conversation_n among_o man_n to_o this_o day_n that_o you_o have_v not_o your_o conversation_n among_o devil_n and_o reprobate_n it_o may_v have_v be_v your_o portion_n that_o your_o conversation_n may_v have_v be_v among_o devil_n and_o reprobate_n god_n may_v have_v send_v you_o down_o to_o your_o own_o place_n to_o have_v converse_v with_o they_o let_v this_o be_v a_o argument_n for_o you_o to_o look_v to_o your_o conversation_n 2._o arg._n second_o consider_v this_o wicked_a and_o carnal_a man_n among_o who_o you_o live_v have_v no_o skill_n in_o the_o principle_n that_o you_o walk_v by_o but_o they_o have_v skill_n in_o your_o life_n and_o conversation_n they_o be_v able_a to_o pass_v judgement_n upon_o your_o life_n and_o conversation_n but_o not_o of_o your_o principle_n godly_a people_n be_v act_v by_o such_o and_o such_o principle_n that_o be_v mystery_n to_o carnal_a man_n but_o when_o it_o come_v to_o their_o life_n they_o can_v understand_v they_o they_o can_v search_v into_o their_o principle_n whether_o such_o a_o doctrine_n be_v true_a or_o no_o or_o such_o a_o thing_n be_v according_a to_o such_o a_o scripture_n whether_o there_o be_v a_o right_a interpretation_n of_o such_o a_o scripture_n that_o carry_v they_o on_o in_o such_o a_o way_n they_o take_v no_o pain_n to_o look_v after_o this_o but_o they_o look_v to_o your_o life_n there_o they_o have_v skill_n to_o discern_v how_o you_o walk_v and_o whether_o you_o walk_v to_o the_o rule_n or_o not_o in_o your_o life_n and_o conversation_n and_o therefore_o let_v it_o be_v your_o great_a care_n to_o look_v to_o your_o conversation_n 3._o arg._n a_o three_o motive_n be_v this_o there_o be_v some_o thing_n that_o you_o can_v but_o do_v that_o will_v displease_v wicked_a man_n if_o you_o will_v act_v according_a to_o your_o principle_n well_o but_o this_o shall_v make_v thou_o so_o much_o the_o more_o careful_a of_o thy_o conversation_n in_o all_o other_o thing_n that_o so_o wicked_a man_n may_v be_v convince_v that_o if_o such_o man_n do_v some_o thing_n that_o i_o do_v not_o understand_v yet_o sure_o it_o be_v for_o some_o thing_n that_o god_n have_v make_v know_v to_o they_o more_o than_o to_o i_o for_o i_o find_v this_o that_o in_o all_o thing_n that_o i_o do_v understand_v there_o they_o walk_v exact_o therefore_o though_o there_o be_v some_o thing_n that_o they_o do_v that_o i_o can_v understand_v why_o shall_v i_o be_v enrage_v against_o they_o as_o now_o in_o point_n of_o institution_n of_o worship_n which_o do_v not_o depend_v upon_o the_o light_n of_o nature_n at_o all_o but_o mere_o upon_o scripture_n and_o such_o and_o such_o interpretation_n of_o scripture_n and_o such_o principle_n wicked_a man_n have_v no_o skill_n in_o now_o the_o professor_n of_o religion_n they_o be_v tie_v up_o by_o institution_n and_o by_o the_o word_n of_o scripture_n thus_o interpret_v which_o they_o think_v in_o their_o conscience_n be_v the_o truth_n they_o have_v compare_v all_o thing_n together_o think_v this_o be_v the_o mind_n of_o christ_n rather_o than_o the_o other_o and_o so_o long_o as_o they_o think_v thus_o they_o must_v follow_v it_o now_o there_o be_v many_o of_o these_o thing_n that_o carnal_a man_n understand_v not_o for_o they_o take_v no_o pain_n to_o search_v into_o they_o and_o therefore_o they_o will_v be_v angry_a with_o you_o for_o they_o and_o indeed_o they_o will_v have_v cause_n to_o be_v angry_a with_o you_o for_o those_o thing_n they_o understand_v not_o if_o they_o see_v you_o make_v no_o conscience_n of_o those_o thing_n that_o they_o understand_v but_o if_o in_o other_o thing_n that_o they_o do_v understand_v you_o walk_v circumspect_o and_o that_o it_o appear_v to_o they_o that_o in_o those_o thing_n they_o understand_v they_o walk_v conscionable_o than_o they_o will_v believe_v that_o it_o be_v mere_a conscience_n that_o make_v