adverse_a force_n and_o garrison_n within_o this_o kingdom_n be_v dissipate_v and_o reduce_v a_o present_a quiet_a and_o freedom_n of_o trade_n and_o all_o commerce_n and_o business_n restore_v to_o all_o part_n of_o the_o kingdom_n and_o a_o hopeful_a way_n make_v for_o settle_v of_o a_o sound_n &_o last_a peace_n on_o good_a term_n for_o the_o interest_n of_o the_o kingdom_n instead_o of_o interest_n of_o the_o kingdom_n have_v appear_v and_o have_v hold_v forth_o the_o pretence_n of_o reformation_n and_o uniformity_n to_o colour_n and_o countenance_v their_o design_n of_o set_v up_o their_o own_o irreligious_a or_o pharisaical_a domineer_a faction_n to_o the_o oppression_n of_o all_o other_o people_n and_o herein_o they_o have_v have_v a_o great_a advantage_n to_o further_a their_o aforesaid_a design_n by_o reason_n of_o the_o jealousy_n which_o many_o conscientious_a man_n of_o the_o presbyterian_a judgement_n have_v enterrain_v concern_v this_o army_n and_o concern_v divers_a other_o eminent_a and_o worthy_a instrument_n of_o the_o kingdom_n good_a who_o be_v in_o place_n of_o public_a trust_n and_o power_n be_v suppose_v to_o be_v of_o the_o independent_a way_n city_n of_o london_n they_o first_o with_o much_o activity_n endeavour_v and_o prevail_v to_o new_a model_n the_o common-council_n and_o form_v the_o same_o to_o their_o own_o party_n and_o then_o stir_v they_o up_o to_o petition_v among_o other_o thing_n concurrent_a to_o their_o end_n for_o the_o alteration_n of_o the_o city_n militia_n who_o by_o their_o continual_a violent_a and_o press_a importunity_n at_o the_o parliament_n door_n wring_v from_o the_o parliament_n a_o ordinance_n for_o that_o purpose_n whereby_o they_o procure_v the_o power_n of_o that_o militia_n the_o special_a break_v it_o in_o piece_n even_o before_o the_o relief_n of_o ireland_n be_v provide_v for_o or_o the_o peace_n of_o this_o kingdom_n settle_v and_o though_o all_o this_o go_v under_o the_o pretence_n of_o ease_v the_o present_a burthen●_n of_o the_o kingdom_n yet_o at_o the_o same_o time_n they_o design_v and_o go_v about_o to_o put_v the_o kingdom_n to_o the_o expense_n and_o trouble_v of_o aforesaid_a in_o england_n and_o be_v many_o of_o they_o fill_v and_o act_v with_o personal_a envy_n and_o other_o with_o malignity_n of_o principle_n and_o interest_n against_o this_o army_n and_o the_o work_n of_o god_n by_o it_o it_o will_v not_o serve_v their_o turn_n to_o break_v or_o dis-band_n it_o but_o it_o must_v be_v with_o all_o possible_a dishonour_n injury_n oppression_n and_o provocation_n that_o they_o can_v put_v upon_o it_o and_o it_o be_v too_o evident_a that_o their_o endeavour_n be_v not_o only_o to_o put_v it_o off_o without_o the_o honour_n or_o satisfaction_n due_a to_o it_o for_o the_o service_n it_o have_v do_v but_o to_o
