9_o 7._o again_o in_o this_o condition_n thou_o must_v be_v for_o ever_o and_o that_o be_v as_o sad_a as_o all_o the_o rest_n for_o if_o a_o man_n be_v to_o have_v all_o his_o sin_n lay_v to_o his_o charge_n and_o communion_n with_o the_o devil_n and_o as_o much_o wrath_n as_o the_o great_a god_n of_o heaven_n can_v inflict_v upon_o they_o i_o say_v if_o it_o be_v but_o for_o a_o time_n even_o ten_o thousand_o year_n and_o so_o end_n there_o will_v be_v ground_n of_o comfort_n and_o hope_n of_o deliverance_n but_o here_o be_v thy_o misery_n this_o be_v thy_o state_n for_o ever_o here_o thou_o must_v be_v for_o ever_o when_o thou_o look_v about_o thou_o and_o see_v what_o a_o innumerable_a company_n of_o howl_a devil_n thou_o be_v among_o thou_o shall_v think_v this_o again_o this_o be_v my_o portion_n for_o ever_o when_o thou_o hâ—st_v be_v in_o hell_n so_o many_o thousand_o year_n as_o there_o be_v star_n in_o the_o firmament_n or_o drop_n in_o the_o sea_n or_o sand_n on_o the_o seashore_n yet_o thou_o have_v to_o lie_v there_o for_o ever_o o_o this_o one_o word_n ever_o how_o will_v it_o torment_v thy_o soul_n friend_n i_o have_v only_o give_v a_o very_a short_a touch_n of_o the_o torment_n of_o hell_n o_o i_o be_o set_v i_o be_o set_v and_o be_o not_o able_a to_o uâ—ter_v what_o my_o mind_n conceive_v of_o the_o torment_n of_o hell_n yet_o this_o let_v i_o say_v to_o thou_o accept_v of_o god_n mercy_n through_o our_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n lest_o thou_o feel_v that_o with_o thy_o conscience_n which_o i_o can_v express_v with_o my_o tongue_n and_o say_v i_o be_o sore_o torment_v in_o this_o flame_n and_o see_v abraham_n afar_o off_o and_o lazarus_n in_o his_o bosom_n when_o the_o damn_a be_v in_o this_o pitiful_a state_n surround_v with_o fear_n with_o terror_n with_o torment_n and_o vengeance_n one_o thing_n they_o shall_v have_v which_o be_v this_o they_o shall_v see_v the_o happy_a and_o bless_a state_n of_o god_n child_n he_o see_v abraham_n afar_o off_o and_o lazarus_n in_o his_o bosom_n which_o as_o i_o say_v before_o be_v the_o happy_a state_n of_o the_o saint_n when_o this_o life_n be_v end_v this_o now_o shall_v be_v so_o far_o from_o be_v a_o ease_n unto_o they_o that_o it_o shall_v most_o wonderful_o aggravate_v or_o heighten_v their_o torment_n as_o i_o say_v before_o there_o shall_v be_v weep_v or_o cause_n of_o lamentation_n when_o they_o shall_v see_v abraham_n and_o isaac_n and_o jacob_n in_o the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n and_o themselves_o thrust_v out_o 2._o observe_v those_o that_o die_v in_o their_o sin_n be_v far_o from_o go_v to_o heaven_n he_o see_v abraham_n a_o far_o off_o and_o lazarus_n in_o his_o bosom_n and_o indeed_o it_o be_v just_a with_o god_n to_o deal_v with_o they_o that_o die_v in_o their_o sin_n according_a to_o what_o they_o have_v do_v and_o to_o make_v they_o who_o be_v far_o from_o righteousness_n now_o to_o stand_v far_o from_o heaven_n to_o all_o eternity_n harken_v to_o this_o you_o stouthearted_a that_o be_v far_o from_o righteousness_n and_o that_o be_v resolve_v to_o go_v on_o in_o your_o sin_n when_o you_o die_v you_o will_v be_v far_o from_o heaven_n you_o will_v see_v lazarus_n but_o it_o will_v be_v afar_o off_o again_o he_o see_v abraham_n afar_o off_o and_o lazarus_n in_o