you_o differ_v from_o they_o in_o those_o thing_n which_o they_o understand_v not_o or_o have_v no_o skill_n in_o this_o will_v make_v they_o ready_a to_o stand_v for_o you_o yea_o to_o speak_v and_o plead_v for_o you_o no_o such_o way_n to_o get_v true_a liberty_n of_o conscience_n as_o this_o be_v if_o you_o be_v careful_a to_o walk_v blameleslie_o in_o all_o those_o thing_n that_o they_o understand_v with_o who_o you_o converse_v they_o will_v be_v convince_v in_o their_o conscience_n that_o if_o these_o man_n differ_v from_o we_o it_o be_v conscience_n that_o make_v they_o differ_v for_o say_v they_o we_o find_v that_o in_o all_o those_o thing_n we_o understand_v these_o man_n walk_v conscionablie_o certain_o a_o holy_a conversation_n will_v
make_v many_o man_n even_o carnal_a man_n themselves_o plead_v for_o liberty_n of_o conscience_n so_o far_o as_o thing_n be_v not_o destructive_a to_o godliness_n or_o the_o kingdom_n for_o such_o man_n they_o will_v say_v be_v they_o all_o such_o man_n as_o these_o man_n be_v they_o may_v very_o well_o be_v bear_v withal_o for_o they_o differ_v in_o nothing_o but_o that_o conscience_n put_v they_o upon_o say_v they_o for_o we_o find_v they_o in_o all_o their_o way_n square_a and_o just_a they_o walk_v conscionablie_o therefore_o be_v careful_a of_o your_o conversation_n because_o in_o some_o thing_n you_o can_v but_o do_v that_o which_o will_v displease_v wicked_a man_n 4._o arg._n fourthlie_o consider_v that_o your_o life_n be_v but_o short_a within_o a_o while_n you_o must_v have_v your_o conversation_n either_o among_o devil_n or_o angel_n one_o of_o the_o two_o and_o how_o soon_o it_o may_v be_v only_a god_n know_v now_o than_o i_o will_v appeal_v and_o put_v this_o to_o your_o conscience_n be_v your_o conversation_n now_o such_o as_o can_v give_v you_o comfort_n oh_o i_o hope_v within_o a_o while_n i_o shall_v have_v my_o conversation_n among_o angel_n i_o desire_v now_o that_o the_o will_n of_o god_n may_v be_v do_v in_o earth_n as_o it_o be_v in_o heaven_n and_o that_o my_o family_n and_o life_n be_v as_o it_o be_v a_o heaven_n i_o will_v fain_o have_v my_o conversation_n in_o heaven_n now_o and_o this_o give_v i_o some_o good_a hope_n that_o my_o conversation_n shall_v be_v with_o angel_n within_o a_o while_n but_o on_o the_o other_o side_n among_o devil_n why_o what_o be_v do_v among_o devil_n there_o be_v hatred_n religion_n and_o of_o god_n and_o of_o his_o saint_n there_o be_v rail_v and_o blaspheme_v the_o devil_n they_o accuse_v the_o brethren_n and_o blaspheme_v the_o name_n of_o god_n and_o what_o be_v your_o conversation_n otherwise_o than_o they_o know_v that_o your_o conversation_n be_v such_o as_o be_v a_o evident_a forerunner_n that_o if_o you_o continue_v as_o now_o you_o be_v that_o within_o a_o while_n your_o conversation_n will_v be_v among_o devil_n for_o that_o be_v the_o most_o suitable_a to_o you_o and_o my_o brethren_n consider_v further_o the_o eye_n of_o the_o world_n yea_o the_o eye_n of_o god_n and_o of_o christ_n and_o the_o angel_n be_v upon_o you_o to_o see_v how_o grace_n act_v in_o your_o your_o halt_n and_o they_o will_v rejoice_v to_o see_v any_o thing_n that_o they_o may_v have_v against_o you_o that_o place_n that_o we_o have_v before_o in_o 1_o pet._n 2._o 12._o where_o the_o holy_a ghost_n say_v that_o whereas_o they_o speak_v against_o you_o as_o evil_a doer_n they_o may_v by_o your_o good_a work_n which_o they_o shall_v behold_v glorify_v god_n in_o the_o day_n of_o visitation_n the_o word_n be_v thus_o that_o be_v behold_v with_o a_o narrow_a circumspection_n it_o be_v not_o only_o see_v but_o with_o a_o narrow_a circumspection_n oh_o it_o be_v a_o excellent_a thing_n that_o when_o wicked_a man_n bend_v their_o eye_n and_o look_v narrow_o upon_o the_o saint_n and_o will_v be_v glad_a and_o rejoice_v if_o they_o can_v