may_v give_v to_o his_o people_n at_o some_o time_n albeit_o the_o lord_n do_v not_o always_o see_v it_o meet_v to_o heap_v plenty_n of_o corn_n and_o wine_n and_o oil_n upon_o his_o people_n yet_o they_o get_v still_o as_o much_o as_o with_o godliness_n and_o contentment_n make_v they_o not_o only_o subsist_v but_o be_v as_o well_o as_o when_o they_o have_v most_o and_o they_o may_v be_v as_o free_v of_o anxiety_n in_o great_a want_n as_o if_o they_o have_v great_a plenty_n for_o when_o they_o seek_v the_o best_a thing_n other_o thing_n will_v certain_o be_v add_v matth._n 6.33_o when_o god_n have_v give_v they_o his_o own_o son_n he_o will_v not_o deny_v lesser_a thing_n when_o they_o be_v need_v rom._n 8.32_o and_o his_o providence_n in_o hear_v the_o need_n of_o creature_n may_v ease_v they_o 3._o god_n be_v so_o tender_a a_o respector_n of_o necessity_n that_o he_o have_v a_o ear_n to_o hear_v the_o dumb_a cry_n of_o very_o insensible_a creature_n in_o their_o need_n and_o that_o they_o may_v be_v useful_a one_o to_o another_o especial_o for_o the_o good_a of_o his_o people_n for_o when_o the_o heaven_n be_v make_v iron_n it_o have_v a_o cry_n which_o he_o will_v hear_v it_o 4._o god_n reconcile_a people_n be_v to_o read_v not_o only_o god_n love_v in_o their_o plenty_n but_o that_o all_o the_o creation_n which_o groan_n under_o man_n sin_n do_v in_o their_o kind_n with_o a_o goodwill_n concur_v to_o serve_v he_o who_o be_v now_o at_o peace_n with_o their_o maker_n so_o much_o may_v be_v gather_v also_o from_o their_o call_v one_o to_o another_o in_o their_o in_o that_o so_o many_o thing_n concur_v to_o serve_v they_o and_o provide_v for_o they_o for_o here_o heaven_n and_o earth_n concur_v for_o this_o end_n 6._o whatever_o it_o be_v that_o one_o creature_n afford_v unto_o another_o or_o may_v be_v in_o the_o course_n of_o nature_n expect_v from_o it_o yet_o every_o creature_n in_o itself_o be_v empty_a and_o must_v be_v supply_v by_o god_n before_o it_o satisfy_v any_o for_o let_v the_o earth_n call_v to_o the_o heaven_n for_o ordinary_a rain_n and_o influence_n yet_o they_o can_v afford_v it_o till_o god_n hear_v they_o 7._o as_o the_o lord_n be_v not_o to_o be_v tempt_v but_o wait_v on_o in_o his_o establish_a order_n for_o any_o thing_n as_o here_o they_o must_v expect_v to_o be_v feed_v by_o corn_n and_o wine_n and_o oil_n come_v in_o god_n establish_a course_n of_o nature_n so_o we_o be_v not_o to_o rest_v on_o any_o such_o order_n or_o course_n of_o nature_n but_o to_o see_v god_n hand_n in_o it_o who_o establish_v and_o bless_v it_o for_o such_o end_n for_o the_o corn_n and_o wine_n and_o oil_n hear_v jezreel_n not_o answer_v any_o prayer_n make_v to_o they_o but_o supply_v these_o necessity_n which_o they_o be_v appoint_v for_o and_o the_o earth_n do_v bring_v forth_o these_o and_o the_o heaven_n give_v influence_n for_o that_o end_n yet_o so_o as_o it_o be_v god_n who_o make_v all_o these_o so_o to_o do_v and_o he_o be_v to_o be_v see_v do_v so_o not_o that_o he_o hear_v only_o the_o heaven_n and_o then_o they_o hear_v all_o the_o rest_n of_o second_o cause_n but_o that_o begin_n at_o the_o heaven_n earth_n or_o climb_v up_o to_o heaven_n yet_o he_o will_v take_v they_o and_o bring_v they_o down_o in_o top_n of_o mountain_n he_o will_v find_v