the_o city_n of_o philippi_n but_o i_o now_o rather_o approve_v the_o former_a answer_n as_o better_o agree_v with_o the_o circumstance_n of_o this_o scripture_n whereby_o it_o seem_v that_o the_o apostle_n speak_v of_o they_o that_o then_o be_v at_o philippi_n now_o for_o answer_v unto_o the_o second_o doubt_n which_o be_v how_o one_o man_n may_v be_v persuade_v of_o another_o man_n perseverance_n or_o salvation_n we_o must_v understand_v that_o there_o be_v a_o threefold_a persuasion_n one_o ground_v upon_o the_o testimony_n of_o the_o spirit_n unto_o our_o spirit_n whereby_o be_v we_o of_o all_o man_n the_o most_o miserable_a all_o which_o albeit_o they_o be_v bring_v to_o prove_v the_o resurrection_n oâ—_n the_o dead_a yet_o do_v they_o likewise_o show_v that_o the_o apostle_n in_o his_o preach_n and_o in_o his_o suffering_n and_o in_o all_o that_o he_o do_v ever_o respect_v the_o resurrection_n of_o the_o dead_a and_o so_o we_o ought_v in_o all_o thing_n evermore_o to_o aim_v at_o the_o resurrection_n of_o the_o dead_a and_o this_o aught_o to_o make_v we_o both_o do_v all_o thing_n cheerful_o &_o suffer_v all_o thing_n willing_o know_v that_o there_o shall_v be_v a_o glorious_a resurrection_n of_o the_o just_a and_o that_o we_o shall_v receive_v reward_n through_o the_o mercy_n of_o god_n in_o christ_n jesus_n for_o whatsoever_o good_a we_o have_v do_v and_o for_o whatsoever_o tentation_n we_o have_v suffer_v in_o
he_o in_o heaven_n in_o the_o perfect_a state_n of_o blessedness_n yea_o but_o do_v not_o the_o preacher_n say_v 3.19_o eccl._n 3.19_o that_o the_o condition_n of_o the_o child_n of_o man_n and_o the_o condition_n of_o beast_n be_v even_o as_o one_o condition_n unto_o they_o if_o then_o there_o be_v no_o resurrection_n of_o the_o body_n of_o beast_n after_o this_o life_n how_o do_v we_o say_v that_o there_o be_v any_o resurrection_n of_o the_o body_n of_o man_n the_o meaning_n of_o the_o preacher_n be_v that_o man_n be_v not_o able_a by_o reason_n and_o judgement_n to_o put_v a_o difference_n between_o the_o die_a of_o man_n and_o beast_n as_o by_o his_o eye_n to_o judge_v otherwise_o of_o a_o man_n be_v dead_a then_o of_o a_o beast_n be_v dead_a but_o neither_o he_o there_o speak_v of_o man_n estate_n after_o death_n neither_o what_o we_o know_v by_o the_o word_n of_o god_n touch_v the_o condition_n of_o man_n and_o of_o beast_n for_o thence_o we_o know_v that_o the_o spirit_n of_o man_n ascend_v upward_o when_o it_o leave_v the_o body_n and_o that_o the_o spirit_n of_o the_o beast_n descend_v downward_o to_o the_o earth_n and_o that_o the_o body_n of_o the_o beast_n sleep_v for_o ever_o in_o the_o dust_n but_o the_o body_n of_o man_n shall_v be_v raise_v up_o at_o the_o last_o day_n unto_o life_n everlasting_a in_o the_o heaven_n how_o then_o do_v the_o apostle_n say_v 15.10_o 1_o co._n 15.10_o that_o flesh_n and_o blood_n can_v inherit_v the_o kingdom_n of_o god_n there_o the_o meaning_n of_o the_o apostle_n be_v that_o the_o natural_a body_n as_o it_o be_v now_o subject_a to_o sin_n and_o corruption_n can_v inherit_v the_o kingdom_n of_o god_n until_o it_o be_v glorify_v forasmuch_o as_o none_o unclean_a thing_n enter_v into_o it_o this_o therefore_o be_v it_o that_o we_o teach_v christ_n shall_v raise_v up_o our_o vile_a body_n in_o the_o last_o day_n and_o make_v they_o like_v unto_o his_o glorious_a body_n and_o so_o possess_v we_o in_o soul_n and_o body_n of_o that_o kingdom_n prepare_v for_o we_o from_o before_o all_o beginning_n here_o then_o be_v a_o notable_a comfort_n for_o all_o god_n child_n that_o not_o only_o our_o soul_n after_o this_o life_n end_v shall_v go_v unto_o god_n that_o give_v they_o but_o our_o body_n likewise_o in_o the_o last_o day_n shall_v be_v