his_o bosom_n these_o be_v some_o of_o the_o thing_n that_o the_o damn_a do_v behold_v so_o soon_o as_o they_o come_v into_o torment_n mark_v and_o he_o see_v lazarus_n in_o abraham_n bosom_n lazarus_n who_o be_v he_o why_o even_o he_o that_o be_v so_o slight_v so_o disregard_v so_o undervalue_v by_o this_o ungodly_a one_o while_o he_o be_v in_o the_o world_n he_o see_v lazarus_n in_o his_o bosom_n from_o whence_o observe_v that_o those_o who_o live_v and_o die_v the_o enemy_n of_o the_o saint_n of_o god_n let_v they_o be_v never_o so_o great_a or_o stout_a let_v they_o bear_v never_o so_o much_o sway_v while_o they_o be_v in_o the_o world_n let_v they_o â—rag_v and_o boast_v never_o so_o much_o while_o they_o be_v here_o they_o shall_v in_o spite_n of_o their_o tooth_n see_v the_o saint_n yea_o the_o poor_a saint_n even_o the_o lazarus_n or_o the_o ragged_a one_o that_o belong_v to_o jesus_n to_o be_v in_o a_o better_a condition_n than_o themselves_o o_o who_o do_v you_o think_v be_v in_o the_o best_a condition_n or_o who_o do_v you_o think_v see_v themselves_o in_o the_o best_a condition_n he_o that_o be_v in_o hell_n or_o he_o that_o be_v in_o heaven_n he_o that_o be_v in_o darkness_n or_o he_o that_o be_v in_o light_n he_o that_o be_v in_o everlasting_a joy_n or_o he_o that_o be_v in_o everlasting_a torment_n the_o one_o with_o god_n christ_n saint_n angel_n the_o other_o in_o torment_a flame_n under_o the_o curse_n of_o god_n eternal_a hatred_n with_o the_o devil_n and_o their_o angel_n together_o with_o a_o innumerable_a company_n of_o howl_v roar_a curse_a ever_o burn_a reprobate_n certain_o this_o observation_n will_v be_v easy_o prove_v to_o be_v true_a here_o in_o this_o world_n by_o he_o that_o look_v upon_o it_o with_o a_o understand_a heart_n and_o will_v clear_v itself_o to_o be_v true_a in_o the_o world_n to_o come_v by_o such_o as_o shall_v go_v either_o to_o heaven_n or_o to_o hell_n 2._o the_o second_o observation_n from_o these_o word_n and_o see_v abraham_n afar_o off_o and_o lazarus_n in_o his_o bosom_n be_v this_o they_o that_o be_v the_o persecutor_n of_o the_o saint_n of_o the_o lord_n now_o in_o this_o world_n shall_v see_v the_o lord_n
sorrow_n of_o mind_n and_o thy_o life_n shall_v hang_v in_o doubt_n before_o thou_o and_o thou_o shall_v fear_v day_n and_o night_n and_o shall_v have_v none_o assurance_n of_o thy_o life_n in_o the_o morning_n thou_o shall_v say_v will_v god_n it_o be_v even_o and_o at_o even_o thou_o shall_v say_v will_v god_n it_o be_v morning_n for_o the_o fear_n of_o thy_o heart_n wherewith_o thou_o shall_v fear_v and_o for_o the_o sight_n of_o thy_o eye_n which_o thou_o shall_v see_v nay_o thou_o will_v find_v worse_a thing_n to_o thy_o woe_n then_o this_o scripture_n do_v manifest_a for_o indeed_o there_o be_v no_o tongue_n able_a to_o express_v the_o horror_n terror_n torment_n and_o eternal_a misery_n that_o those_o poor_a soul_n shall_v undergo_v without_o the_o least_o mitigation_n or_o ease_n and_o a_o very_a great_a part_n of_o it_o shall_v come_v from_o that_o quick_a full_a and_o continual_a remembrance_n of_o their_o sin_n that_o they_o shall_v have_v and_o therefore_o there_o be_v much_o weight_n in_o these_o word_n son_n remember_v that_o thou_o in_o thy_o life_n time_n have_v thy_o good_a thing_n from_o these_o word_n you_o see_v