will_v be_v turn_v in_o a_o judgement_n to_o their_o persecutor_n as_o the_o apostle_n import_v in_o the_o latter_a part_n of_o this_o verse_n but_o also_o because_o even_o persecution_n itself_o and_o suffer_v for_o christ_n and_o his_o truth_n in_o reference_n to_o the_o godly_a as_o they_o be_v always_o act_n of_o the_o lord_n love_n to_o they_o heb._n 12.6_o so_o they_o may_v be_v also_o act_n of_o his_o holy_a justice_n correct_v and_o humble_v they_o for_o those_o iniquity_n which_o he_o have_v pardon_v psal_n 99.8_o so_o that_o those_o same_o suffering_n which_o the_o godly_a endure_v for_o christ_n and_o his_o truth_n may_v be_v to_o they_o also_o fatherly_a chastisement_n for_o their_o fault_n which_o in_o scripture_n be_v call_v judgement_n even_o upon_o the_o godly_a psal_n 119.75_o for_o here_o the_o apostle_n speak_v of_o the_o trial_n and_o suffering_n of_o the_o godly_a say_v judgement_n must_v begin_v at_o the_o house_n of_o god_n 5._o the_o trial_n and_o hard_a exercise_n of_o the_o church_n be_v certain_a forerunner_n of_o a_o woeful_a end_n abide_v the_o instrument_n thereof_o when_o the_o lord_n have_v do_v his_o work_n by_o they_o the_o religion_n and_o give_v themselves_o up_o to_o all_o wickedness_n may_v expect_v in_o the_o day_n of_o god_n reckon_n with_o they_o to_o find_v no_o place_n to_o shelter_v themselves_o from_o his_o everlasting_a wrath_n and_o therefore_o there_o be_v no_o reason_n why_o the_o godly_a shall_v fear_v they_o or_o join_v with_o they_o in_o their_o evil_a way_n to_o shun_v suffering_n from_o they_o see_v their_o end_n shall_v be_v so_o terrible_a hence_o learn_v 1._o although_o the_o salvation_n of_o all_o that_o fly_v to_o christ_n and_o take_v themselves_o to_o the_o study_n of_o holiness_n be_v most_o sure_a in_o regard_n of_o christ_n undertake_v to_o cause_v they_o persevere_v till_o they_o come_v to_o it_o joh._n 10.28_o and_o the_o way_n to_o that_o salvation_n be_v in_o itself_o sweet_a prov._n 3.17_o and_o in_o regard_n of_o christ_n large_a allowance_n of_o strength_n and_o comfort_n easy_a to_o the_o renew_a man_n mat._n 11.30_o yet_o consider_v the_o many_o fiery_a trial_n that_o be_v in_o the_o way_n and_o the_o believer_n own_o weakness_n it_o be_v no_o easy_a matter_n for_o they_o to_o win_v through_o to_o the_o possession_n thereof_o the_o consideration_n of_o which_o difficulty_n shall_v be_v so_o far_o from_o discourage_v they_o in_o the_o way_n that_o it_o shall_v provoke_v they_o to_o put_v on_o much_o resolution_n to_o hold_v on_o that_o way_n in_o christ_n strength_n notwithstanding_o all_o difficulty_n for_o not_o the_o possibility_n of_o the_o elect_v lose_v salvation_n but_o the_o difficulty_n of_o attain_v it_o by_o reason_n of_o many_o trial_n and_o their_o own_o weakness_n be_v import_v in_o this_o expression_n as_o a_o motive_n to_o constancy_n if_o the_o righteous_a scarce_o be_v save_v etc._n etc._n 2._o while_o the_o lord_n people_n be_v suffer_v and_o wicked_a person_n prosper_v they_o shall_v put_v their_o heart_n frequent_o to_o consider_v how_o woeful_a and_o unspeakable_o terrible_a the_o end_n of_o these_o wicked_a enemy_n must_v be_v when_o they_o shall_v be_v force_v to_o appear_v before_o their_o judge_n and_o shall_v find_v no_o place_n to_o shelter_v they_o from_o his_o fierce_a wrath_n which_o
