so_o good_a to_o you_o as_o to_o give_v you_o a_o share_n in_o the_o second_o you_o shall_v have_v all_o your_o sin_n pardon_v and_o for_o certain_a have_v eternal_a life_n though_o you_o have_v be_v a_o great_a sinner_n but_o do_v not_o expect_v that_o thou_o shall_v have_v any_o part_n or_o share_v in_o the_o large_a promise_n and_o mercy_n of_o god_n for_o the_o benefit_n and_o comfort_n of_o thy_o poor_a soul_n whilst_o thou_o be_v under_o the_o old_a be_v make_v alive_a by_o the_o faith_n of_o jesus_n christ._n when_o man_n be_v kill_v they_o be_v kill_v to_o all_o thing_n they_o live_v to_o before_o both_o sin_n and_o righteousness_n as_o all_o their_o old_a faith_n and_o suppose_a grace_n that_o they_o think_v they_o have_v indeed_o the_o old_a covenant_n will_v show_v thou_o that_o thou_o be_v a_o sinner_n and_o that_o a_o great_a one_o too_o but_o the_o old_a covenant_n the_o law_n will_v not_o show_v thou_o without_o the_o help_n of_o the_o spirit_n that_o thou_o be_v without_o all_o grace_n by_o nature_n no_o but_o in_o the_o midst_n of_o thy_o trouble_n thou_o will_v keep_v thyself_o from_o come_v to_o christ_n by_o persuade_v thy_o soul_n that_o thou_o be_v come_v already_o and_o have_v some_o grace_n already_o o_o therefore_o be_v earnest_a in_o beg_v the_o spirit_n that_o thy_o soul_n may_v be_v enlighten_v and_o the_o wickedness_n of_o thy_o heart_n discover_v that_o thou_o may_v see_v the_o miserable_a