this_o be_v to_o be_v observe_v that_o the_o ungodly_a shall_v remember_v or_o have_v in_o remembrance_n the_o mispending_a their_o life_n remember_v that_o in_o thy_o life_n time_n thou_o have_v thy_o good_a thing_n you_o may_v take_v these_o word_n good_a thing_n either_o simple_o for_o the_o thing_n of_o this_o world_n which_o in_o themselves_o be_v call_v and_o may_v be_v call_v good_a thing_n or_o else_o with_o these_o word_n namely_o the_o thing_n of_o this_o life_n all_o the_o pleasure_n delight_n profit_n and_o vanity_n which_o the_o ignorant_a people_n of_o the_o world_n do_v count_v their_o good_a thing_n and_o do_v very_o much_o cheer_v themselves_o therewith_o soul_n soul_n eat_v drink_v and_o be_v merry_a for_o thou_o have_v much_o good_n lay_v up_o for_o many_o year_n luke_n 12._o 20._o now_o i_o say_v god_n according_a to_o his_o glorious_a power_n and_o wisdom_n will_v make_v poor_a creature_n have_v always_o in_o their_o mind_n a_o fresh_a and_o clear_a remembrance_n of_o their_o ill-spent_a life_n he_o will_v say_v unto_o they_o remember_v remember_v that_o in_o thy_o life-time_n it_o be_v thus_o and_o thus_o with_o thou_o and_o in_o thy_o life-time_n thy_o carriage_n be_v so_o and_o so_o if_o sinner_n may_v have_v their_o choice_n they_o will_v not_o have_v their_o sin_n and_o transgression_n so_o much_o in_o remembrance_n as_o be_v evident_a by_o their_o carriage_n here_o in_o this_o will_v for_o they_o will_v not_o endure_v to_o entertain_v a_o serious_a thought_n of_o their_o filthy_a life_n they_o put_v far_o away_o the_o evil_a day_n amos_n 6._o 3._o ezek._n 12._o 27._o but_o will_v labour_v by_o all_o mean_n to_o put_v the_o thought_n of_o it_o out_o of_o their_o mind_n but_o there_o they_o shall_v be_v make_v to_o remember_v to_o purpose_n and_o to_o think_v continual_o of_o their_o ungodly_a deed_n and_o therefore_o it_o be_v say_v that_o when_o our_o lord_n jesus_n come_v to_o judgement_n it_o will_v be_v to_o convince_v the_o ungodly_a world_n of_o their_o wickel_n and_o ungodly_a deed_n mark_v to_o convince_v they_o judas_n 14_o 15._o they_o will_v not_o willing_o take_v notice_n of_o they_o now_o but_o then_o they_o shall_v hereafter_o in_o spite_n of_o their_o tooth_n and_o also_o between_o this_o and_o then_o these_o that_o die_v out_o of_o christ_n shall_v be_v make_v to_o see_v acknowledge_v and_o confess_v do_v what_o they_o can_v when_o they_o lift_v up_o their_o eye_n in_o hell_n and_o remember_v their_o transgression_n god_n will_v be_v a_o swift_a witness_n against_o they_o mal._n 3._o 5._o and_o will_v say_v remember_v what_o thou_o do_v in_o thy_o life-time_n how_o thou_o do_v live_v in_o thy_o life_n time_n ha_o friend_n if_o thou_o do_v not_o in_o these_o day_n of_o light_n remember_v the_o day_n of_o darkness_n eccles._n 11._o 8._o the_o day_n of_o death_n hell_n and_o judgement_n thou_o shall_v be_v make_v in_o the_o day_n of_o darkness_n death_n hell_n and_o at_o the_o judgement_n too_o to_o remember_v the_o day_n of_o the_o gospel_n and_o how_o thou_o do_v disregard_n they_o too_o to_o thy_o own_o destruction_n and_o everlasting_a misery_n this_o be_v intimate_v in_o that_o 25._o of_o matthew_n remember_v that_o in_o thy_o life-time_n thou_o have_v thy_o good_a thing_n the_o great_a god_n instead_o of_o give_v the_o ungodly_a any_o ease_n