our_o army_n upon_o this_o occasion_n the_o commission_n of_o the_o general_n assembly_n give_v themselves_o to_o search_v after_o the_o cause_n of_o this_o stroke_n and_o spirit_n of_o confusion_n and_o astonishment_n from_o the_o lord_n and_o after_o some_o pain_n take_v therein_o find_v that_o there_o have_v be_v a_o malignant_a design_n for_o bring_v in_o again_o the_o malignant_a party_n of_o a_o long_a time_n hatch_n and_o carry_v on_o by_o sundry_a in_o the_o judicatories_n and_o in_o the_o army_n and_o that_o it_o be_v far_o promote_v and_o advance_v and_o for_o the_o more_o conviction_n herein_o they_o do_v condescend_v on_o several_a instance_n and_o particular_n of_o moment_n and_o consequence_n this_o they_o offer_v to_o the_o committee_n of_o estate_n as_o ground_n of_o humiliation_n to_o be_v keep_v by_o they_o and_o the_o army_n but_o the_o committee_n as_o they_o do_v refuse_v to_o take_v with_o any_o such_o guiltiness_n so_o do_v they_o refuse_v to_o join_v in_o any_o humiliation_n to_o be_v keep_v for_o the_o same_o upon_o the_o which_o the_o commission_n do_v leave_v it_o before_o they_o with_o a_o declaration_n that_o they_o have_v exoner_v themselves_o and_o with_o a_o desire_n to_o the_o committee_n of_o estate_n to_o do_v therein_o as_o they_o will_v be_v answerable_a to_o god_n who_o be_v contend_v for_o these_o thing_n the_o second_o be_v the_o cause_n of_o humiliation_n condescend_v on_o at_o sterlin_n immediate_o after_o the_o defeat_n at_o dumbar_n these_o cause_n which_o be_v first_o condescend_v on_o by_o the_o presbytery_n with_o the_o army_n and_o afterward_o approven_v by_o the_o commission_n of_o the_o general_n assembly_n do_v specify_v somewhat_o of_o the_o crooked_a course_n which_o have_v be_v take_v in_o carry_v on_o the_o treaty_n with_o the_o king_n and_o of_o the_o obstruct_v the_o purge_n of_o the_o army_n and_o of_o the_o judicatories_n and_o of_o the_o king_n family_n and_o of_o the_o not_o though_o real_a truth_n in_o themselves_o and_o just_a matter_n of_o humiliation_n before_o god_n yet_o be_v reject_v and_o not_o so_o much_o as_o read_v or_o intimate_v by_o many_o minister_n in_o their_o congregation_n and_o be_v refuse_v to_o be_v take_v with_o or_o acknowledge_v by_o sundry_a statesman_n and_o officer_n of_o the_o army_n and_o other_o who_o be_v guilty_a of_o they_o the_o three_o instance_n be_v the_o remonstrance_n of_o the_o gentleman_n minister_n and_o force_n in_o the_o west_n which_o though_o it_o be_v a_o testimony_n give_v in_o reference_n to_o sin_n and_o duty_n by_o a_o company_n of_o man_n who_o have_v be_v straight_o from_o the_o begin_n in_o the_o work_n of_o god_n in_o the_o simplicity_n of_o their_o heart_n and_o do_v contain_v in_o it_o many_o sad_a truth_n yet_o be_v not_o only_o reject_v but_o condemn_v by_o the_o plurality_n of_o the_o committee_n of_o estate_n and_o commission_n of_o the_o general_n assembly_n notwithstanding_o that_o many_o of_o the_o member_n of_o both_o these_o judicatories_n do_v dissent_v from_o and_o protest_v against_o these_o voice_n and_o as_o if_o it_o have_v not_o be_v enough_o be_v again_o resume_v by_o the_o parliament_n and_o a_o most_o harsh_a censure_v put_v upon_o it_o and_o all_o such_o as_o do_v not_o disclaim_v it_o before_o such_o a_o day_n appoint_v to_o be_v proceed_v against_o with_o know_v that_o before_o this_o kingdom_n be_v invade_v by_o these_o who_o have_v now_o bring_v it_o low_o there_o be_v a_o letter_n write_v by_o the_o parliament_n to_o the_o present_a power_n in_o as_o in_o their_o letter_n of_o the_o 6._o of_o march_n 1649._o they_o do_v acknowledge_v their_o obligation_n and_o declare_v their_o resolution_n to_o observe_v the_o rule_n of_o remonstrate_v kingdom_n in_o war_n so_o they_o do_v again_o renew_v the_o same_o and_o according_o renew_v the_o act_n of_o posture_n and_o levy_n for_o put_v this_o kingdom_n in_o readiness_n in_o case_n of_o invasion_n which_o be_v make_v the_o former_a year_n when_o they_o write_v the_o foresay_a letter_n of_o the_o 6._o of_o march_n all_o which_o they_o do_v profess_v solemn_o to_o be_v do_v by_o they_o necessity_n of_o the_o march_v of_o force_n for_o defence_n of_o the_o border_n of_o england_n and_o on_o the_o other_o part_n be_v inform_v of_o a_o resolution_n in_o england_n to_o send_v a_o army_n to_o invade_v this_o kingdom_n they_o desire_v to_o know_v whether_o these_o who_o have_v the_o present_a power_n in_o england_n do_v acknowledge_v themselves_o oblige_v or_o by_o their_o answer_n will_v oblige_v themselves_o and_o declare_v their_o resolutios_n to_o observe_v the_o foresay_a way_n and_o order_n upon_o their_o part_n to_o we_o and_o plain_o and_o clear_o to_o declare_v
