second_o that_o we_o turn_v unto_o the_o lord_n the_o former_a of_o these_o duty_n as_o it_o be_v first_o in_o the_o order_n of_o the_o text_n so_o it_o be_v in_o nature_n we_o must_v search_v after_o our_o sin_n find_v they_o out_o and_o discover_v they_o and_o then_o turn_v away_o from_o they_o it_o be_v impossible_a that_o we_o shall_v forsake_v they_o until_o we_o have_v a_o sight_n of_o they_o he_o who_o see_v not_o his_o sin_n what_o shall_v he_o else_o do_v but_o still_o go_v on_o bold_o and_o fearless_o in_o the_o practice_n of_o they_o what_o have_v he_o to_o hinder_v he_o or_o reduce_v he_o i_o shall_v speak_v something_o of_o both_o these_o duty_n and_o first_o of_o that_o which_o have_v the_o first_o place_n in_o the_o text._n but_o before_o i_o come_v to_o speak_v of_o the_o duty_n itself_o of_o search_v and_o try_v our_o way_n in_o time_n of_o affliction_n in_o order_n to_o the_o find_v out_o of_o those_o our_o sin_n for_o which_o god_n have_v lay_v his_o hand_n upon_o we_o i_o shall_v speak_v a_o little_a in_o a_o more_o general_a way_n of_o that_o which_o be_v near_o of_o kin_n unto_o the_o duty_n of_o the_o text_n i_o mean_v of_o self-reflection_n or_o a_o look_a back_n upon_o ourselves_o and_o a_o review_v and_o consideration_n of_o our_o thought_n word_n and_o way_n and_o that_o which_o i_o shall_v say_v concern_v it_o shall_v be_v touch_v the_o excellency_n and_o great_a usefulness_n thereof_o and_o touch_v the_o mischief_n of_o the_o neglect_n of_o it_o i._o as_o touch_v the_o excellency_n of_o self-reflection_n or_o review_v of_o our_o thought_n word_n and_o action_n i_o need_v say_v no_o more_o than_o that_o it_o be_v a_o perfection_n which_o only_a man_n and_o angel_n be_v capable_a of_o all_o other_o creature_n even_o those_o of_o they_o which_o be_v most_o perfect_a in_o their_o kind_a and_o seem_v to_o have_v as_o it_o be_v some_o shadow_n and_o resemblance_n of_o reason_n in_o they_o yet_o fall_v short_a of_o this_o excellent_a perfection_n they_o can_v review_v what_o they_o have_v do_v or_o take_v into_o consideration_n the_o quality_n of_o their_o past_a action_n they_o can_v reckon_v with_o themselves_o and_o call_v themselves_o to_o a_o account_n of_o they_o and_o indeed_o they_o need_v not_o do_v it_o for_o they_o be_v under_o no_o other_o rule_n or_o law_n beside_o that_o of_o their_o nature_n and_o those_o natural_a instinct_n which_o god_n have_v put_v into_o they_o by_o these_o they_o be_v rule_v and_o sway_v and_o according_a to_o these_o they_o act_n they_o be_v under_o the_o command_n of_o no_o moral_a law_n and_o consequent_o their_o action_n be_v not_o capable_a of_o moral_a good_a or_o evil._n but_o man_n be_v under_o a_o moral_a law_n and_o accountable_a to_o his_o creator_n for_o the_o breach_n thereof_o for_o the_o better_a regulate_v and_o order_v of_o his_o thought_n word_n and_o action_n according_a to_o the_o prescription_n of_o that_o law_n god_n have_v endow_v he_o with_o a_o faculty_n of_o review_v his_o action_n and_o of_o consider_v they_o with_o relation_n to_o the_o rule_n to_o the_o end_n that_o where_o he_o find_v he_o have_v do_v well_o he_o may_v be_v comfort_v and_o encourage_v and_o where_o he_o have_v do_v ill_o he_o may_v be_v humble_v and_o reform_v thus_o have_v he_o a_o tribunal_n within_o his_o own_o breast_n before_o which_o he_o can_v as_o often_o as_o he_o please_v summon_v himself_o to_o appear_v demand_v a_o account_n of_o all_o that_o have_v be_v do_v by_o himself_o whether_o good_a or_o evil_n at_o this_o tribunal_n he_o can_v judge_v and_o pass_v sentence_n acquit_v or_o condemn_v himself_o according_a to_o the_o moral_a nature_n and_o quality_n of_o his_o action_n here_o he_o can_v rebuke_v and_o admonish_v as_o there_o shall_v reflect_v on_o ourselves_o and_o take_v a_o view_n of_o our_o past_a action_n we_o come_v to_o know_v ourselves_o we_o understand_v the_o state_n and_o condition_n of_o our_o soul_n what_o case_n we_o be_v in_o and_o what_o opinion_n we_o ought_v to_o have_v of_o ourselves_o hereby_o we_o come_v to_o be_v acquaint_v with_o our_o spiritual_a concernment_n whether_o we_o be_v in_o the_o state_n of_o