house_n that_o be_v drive_v away_o by_o the_o violence_n aforesaid_a and_o the_o immunity_n of_o the_o army_n in_o advance_v to_o london_n to_o bring_v they_o back_o and_o restore_v the_o parliament_n to_o its_o honour_n and_o freedom_n which_o have_v be_v acknowledge_v with_o public_a thanksgiving_n to_o god_n for_o it_o as_o aforesaid_a be_v subject_v and_o expose_v to_o question_v wherein_o treasonable_a practice_n in_o future_a since_o by_o the_o mean_v aforesaid_a no_o security_n by_o exemplary_a justice_n can_v at_o present_a be_v have_v to_o deter_v any_o from_o the_o like_a we_o wish_v all_o man_n to_o consider_v what_o strait_n we_o be_v in_o this_o case_n put_v upon_o that_o which_o be_v the_o main_a work_n of_o the_o kingdom_n and_o which_o we_o most_o earnest_o thirst_v for_o and_o attend_v upon_o viz._n the_o settle_n of_o a_o peace_n and_o consideration_n of_o our_o proposal_n in_o order_n thereunto_o will_v ask_v time_n to_o bring_v it_o to_o a_o issue_n and_o that_o do_v the_o relieve_n or_o remedy_v of_o the_o press_a grievance_n of_o the_o kingdom_n will_v take_v up_o and_o require_v the_o sit_v of_o the_o parliament_n for_o some_o further_a time_n though_o upon_o the_o settle_n of_o a_o peace_n a_o period_n be_v set_v for_o the_o certain_a end_n of_o it_o now_o for_o the_o body_n of_o this_o army_n or_o so_o great_a apart_o of_o it_o as_o may_v serve_v to_o overpower_v any_o future_a tumult_n or_o force_n that_o may_v arise_v in_o or_o from_o the_o city_n to_o continue_v hereabout_o so_o long_o the_o condition_n of_o the_o country_n hereabout_o and_o the_o nceessity_n of_o the_o city_n in_o point_n of_o provision_n can_v well_o bear_v it_o and_o we_o doubt_v foreign_a force_n that_o be_v already_o upon_o the_o wing_n and_o turbulent_a spirit_n that_o in_o several_a part_n of_o the_o kingdom_n be_v begin_v insurrection_n if_o we_o continue_v fix_v here_o will_v have_v such_o opportunity_n and_o take_v such_o encouragement_n therefrom_o as_o that_o they_o may_v ere_o long_o necessary_o call_v we_o off_o shall_v we_o now_o or_o hereafter_o while_o the_o parliament_n sit_v draw_v off_o the_o army_n from_o about_o the_o city_n without_o exemplary_a justice_n upon_o some_o will_v not_o the_o same_o or_o more_o dangerous_a tumult_n and_o violence_n probable_o return_v upon_o the_o parliament_n and_o the_o like_a or_o worse_a practice_n of_o raise_v a_o new_a war_n be_v revive_v with_o more_o advantage_n to_o our_o enemy_n more_o danger_n to_o we_o and_o the_o kingdom_n and_o less_o hope_n of_o appease_v it_o so_o easy_o and_o happy_o as_o the_o former_a while_o the_o same_o violent_a and_o factious_a spirit_n both_o in_o the_o parliament_n and_o elsewhere_o shall_v continue_v in_o the_o same_o power_n and_o opportunity_n as_o former_o and_o both_o they_o and_o all_o other_o shall_v have_v before_o their_o eye_n the_o encouragement_n of_o that_o impunity_n and_o protection_n yea_o rather_o that_o justification_n which_o they_o have_v hitherto_o find_v from_o within_o the_o parliament_n itself_o in_o the_o past_a practice_n aforemention_v though_o as_o gross_o treasonable_a as_o any_o they_o can_v hereafter_o run_v into_o shall_v we_o or_o any_o other_o for_o the_o obtain_n of_o exemplary_a justice_n upon_o some_o proceed_v to_o impeach_v any_o for_o their_o past_a treasonable_a practice_n what_o hope_v of_o justice_n or_o of_o a_o timely_a dispatch_n therein_o can_v we_o have_v while_o such_o a_o prevail_a party_n of_o man_n interest_v and_o concern_v in_o the_o same_o thing_n shall_v in_o the_o house_n of_o commons_o continue_v to_o be_v judge_n thereof_o or_o at_o least_o be_v ready_a to_o avow_v and_o justify_v the_o offender_n therein_o as_o have_v
