wonder_n that_o his_o heart_n be_v not_o carry_v forth_o in_o desire_n after_o they_o the_o affection_n follow_v the_o apprehension_n of_o the_o mind_n if_o a_o man_n do_v not_o apprehend_v future_a thing_n to_o be_v real_a or_o certain_a it_o be_v no_o wonder_n if_o he_o do_v not_o affect_v they_o now_o the_o great_a part_n of_o man_n look_v upon_o nothing_o as_o real_a or_o certain_a but_o what_o be_v obvious_a and_o present_a to_o sense_n they_o doubt_v and_o suspect_v the_o truth_n of_o all_o that_o which_o be_v speak_v concern_v a_o future_a life_n and_o a_o future_a state_n a_o man_n will_v never_o part_v with_o or_o forgo_v a_o certain_a good_a for_o a_o uncertain_a riches_n honour_n pleasure_n the_o comfort_n of_o this_o life_n man_n look_v upon_o as_o present_v and_o certain_a but_o the_o joy_n of_o heaven_n the_o blessedness_n that_o be_v above_o the_o pleasure_n that_o be_v at_o god_n right_a hand_n they_o look_v upon_o as_o thing_n at_o a_o distance_n and_o uncertain_a and_o therefore_o they_o will_v not_o quit_v their_o interest_n in_o present_a thing_n for_o the_o hope_n of_o future_a thing_n this_o evil_a heart_n of_o unbelief_n in_o man_n be_v that_o which_o cause_v they_o to_o depart_v from_o the_o live_a god_n and_o this_o unbelief_n be_v too_o prevalent_a in_o the_o heart_n of_o the_o godly_a themselves_o the_o holy_a man_n and_o those_o that_o have_v most_o grace_n be_v most_o sensible_a of_o the_o budding_n and_o putting_n forth_o of_o unbelief_n within_o they_o although_o they_o do_v not_o question_v the_o truth_n of_o the_o future_a life_n and_o of_o the_o future_a state_n as_o other_o man_n do_v yet_o they_o complain_v that_o they_o do_v too_o often_o find_v secret_a doubt_n arise_v in_o their_o heart_n about_o these_o thing_n and_o although_o there_o be_v a_o seed_n of_o faith_n yet_o it_o be_v not_o so_o actuate_v as_o it_o ought_v to_o be_v for_o if_o we_o have_v such_o a_o firm_a and_o deep_a belief_n about_o future_a thing_n as_o we_o ought_v it_o be_v not_o possible_a that_o we_o shall_v be_v so_o much_o captivate_v by_o present_a thing_n as_o we_o be_v certain_o the_o deep_a root_v steadfast_a belief_n of_o eternal_a thing_n will_v produce_v other_o effect_n and_o another_o kind_n of_o change_n then_o what_o be_v find_v in_o the_o most_o of_o our_o heart_n it_o be_v not_o possible_a we_o shall_v live_v as_o we_o do_v have_v we_o a_o clear_a prospect_n by_o faith_n of_o eternal_a thing_n therefore_o as_o ever_o we_o desire_v to_o be_v heavenly-minded_n we_o must_v pray_v that_o this_o evil_a root_n of_o unbelief_n may_v be_v eradicate_v and_o take_v out_o of_o we_o and_o we_o shall_v pray_v 1._o that_o god_n will_v clear_v up_o the_o eye_n of_o our_o faith_n that_o we_o may_v more_o clear_o discern_v and_o apprehend_v the_o thing_n contain_v in_o the_o promise_n 2._o we_o shall_v pray_v that_o we_o may_v give_v a_o more_o firm_a assent_n to_o the_o truth_n of_o the_o promise_n concern_v future_a thing_n and_o may_v not_o stagger_v at_o the_o promise_n through_o unbelief_n 3._o we_o shall_v pray_v that_o we_o may_v live_v much_o in_o the_o hope_n and_o expectation_n of_o the_o accomplishment_n of_o the_o thing_n contain_v in_o the_o promise_n it_o be_v a_o proper_a scripture_n to_o illustrate_v this_o rom._n 8.25_o we_o be_v save_v by_o hope_n the_o meaning_n of_o that_o scripture_n i_o take_v to_o be_v the_o grace_n of_o hope_n do_v gradual_o bring_v we_o into_o the_o possession_n of_o salvation_n therefore_o do_v the_o apostle_n say_v if_o we_o hope_v for_o that_o of_o more_o experience_n in_o divine_a and_o heavenly_a consolation_n he_o that_o have_v taste_v of_o the_o sweetness_n of_o god_n presence_n here_o on_o earth_n can_v but_o be_v meditate_v and_o long_v after_o the_o full_a enjoyment_n of_o that_o presence_n hereafter_o it_o be_v report_v of_o austin_n in_o his_o life_n that_o his_o desire_n be_v not_o so_o much_o of_o any_o thing_n here_o on_o earth_n not_o of_o gold_n or_o silver_n or_o precious_a stone_n not_o of_o honour_n or_o dignity_n or_o of_o the_o pleasure_n of_o the_o flesh_n nay_o not_o so_o much_o of_o those_o thing_n as_o be_v necessary_a to_o the_o present_a life_n but_o all_o his_o desire_n it_o be_v of_o the_o lord_n himself_o who_o name_n be_v a_o refreshment_n to_o he_o and_o the_o memory_n of_o who_o be_v his_o consolation_n they_o be_v expression_n that_o he_o himself_o use_v lord_n say_v he_o since_o i_o have_v learn_v thou_o thou_o abide_v in_o my_o memory_n there_o do_v i_o find_v thou_o when_o i_o
