servant_n yet_o the_o lord_n will_v keep_v they_o and_o this_o commandment_n shall_v be_v keep_v till_o christ_n come_n again_o in_o despite_n of_o they_o though_o not_o in_o the_o most_o part_n of_o never_o banish_v it_o but_o there_o shall_v be_v one_o or_o other_o that_o shall_v stand_v for_o the_o truth_n this_o we_o may_v see_v have_v be_v accomplish_v as_o we_o find_v in_o history_n although_o many_o of_o their_o testimony_n be_v suppress_v yet_o in_o all_o age_n god_n have_v have_v sundry_a who_o have_v maintain_v the_o truth_n so_o that_o there_o shall_v be_v a_o church_n of_o that_o be_v the_o king_n of_o king_n and_o lord_n of_o lord_n he_o must_v needs_o be_v the_o only_a potentate_n in_o heaven_n and_o earth_n and_o so_o it_o be_v that_o god_n be_v the_o head_n of_o all_o principallitye_n and_o power_n therefore_o he_o must_v needs_o be_v the_o only_a potentate_n it_o be_v strange_a that_o this_o argument_n shall_v hold_v since_o it_o be_v grant_v that_o there_o be_v many_o king_n and_o lord_n beside_o god_n how_o then_o can_v this_o prove_v god_n to_o be_v the_o only_a potentate_n there_o be_v other_o king_n and_o lord_n beside_o he_o it_o will_v seem_v by_o this_o property_n here_o ascribe_v unto_o god_n that_o it_o will_v confirm_v the_o false_a fancy_n of_o the_o anabaptist_n who_o hold_v that_o now_o under_o the_o gospel_n there_o shall_v be_v no_o magistrate_n but_o god_n only_o because_o in_o the_o new_a testament_n he_o be_v call_v the_o only_a potentate_n and_o this_o be_v one_o of_o their_o ground_n whereupon_o they_o build_v their_o judgement_n from_o god_n as_o to_o be_v cast_v out_o from_o among_o man_n and_o to_o live_v among_o beast_n for_o the_o space_n of_o seven_o year_n that_o he_o may_v know_v that_o the_o most_o high_a have_v rule_v over_o the_o kingdom_n of_o man_n as_o daniel_n tell_v he_o in_o plain_a term_n because_o he_o in_o the_o pride_n of_o his_o heart_n do_v think_v he_o have_v raise_v himself_o to_o his_o absolute_a king_n on_o earth_n but_o always_o make_v they_o substitute_n to_o himself_o in_o authority_n reserve_v to_o himself_o the_o supreme_a authority_n over_o they_o to_o thrust_v they_o out_o of_o their_o throne_n whensoever_o it_o please_v he_o all_o the_o king_n of_o the_o world_n be_v but_o subject_n to_o the_o king_n of_o heaven_n so_o that_o even_o in_o their_o rule_n and_o exercise_v of_o their_o power_n they_o be_v to_o know_v there_o be_v another_o power_n above_o they_o unto_o which_o they_o must_v give_v a_o account_n of_o all_o their_o do_n for_o the_o lord_n will_v not_o let_v the_o power_n he_o have_v over_o they_o to_o go_v out_o of_o his_o own_o hand_n so_o that_o no_o king_n nor_o lord_n have_v any_o power_n to_o do_v as_o they_o list_v god_n it_o be_v blasphemy_n to_o say_v that_o any_o king_n have_v absolute_a power_n for_o that_o be_v asmuch_o as_o to_o set_v he_o in_o the_o throne_n of_o god_n for_o there_o be_v no_o absolute_a king_n but_o god_n alone_o and_o this_o be_v the_o second_o reason_n why_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n describe_v the_o power_n of_o god_n after_o this_o manner_n to_o prove_v he_o the_o only_a potentate_n if_o he_o that_o be_v a_o king_n have_v another_o power_n above_o