punishment_n for_o so_o many_o year_n and_o day_n as_o it_o be_v to_o continue_v how_o many_o that_o be_v you_o must_v inquire_v of_o st_n michael_n the_o church_n know_v not_o that_o but_o yet_o sure_o she_o be_v that_o many_o soul_n shall_v continue_v in_o purgatory_n till_o the_o day_n of_o judgement_n so_o there_o shall_v be_v the_o same_o period_n of_o the_o world_n and_o of_o their_o torment_n these_o have_v a_o hard_a time_n of_o it_o it_o be_v easy_o haply_o with_o other_o but_o be_v it_o as_o it_o will_v be_v such_o as_o these_o pay_v the_o utmost_a farthing_n where_o they_o endure_v in_o the_o flame_n of_o purgatory_n so_o long_o till_o the_o time_n of_o their_o whole_a punishment_n be_v run_v out_o then_o god_n be_v satisfy_v and_o they_o deliver_v 2._o by_o buy_v out_o this_o punishment_n by_o some_o other_o satisfactory_a price_n for_o although_o god_n can_v so_o have_v order_v it_o that_o every_o soul_n be_v once_o in_o purgatory_n shall_v suffer_v all_o the_o temporal_a punishment_n due_a yet_o he_o be_v content_a to_o be_v entreat_v to_o commute_v penance_n and_o take_v some_o other_o valueable_a consideration_n by_o way_n of_o satisfaction_n for_o this_o punishment_n but_o this_o satisfactory_a payment_n can_v be_v make_v by_o the_o soul_n themselves_o it_o must_v be_v make_v by_o some_o on_o earth_n for_o they_o which_o be_v do_v 1._o either_o by_o laborious_a work_n of_o any_o one_o just_a and_o godly_a catholic_a whether_o he_o be_v a_o friend_n of_o the_o decease_a or_o other_o touch_v with_o a_o charitable_a pity_n towards_o a_o poor_a soul_n who_o by_o store_n of_o devout_a prayer_n alm_n mass_n pilgrimage_n sound_v of_o coveâ—ts_n and_o hospital_n etc._n etc._n may_v procure_v a_o gaoledelivery_n for_o that_o soul_n for_o which_o he_o intend_v those_o good_a work_n 2._o or_o by_o the_o pope_n who_o be_v purse-bearer_n to_o the_o church_n and_o have_v the_o treasury_n thereof_o under_o lock_n and_o key_n he_o now_o though_o he_o can_v direct_o absolve_v the_o soul_n in_o purgatory_n from_o their_o punishment_n as_o he_o can_v man_n live_v on_o the_o earth_n yet_o he_o may_v help_v they_o another_o way_n by_o bestow_v on_o they_o so_o much_o of_o the_o superfluous_a suffering_n of_o christ_n and_o of_o the_o saint_n that_o thereby_o god_n justice_n may_v be_v satisfy_v for_o the_o whole_a punishment_n which_o otherwise_o they_o shall_v have_v endure_v yea_o such_o be_v the_o power_n of_o his_o indulgence_n to_o infuse_v a_o virtue_n into_o such_o and_o such_o altâ—â—_n shrine_v 〈◊〉_d etc._n etc._n that_o whosoever_o shall_v frequent_v such_o place_n or_o use_v such_o prayer_n all_o compliment_n due_o observe_v he_o may_v at_o his_o pleasure_n free_a one_o two_o three_o or_o more_o soul_n our_o of_o spiritual_a pick_n lock_v which_o the_o pope_n have_v in_o keep_v all_o which_o be_v very_o proper_o prove_v by_o the_o former_a place_n of_o scripture_n and_o other_o also_o be_v it_o needful_a now_o to_o allege_v they_o but_o thus_o we_o see_v the_o catholic_n be_v every_o way_n furnish_v for_o satisfaction_n that_o what_o christ_n have_v not_o do_v for_o they_o they_o can_v do_v for_o themselves_o either_o to_o suffer_v and_o overcome_v the_o temporal_a punishment_n of_o their_o sin_n or_o else_o which_o be_v the_o easy_a course_n to_o buy_v out_o that_o punishment_n at_o a_o valuable_a price_n of_o other_o satisfactionary_a work_n wherewith_o god_n justice_n shall_v be_v abundant_o content_v now_o whereas_o those_o who_o they_o term_v heretic_n cry_v out_o aloud_o that_o such_o satisfaction_n to_o god_n justice_n be_v indeed_o no_o satisfaction_n at_o all_o because_o they_o be_v no_o way_n equal_a unto_o the_o offence_n commit_v and_o so_o no_o full_a recompense_n of_o wrong_n offer_v unto_o god_n for_o the_o assoil_a of_o this_o doubt_n they_o give_v we_o this_o distinction_n very_o necessary_a to_o be_v observe_v satisfaction_n be_v double_a 1._o consist_v in_o