they_o out_o in_o depth_n of_o the_o sea_n he_o have_v monster_n ready_a to_o bite_v and_o devour_v they_o and_o their_o think_v to_o escape_v by_o yield_v unto_o enemy_n and_o be_v carry_v into_o captivity_n will_v not_o for_o all_o that_o preserve_v they_o from_o the_o sword_n it_o be_v also_o further_o declare_v that_o the_o lord_n will_v do_v all_o this_o in_o his_o great_a displeasure_n against_o they_o which_o shall_v watch_v over_o they_o for_o evil_a and_o not_o for_o good_a doct._n 1._o secure_a and_o and_o presumptuous_a sinner_n be_v endless_a in_o multiply_v false_a confidence_n and_o even_o when_o trouble_n break_v out_o upon_o they_o they_o will_v not_o be_v drive_v to_o god_n nor_o see_v their_o extreme_a danger_n but_o be_v ready_a to_o think_v they_o will_v find_v way_n abundant_a to_o get_v out_o for_o so_o be_v here_o import_v in_o all_o these_o supposition_n of_o dig_v to_o hell_n climb_v to_o heaven_n etc._n etc._n which_o show_v how_o many_o shift_n they_o dream_v of_o to_o avoid_v this_o sentence_n even_o albeit_o it_o shall_v break_v forth_o in_o execution_n 2._o among_o other_o delude_a confidence_n whereby_o secure_a sinner_n think_v to_o shelter_v themselves_o this_o be_v one_o that_o they_o bottom_n of_o the_o sea_n &c_n &c_n be_v here_o produce_v not_o that_o they_o can_v do_v so_o much_o for_o their_o own_o safety_n but_o to_o show_v how_o vain_a their_o confidence_n be_v see_v albeit_o they_o can_v do_v much_o more_o yet_o it_o will_v not_o avail_v they_o 4._o it_o be_v righteous_a with_o god_n not_o to_o rest_v satisfy_v with_o the_o subdue_a yea_o and_o captivity_n of_o a_o incorrigible_a and_o impenitent_a people_n but_o to_o pursue_v they_o with_o the_o sword_n in_o all_o the_o corner_n where_o they_o be_v carry_v captive_n for_o so_o be_v threaten_v here_o though_o they_o go_v into_o captivity_n before_o their_o enemy_n thence_o will_v i_o command_v the_o sword_n and_o it_o shall_v slay_v they_o see_v ezek._n 5.2_o 5._o it_o be_v a_o sad_a addition_n these_o they_o be_v displease_v with_o appear_v in_o their_o look_n and_o their_o watch_v all_o advantage_n to_o be_v about_o with_o they_o 6._o god_n pursue_v in_o anger_n be_v too_o sore_a a_o party_n for_o a_o sinner_n he_o can_v take_v advantage_n of_o they_o at_o every_o step_n to_o deprive_v they_o of_o all_o good_a and_o afflict_v they_o with_o all_o kind_n of_o evil_n and_o when_o sinner_n be_v so_o cross_v and_o afflict_v on_o every_o hand_n they_o be_v bind_v to_o read_v the_o vigilant_a displeasure_n and_o severity_n of_o god_n in_o it_o for_o so_o much_o be_v import_v in_o this_o i_o will_v set_v my_o eye_n upon_o they_o for_o evil_a and_o not_o for_o good_a that_o he_o will_v be_v so_o to_o say_v intent_n and_o watchful_a to_o reach_v they_o as_o he_o can_v easy_o do_v see_v jer._n 44.11_o and_o this_o be_v yet_o the_o sad_a that_o a_o reconcile_a people_n have_v a_o contrary_a promise_n jer._n 24.6_o verse_n 5._o and_o the_o lord_n god_n of_o host_n be_v he_o to_o be_v but_o the_o place_n of_o their_o sojourn_v and_o pilgrimage_n what_o they_o account_v a_o paradise_n they_o will_v judge_v but_o a_o wilderness_n and_o that_o which_o smile_v upon_o they_o trouble_n and_o exercise_n for_o their_o use_n and_o profit_n for_o as_o he_o do_v so_o to_o israel_n of_o