John Ch. 2 V. 1 where he made the water wine And there was a certain noble man whose sonne was sick at Capernaum John V. 47 When he heard that Jesus was come out of Judea into Galilee he went unto him and besought him that he would come down and heal his sonne for he was at the point of death Then said Jesus unto him John V. 48 Except ye see signes and wonders ye will not beleeve The noble man saith unto him Sir John Ch. 4 V. 49 come down ere my childe die Jesus saith unto him John V. 50 Go thy way thy sonne liveth And the man beleeved the word that Jesus had spoken unto him and he went his way And as he was now going down John V. 51 his servants met him and told him saying Thy sonne liveth John V. 52 Then enquired he of them the houre when he began to amend and they said unto him Yesterday at the seventh houre the fever left him So the father knew that it was at the same houre John V. 53 in the which Jesus said unto him Thy sonne liveth and himself beleeved and his whole house John V. 54 This is again the second miracle that Jesus did when he was come out of Judea into Galilee THE THIRD BOOK THE HISTORIE OF THE SECOND YEARE OF CHRISTS PUBLICK MINISTERIE CHAP. XXXIIII The beginning of Christs publick preaching in the Synagogues of Galilee teaching in the Synagogue of Nazareth his own countrey he is cast out Mr. Mark Ch. 1 V. 14 NOw after that John was put in prison L Luke Ch. 4 V. 14 Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit and Mr. Mark Ch. 1 V. 14 came into Galilee preaching the Gospel of the kingdome of God L Luke Ch. 4 V. 14 and there went out a fame of him through all that region round about And he taught in their Synagogues Luke V. 15 being glorified of all Luke V. 16 And he came to Nazareth where he had been brought up and as his custome was he went into the Synagogue on the sabbath-day and stood up for to reade Luke Ch. 4 V. 17 And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias and when he had opened the book he found the place where it was written The Spirit of the Lord is upon me Luke V. 18 because he hath anointed me to preach the Gospel to the poore he hath sent me to heal the broken-hearted to preach deliverance to the captives and recovering of sight to the blinde to set at libertie them that are bruised Luke V. 19 To preach the acceptable yeare of the Lord. And he closed the book Luke V. 20 and he gave it again to the minister and sat down and the eyes of all them that were in the Synagogue were fastened on him Luke V. 21 And he began to say unto them This day is this scripture fulfilled in your eares And all bare him witnesse Luke V. 22 and wondred at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth And they said Is not this Josephs sonne And he said unto them Luke V. 23 Ye will surely say unto me this proverb Physician heal thy self Whatsoever we have heard done in Capernaum do also here in thy countrey And he said Luke V. 24 Verily I say unto you * Matth. Ch. 13 V. 57 No prophet is accepted in his own countrey But I tell you of a truth Luke V. 25 many widows were in Israel in the dayes of Elias when the heaven was shut up three yeares and six moneths when great famine was throughout all the land Luke V. 26 But unto none of them was Elias sent save unto Sarepta a citie of Sidon unto a woman that was a widow And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Elizeus the prophet Luke V. 27 and none of them was cleansed saving Naaman the Syrian Luke V. 28 And all they in the Synagogue when they heard these things were filled with wrath And rose up Luke V. 29 and thrust him out of the citie and led him unto the brow of the hill whereon their citie was built that they might cast him down headlong Luke V. 30 But he passing through the midst of them went his way CHAP. XXXV Christ leaves Nazareth and dwells in Capernaum The chief heads of his sermons in Galilee M Matth. Ch. 4 V. 13 ANd Jesus leaving Nazareth Mr. Mark Ch. 1 V. 21 went and M Matth. Ch. 4 V. 13 came and dwelt in Capernaum which is upon the sea coast in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthali Matth. V. 14 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet saying Matth. V. 15 The land of Zabulon and the land of Nephthali by the way of the sea beyond Jordan Galilee of the Gentiles The people which sat in darknesse Matth. V. 16 saw great light and to them that sat in the region and shadow of death Matth. V. 17 light is sprung up From that time Mr. Mark V. 14 Jesus came into Galilee and M Matth. V. 17 began to preach Mr. Mark V. 15 the Gospel of the kingdome of God M Matth. XXXVI The miraculous taking of fishes The calling of Peter Andrew James and John M Matth. V. 18 ANd Jesus walking by the sea of Galilee saw two brothers Simon which is called Peter and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea for they were fishers L Luke Ch. 5 V. 1 And it came to passe that as the people preassed upon him to heare the word of God he stood by the lake of Genesareth And saw two ships standing by the lake Luke V. 2 but the fishermen were gone out of them and were washing their nets Luke V. 3 And he entred into one of the ships which was Simons and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land and he sat down and taught the people out of the ship Luke V. 4 Now when he had left speakings he said unto Simon Lanch out into the deep and let down your nets for a draught Luke Ch. 5 V. 5 And Simon answering said unto him Master we have toyled all the night and have taken nothing neverthelesse at thy word I will let down the net And when they had this done Luke V. 6 they enclosed a great multitude of fishes and their net brake And they beckened unto their partners Luke V. 7 which were in the other ship that they should come and help them And they came and filled both the ships so that they began to sink Luke V. 8 When Simon Peter saw

