and_o they_o be_v ready_a to_o snuff_v at_o it_o as_o the_o prophet_n speak_v mal._n 1.13_o they_o take_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o care_n and_o pain_n how_o they_o may_v live_v here_o it_o may_v be_v ten_o or_o twenty_o or_o thirty_o year_n but_o they_o take_v no_o thought_n how_o they_o shall_v live_v a_o thousand_o year_n hence_o when_o they_o have_v leave_v their_o body_n in_o the_o earth_n oh_o be_v the_o endeavour_n of_o these_o man_n for_o the_o save_n of_o their_o immortal_a precious_a soul_n but_o any_o thing_n answerable_a to_o the_o pain_n they_o take_v to_o get_v the_o world_n how_o happy_a may_v they_o be_v god_n be_v not_o always_o please_v to_o bless_v and_o succeed_v the_o endeavour_n of_o man_n who_o be_v very_o diligent_a in_o their_o call_n and_o painful_a and_o laborious_a to_o get_v wealth_n god_n see_v it_o best_o to_o keep_v they_o low_o but_o what_o man_n ever_o be_v diligent_a and_o serious_a in_o seek_v the_o thing_n of_o eternal_a life_n and_o work_v out_o his_o salvation_n that_o do_v not_o find_v god_n assist_v of_o he_o and_o prosper_v his_o endeavour_n 5._o they_o be_v very_o careful_a to_o secure_v to_o themselves_o those_o temporal_a thing_n but_o use_v no_o answerable_a care_n to_o secure_v to_o themselves_o thing_n eternal_a they_o be_v very_o careful_a about_o the_o title_n of_o their_o land_n and_o purchase_n and_o hardly_o ever_o think_v themselves_o secure_a enough_o let_v a_o minister_n come_v to_o one_o of_o these_o man_n on_o his_o deathbed_n and_o ask_v he_o concern_v the_o evidence_n of_o his_o estate_n he_o will_v tell_v he_o they_o be_v all_o safe_a in_o such_o a_o trunk_n or_o chest_n but_o let_v he_o ask_v he_o what_o evidence_n he_o have_v that_o his_o soul_n be_v in_o a_o safe_a condition_n alas_o he_o have_v nothing_o to_o say_v he_o have_v not_o mind_v those_o thing_n his_o soul_n be_v leave_v upon_o miserable_a uncertainty_n he_o have_v take_v no_o care_n to_o secure_v to_o himself_o erernal_a aeternitas_fw-la erernal_a nulla_fw-la satis_fw-la magna_fw-la secu●itas_fw-la ubi_fw-la periclitatur_fw-la aeternitas_fw-la happiness_n he_o have_v take_v care_n to_o leave_v a_o clear_a estate_n to_o his_o child_n but_o no_o care_n to_o clear_v his_o soul_n of_o guilt_n or_o to_o deliver_v himself_o from_o the_o wrath_n that_o be_v to_o come_v 6._o they_o be_v common_o very_o solicitous_a about_o their_o own_o private_a interest_n but_o little_a or_o nothing_o concern_v about_o the_o interest_n of_o christ_n or_o his_o church_n they_o be_v whole_o and_o only_o for_o themselves_o we_o read_v 1_o sam._n 4.13_o that_o old_a eli_n heart_n tremble_v for_o the_o ark_n of_o god_n which_o be_v the_o symbol_n of_o his_o gracious_a presence_n among_o they_o but_o how_o little_a be_v god_n the_o rich_a man_n wealth_n be_v his_o strong_a city_n prov._n 10.16_o they_o make_v gold_n their_o hope_n and_o fine_a gold_n their_o confidence_n job_n 31.24_o their_o wealth_n be_v the_o idol_n upon_o which_o they_o dote_v their_o confidence_n and_o trust_n be_v take_v off_o from_o god_n and_o place_v upon_o their_o riches_n as_o the_o psalmist_n speak_v psal_n 52.7_o lo_o these_o