old_a after_o their_o deliverance_n out_o of_o egypt_n so_o he_o will_v do_v to_o israel_n after_o their_o conversion_n i_o will_v allure_v she_o and_o bring_v she_o to_o the_o wilderness_n such_o a_o lot_n as_o this_o serve_v to_o stir_v up_o yet_o more_o to_o repentance_n be_v the_o way_n capable_a of_o much_o mercy_n and_o many_o proof_n of_o love_n for_o when_o he_o bring_v she_o to_o the_o wilderness_n he_o speak_v comfortable_o to_o she_o or_o deal_v kind_o with_o she_o so_o the_o accusation_n be_v subjoin_v which_o be_v more_o general_a lay_v to_o their_o charge_n the_o violation_n of_o the_o law_n in_o many_o omission_n and_o commission_n against_o both_o table_n namely_o that_o there_o be_v no_o truth_n nor_o tenderness_n in_o their_o deal_n no_o spark_n of_o the_o knowledge_n of_o god_n shine_v in_o their_o way_n but_o on_o the_o contrary_a perjury_n and_o rash_a swear_n lie_a murder_n steal_v and_o adultery_n be_v commit_v without_o moderation_n and_o sin_n heap_v upon_o sin_n whence_o learn_v 1._o albeit_o the_o servant_n of_o the_o lord_n may_v ofttimes_o have_v little_a or_o no_o ground_n of_o hope_n that_o their_o ministry_n shall_v have_v any_o success_n among_o a_o people_n yet_o it_o be_v their_o duty_n have_v god_n call_v not_o to_o give_v over_o while_o they_o have_v any_o opportunity_n for_o albeit_o in_o the_o former_a sermon_n the_o matter_n be_v so_o close_v that_o israel_n be_v certain_o to_o go_v into_o captivity_n yet_o on_o they_o to_o receive_v they_o with_o other_o respect_n than_o be_v give_v when_o man_n be_v only_o see_v for_o this_o end_n do_v he_o begin_v with_o hear_v the_o word_n of_o the_o lord_n 4._o when_o people_n and_o especial_o the_o church_n do_v sin_n they_o must_v expect_v a_o process_n to_o follow_v it_o and_o when_o people_n do_v not_o make_v right_a use_n of_o better_a tiding_n from_o the_o word_n they_o must_v expect_v sad_a challenge_n and_o sentence_n from_o it_o and_o when_o the_o authority_n of_o god_n contend_v by_o his_o word_n be_v not_o heed_v the_o lord_n be_v provoke_v to_o plead_v the_o controversy_n more_o immediate_o for_o the_o lord_n have_v a_o controversy_n follow_v on_o sin_n and_o this_o be_v plead_v partly_o by_o the_o word_n here_o and_o that_o not_o succeed_v by_o the_o judgement_n here_o threaten_v 5._o sin_n be_v so_o much_o the_o more_o odious_a and_o do_v provoke_v god_n when_o it_o be_v universal_a and_o commit_v by_o these_o who_o have_v find_v he_o true_a in_o his_o promise_n and_o rich_a in_o his_o bounty_n to_o they_o for_o it_o be_v a_o controversy_n with_o the_o inhabitant_n of_o the_o land_n or_o with_o the_o body_n of_o the_o people_n now_o corrupt_v and_o with_o the_o people_n who_o be_v settle_v in_o that_o good_a land_n which_o he_o have_v swear_v to_o their_o father_n to_o give_v it_o they_o 6._o it_o do_v commend_v the_o lord_n mercy_n and_o clear_v his_o justice_n when_o it_o be_v manifest_v on_o his_o sinful_a people_n that_o he_o do_v not_o strike_v before_o he_o have_v warn_v they_o of_o their_o danger_n and_o debate_v the_o matter_n with_o they_o for_o here_o he_o warn_v they_o by_o the_o prophet_n and_o before_o he_o execute_v the_o sentence_n he_o do_v plead_v the_o cause_n that_o they_o may_v second_o table_n therefore_o do_v he_o begin_v the_o challenge_n