raise_v up_o again_o and_o be_v make_v like_o unto_o christ_n his_o glorious_a body_n that_o our_o soul_n and_o body_n be_v unite_v together_o we_o may_v live_v for_o ever_o with_o he_o in_o his_o kingdom_n of_o glory_n for_o hereupon_o thus_o we_o may_v resolve_v with_o ourselves_o what_o though_o i_o be_v afflict_v and_o torment_v what_o though_o my_o misery_n be_v as_o many_o and_o grievous_a as_o job_n be_v what_o though_o i_o be_v rack_v tear_v in_o piece_n with_o wild_a horse_n my_o body_n cast_v to_o the_o bird_n of_o the_o air_n to_o the_o beast_n of_o the_o land_n or_o to_o the_o fish_n in_o the_o sea_n i_o know_v that_o after_o this_o life_n end_v there_o will_v follow_v a_o joyful_a resurrection_n thus_o job_n comfort_v himself_o amid_o all_o his_o extremity_n 19.25.26.27_o job._n 19.25.26.27_o say_v i_o know_v that_o my_o redeemer_n live_v and_o that_o he_o shall_v stand_v the_o last_o on_o the_o earth_n and_o though_o after_o my_o skin_n worm_n destroy_v this_o body_n yet_o shall_v i_o see_v god_n in_o my_o flesh_n who_o i_o myself_o shall_v see_v and_o my_o eye_n shall_v behold_v and_o none_o other_o for_o i_o though_o my_o reins_n be_v consume_v within_o i_o and_o so_o we_o read_v that_o the_o saint_n of_o god_n mention_v to_o the_o hebrews_n comfort_v themselves_o 11.35_o heb._n 11.35_o for_o when_o they_o be_v rack_v and_o torment_v they_o will_v not_o be_v deliver_v and_o why_o because_o they_o look_v for_o a_o better_a resurrection_n whatsoever_o therefore_o trouble_n affliction_n adversity_n misery_n death_n do_v befall_v we_o or_o our_o friend_n let_v we_o comfort_v ourselves_o in_o this_o that_o there_o shall_v be_v a_o end_n of_o all_o trouble_n when_o all_o tear_n shall_v be_v wipe_v from_o our_o eye_n and_o that_o there_o shall_v be_v a_o joyful_a resurrection_n in_o the_o last_o day_n and_o glorification_n of_o our_o mortal_a body_n my_o three_o observation_n hence_o be_v that_o the_o resurrection_n of_o body_n unto_o glorification_n be_v only_o of_o they_o who_o soule-conuersation_n in_o this_o life_n be_v in_o heaven_n for_o albeit_o in_o the_o resurrection_n not_o only_o the_o sheep_n but_o the_o goat_n not_o only_o they_o that_o have_v do_v good_a but_o they_o that_o have_v do_v evil_a shall_v rise_v again_o with_o their_o body_n yet_o the_o one_o only_o unto_o everlasting_a joy_n and_o glory_n the_o other_o unto_o everlasting_a woe_n and_o misery_n so_o say_v john_n 5.29_o joh._n 5.29_o they_o shall_v come_v forth_o that_o have_v do_v good_a unto_o the_o resurrection_n of_o life_n and_o they_o that_o have_v do_v evil_a unto_o the_o which_o be_v natural_a need_v food_n raiment_n rest_n sleep_n physic_n and_o the_o like_a shall_v be_v raise_v up_o spiritual_a need_v none_o of_o these_o thing_n but_o be_v as_o the_o angel_n of_o god_n exempt_v from_o all_o want_n and_o infirmity_n of_o this_o life_n our_o body_n in_o substance_n in_o figure_n in_o lineament_n and_o in_o member_n shall_v be_v the_o self-same_a that_o they_o be_v in_o this_o life_n inasmuch_o as_o in_o these_o there_o be_v no_o change_n by_o the_o sin_n of_o our_o first_o parent_n but_o in_o such_o vile_a quality_n as_o by_o sin_n they_o be_v poison_v and_o infect_v with_o they_o shall_v so_o be_v change_v as_o have_v be_v say_v and_o this_o be_v the_o glorification_n of_o our_o body_n in_o that_o day_n he_o that_o shall_v come_v to_o be_v do_v because_o you_o have_v do_v your_o duty_n you_o have_v do_v that_o which_o christ_n command_v you_o have_v do_v that_o which_o have_v great_a recompense_n of_o reward_n but_o how_o do_v they_o communicate_v unto_o his_o affliction_n we_o must_v understand_v that_o we_o may_v communicate_v unto_o the_o affliction_n of_o god_n saint_n three_o way_n first_o 16.28_o