and_o the_o rock_n of_o unbelief_n and_o despair_n or_o discouragement_n both_o of_o which_o do_v kill_v the_o christian_n life_n and_o make_v all_o to_o fade_v and_o wither_v but_o this_o be_v the_o way_n and_o only_a way_n to_o preserve_v the_o soul_n in_o good_a case_n even_o to_o keep_v these_o two_o continual_o in_o our_o â—ight_n that_o we_o be_v redeem_v from_o death_n and_o misery_n in_o christ_n and_o that_o not_o to_o serve_v ourselves_o or_o to_o continue_v in_o our_o sin_n but_o that_o we_o may_v be_v redeem_v from_o that_o sin_n that_o dwell_v in_o we_o and_o that_o both_o these_o be_v purchase_v by_o jesus_n christ_n and_o do_v by_o his_o power_n the_o one_o in_o his_o own_o person_n the_o other_o by_o his_o spirit_n within_o we_o i_o will_v have_v you_o correct_v your_o misapprehension_n of_o the_o gospel_n do_v not_o so_o much_o look_v on_o victory_n and_o freedom_n from_o sin_n as_o a_o duty_n and_o task_n though_o we_o be_v infinite_o bind_v to_o it_o but_o have_v reflect_v upon_o his_o holiness_n and_o justice_n according_a to_o the_o letter_n of_o the_o law_n that_o be_v give_v out_o as_o the_o rule_n of_o life_n he_o that_o do_v they_o shall_v live_v in_o they_o and_o curse_a be_v every_o one_o that_o do_v they_o not_o etc._n etc._n wâ—at_o can_v we_o expect_v if_o this_o be_v fulfil_v as_o it_o will_v appear_v god_n truth_n and_o holiness_n require_v than_o we_o be_v go_v no_o place_n for_o mercy_n if_o this_o be_v not_o fulfil_v that_o mercy_n may_v be_v show_v in_o pardon_v sin_n then_o the_o truth_n and_o faithfulness_n of_o god_n seem_v to_o be_v impair_v this_o be_v the_o strait_a that_o all_o sinner_n will_v have_v be_v into_o if_o god_n have_v not_o find_v such_o a_o enlargement_n as_o this_o how_o to_o show_v mercy_n without_o wrong_v justice_n and_o how_o to_o save_v sinner_n without_o impair_n his_o faithfulness_n true_o we_o may_v wonder_v what_o be_v it_o that_o can_v straiten_v his_o majesty_n so_o that_o he_o must_v send_v his_o own_o son_n so_o belove_v of_o he_o and_o bruise_v he_o and_o hide_v his_o face_n from_o he_o yea_o and_o torment_v he_o and_o not_o let_v the_o cup_n pass_v from_o he_o for_o any_o entreaty_n may_v he_o not_o more_o easy_o have_v never_o add_v such_o a_o commination_n to_o the_o law_n thou_o shall_v die_v or_o more_o easy_o relax_v and_o repeal_v that_o sentence_n and_o satisfy_a justice_n that_o put_v he_o upon_o such_o a_o hard_a and_o unpleasant_a work_n as_o the_o bruise_n of_o his_o own_o son_n for_o no_o doubt_n he_o may_v have_v as_o well_o dispense_v with_o