with_o these_o and_o insist_v most_o on_o they_o 9_o whatever_o secret_a mourner_n there_o may_v be_v in_o a_o corrupt_a church_n yet_o when_o the_o contagion_n become_v general_a and_o rise_v to_o a_o height_n the_o lord_n will_v take_v no_o notice_n of_o they_o as_o to_o hold_v off_o a_o common_a calamity_n for_o albeit_o there_o be_v no_o doubt_n some_o good_a man_n in_o the_o land_n yet_o he_o say_v there_o be_v no_o truth_n etc._n etc._n in_o the_o land_n because_o they_o may_v get_v their_o soul_n for_o a_o prey_n but_o will_v not_o turn_v his_o anger_n from_o the_o land_n see_v ezek._n 9.4_o 5._o &_o 14.14_o 16_o 18._o 10._o the_o lord_n abhor_v flattery_n in_o his_o people_n their_o want_n of_o ingenuity_n their_o politic_a and_o subtle_a carriage_n and_o unfaithfulness_n and_o deceit_n in_o bargain_n and_o trust_v that_o may_v be_v the_o cause_n of_o god_n sore_a controversy_n which_o man_n look_v on_o as_o a_o handsome_a conveyance_n for_o the_o lord_n have_v a_o controversy_n because_o there_o be_v no_o truth_n 11._o such_o as_o cast_v off_o bowel_n of_o mercy_n and_o exercise_v oppression_n either_o where_o the_o cause_n be_v unjust_a or_o a_o just_a cause_n cruel_o prosecute_v and_o affliction_n add_v to_o the_o afflict_a may_v expect_v judgement_n without_o mercy_n if_o they_o persevere_v in_o it_o for_o the_o lord_n have_v a_o controversy_n because_o there_o be_v no_o mercy_n 12._o as_o the_o true_a knowledge_n of_o god_n be_v the_o fountain_n and_o root_n of_o true_a religion_n and_o as_o man_n ill_a carriage_n in_o duty_n one_o to_o another_o do_v prove_v they_o void_a of_o the_o knowledge_n of_o god_n and_o of_o religion_n profess_v what_o they_o will_v so_o ignorance_n of_o god_n continue_v in_o and_o affect_v and_o appear_v in_o such_o effect_n be_v the_o matter_n of_o a_o sad_a controversy_n against_o the_o church_n for_o he_o challenge_v that_o there_o be_v no_o knowledge_n of_o god_n in_o the_o land_n that_o be_v they_o be_v void_a of_o any_o religion_n which_o flow_v from_o save_v knowledge_n of_o god_n and_o accompany_v it_o and_o in_o their_o way_n towards_o other_o they_o walk_v as_o if_o there_o be_v no_o god_n in_o heaven_n and_o this_o be_v a_o sad_a challenge_n when_o it_o be_v in_o the_o land_n where_o he_o may_v and_o especial_o shall_v be_v know_v and_o acknowledge_v psal_n 76.1_o see_v ps_n 14.1_o 2_o thess_n 1.8_o 13._o not_o only_o perjury_n and_o false_a swear_n but_o vain_a and_o rash_a swear_n wherein_o man_n bewray_v their_o high_a be_v desert_v as_o to_o the_o want_n of_o sensible_a comfort_n and_o manifestation_n of_o god_n when_o yet_o they_o be_v pursue_v duty_n as_o psal_n 88.13_o 14._o 3._o repentance_n be_v then_o true_a mountain_n of_o the_o temple_n be_v a_o type_n therefore_o they_o shall_v be_v sensible_a and_o hearken_v to_o these_o alarm_n and_o invitation_n 6_o when_o god_n threaten_v or_o inflict_v judgement_n earth_n to_o overturn_v enemy_n god_n people_n may_v be_v exercise_v with_o many_o fear_n and_o apprehension_n that_o the_o storm_n will_v break_v upon_o they_o therefore_o they_o need_v a_o promise_n to_o secure_v they_o against_o this_o 6._o nothing_o will_v be_v able_a to_o secure_v the_o heart_n of_o god_n people_n against_o the_o terror_n of_o a_o time_n of_o great_a commotion_n but_o god_n