CCVIII Christ appeares to his disciples the eighth day after his resurrection when Thomas was present J John Ch. 20 V. 24 BUt Thomas one of the twelve called Didymus was not with them when Jesus came The other disciples therefore said unto him John V. 25 We have seen the Lord but he said unto them Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails and put my finger into the print of the nails and thrust my hand into his side I will not beleeve John V. 26 And after eight dayes again his disciples were within and Thomas with them then came Jesus the doores being shut and stood in the midst and said Peace be unto you Then saith he to Thomas John V. 27 Reach hither thy finger and behold my hands and reach hither thy hand and thrust it into my side and be not faithlesse but beleeving John V. 28 And Thomas answered and said unto him My Lord and my God Jesus saith unto him Thomas John V. 29 because thou hast seen me thou hast beleeved blessed are they that have not seen and yet have beleeved John V. 30 * John Ch. 21 V. 25 And many other signes truely did Jesus in the presence of his disciples which are not written in this book But these are written John V. 31 that ye might beleeve that Jesus is the Christ the Sonne of God and that beleeving ye might have life through his name CHAP. CCIX. Christ shews himself to the disciples at the sea of Tiberias J John Ch. 21 V. 1 AFter these things Jesus shewed himself again to the disciples at the sea of Tiberias and on this wise shewed he himself John V. 2 There were together Simon Peter and Thomas called Didymus and Nathanael of Cana in Galilee and the sonnes of Zebedee and two other of his disciples Simon Peter faith unto them I go a fishing John Ch. 21 V. 3 They say unto him We also go with thee They went forth and entred into a ship immediately and that night they caught nothing John V. 4 But when the morning was now come Jesus stood on the shore but the disciples knew not that it was Jesus Then Jesus saith unto them Children John V. 5 have ye any meat They answered him No. John V. 6 And he said unto them Cast the net on the right side of the ship and ye shall finde They cast therefore and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes John V. 7 Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved saith unto Peter It is the Lord. Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord he girt his fishers coat unto him for he was naked and did cast himself into the sea John V. 8 And the other disciples came in a little ship for they were not farre from land but as it were two hundred cubits dragging the net with fishes John V. 9 Assoon then as they were come to land they saw a fire of coals there and fish laid thereon and bread John V. 10 Jesus saith unto them Bring of the fish which ye have now caught Simon Peter went up John V. 11 and drew the net to land full of great fishes an hundred and fiftie and three and for all there were so many yet was not the net
two fishes divided he among them all M Matth. V. 20 And they did all eat L Luke V. 17 and were all filled J John V. 12 When they were filled he said unto his disciples Gather up the fragments that remain John V. 13 that nothing be lost Therefore they gathered them together and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves which remained over and above unto them that had eaten Mr. Mark V. 43 And they took up M Matth. LXXVII Christ walks upon the sea and what then happened J John Ch. 6 V. 16 ANd when even was now come his disciples went down unto the sea John V. 17 And entred into a ship and went over the sea towards Capernaum and it was now dark and Jesus was not come to them And the sea arose John V. 18 by reason of a great winde that blew Mr. Mark V. 47 And when even was come the ship was in the midst of the sea M Matth. V. 24 and he was there alone Mr. Mark V. 47 on the land M Matth. V. 24 But the ship was now in the midst of the sea tossed with waves Mr. Mark V. 48 And he saw them toyling in rowing for the winde was contrarie unto them and about the fourth watch of the night M Matth. V. 25 Jesus went unto them and Mr. Mark V. 48 cometh unto them walking upon the sea J John V. 19 So when they had rowed about five and twentie or thirtie furlongs they see Jesus walking on the sea and drawing nigh unto the ship Mr. Mark V. 49 and would have passed by them But when they M Matth. V. 26 the disciples Mr. Mark V. 49 saw him walking upon the sea they supposed it had been a spirit J John V. 19 and they were afraid Mr. Mark V. 49 and cried out for they all saw him and were troubled M Matth. V. 27 saying It is a spirit and they cried out for fear But straightway Jesus spake unto them Mr. Mark V. 50 and saith unto them Be of good cheer it is I be not afraid M Matth. V. 28 And Peter answered him and said Lord if it be thou bid me come unto thee on the water And he said Matth. V. 29 Come And when Peter was come down out of the ship he walked on the water to go to Jesus Matth. V. 30 But when he saw the winde boisterous he was afraid and beginning to sink he cried Matth. Ch. 14 V. 31 saying Lord save me And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand and caught him and said unto him O thou of little faith wherefore didst thou doubt J John Ch. 6 V. 21 And they willingly received him into the ship Mr. Mark Ch. 6 V. 51 and he went up unto them into the ship M Matth. V. 32 And when they were come into the ship the winde ceased J John Ch. 6 V. 21 and immediately the ship was at the land whither they went M Matth. LXXVIII Christs sermon of the spirituall eating of his flesh and drinking of his bloud J John V. 22 THe day following when the people which stood on the other side of the sea saw that there was none other boat there save that one whereinto his disciples were entred and that Jesus went not with his disciples into the boat but that his disciples were gone away alone Howbeit there came other boats from Tiberias John Ch. 6 V. 23 nigh unto the place where they did eat bread after that the Lord had given thanks When the people therefore saw that Jesus was not there John V. 24 neither his disciples they also took shipping and came to Capernaum seeking for Jesus John V. 25 And when they had found him on the other side of the sea they said unto him Rabbi when camest thou hither Jesus answered them and said John V. 26 Verily verily I say unto you Ye seek me not because ye saw the miracles but because ye did eat of the loaves and were filled John V. 27 Labour not for the meat which perisheth but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life which the Sonne of man shall give unto you * Matth. V. 14 and came to Jordan to John to be baptized of him But John forbad him saying I have need to be baptized of thee Matth.