find_v they_o halt_v yet_o that_o they_o be_v able_a to_o find_v nothing_o as_o it_o be_v say_v of_o christ_n the_o pharisee_n send_v to_o watch_v he_o but_o they_o can_v find_v nothing_o amiss_o in_o he_o and_o so_o though_o other_o shall_v be_v send_v on_o purpose_n to_o watch_v your_o life_n yet_o your_o life_n shall_v be_v so_o exact_a that_o they_o may_v find_v nothing_o amiss_o in_o you_o and_o i_o conclude_v all_o with_o that_o excellent_a promise_n that_o we_o have_v to_o such_o as_o be_v careful_a of_o their_o conversation_n in_o psalm_n 50._o 23._o these_o time_n you_o all_o cry_v out_o of_o as_o dangerous_a time_n mark_v that_o one_o scripture_n will_v help_v you_o that_o be_v careful_a of_o your_o conversation_n against_o the_o danger_n of_o the_o time_n wherein_o we_o live_v who_o see_v offer_v praise_n glorifi_v i_o and_o to_o he_o that_o order_v his_o conversation_n aright_o will_v i_o show_v the_o salvation_n of_o god_n these_o be_v time_n that_o you_o be_v call_v upon_o for_o praise_n and_o thanksgiving_n for_o mercy_n we_o be_v bind_v to_o do_v that_o but_o mark_v do_v not_o put_v off_o god_n with_o a_o verbal_a praise_n it_o be_v true_a he_o that_o offer_v praise_n honour_v i_o but_o yet_o together_o there_o must_v be_v a_o order_n of_o our_o conversation_n and_o to_o he_o that_o order_v his_o conversation_n aright_o will_v i_o shesh_v the_o salvation_n of_o god_n this_o be_v that_o which_o be_v require_v of_o christian_n to_o order_v their_o conversation_n aright_o oh_o it_o be_v a_o excellent_a thing_n to_o see_v the_o conversation_n of_o christian_n in_o due_a order_n all_o guide_v with_o spiritual_a wisdom_n and_o holiness_n oh_o that_o man_n or_o woman_n that_o be_v careful_a to_o order_v their_o conversation_n aright_o here_o be_v a_o promise_n to_o they_o that_o the_o lord_n will_v show_v they_o his_o salvation_n what_o ever_o time_n thou_o live_v in_o though_o never_o so_o dangerous_a though_o god_n appear_v never_o so_o dreadful_a in_o the_o time_n wherein_o thou_o live_v yet_o if_o thou_o can_v have_v but_o this_o testimony_n of_o thy_o conscience_n lord_n thou_o know_v it_o be_v the_o care_n of_o my_o soul_n not_o only_o to_o make_v profession_n of_o religion_n but_o to_o order_v my_o conversation_n aright_o therefore_o lord_n save_v i_o in_o evil_a time_n lord_n show_v i_o thy_o salvation_n thou_o may_v take_v this_o promise_n and_o lay_v it_o to_o thy_o heart_n look_v at_o those_o that_o be_v beneath_o you_o and_o in_o the_o low_a form_n as_o let_v your_o eye_n be_v upon_o those_o that_o be_v most_o eminent_a in_o their_o conversation_n look_v upon_o they_o rather_o as_o your_o mark_n and_o aim_v many_o christian_n live_v and_o their_o conversation_n be_v very_o dark_a and_o no_o beauty_n at_o all_o in_o they_o why_o because_o they_o think_v they_o live_v as_o other_o do_v they_o look_v upon_o such_o be_v beneath_o they_o and_o they_o think_v their_o life_n be_v rather_o better_o than_o some_o other_o that_o have_v make_v profession_n and_o this_o make_v they_o go_v on_o in_o a_o dull_a and_o sluggish_a way_n but_o now_o if_o you_o will_v have_v your_o conversation_n indeed_o as_o it_o ought_v so_o as_o to_o be_v convince_a set_v before_o you_o the_o example_n of_o the_o most_o eminent_a of_o those_o who_o conversation_n do_v most_o glister_n not_o a_o mere_a glister_a show_n i_o do_v not_o mean_v they_o but_o that_o glister_v that_o come_v from_o diamond_n and_o gold_n and_o pearl_n that_o have_v the_o excellency_n of_o grace_n shine_v in_o their_o very_a face_n and_o conversation_n set_v they_o before_o you_o and_o labour_n to_o imitate_v they_o and_o so_o this_o will_v help_v you_o in_o your_o conversation_n we_o have_v in_o heb._n 13._o 7._o a_o scripture_n for_o this_o remember_v they_o which_o have_v the_o rule_n over_o you_o who_o have_v speak_v unto_o you_o the_o word_n of_o