through_o the_o whole_a course_n of_o his_o most_o holy_a life_n from_o the_o virginal_a enclosure_n of_o his_o mother_n womb_n and_o teach_v it_o upon_o the_o cross_n by_o his_o most_o holy_a death_n this_o be_v that_o which_o he_o have_v leave_v for_o a_o inheritance_n to_o his_o faithful_a follower_n when_o he_o say_v learn_v of_o i_o for_o i_o be_o meek_a and_o lowly_a in_o heart_n and_o when_o afterward_o have_v humble_v himself_o at_o his_o disciple_n foot_n he_o bid_v they_o do_v as_o he_o have_v do_v we_o have_v see_v already_o how_o great_a a_o number_n of_o virtue_n our_o bless_a saviour_n the_o example_n of_o christian_a perfection_n do_v practice_v whilst_o he_o live_v in_o this_o world_n leave_v we_o to_o imitate_v that_o divine_a original_a and_o yet_o for_o all_o that_o he_o call_v upon_o we_o solicit_n and_o persuade_v we_o in_o particular_a to_o copy_n none_o but_o his_o humility_n why_o do_v he_o not_o call_v upon_o we_o to_o practice_v his_o patience_n why_o do_v he_o not_o bid_v we_o learn_v his_o charity_n why_o not_o his_o zeal_n and_o diligence_n why_o not_o his_o fortitude_n justice_n and_o temperance_n but_o only_o his_o humility_n by_o reason_n that_o the_o great_a fall_n and_o wound_n of_o both_o the_o nature_n angelical_a and_o humane_a be_v pride_n and_o so_o that_o nature_n of_o the_o two_o that_o remain_v in_o a_o possibility_n of_o be_v cure_v which_o be_v the_o humane_a and_o which_o our_o lord_n come_v to_o remedy_n find_v its_o principal_a medicine_n in_o humility_n will_v thou_o see_v how_o contrary_a pride_n be_v to_o humility_n that_o thou_o may_v the_o better_o know_v how_o contrary_a humility_n be_v to_o pride_n why_o pride_n be_v the_o natural_a mother_n of_o all_o the_o devil_n she_o engender_v they_o in_o her_o bowel_n and_o a_o infernal_a pride_n make_v they_o devil_n of_o so_o many_o angel_n they_o will_v needs_o be_v like_o god_n and_o equal_v themselves_o to_o he_o in_o power_n and_o that_o pride_n throw_v they_o in_o a_o instant_n from_o heaven_n into_o the_o bottomless_a pit_n will_v thou_o now_o see_v what_o humility_n be_v it_o be_v that_o which_o make_v angel_n to_o be_v more_o angel_n than_o they_o be_v before_o for_o when_o take_v warning_n by_o the_o fall_n of_o their_o companion_n they_o humble_v themselves_o before_o god_n he_o confirm_v they_o in_o his_o grace_n and_o fix_v they_o for_o angel_n eternal_o in_o his_o glory_n above_o the_o danger_n of_o ever_o become_a devil_n and_o will_v thou_o see_v what_o pride_n be_v look_v upon_o our_o first_o parent_n adam_n and_o eve_n and_o their_o posterity_n restore_v to_o grace_n and_o glory_n with_o a_o remedy_n more_o noble_a and_o much_o superior_a to_o the_o felicity_n they_o have_v lose_v will_v thou_o see_v what_o pride_n be_v look_v upon_o cain_n who_o despise_v god_n by_o deny_v the_o best_a of_o his_o fruit_n which_o be_v due_a to_o he_o as_o the_o author_n and_o lord_n of_o the_o inheritance_n and_o be_v proud_a and_o covetous_a forget_v the_o banishment_n the_o example_n and_o the_o tear_n of_o his_o parent_n and_o will_v exempt_v himself_o from_o that_o just_a and_o holy_a tribute_n this_o sin_n carry_v he_o to_o another_o which_o be_v worse_o i_o mean_v that_o of_o envy_n and_o envy_n thrust_v he_o on_o to_o a_o high_a that_o of_o murder_n even_o the_o murder_n of_o a_o brother_n and_o this_o therefore_o of_o all_o those_o virtue_n thou_o ought_v to_o follow_v and_o exercise_v in_o this_o spiritual_a life_n there_o be_v none_o thou_o shall_v so_o deep_o meditate_v upon_o nor_o so_o earnest_o beg_v that_o god_n will_v give_v thou_o as_o that_o of_o holy_a humility_n though_o humility_n be_v a_o virtue_n as_o it_o be_v exercise_v yet_o it_o be_v a_o gift_n as_o it_o be_v bestow_v and_o therefore_o it_o be_v needful_a to_o beg_v it_o of_o god_n with_o earnestness_n constancy_n and_o humbleness_n so_o great_a be_v our_o pride_n and_o so_o great_a be_v our_o vanity_n that_o meek_o and_o humble_o i_o often_o rise_v up_o again_o proud_a insolent_a and_o disdainful_a even_o in_o the_o midst_n of_o humility_n there_o may_v spring_v up_o a_o vanity_n of_o be_v humble_a and_o strength_n to_o the_o lame_a ear_n to_o the_o deaf_a nay_o even_o to_o raise_v the_o dead_a yet_o tremble_v and_o pray_v to_o god_n for_o humility_n if_o thou_o can_v speak_v as_o a_o angel_n and_o and_o perfection_n and_o that_o all_o thou_o go_v about_o succeed_v to_o thy_o desire_n yet_o tremble_v and_o pray_v to_o god_n for_o humility_n believe_v i_o between_o hell_n and_o those_o success_n miracle_n and_o perfection_n there_o be_v not_o the_o breadth_n of_o a_o finger_n i_o say_v not_o so_o much_o since_o all_o the_o distance_n between_o they_o be_v but_o thy_o own_o will_n which_o be_v weak_a and_o of_o less_o power_n than_o thy_o finger_n do_v thou_o work_v miracle_n why_o so_o do_v judas_n do_v thou_o know_v much_o lucifer_n know_v more_o be_v thou_o good_a adam_n be_v much_o better_a be_v thy_o write_n heavenly_a those_o of_o david_n be_v much_o more_o so_o have_v thou_o divine_a revelation_n so_o have_v solomon_n yet_o some_o of_o these_o fell_a and_o other_o of_o they_o be_v lose_v for_o ever_o humility_n i_o say_v humility_n stick_v close_o to_o that_o for_o thereby_o all_o thing_n shall_v redound_v to_o thy_o profit_n and_o without_o it_o any_o thing_n may_v be_v thy_o ruin_n and_o destruction_n go_v with_o humble_a confidence_n into_o the_o presence_n of_o the_o lord_n with_o humbleness_n because_o thou_o be_v wicked_a and_o with_o confidence_n because_o he_o
