conquer_v their_o love_n to_o sin_n and_o to_o reform_v their_o heart_n and_o life_n and_o therefore_o god_n send_v his_o son_n into_o the_o world_n what_o for_o to_o give_v they_o better_a law_n and_o more_o excellent_a promise_n and_o more_o powerful_a assistance_n to_o do_v good_a no_o by_o no_o mean_n but_o to_o fulfil_v all_o righteousness_n for_o they_o that_o they_o may_v fulfil_v the_o of_o a_o impute_a righteousness_n which_o may_v have_v be_v have_v as_o well_o under_o the_o law_n as_o under_o the_o gospel_n if_o god_n have_v please_v but_o a_o want_n of_o strength_n and_o power_n to_o subdue_v the_o sinful_a appetite_n of_o man_n it_o be_v weak_a through_o the_o flesh_n by_o reason_n of_o the_o great_a prevalency_n of_o sensual_a lust_n which_o the_o law_n can_v not_o conquer_v and_o therefore_o the_o gospel_n of_o our_o saviour_n must_v supply_v this_o defect_n not_o by_o a_o impute_a righteousness_n but_o by_o a_o addition_n of_o great_a power_n to_o enable_v mediator_n be_v not_o impute_v to_o we_o but_o what_o he_o do_v not_o as_o our_o mediator_n but_o as_o a_o man_n subject_n to_o the_o law_n that_o be_v impute_v to_o we_o and_o reckon_v as_o if_o we_o have_v do_v it_o by_o reason_n of_o his_o be_v our_o mediator_n and_o it_o be_v as_o strange_a to_o the_o full_a that_o christ_n shall_v do_v whatever_o be_v require_v of_o we_o by_o virtue_n of_o any_o law_n when_o he_o be_v neither_o husband_n nor_o wife_n nor_o father_n merchant_z or_o tradesman_n seaman_n or_o soldier_n captain_n or_o lieutenant_n much_o less_o a_o temporal_a prince_n or_o monarch_n and_o how_o he_o shall_v discharge_v the_o duty_n of_o these_o several_a relation_n for_o we_o which_o be_v require_v of_o we_o by_o certain_a law_n when_o he_o never_o be_v in_o any_o of_o it_o concern_v we_o in_o general_a as_o man_n or_o have_v respect_n to_o the_o various_a relation_n condition_n and_o circumstance_n of_o our_o life_n for_o each_o of_o these_o have_v their_o proper_a duty_n belong_v to_o they_o set_v aside_o that_o difficulty_n of_o prove_v that_o christ_n do_v what_o he_o never_o do_v let_v we_o consider_v how_o the_o dr._n prove_v that_o what_o christ_n do_v he_o do_v for_o we_o and_o in_o our_o stead_n and_o here_o he_o make_v use_v of_o a_o little_a reason_n and_o a_o great_a deal_n of_o scripture_n to_o as_o little_a purpose_n and_o to_o prepare_v the_o way_n for_o his_o reason_n i_o find_v the_o dr._n much_o puzzle_v and_o i_o do_v not_o wonder_v at_o it_o to_o prove_v that_o christ_n act_v as_o mediator_n in_o those_o thing_n which_o do_v not_o concern_v the_o law_n of_o his_o mediation_n which_o he_o do_v as_o a_o private_a 182._o man_n subject_n to_o the_o law_n for_o he_o tell_v we_o that_o of_o this_o expression_n as_o mediator_n there_o be_v a_o double_a sense_n it_o may_v be_v take_v strict_o as_o relate_v sole_o to_o the_o law_n of_o the_o mediator_n and_o so_o christ_n may_v be_v say_v to_o do_v as_o mediator_n only_o duty_n incumbent_a on_o he_o who_o undertake_v so_o to_o be_v the_o meaning_n of_o which_o be_v that_o he_o who_o be_v mediator_n be_v bind_v to_o do_v such_o thing_n though_o not_o as_o mediator_n but_o as_o a_o man_n subject_n to_o the_o law_n yet_o he_o do_v they_o as_o mediator_n because_o he_o be_v a_o mediator_n who_o do_v they_o which_o be_v just_a as_o good_a a_o argument_n as_o it_o will_v be_v to_o prove_v that_o every_o ambassador_n eat_v and_o drinks_z and_o sleep_n as_o a_o ambassador_n because_o though_o this_o be_v no_o part_n of_o his_o embassy_n yet_o he_o be_v a_o attend_v with_o suffering_n so_o that_o his_o whole_a life_n in_o that_o regard_n may_v be_v call_v a_o death_n this_o be_v a_o very_a subtle_a objection_n but_o observe_v the_o answer_n that_o look_v upon_o his_o willingness_n and_o obedience_n in_o it_o it_o may_v be_v distinguish_v from_o his_o suffering_n peculiar_o so_o call_v and_o term_v his_o active_a obedience_n this_o be_v a_o strange_a