god_n who_o faith_n follow_v consider_v the_o end_n of_o their_o conversation_n it_o be_v suppose_v that_o they_o shall_v be_v most_o eminent_a such_o as_o have_v the_o rule_n over_o they_o that_o be_v their_o guide_v but_o mark_v he_o speak_v of_o those_o that_o have_v speak_v unto_o they_o the_o word_n of_o god_n for_o he_o do_v not_o speak_v of_o the_o ruler_n in_o civil_a state_n but_o of_o the_o minister_n that_o be_v their_o guide_v for_o so_o the_o word_n be_v now_o though_o there_o be_v a_o work_n of_o rule_v beside_o teach_v we_o find_v in_o scripture_n yet_o we_o find_v no_o rule_n of_o any_o minister_n but_o over_o those_o that_o they_o speak_v the_o word_n of_o god_n unto_o what_o rule_v any_o minister_n have_v i_o say_v it_o be_v over_o such_o people_n as_o he_o speak_v the_o word_n of_o god_n to_o if_o any_o minister_n shall_v come_v to_o rule_v over_o a_o people_n that_o people_n may_v well_o ask_v they_o have_v you_o speak_v the_o word_n of_o god_n to_o we_o do_v you_o teach_v we_o the_o word_n of_o god_n do_v you_o challenge_v rule_n over_o we_o and_o have_v not_o speak_v the_o word_n of_o god_n to_o we_o remember_v they_o which_o have_v the_o rule_n over_o you_o who_o have_v speak_v unto_o you_o the_o word_n of_o god_n who_o faith_n follow_v consider_v the_o end_n of_o their_o conversation_n they_o be_v it_o seem_v eminent_a in_o holiness_n of_o life_n and_o eminent_a so_o as_o they_o continue_v in_o that_o way_n of_o eminency_n and_o the_o apostle_n will_v have_v and_o that_o all_o those_o that_o they_o speak_v the_o word_n of_o god_n to_o shall_v see_v in_o their_o conversation_n the_o beauty_n and_o the_o excellency_n of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n that_o they_o speak_v to_o they_o for_o people_n look_v at_o the_o life_n of_o minister_n as_o well_o as_o at_o their_o word_n it_o be_v not_o enough_o only_o to_o be_v a_o good_a man_n in_o the_o pulpit_n except_o it_o be_v in_o the_o constant_a way_n of_o their_o conversation_n the_o seven_o and_o last_o rule_n you_o have_v it_o here_o in_o this_o scripture_n heb._n 13._o 7._o who_o faith_n follow_v consider_v the_o end_n of_o their_o conversation_n that_o be_v be_v not_o only_o careful_a of_o your_o conversation_n at_o first_o when_o you_o begin_v to_o be_v professor_n of_o religion_n then_o degree_n they_o grow_v more_o loose_a and_o especial_o in_o these_o time_n because_o in_o these_o time_n there_o be_v a_o way_n that_o the_o devil_n have_v to_o get_v man_n to_o be_v loose_a in_o their_o conversation_n that_o have_v not_o be_v know_v in_o england_n indeed_o in_o germany_n it_o be_v know_v and_o there_o it_o be_v ordinary_o in_o the_o begin_n of_o luther_n reformation_n that_o it_o be_v weakness_n in_o man_n to_o make_v conscience_n of_o duty_n to_o be_v trouble_v for_o their_o sin_n and_o be_v humble_v paul_n and_o peter_n and_o david_n it_o be_v their_o weakness_n when_o they_o be_v trouble_v so_o much_o for_o their_o sin_n oh_o this_o be_v a_o most_o horrid_a and_o abominable_a wickedness_n that_o do_v dishonour_v the_o gospel_n of_o christ_n and_o will_v make_v it_o ridiculous_a to_o the_o world_n i_o say_v such_o carriage_n of_o people_n to_o think_v that_o they_o may_v take_v liberty_n to_o walk_v in_o a_o loose_a way_n because_o of_o the_o gospel_n