he_o which_o be_v the_o lord_n they_o must_v this_o lord_n be_v the_o only_a potentate_n but_o every_o king_n have_v the_o lord_n above_o he_o so_o as_o he_o can_v hold_v it_o no_o long_o than_o it_o please_v he_o neither_o can_v his_o race_n enjoy_v it_o long_o than_o god_n will_v suffer_v it_o therefore_o the_o lord_n take_v away_o the_o kingdom_n from_o some_o and_o give_v it_o to_o other_o he_o take_v away_o authority_n from_o the_o house_n of_o david_n and_o give_v it_o to_o jeroboam_fw-la and_o for_o the_o iniquity_n of_o jeroboam_fw-la he_o take_v it_o from_o ahab_n and_o give_v it_o unto_o jehu_n many_o change_n of_o kingdom_n the_o lord_n have_v make_v take_v king_n out_o of_o their_o throne_n and_o place_v their_o enemy_n in_o reason_n prove_v wherefore_o the_o apostle_n describe_v the_o power_n of_o god_n after_o this_o manner_n that_o by_o necessary_a evidence_n he_o conclude_v the_o main_a point_n since_o there_o be_v not_o a_o power_n or_o potentate_n but_o god_n be_v the_o only_a potentate_n to_o do_v with_o man_n as_o himself_o please_v it_o be_v he_o that_o cast_v down_o and_o it_o be_v he_o that_o raise_v up_o and_o thus_o he_o will_v have_v all_o man_n to_o know_v but_o special_o his_o minister_n to_o know_v this_o there_o be_v a_o four_o reason_n of_o this_o manner_n of_o describe_v god_n and_o that_o be_v for_o the_o comfort_n of_o his_o child_n which_o i_o have_v touch_v before_o to_o arm_v they_o against_o all_o the_o terror_n of_o king_n that_o the_o terror_n of_o no_o power_n make_v they_o to_o dispense_v with_o the_o ordinance_n of_o this_o great_a potentate_n therefore_o he_o will_v imprint_v this_o in_o their_o mind_n that_o god_n be_v the_o king_n of_o king_n therefore_o no_o king_n can_v do_v more_o harm_n to_o they_o than_o it_o please_v god_n this_o be_v comfort_n and_o the_o same_o which_o christ_n give_v his_o desciple_n in_o the_o ten_o of_o matthew_n where_o he_o bid_v they_o not_o to_o fear_v they_o that_o can_v only_o kill_v the_o body_n for_o he_o tell_v they_o that_o their_o life_n be_v more_o precious_a than_o bird_n and_o be_v there_o not_o so_o many_o sparrow_n sell_v for_o a_o farthing_n and_o yet_o not_o one_o of_o they_o shall_v fall_v to_o the_o ground_n without_o the_o providence_n of_o god_n therefore_o christ_n know_v that_o power_n be_v give_v over_o he_o though_o he_o can_v have_v pray_v to_o his_o father_n and_o obtain_v legion_n of_o angel_n yet_o he_o will_v not_o because_o he_o know_v there_o be_v no_o resistance_n of_o god_n will_n therefore_o he_o comfort_v himself_o against_o the_o lose_n of_o pilate_n that_o he_o have_v no_o power_n but_o be_v give_v he_o
from_o above_o first_o of_o all_o this_o let_v we_o see_v that_o it_o be_v a_o vain_a thing_n to_o be_v astonish_v at_o the_o fury_n of_o prince_n it_o be_v but_o miserable_a weakness_n of_o man_n that_o know_v what_o god_n be_v certain_z it_o be_v if_o we_o serve_v god_n aright_o we_o will_v not_o be_v move_v with_o the_o fear_n of_o any_o man_n in_o the_o world_n you_o see_v when_o as_o jeroboam_fw-la will_v have_v apprehend_v the_o prophet_n that_o god_n send_v to_o threaten_v his_o judgement_n upon_o he_o for_o his_o idolatry_n when_o he_o stretch_v out_o his_o hand_n to_o