will_v even_o aggravate_v their_o torment_n first_o by_o slight_v their_o perplexity_n and_o by_o tell_v of_o they_o what_o they_o must_v be_v think_v of_o remember_v say_v he_o o_o you_o lose_a soul_n that_o you_o have_v your_o joy_n in_o your_o life-time_n your_o peace_n in_o your_o life-time_n your_o comfort_n delight_n ease_n wealth_n health_n your_o heaven_n your_o happiness_n and_o your_o portion_n in_o your_o life-time_n o_o miserable_a state_n thou_o will_v then_o be_v in_o a_o sad_a condition_n indeed_o when_o thou_o shall_v see_v that_o thou_o have_v have_v thy_o good_a thing_n thy_o best_a thing_n thy_o pleasant_a thing_n for_o that_o be_v clear_o signify_v by_o these_o word_n remember_v that_o thou_o in_o thy_o life-time_n have_v thy_o good_a thing_n or_o all_o the_o good_a thing_n thou_o be_v like_a to_o have_v from_o whence_o take_v notice_n of_o another_o truth_n though_o it_o be_v a_o dreadful_a one_o which_o be_v this_o there_o be_v many_o poor_a creature_n who_o have_v all_o their_o good_a sweet_a and_o comfortable_a thing_n in_o this_o life_n or_o while_o they_o be_v alive_a in_o this_o world_n remember_v say_v hâ—â—_n that_o in_o thy_o life-time_n thou_o have_v thy_o good_a thing_n psal._n 17._o 14._o the_o wicked_n good_a thing_n will_v short_o have_v a_o end_n they_o will_v last_v no_o long_o with_o they_o than_o this_o life_n or_o their_o life-â—â—ne_n that_o scripture_n be_v not_o write_v in_o vain_a it_o be_v like_o the_o crackle_n of_o thorn_n under_o a_o pot_n make_v a_o little_a blaze_n for_o a_o sudden_a a_o little_a heat_n for_o a_o while_n but_o come_v and_o consider_v they_o by_o and_o by_o and_o instead_o of_o a_o comfortable_a heat_n you_o will_v find_v nothing_o but_o a_o few_o dead_a ash_n and_o instead_o of_o a_o flame_a fire_n nothing_o but_o a_o smell_n of_o smoke_n there_o be_v a_o time_n come_v that_o the_o ungodly_a will_v be_v glad_a of_o a_o better_a portion_n when_o they_o shall_v see_v the_o vanity_n of_o this_o that_o be_v when_o they_o shall_v see_v what_o a_o poor_a thing_n it_o be_v for_o a_o man_n to_o have_v his_o portion_n in_o this_o world_n it_o be_v true_a while_o they_o be_v here_o on_o this_o side_n hell_n they_o think_v there_o be_v nothing_o to_o be_v compare_v with_o riches_n honour_n and_o pleasure_n in_o this_o world_n which_o make_v they_o cry_v out_o who_o will_v show_v we_o any_o good_a psal._n 4._o 6._o that_o be_v comparable_a to_o the_o pleasure_n profit_n and_o glory_n of_o this_o world_n but_o then_o they_o will_v see_v there_o be_v another_o thing_n that_o be_v better_a and_o of_o more_o value_n than_o ten_o thousand_o world_n and_o serious_o friend_n will_v it_o not_o grieve_v you_o trouble_n perplex_v and_o torment_v you_o when_o you_o shall_v see_v that_o you_o lose_v heaven_n for_o a_o little_a pleasure_n and_o profit_n in_o your_o life-time_n certain_o it_o will_v grieve_v you_o and_o perplex_v you_o exceed_o to_o see_v what_o a_o bless_a heaven_n you_o leave_v for_o a_o dunghill_n world_n oh_o that_o you_o do_v but_o believe_v this_o that_o you_o do_v but_o consider_v this_o and_o say_v within_o yourselves_o what_o shall_v i_o be_v content_v with_o my_o portion_n in_o this_o world_n what_o shall_v i_o lose_v heaven_n for_o this_o world_n i_o say_v consider_v it_o while_o you_o have_v daylight_n and_o gospel-light_n