not_o at_o bethel_n though_o he_o tell_v not_o the_o true_a cause_n of_o that_o counsel_n for_o he_o drive_v his_o great_a trade_n there_o and_o he_o be_v afraid_a lest_o the_o prophet_n doctrine_n shall_v bring_v down_o his_o market_n and_o therefore_o he_o will_v be_v rid_v of_o he_o 4._o the_o discourse_n and_o insinuation_n of_o this_o subtle_a persecuter_n which_o be_v unsound_a and_o nothing_o else_o but_o so_o many_o tentation_n and_o snare_n lay_v in_o amos_n way_n may_v afford_v unto_o faithful_a minister_n especial_o several_a caution_n and_o direction_n in_o prosecute_a lead_v to_o the_o three_o thing_n to_o be_v explain_v which_o be_v the_o extent_n of_o this_o benefit_n that_o it_o shall_v flow_v out_o as_o a_o river_n to_o water_v not_o only_a judea_n but_o the_o country_n about_o signify_v that_o there_o shall_v not_o only_o be_v abundance_n of_o save_a doctrine_n and_o of_o grace_n and_o refreshment_n in_o the_o church_n of_o israel_n but_o that_o fountain_n open_v up_o among_o they_o shall_v flow_v forth_o to_o other_o nation_n to_o water_v they_o and_o make_v they_o fruitful_a and_o in_o particular_a the_o valley_n of_o shittim_n be_v name_v which_o be_v a_o plain_a in_o moah_n numb_a 25.1_o josh_n 2.1_o which_o it_o seem_v be_v barren_a and_o the_o water_n thereof_o unwholesome_a by_o reason_n it_o lay_v so_o near_o the_o dead-sea_n or_o lake_n of_o sodom_n and_o yet_o it_o be_v promise_v that_o this_o fountain_n shall_v water_v it_o and_o make_v it_o fruitful_a see_v ezek._n 47.8_o doct._n 1._o piety_n have_v indeed_o the_o promise_n and_o be_v the_o short_a cut_n to_o do_v well_o every_o way_n and_o where_o the_o lord_n come_v and_o be_v entertain_v in_o spiritual_a benefit_n he_o will_v give_v what_o be_v good_a in_o other_o thing_n for_o convert_v israel_n shall_v get_v a_o ample_a proof_n of_o what_o god_n be_v able_a to_o do_v in_o all_o age_n if_o it_o be_v for_o his_o people_n good_a in_o that_o day_n the_o mountain_n shall_v drop_v down_o new_a wine_n and_o the_o hill_n shall_v flow_v with_o milk_n and_o all_o the_o river_n of_o judah_n shall_v flow_v with_o water_n 2._o it_o be_v the_o great_a fault_n even_o of_o the_o lord_n people_n that_o their_o estimation_n of_o mercy_n decay_v because_o they_o be_v common_a and_o ordinary_a whereas_o god_n hand_n shall_v be_v see_v dispense_n they_o in_o a_o peculiar_a way_n to_o they_o and_o to_o prevent_v their_o miscarriage_n he_o do_v so_o order_v their_o outward_a mercy_n as_o his_o special_a providence_n may_v be_v see_v in_o give_v they_o therefore_o do_v let_v out_o much_o plenty_n to_o his_o church_n there_o be_v great_a need_n of_o much_o of_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n and_o spiritual_a thing_n of_o his_o kingdom_n therewith_o to_o season_n and_o sanctify_v the_o use_n thereof_o unto_o she_o therefore_o be_v there_o a_o spiritual_a promise_n subjoin_v to_o the_o former_a albeit_o it_o be_v say_v before_o they_o shall_v be_v holy_a without_o utter_o decay_v and_o will_v still_o be_v refreshful_a and_o comfortable_a therefore_o be_v they_o compare_v to_o a_o fountain_n come_v forth_o or_o a_o spring_n which_o never_o run_v dry_a and_o the_o water_n thereof_o be_v still_o fresh_a 5._o spiritual_a gospel-blessing_n be_v twice_o mercy_n when_o not_o only_o they_o refresh_v and_o do_v good_a to_o these_o who_o receive_v they_o but_o do_v make_v they_o instrumental_a to_o make_v the_o same_o spread_v to_o other_o for_o it_o be_v the_o advantage_n of_o this_o fountain_n that_o it_o shall_v come_v forth_o not_o only_o to_o water_v forth_o of_o the_o house_n of_o the_o lord_n and_o shall_v water_v the_o valley_n of_o shittim_n see_v rom._n 11.15_o 7._o the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o gospel_n and_o the_o grace_n and_o refreshment_n be_v to_o come_v upon_o they_o in_o any_o of_o their_o city_n he_o declare_v that_o they_o can_v not_o deny_v but_o they_o be_v of_o god_n and_o therefore_o why_o do_v they_o sleep_v so_o secure_o rest_n be_v toss_v as_o well_o as_o they_o as_o the_o similitude_n hold_v forth_o but_o the_o meaning_n be_v that_o he_o will_v so_o by_o his_o providence_n order_v their_o scatter_n as_o none_o of_o his_o elect_a shall_v perish_v eternal_o and_o so_o as_o he_o will_v not_o lose_v a_o remnant_n of_o that_o people_n out_o of_o who_o his_o elect_a be_v to_o spring_v in_o due_a time_n and_o who_o he_o will_v make_v as_o good_a grain_n to_o grow_v up_o to_o a_o fair_a harvest_n and_o become_v a_o glorious_a church_n to_o he_o doct._n 1._o captivity_n and_o scatter_v and_o wander_v among_o
