upon_o i_o and_o therefore_o he_o may_v just_o deny_v i_o all_o the_o prayer_n i_o make_v yet_o thus_o he_o have_v command_v that_o seek_v to_o he_o for_o mercy_n i_o must_v and_o if_o the_o lord_n will_v cast_v i_o away_o and_o reject_v my_o prayer_n i_o be_o content_v therewith_o what_o then_o satan_n what_o then_o say_v the_o devil_n i_o think_v this_o will_v have_v make_v thou_o to_o despair_v but_o this_o be_v not_o all_o for_o god_n will_v give_v thou_o over_o and_o leave_v thou_o to_o thyself_o to_o thy_o lust_n and_o corruption_n and_o thy_o latter_a end_n shall_v be_v worse_o than_o thy_o beginning_n thou_o may_v call_v and_o cry_v and_o when_o thou_o have_v do_v be_v overthrow_v god_n will_v leave_v thou_o to_o thyself_o and_o suffer_v thy_o corruption_n to_o prevail_v against_o thou_o and_o thou_o shall_v fall_v fearful_o to_o the_o wound_n of_o thy_o conscience_n to_o the_o grieve_n of_o god_n people_n to_o the_o scandal_n of_o the_o gospel_n to_o the_o reproach_n of_o thy_o own_o person_n to_o this_o answer_v the_o humble_a soul_n if_o the_o lord_n will_v give_v i_o up_o to_o my_o base_a lust_n which_o i_o have_v give_v myself_o so_o much_o liberty_n in_o and_o if_o the_o lord_n will_v leave_v i_o to_o my_o sin_n because_o i_o have_v leave_v his_o gracious_a command_n and_o if_o i_o shall_v fall_v one_o day_n and_o be_v disgrace_v and_o dishonour_v yet_o let_v the_o lord_n be_v honour_v and_o let_v not_o god_n lose_v the_o praise_n of_o his_o power_n and_o justice_n and_o i_o be_o content_v therewith_o what_o then_o satan_n what_o then_o say_v the_o devil_n i_o sure_o think_v now_o thou_o will_v have_v despair_v but_o this_o be_v not_o all_o for_o when_o god_n have_v leave_v thou_o to_o thy_o sin_n than_o will_v he_o break_v out_o in_o vengeance_n against_o thou_o and_o make_v thou_o a_o example_n of_o his_o heavy_a vengeance_n to_o all_o age_n to_o come_v and_o therefore_o it_o be_v best_a for_o thou_o to_o prevent_v this_o untimely_a judgement_n by_o some_o untimely_a death_n to_o this_o reply_v the_o soul_n whatsoever_o god_n can_v do_v or_o will_v do_v i_o know_v not_o yet_o so_o great_a be_v my_o sin_n that_o he_o can_v or_o at_o least_o will_v not_o do_v so_o much_o against_o i_o as_o i_o have_v just_o deserve_v come_v what_o will_v come_v i_o be_o content_v still_o to_o be_v at_o the_o lord_n disposal_n what_o then_o satan_n and_o thus_o he_o run_v satan_n out_o of_o breath_n the_o want_n of_o this_o humiliation_n many_o time_n bring_v a_o man_n to_o desperate_a stand_v and_o sometime_o to_o untimely_a death_n alas_o why_o will_v you_o not_o bear_v the_o wrath_n of_o the_o lord_n it_o be_v true_a indeed_o your_o sin_n be_v great_a and_o the_o wrath_n of_o god_n be_v heavy_a yet_o god_n will_v do_v you_o good_a by_o it_o and_o therefore_o be_v quiet_a in_o time_n of_o war_n when_o the_o great_a canon_n fly_v off_o the_o only_a way_n to_o avoid_v they_o be_v to_o lie_v down_o in_o a_o furrow_n and_o so_o the_o bullet_n fly_v over_o so_o in_o all_o temptation_n of_o satan_n lie_v low_a and_o be_v content_v to_o be_v at_o god_n dispose_n and_o all_o these_o fiery_a temptation_n shall_v not_o be_v able_a to_o hurt_v you_o 2._o in_o heavy_a opposition_n when_o satan_n be_v go_v then_o come_v trouble_n and_o opposition_n of_o the_o world_n in_o all_o which_o humiliation_n will_v quiet_v the_o soul_n a_o man_n be_v sometime_o seasick_a not_o because_o of_o the_o tempest_n but_o because_o of_o his_o full_a stomach_n and_o therefore_o when_o he_o have_v empty_v his_o stomach_n he_o be_v well_o again_o so_o it_o be_v with_o his_o humiliation_n of_o heart_n if_o the_o heart_n be_v empty_v true_o though_o a_o man_n be_v in_o a_o sea_n of_o opposition_n if_o he_o have_v no_o more_o trouble_n in_o his_o stomach_n and_o in_o his_o proud_a heart_n then_o in_o the_o opposition_n of_o the_o world_n he_o may_v be_v very_o well_o quiet_v cast_v disgrace_n upon_o the_o humble_a heart_n causeless_o and_o he_o cure_v it_o thus_o he_o think_v worse_a of_o himself_o then_o any_o man_n else_o can_v do_v and_o if_o they_o will_v make_v he_o vile_a and_o loathsome_a he_o be_v more_o vile_a in_o his_o own_o eye_n than_o they_o can_v make_v he_o o_o that_o i_o can_v bring_v your_o heart_n to_o be_v in_o love_n with_o this_o bless_a grace_n of_o god_n be_v there_o any_o soul_n here_o that_o have_v be_v vex_v with_o the_o temptation_n of_o satan_n opposition_n of_o man_n or_o with_o his_o own_o distemper_n and_o will_v he_o now_o arm_v and_o fence_v himself_o that_o nothing_o shall_v disquiet_v he_o or_o trouble_v he_o but_o in_o all_o to_o be_v above_o all_o and_o to_o rejoice_v in_o all_o o_o then_o be_v humble_v and_o then_o be_v above_o all_o the_o devil_n in_o hell_n certain_o they_o shall_v not_o so_o disquiet_v you_o as_o to_o cause_v you_o to_o be_v mislead_v or_o uncomforted_a if_o you_o will_v but_o be_v humble_v what_o remain_v then_o be_v exhort_v as_o you_o desire_v mercy_n and_o favour_n at_o god_n hand_n to_o this_o humiliation_n and_o for_o motive_n exhortation_n consider_v the_o good_a thing_n that_o god_n have_v promise_v and_o which_o he_o will_v bestow_v upon_o all_o that_o be_v true_o humble_v i_o shall_v reduce_v all_o to_o these_o three_o follow_a benefit_n first_o by_o humiliation_n we_o be_v make_v capable_a of_o all_o those_o treasure_n motive_n of_o wisdom_n grace_n and_o mercy_n that_o be_v in_o christ_n second_o humiliation_n give_v a_o man_n the_o comfort_n of_o all_o that_o motive_n good_a in_o christ_n many_o have_v a_o right_a to_o christ_n and_o be_v dear_a to_o god_n yet_o they_o want_v much_o sweet_a refresh_n because_o they_o want_v this_o humiliation_n