while_o the_o son_n of_o god_n do_v hold_v out_o term_n of_o in_o such_o a_o case_n soul_n consider_v be_v it_o not_o miserable_a to_o lose_v heaven_n for_o 20_o 30_o or_o 40_o year_n sin_v against_o god_n when_o thy_o life_n be_v do_v thy_o heaven_n be_v also_o do_v when_o death_n come_v to_o separate_v thy_o soul_n and_o body_n in_o that_o day_n also_o thou_o must_v have_v thy_o heaven_n and_o happiness_n separate_v from_o thou_o and_o thou_o from_o that_o consider_v these_o thing_n betimes_o lest_o thou_o have_v thy_o portion_n
a_o word_n while_o thou_o be_v make_v sure_a of_o eternal_a ruin_n he_o by_o faith_n in_o the_o blood_n of_o the_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n be_v make_v sure_o of_o eternal_a salvation_n therefore_o now_o he_o be_v comfort_v and_o thou_o be_v torment_v here_o than_o you_o may_v see_v that_o as_o the_o righteous_a shall_v not_o be_v always_o void_a of_o comfort_n and_o blessedness_n so_o neither_o shall_v the_o ungodly_a go_v always_o without_o their_o punishment_n as_o sure_o as_o god_n be_v in_o heaven_n it_o will_v be_v thus_o they_o must_v have_v their_o several_a portion_n and_o therefore_o you_o that_o be_v the_o saint_n of_o the_o lord_n follow_v on_o be_v not_o dismay_v for_o asmuch_o as_o you_o know_v that_o your_o labour_n be_v not_o in_o vain_a in_o the_o lord_n 1_o torment_n that_o will_v assure_o without_o mercy_n lie_v upon_o you_o vers._n 26._o and_o beside_o all_o this_o between_o we_o and_o you_o there_o be_v a_o great_a gulf_n fix_v so_o that_o they_o which_o will_v go_v from_o hence_o to_o you_o can_v neither_o can_v they_o come_v to_o we_o that_o will_v come_v from_o thence_o these_o word_n be_v still_o part_n of_o that_o answer_n that_o the_o soul_n in_o hell_n shall_v have_v for_o all_o their_o sobbing_n sigh_v â—grievous_a cry_n tear_n and_o desire_n that_o they_o have_v to_o be_v release_v out_o of_o those_o intolerable_a pain_n they_o feel_v and_o be_v perplex_v with_o and_o o_o methinks_v the_o word_n at_o the_o first_o view_n if_o right_o consider_v be_v enough_o to_o make_v any_o hard-hearted_a sinner_n in_o the_o world_n to_o fall_v down_o dead_a the_o verse_n i_o last_o speak_v to_o be_v and_o be_v a_o very_a terrible_a one_o and_o aggravate_v the_o torment_n of_o poor_a sinner_n wonderful_o where_o he_o say_v remember_v that_o thou_o in_o thy_o life_n time_n have_v thy_o good_a thing_n and_o lazarus_n his_o evil_a thing_n etc._n etc._n i_o say_v these_o word_n be_v very_o terrible_a to_o those_o poor_a soul_n that_o die_v out_o of_o christ._n but_o these_o latter_a word_n do_v much_o more_o hold_v out_o their_o sorrow_n they_o be_v speak_v as_o to_o the_o present_a condition_n then_o upon_o the_o sinner_n these_o do_v not_o only_o back_o the_o former_a but_o do_v yet_o further_o aggravate_v their_o misery_n hold_v forth_o that_o which_o will_v be_v more_o intolerable_a the_o former_a verse_n be_v enough_o to_o smite_v any_o sinner_n into_o a_o swoon_n but_o this_o to_o make_v he_o fall_v down_o dead_a where_o he_o say_v and_o beside_o all_o this_o there_o be_v still_o something_o to_o aggravate_v thy_o misery_n yet_o far_o more_o abundant_o i_o shall_v brief_o speak_v to_o the_o word_n as_o they_o have_v relation_n to_o the_o terror_n speak_v of_o in_o the_o verse_n before_o as_o if_o he_o have_v