but_o that_o we_o shall_v come_v more_o full_o to_o when_o we_o speak_v how_o our_o conversation_n shall_v be_v become_v the_o gospel_n of_o christ_n but_o i_o speak_v this_o in_o this_o point_n as_o a_o preparation_n to_o that_o &_o especial_o to_o young_a professor_n that_o have_v be_v wrought_v upon_o by_o the_o word_n within_o these_o few_o year_n since_o there_o have_v be_v more_o freedom_n of_o preach_v the_o gospel_n and_o i_o very_o believe_v that_o divers_a of_o you_o in_o this_o congregation_n do_v know_v many_o young_a one_o and_o other_o that_o have_v be_v wrought_v upon_o by_o the_o ministry_n of_o the_o word_n that_o for_o the_o first_o year_n be_v very_o exact_a and_o very_o careful_a of_o their_o life_n and_o very_o punctual_a in_o every_o thing_n but_o you_o now_o see_v they_o begin_v to_o grow_v loose_a and_o wanton_a and_o vain_a in_o their_o conversation_n oh_o this_o be_v a_o sad_a and_o a_o evil_a thing_n if_o you_o will_v be_v careful_a of_o your_o conversation_n observe_v this_o seven_o rule_n be_v not_o only_o careful_a at_o the_o first_o work_n of_o god_n upon_o you_o when_o you_o begin_v to_o be_v enlighten_v but_o in_o the_o constant_a course_n of_o your_o life_n oh_o give_v i_o a_o professor_n of_o religion_n that_o be_v wrought_v upon_o when_o he_o be_v a_o youth_n or_o a_o young_a maid_n and_o yet_o continue_v till_o they_o be_v old_a disciple_n in_o a_o constant_a way_n of_o holiness_n and_o strictness_n oh_o they_o be_v the_o most_o beautiful_a object_n that_o be_v in_o the_o world_n to_o behold_v the_o sun_n in_o the_o firmament_n be_v not_o so_o glorious_a as_o a_o ancient_a professor_n of_o religion_n that_o have_v continue_v constant_a in_o the_o way_n of_o godliness_n from_o his_o youth_n that_o can_v say_v as_o good_a obadiah_n once_o say_v 1_o king_n 18._o 12._o i_o have_v fear_v the_o lord_n from_o my_o youth_n and_o my_o conscience_n though_o it_o tell_v i_o of_o many_o fail_n and_o weakness_n yet_o my_o conscience_n excuse_v i_o in_o this_o that_o i_o have_v endeavour_v with_o a_o good_a conscience_n to_o walk_v with_o god_n and_o without_o offence_n to_o man_n and_o not_o give_v way_n to_o myself_o in_o any_o way_n of_o looseness_n since_o god_n make_v know_v himself_o to_o i_o oh_o such_o may_v have_v a_o abundance_n entrance_n into_o the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n and_o die_v with_o abundance_n of_o comfort_n but_o thus_o much_o for_o this_o first_o point_n that_o christian_n ought_v to_o be_v careful_a of_o their_o conversation_n we_o come_v now_o to_o the_o second_o and_o that_o be_v the_o main_a point_n in_o the_o text._n let_v your_o conversation_n be_v as_o become_v the_o gospel_n of_o christ_n 2._o doct._n every_o kind_n of_o conversation_n of_o professor_n be_v not_o enough_o it_o must_v rise_v to_o that_o height_n as_o must_v be_v suitable_a to_o the_o gospel_n of_o christ_n meet_v for_o the_o gospel_n that_o they_o do_v profess_v that_o be_v our_o point_n now_o we_o shall_v come_v to_o the_o particular_n what_o conversation_n it_o be_v that_o be_v meet_v for_o the_o gospel_n of_o christ_n i_o give_v you_o the_o head_n in_o the_o open_n of_o it_o but_o now_o i_o shall_v speak_v to_o they_o first_o that_o conversation_n that_o be_v meet_v and_o become_v the_o gospel_n of_o christ_n must_v be_v a_o conversation_n raise_v to_o a_o high_a degree_n than_o the_o light_n of_o nature_n will_v raise_v it_o that_o conversation_n that_o be_v no_o high_a than_o possible_o may_v be_v raise_v by_o the_o light_n of_o nature_n certain_o that_o be_v not_o a_o conversation_n become_v the_o gospel_n of_o christ_n that_o be_v beneath_o not_o fit_a for_o the_o gospel_n of_o christ_n as_o thus_o suppose_v a_o man_n in_o his_o boat_n here_o in_o the_o thames_n row_n very_o exact_o i_o but_o this_o be_v not_o a_o work_n suitable_a to_o show_v the_o skill_n of_o a_o navigator_n of_o one_o that_o profess_v the_o art_n of_o navigation_n it_o be_v beneath_o that_o why_o so_o to_o live_v exact_o according_a to_o the_o light_n of_o nature_n it_o be_v beneath_o the_o conversation_n that_o become_v the_o gospel_n of_o christ_n if_o so_o be_v that_o a_o man_n shall_v make_v his_o boast_n that_o he_o have_v great_a skill_n in_o the_o art_n of_o navigation_n and_o how_o will_v he_o show_v this_o skill_n he_o will_v go_v into_o a_o boat_n and_o there_o he_o will_v row_v over_o the_o thames_n and_o by_o that_o you_o may_v