act._n 16.28_o when_o we_o ourselves_o for_o the_o affliction_n of_o god_n saint_n albeit_o we_o do_v not_o suffer_v in_o our_o body_n with_o they_o three_o when_o we_o minister_v unto_o they_o what_o comfort_n we_o can_v in_o word_n and_o what_o help_n we_o can_v in_o deed_n and_o thus_o the_o philippian_n communicate_v unto_o paul_n affliction_n lie_v now_o in_o prison_n send_v unto_o he_o their_o minister_n and_o with_o he_o such_o gift_n as_o may_v supply_v his_o want_n and_o this_o be_v it_o for_o which_o the_o apostle_n in_o these_o word_n commend_v they_o i_o can_v only_o point_v at_o such_o thing_n as_o be_v hence_o to_o be_v observe_v first_o in_o that_o the_o apostle_n say_v notwithstanding_o that_o i_o be_o able_a to_o endure_v want_n through_o christ_n which_o strengthen_v i_o yet_o you_o have_v well_o do_v etc._n etc._n hence_o i_o observe_v that_o the_o constancy_n and_o patience_n and_o contentment_n of_o god_n saint_n ought_v not_o to_o be_v any_o stay_n unto_o we_o of_o perform_v christian_a duty_n which_o we_o owe_v unto_o they_o and_o yet_o how_o willing_o do_v we_o make_v every_o thing_n serve_v to_o we_o for_o a_o excuse_n of_o slack_v such_o duty_n as_o we_o ought_v to_o they_o be_v content_a with_o that_o they_o have_v they_o beg_v not_o and_o therefore_o we_o may_v spare_v our_o purse_n well_o enough_o but_o our_o apostle_n tell_v we_o that_o notwithstanding_o it_o be_v thus_o with_o they_o yet_o we_o shall_v do_v well_o to_o comfort_v they_o and_o to_o help_v they_o yea_o and_o sure_o it_o be_v the_o best_a do_v that_o be_v do_v unto_o they_o for_o they_o by_o that_o it_o be_v so_o appear_v both_o for_o that_o it_o be_v command_v as_o a_o duty_n practise_v of_o the_o godly_a and_o have_v with_o it_o great_a recompense_n of_o reward_n weep_v with_o they_o that_o weep_v say_v our_o apostle_n what_o be_v that_o that_o be_v let_v their_o affliction_n move_v you_o to_o compassion_n and_o in_o token_n of_o your_o compassion_n comfort_n and_o help_v they_o in_o their_o affliction_n the_o apostle_n to_o the_o hebrew_n open_v it_o more_o large_o 13.3_o heb._n 13.3_o where_o he_o say_v remember_v they_o that_o be_v in_o bond_n as_o if_o you_o be_v bind_v and_o to_o help_v it_o and_o shall_v not_o we_o look_v unto_o our_o poor_a brethren_n and_o distress_a &_o help_v they_o sure_o if_o it_o be_v well_o do_v to_o communicate_v to_o their_o affliction_n than_o it_o be_v not_o well_o do_v not_o to_o communicate_v to_o their_o affliction_n and_o if_o eternal_a glory_n in_o the_o heaven_n be_v the_o recompense_n of_o their_o reward_n that_o to_o communicate_v unto_o his_o affliction_n in_o these_o two_o next_o verse_n go_v forward_o with_o the_o like_a commendation_n of_o their_o liberality_n even_o since_o his_o first_o preach_v of_o the_o gospel_n unto_o they_o first_o by_o compare_v they_o with_o the_o rest_n of_o the_o church_n of_o macedonia_n verse_n 15._o second_o by_o give_v they_o this_o testimony_n that_o even_o when_o he_o be_v absent_a from_o they_o and_o labour_v with_o other_o church_n they_o minister_v unto_o his_o necessity_n not_o once_o but_o once_o and_o again_o and_o lest_o by_o this_o his_o great_a have_v walk_v after_o the_o flesh_n neglect_v the_o law_n of_o god_n yield_v thyself_o captive_a unto_o the_o law_n of_o sin_n set_v thy_o affection_n on_o the_o thing_n which_o be_v on_o earth_n and_o never_o mind_v the_o thing_n which_o be_v above_o then_o sure_o thou_o be_v a_o stranger_n from_o the_o life_n of_o god_n and_o the_o way_n that_o thou_o walk_v lead_v unto_o hell_n look_v therefore_o well_o unto_o it_o and_o let_v every_o man_n have_v that_o care_n of_o his_o way_n that_o howsoever_o he_o live_v here_o in_o the_o body_n yet_o in_o mind_n and_o affection_n he_o