and_o wherein_o it_o do_v consist_v in_o general_n it_o consist_v in_o our_o conformity_n to_o the_o term_n of_o the_o gospel_n the_o new_a covenant_n or_o law_n of_o grace_n as_o man_n natural_a and_o original_a righteousness_n stand_v in_o a_o conformity_n in_o his_o nature_n and_o action_n to_o the_o original_a law_n of_o righteousness_n from_o which_o we_o be_v fall_v and_o as_o the_o mediatorial_n righteousness_n of_o christ_n consist_v in_o his_o conformity_n to_o the_o law_n of_o mediation_n so_o do_v the_o evangelical_n righteousness_n of_o a_o christian_a stand_n in_o his_o conformity_n to_o the_o term_n of_o the_o new_a law_n of_o grace_n and_o therefore_o as_o the_o gospel_n itself_o be_v frequent_o call_v the_o faith_n and_o sometime_o the_o law_n of_o faith_n as_o be_v both_o the_o object_n and_o the_o rule_n of_o the_o christian_a faith_n so_o be_v a_o christian_n conformity_n to_o it_o frequent_o style_v likewise_o the_o righteousness_n of_o faith_n and_o the_o righteousness_n by_o faith_n and_o the_o obedience_n of_o faith_n rom._n 3.22_o and_o 4.11_o 13._o and_o 9.30_o and_o 10.6_o gal._n 5.5_o phil._n 3.9_o rom._n 16.26_o now_o this_o conformity_n to_o the_o gospel_n which_o god_n count_v to_o we_o for_o righteousness_n do_v consist_v in_o a_o hearty_a belief_n or_o firm_a persuasion_n that_o god_n upon_o the_o account_n of_o what_o christ_n it_o be_v then_o the_o true_a christian_a faith_n so_o it_o be_v then_o also_o the_o christian_n righteousness_n for_o it_o be_v impute_v reckon_v and_o count_v to_o they_o for_o righteousness_n as_o the_o scripture_n show_v it_o be_v true_a abraham_n be_v say_v to_o have_v have_v this_o righteousness_n rom._n 4.11_o and_o noah_n to_o be_v a_o heir_n of_o it_o heb._n 11.7_o and_o yet_o we_o can_v say_v that_o they_o have_v any_o such_o explicit_a faith_n in_o reference_n to_o christ_n the_o mediator_n as_o the_o mean_a christian_n have_v under_o the_o gospel_n revelation_n and_o yet_o their_o faith_n in_o the_o general_a nature_n of_o it_o be_v the_o same_o then_o with_o the_o christian_n now_o for_o they_o have_v such_o revelation_n make_v by_o god_n one_o way_n or_o other_o by_o which_o they_o do_v believe_v he_o to_o be_v reconcileable_a and_o propitious_a to_o all_o such_o as_o fear_v and_o love_v he_o and_o sincere_o endeavour_v to_o please_v he_o and_o upon_o this_o principle_n doubtless_o it_o be_v that_o they_o and_o other_o good_a man_n in_o those_o elder_a time_n live_v such_o holy_a and_o virtuous_a life_n as_o have_v procure_v they_o upon_o public_a record_n honour_n and_o renown_n for_o righteous_a man_n unto_o all_o generation_n for_o so_o say_v that_o sacred_a author_n speak_v of_o they_o heb._n 11.39_o these_o all_o receive_v a_o good_a report_n through_o faith_n thus_o abel_n obtain_v witness_v even_o from_o god_n himself_o that_o he_o be_v righteous_a by_o reason_n of_o his_o faith_n in_o god_n in_o conjunction_n with_o what_o he_o do_v by_o virtue_n put_v off_o a_o desire_n of_o be_v happy_a in_o it_o than_o they_o can_v put_v off_o nature_n itself_o and_o cease_v to_o be_v man_n they_o can_v discern_v a_o difference_n between_o moral_a good_a and_o evil_a in_o very_a many_o thing_n and_o the_o different_a tendency_n of_o they_o to_o their_o happiness_n or_o misery_n in_o the_o future_a state_n they_o can_v though_o they_o will_v think_v of_o sin_v there_o be_v hardly_o any_o but_o have_v some_o such_o thought_n as_o these_o spring_n up_o more_o or_o less_o in_o their_o mind_n and_o to_o what_o degree_n they_o do_v so_o they_o have_v lie_v the_o difference_n between_o those_o who_o hear_v the_o gospel_n so_o as_o effectual_o to_o believe_v it_o and_o those_o other_o several_a sort_n of_o hearer_n who_o though_o they_o hear_v it_o yet_o do_v not_o believe_v it_o to_o the_o save_n of_o their_o soul_n for_o which_o cause_n it_o may_v well_o be_v that_o the_o author_n to_o the_o hebrew_n press_v the_o christian_n who_o be_v in_o danger_n of_o wither_v like_o the_o corn_n which_o have_v not_o much_o earth_n through_o heat_n of_o persecution_n to_o give_v the_o more_o earnest_a heed_n to_o the_o thing_n which_o they_o have_v be_v concern_v in_o it_o and_o if_o yea_o then_o how_o far_o and_o the_o reason_n which_o our_o saviour_n add_v to_o enforce_v this_o precept_n and_o direction_n of_o he_o show_v this_o to_o be_v