see_v what_o a_o mighty_a navigator_n he_o be_v this_o will_v be_v ridiculous_a to_o any_o man_n and_o so_o if_o one_o that_o profess_v the_o gospel_n of_o christ_n will_v manifest_v that_o he_o be_v a_o good_a christian_a what_o do_v he_o do_v the_o life_n that_o he_o live_v it_o be_v no_o other_o than_o a_o man_n by_o the_o light_n of_o nature_n may_v be_v enable_v to_o this_o be_v even_o as_o ridiculous_a as_o the_o other_o 1._o as_o now_o for_o instance_n the_o light_n of_o nature_n that_o will_v teach_v this_o that_o we_o be_v to_o worship_n god_n the_o heathen_n have_v worship_v god_n in_o their_o way_n 2._o yea_o the_o light_n of_o nature_n will_v teach_v that_o we_o must_v live_v just_o among_o man_n yea_o and_o that_o we_o must_v do_v as_o we_o will_v be_v do_v to_o this_o the_o light_n of_o nature_n will_v teach_v many_o of_o the_o heathen_n have_v have_v that_o principle_n to_o be_v just_a with_o man_n to_o do_v as_o we_o will_v be_v do_v by_o the_o light_n of_o nature_n condemn_v gross_a sin_n of_o drunkenness_n adultery_n swear_v etc._n etc._n i_o can_v give_v you_o many_o instance_n in_o the_o law_n of_o heathen_n punish_v those_o sin_n very_o severe_o and_o some_o of_o they_o with_o death_n 3._o yea_o the_o light_n of_o nature_n will_v rise_v thus_o high_a that_o a_o man_n shall_v be_v conscientious_a shall_v make_v conscience_n of_o secret_a sin_n of_o sin_n that_o none_o in_o the_o world_n can_v know_v of_o or_o be_v ever_o like_a to_o know_v of_o as_o i_o remember_v sometime_o i_o have_v tell_v you_o of_o one_o of_o the_o heathen_n that_o do_v but_o owe_v for_o a_o pair_n of_o shoe_n to_o a_o shoe_n maker_n and_o no_o body_n know_v it_o but_o only_o the_o shoemaker_n himself_o the_o shoemaker_n die_v no_o body_n can_v challenge_v this_o of_o he_o yet_o his_o conscience_n will_v never_o let_v he_o be_v at_o quiet_a until_o he_o run_v and_o throw_v the_o money_n into_o the_o shop_n and_o say_v though_o he_o be_v dead_a to_o other_o yet_o he_o be_v not_o dead_a to_o i_o whereas_o he_o have_v a_o temptation_n to_o have_v keep_v it_o because_o no_o body_n can_v challenge_v it_o he_o know_v it_o be_v not_o he_o he_o know_v it_o be_v either_o the_o child_n or_o executor_n and_o so_o he_o restortd_v it_o many_o particular_n may_v be_v name_v to_o show_v how_o far_o we_o may_v go_v by_o the_o light_n of_o nature_n but_o now_o i_o only_o bring_v it_o in_o to_o this_o end_n to_o show_v that_o if_o we_o will_v have_v our_o conversation_n such_o as_o become_v the_o gospel_n of_o christ_n we_o must_v go_v beyond_o what_o ever_o any_o have_v do_v by_o the_o light_n of_o nature_n and_o yet_o oh_o lord_n how_o short_a do_v many_o professor_n of_o religion_n come_v of_o this_o how_o many_o that_o will_v profess_v they_o hope_v to_o be_v save_v by_o christ_n i_o suppose_v there_o be_v not_o any_o one_o in_o this_o congregation_n or_o if_o i_o shall_v go_v to_o every_o one_o house_n that_o belong_v to_o the_o parish_n they_o will_v say_v they_o hope_v to_o be_v save_v by_o jesus_n christ_n and_o yet_o what_o worship_n of_o god_n be_v there_o and_o what_o justice_n be_v there_o among_o man_n to_o do_v as_o they_o will_v be_v do_v by_o nay_o this_o be_v a_o rule_n that_o will_v examine_v many_o professor_n of_o religion_n and_o their_o conscience_n will_v tell_v they_o that_o in_o such_o and_o such_o thing_n they_o will_v be_v loath_a to_o be_v deal_v with_o as_o they_o deal_v with_o other_o and_o for_o gross_a sin_n many_o professor_n of_o religion_n break_v out_o into_o they_o also_o for_o all_o be_v a_o kind_n of_o professor_n of_o the_o gospel_n at_o large_a drunkard_n and_o adulterer_n and_o blasphemer_n and_o yet_o they_o will_v come_v and_o make_v profession_n of_o religion_n and_o think_v it_o very_o much_o if_o they_o shall_v be_v deny_v the_o sacrament_n of_o the_o body_n and_o blood_n of_o christ_n why_o be_v they_o not_o christian_n and_o their_o child_n christian_n and_o yet_o must_v they_o not_o be_v baptise_a and_o yet_o they_o be_v beneath_o heathen_n heathen_n will_v rise_v in_o judgement_n against_o they_o and_o for_o conscienciousness_n in_o secret_a i_o appeal_v to_o every_o one_o of_o your_o conscience_n be_v there_o no_o sin_n that_o