may_v have_v his_o conversation_n in_o heaven_n and_o to_o this_o end_n weyne_v yourselves_o daily_o more_o and_o more_o from_o the_o love_n &_o care_n of_o these_o earthly_a thing_n he_o that_o weep_v through_o adversity_n 7.30_o 1_o cor._n 7.30_o let_v he_o be_v as_o though_o he_o weep_v not_o he_o that_o rejoice_v through_o prosperity_n let_v he_o be_v as_o though_o he_o rejoice_v not_o he_o that_o buy_v as_o though_o he_o possess_v not_o he_o that_o use_v this_o world_n as_o though_o he_o use_v it_o not_o 31._o 31._o for_o the_o fashion_n of_o this_o world_n go_v away_o and_o all_o thing_n in_o the_o earth_n be_v but_o mere_a vanity_n take_v unto_o yourselves_o the_o whole_a armour_n of_o god_n wrestle_v hard_a and_o hard_a daily_o against_o all_o tentation_n and_o assault_n of_o the_o devil_n fight_v a_o good_a fight_n stand_v fast_o quit_v yourselves_o like_o man_n resist_v the_o devil_n and_o he_o will_v fly_v from_o you_o conform_v your_o will_n daily_o more_o and_o more_o unto_o god_n will_n yield_v yourselves_o daily_o more_o and_o more_o to_o be_v govern_v by_o his_o law_n order_n your_o step_n so_o here_o in_o his_o way_n as_o have_v right_o into_o that_o city_n whereof_o also_o you_o shall_v have_v possession_n and_o though_o you_o live_v here_o in_o the_o flesh_n yet_o ascend_v in_o heart_n in_o mind_n and_o in_o soul_n into_o heaven_n let_v your_o thought_n and_o desire_n and_o affection_n be_v settle_v there_o your_o faith_n your_o hope_n and_o your_o louâ—_n let_v they_o be_v root_v and_o ground_v there_o and_o then_o amongst_o other_o benefit_n this_o shall_v not_o be_v the_o least_o that_o death_n shall_v noâ—_n come_v hasty_o upon_o you_o yea_o you_o shall_v cheerful_o think_v upoâ—_n death_n death_n shall_v be_v unto_o you_o a_o nay_o thâ—_n strong_a man_n possess_v we_o in_o such_o peace_n that_o we_o never_o know_v what_o tentation_n mean_v and_o therefore_o we_o know_v not_o where_o to_o live_v better_a than_o here_o we_o regard_v not_o to_o submit_v ourselves_o to_o the_o law_n of_o god_n to_o be_v govern_v by_o they_o and_o therefore_o we_o shrink_v at_o death_n for_o fear_n of_o a_o judgement_n we_o never_o ascend_v into_o heaven_n in_o our_o heart_n or_o soul_n we_o never_o raise_v our_o thought_n our_o desire_n or_o our_o affection_n so_o high_a we_o never_o taste_v in_o ourselves_o any_o sparkle_n of_o those_o joy_n which_o be_v prepare_v to_o be_v show_v in_o the_o last_o time_n and_o therefore_o we_o long_v not_o after_o heaven_n but_o we_o rather_o love_v to_o live_v here_o on_o earth_n these_o be_v the_o thing_n i_o say_v that_o make_v we_o shrink_v at_o death_n and_o loath_a to_o die_v let_v we_o then_o hearken_v unto_o these_o word_n of_o exhortation_n and_o let_v we_o have_v our_o conversation_n in_o heaven_n if_o we_o shall_v then_o shall_v death_n be_v welcome_a unto_o we_o and_o we_o shall_v accept_v it_o as_o the_o end_n of_o our_o pilgrimage_n and_o as_o the_o way_n to_o our_o abide_a city_n jerusalem_n which_o be_v above_o and_o unto_o christ_n which_o be_v our_o life_n for_o the_o more_o we_o ascend_v while_o we_o be_v in_o the_o body_n in_o our_o soul_n and_o spirit_n in_o our_o meditation_n and_o desire_n in_o faith_n and_o hope_n into_o heaven_n the_o more_o will_v we_o desire_v to_o remove_v out_o of_o the_o body_n that_o we_o may_v for_o ever_o dwell_v with_o the_o lord_n and_o therefore_o we_o will_v the_o more_o cheerful_o open_a unto_o death_n when_o he_o knock_v at_o our_o door_n i_o hear_v that_o the_o example_n of_o this_o our_o sister_n may_v be_v a_o good_a provocation_n to_o stir_v you_o up_o unto_o these_o thing_n for_o they_o that_o be_v with_o she_o give_v she_o this_o testimony_n that_o in_o this_o time_n when_o the_o lord_n have_v
