We must all appear before the judgment-seat of Christ that every one may receive the things done in his body according to that he hath done whether it be good or bad knowing therefore the terror of the Lord c. 2 Cor. 5. 9 10 11. It is a righteous thing with God to recompence tribulation to them who trouble you and to you who
are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty Angels in flaming fire taking vengeance of them who know not God and obey not the Gospel of our Lord Jesus who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his power 2 Thess. 1. 6 7 8 9. We beseech you by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ that ye be not soon shaken in mind c. as that the day of Christ is at hand c. except there come first a falling away and that man of sin be revealed c. 2 Thess. 2. 1 2 3. There shall come in the last days scoffers c. and saying Where is the promise of his coming for since the fathers fell asleep all things continue as they were from the beginning c. the heavens and the earth which now are by the same word are kept in store reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men c. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise c. He who sacrificeth unto any god save unto the Lord only he shall be utterly destroyed Exod. 22. 20. Make no mention of the names of other gods neither let it be heard out of thy mouth c.