and_o therefore_o our_o conversation_n shall_v rise_v high_o in_o holiness_n than_o the_o converstion_n of_o those_o that_o be_v under_o the_o law_n we_o shall_v endeavour_v to_o be_v more_o exemplary_a in_o holy_a walk_n than_o they_o be_v and_o thus_o much_o for_o the_o second_o head_n now_o for_o the_o three_o which_o be_v the_o chief_a of_o all_o if_o you_o will_v have_v your_o with_o 3._o and_o by_o that_o mean_v the_o saint_n they_o have_v a_o boldness_n before_o man_n they_o can_v lift_v up_o their_o head_n wheresoever_o they_o go_v when_o they_o know_v that_o all_o walk_v scandalous_o and_o loose_o but_o of_o they_o we_o shall_v speak_v present_o 4._o then_o further_o your_o holy_a conversation_n it_o will_v establish_v the_o heart_n of_o the_o saint_n it_o will_v settle_v young_a beginner_n there_o be_v many_o that_o be_v give_v up_o their_o name_n to_o christ_n when_o they_o see_v the_o holy_a and_o gracious_a conversation_n of_o these_o that_o be_v ancient_a professor_n oh_o how_o be_v they_o establish_v in_o the_o way_n of_o godliness_n 5._o and_o it_o will_v edify_v the_o saint_n they_o will_v edify_v and_o grow_v up_o in_o holiness_n they_o will_v imitate_v you_o and_o will_v find_v the_o grace_n of_o god_n not_o only_o strengthen_v but_o increase_v in_o they_o by_o your_o conversation_n oh_o the_o abundance_n of_o good_a that_o you_o may_v do_v and_o therefore_o christian_n have_v a_o care_n of_o your_o conversation_n 6._o then_o you_o in_o respect_n of_o yourselves_o by_o this_o mean_v you_o will_v have_v a_o evidence_n to_o their_o profession_n will_v wear_v away_o where_o there_o be_v not_o a_o godly_a life_n together_o with_o profession_n profession_n will_v vanish_v and_o come_v to_o nothing_o their_o very_a common_a grace_n will_v be_v take_v away_o from_o they_o if_o they_o have_v not_o a_o care_n of_o their_o life_n but_o if_o they_o have_v a_o care_n of_o their_o life_n they_o will_v continue_v in_o the_o way_n of_o godliness_n and_o grow_v up_o and_o increase_v more_o and_o more_o three_o have_v a_o care_n of_o your_o conversation_n that_o you_o may_v get_v honour_n in_o the_o very_a conscience_n of_o man_n quest_n some_o will_v say_v shall_v we_o have_v a_o care_n of_o our_o conversation_n that_o we_o may_v get_v honour_n ans_fw-fr yes_o true_o a_o man_n may_v desire_v to_o have_v the_o testimony_n of_o the_o conscience_n of_o those_o that_o he_o live_v withal_o it_o be_v no_o matter_n for_o their_o talk_v this_o or_o that_o but_o that_o you_o may_v get_v into_o their_o conscience_n god_n give_v you_o liberty_n for_o that_o four_o you_o by_o this_o mean_n will_v be_v instrument_n of_o a_o great_a deal_n of_o public_a good_a if_o you_o live_v according_a to_o your_o profession_n otherwise_o no_o body_n will_v regard_v you_o you_o be_v refuse_v no_o man_n will_v employ_v you_o you_o will_v be_v contemn_v and_o slight_v but_o when_o they_o see_v man_n conversation_n according_a generation_n the_o honour_n of_o the_o profession_n of_o religion_n wel-now_a we_o be_v upon_o the_o stage_n of_o the_o world_n and_o god_n look_v upon_o we_o that_o we_o shall_v in_o our_o generation_n keep_v up_o the_o succession_n of_o the_o honour_n of_o the_o profession_n of_o religion_n and_o so_o afterward_o in_o another_o generation_n as_o man_n come_v upon_o the_o stage_n of_o the_o world_n and_o live_v here_o god_n expect_v succeed_a age_n shall_v keep_v up_o the_o honour_n of_o the_o profession_n of_o religion_n in_o their_o time_n and_o this_o one_o consideration_n