and_o absolution_n but_o as_o for_o the_o many_o new_a invent_a way_n of_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n they_o be_v unwarrantable_a and_o ineffectual_a to_o the_o purpose_n deceive_v the_o people_n not_o only_o of_o their_o money_n but_o of_o their_o soul_n by_o stay_v on_o thing_n that_o must_v be_v pay_v for_o yet_o profit_v not_o false_a application_n of_o what_o they_o pretend_v the_o merit_n and_o satisfaction_n of_o our_o saviour_n christ_n unto_o this_o debate_n of_o purgatory_n it_o will_v not_o be_v amiss_o to_o add_v something_o concern_v satisfaction_n name_n of_o satisfaction_n and_o of_o do_v the_o thing_n signify_v by_o that_o name_n we_o do_v not_o here_o condemn_v or_o deter_v people_n from_o do_v the_o thing_n which_o in_o the_o language_n of_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n come_v under_o the_o name_n of_o satisfaction_n viz._n those_o penal_n self-afflictives_a act_n of_o self-denial_n or_o such_o spiritual_a exercise_n or_o bodily_a austerity_n reasonable_o use_v that_o way_n but_o we_o commend_v they_o as_o profitable_a and_o to_o good_a purpose_n if_o right_o undertake_v and_o direct_v only_o we_o can_v allow_v the_o ground_n upon_o world_n to_o come_v as_o this_o author_n express_v it_o pa._n 187._o of_o this_o sufficient_o above_o nor_o can_v we_o allow_v the_o purpose_n or_o at_o least_o practice_n of_o the_o romish_a church_n conduce_v to_o increase_v by_o a_o reaction_n or_o work_v back_o again_o upon_o the_o soul_n second_o after_o forgiveness_n they_o be_v profitable_a when_o do_v either_o in_o respect_n to_o sin_v past_a by_o way_n of_o wholesome_a discipline_n to_o make_v more_o wary_a of_o such_o sin_n more_o careful_a to_o avoid_v they_o hereafter_o and_o more_o diligent_a in_o do_v the_o contrary_a duty_n