may_v go_v to_o the_o very_a heart_n of_o ungodly_a man_n if_o they_o will_v mind_v it_o that_o it_o may_v be_v thou_o be_v the_o man_n or_o woman_n among_o other_o that_o keep_v up_o in_o a_o continual_a succession_n enmity_n against_o god_n in_o the_o world_n do_v but_o consider_v of_o the_o difference_n between_o these_o two_o one_o man_n conversation_n be_v wicked_a and_o another_o be_v holy_a and_o gracious_a thou_o that_o live_v wicked_o this_o evil_n be_v charge_v upon_o thou_o that_o thou_o be_v the_o man_n that_o joyne_v in_o this_o work_n to_o keep_v up_o a_o continue_a succession_n of_o enmity_n against_o god_n in_o the_o world_n ever_o since_o cain_n time_n there_o be_v a_o enmity_n against_o god_n and_o cain_n posterity_n keep_v up_o the_o succession_n of_o it_o and_o so_o from_o one_o generation_n to_o another_o there_o have_v be_v wicked_a man_n keep_v up_o the_o succession_n of_o enmity_n against_o god_n and_o thou_o in_o thy_o generation_n be_v come_v to_o it_o and_o this_o it_o seem_v be_v thy_o work_n but_o now_o on_o the_o other_o side_n ever_o since_o adam_n and_o abel_n time_n there_o have_v be_v godly_a man_n in_o the_o world_n and_o in_o every_o generation_n some_o have_v keep_v up_o the_o honour_n of_o profession_n and_o now_o have_v god_n be_v please_v to_o reveal_v his_o glorious_a gospel_n to_o thy_o soul_n why_o now_o thou_o be_v careful_a of_o thy_o life_n and_o conversation_n god_n employ_v thou_o in_o this_o work_n to_o keep_v up_o the_o succession_n of_o the_o honour_n of_o profession_n in_o the_o world_n and_o this_o be_v a_o comfortable_a life_n indeed_o and_o thus_o we_o have_v do_v with_o the_o explication_n or_o the_o point_n now_o i_o shall_v only_o give_v you_o some_o passage_n for_o the_o application_n of_o it_o application_n only_o say_v the_o apostle_n let_v your_o conversation_n be_v as_o become_v the_o gospel_n of_o christ_n have_v a_o care_n of_o this_o above_o all_o thing_n oh_o you_o will_v fain_o get_v more_o knowledge_n and_o be_v account_v somebody_o in_o the_o place_n where_o you_o live_v and_o be_v a_o eminent_a professor_n where_o you_o live_v well_o whatsoever_o you_o will_v fain_o be_v account_v of_o let_v it_o be_v your_o only_a care_n that_o your_o conversation_n be_v as_o become_v the_o gospel_n of_o christ_n oh_o this_o point_n speak_v bitter_a thing_n and_o sharp_o rebuke_n the_o carelessness_n of_o the_o professor_n of_o the_o gospel_n in_o point_n of_o their_o conversation_n oh_o lord_n how_o have_v we_o cause_n to_o bewail_v the_o looseness_n of_o the_o professor_n of_o the_o gospel_n at_o this_o day_n and_o i_o fear_v that_o some_o may_v be_v present_a who_o conscience_n may_v tell_v they_o that_o they_o be_v very_o loose_a in_o the_o point_n of_o their_o say_v as_o in_o the_o presence_n of_o god_n that_o thy_o conversation_n be_v answerable_a i_o beseech_v you_o as_o in_o the_o presence_n of_o god_n examine_v but_o this_o see_v whether_o thou_o be_v may_v live_v to_o thy_o honour_n and_o be_v a_o witness_n to_o thy_o truth_n that_o i_o may_v hold_v forth_o thy_o image_n and_o further_a thy_o design_n and_o make_v up_o the_o dishonour_n that_o thou_o have_v from_o other_o in_o the_o world_n and_o that_o i_o may_v convince_v wicked_a man_n and_o stop_v the_o mouth_n of_o those_o that_o be_v opposite_a and_o that_o i_o may_v be_v a_o mean_n to_o convert_v those_o that_o i_o live_v with_o or_o otherwise_o to_o judge_v they_o oh_o that_o i_o may_v rejoice_v the_o heart_n of_o the_o saint_n that_o they_o may_v lift_v up_o their_o head_n with_o boldness_n because_o of_o i_o that_o they_o may_v and_o so_o i_o may_v be_v establish_v and_o edify_v go_v along_o in_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o head_n can_v thy_o conscience_n tell_v thou_o that_o thou_o have_v do_v so_o no_o but_o it_o be_v quite_o contrary_a in_o some_o the_o
