may_v be_v as_o full_a of_o glory_n and_o beauty_n as_o they_o alsoe_o be_v and_o they_o joy_v in_o this_o to_o a_o strange_a proportion_n because_o he_o be_v honour_v and_o glorify_v in_o they_o who_o honour_n and_o glory_n they_o only_o seek_v and_o in_o regard_n that_o this_o be_v the_o cause_n why_o they_o love_v the_o saint_n from_o hence_o it_o grow_v that_o they_o joy_v more_o and_o other_o then_o in_o they_o and_o by_o this_o time_n you_o may_v perceive_v how_o fart_n this_o holy_a company_n be_v from_o self-love_n &_o from_o envy_n which_o spring_v from_o that_o root_n but_o you_o will_v tell_v i_o perhaps_o that_o it_o follow_v from_o hence_o that_o they_o
who_o be_v send_v about_o business_n will_v needs_o stay_v to_o pass_v his_o time_n and_o play_v with_o other_o boy_n or_o else_o loiter_v for_o see_v of_o some_o vain_a show_n and_o neither_o do_v to_o enjoy_v the_o society_n of_o his_o spouse_n in_o heaven_n there_o do_v he_o intend_v to_o do_v thou_o extraordinary_a honour_n and_o therefore_o procure_v not_o thou_o to_o be_v honour_v here_o for_o be_v take_v by_o the_o send_v of_o such_o a_o excellent_a feast_n as_o that_o it_o be_v utter_o against_o all_o reason_n that_o thou_o shall_v glut_v thyself_o with_o the_o baseness_n of_o any_o own_o and_o when_o thou_o be_v live_v without_o any_o hope_n of_o divine_a promise_n he_o grow_v to_o place_v thou_o in_o that_o way_n wherein_o thou_o may_v hope_v that_o he_o will_v help_v thou_o now_o without_o any_o weariness_n at_o all_o he_o take_v of_o such_o as_o he_o be_v draw_v to_o himself_o o_o sir_n how_o much_o reason_n have_v you_o to_o be_v grateful_a for_o the_o good_a which_o you_o have_v receive_v and_o careful_a at_o the_o least_o to_o keep_v it_o and_o fearful_a lest_o it_o shall_v slip_v out_o of_o your_o hand_n and_o i_o say_v careful_a at_o the_o least_o to_o keep_v it_o because_o he_o who_o can_v make_v conjecture_n that_o he_o have_v receive_v the_o gift_n of_o justification_n must_v employ_v himself_o like_o a_o diligent_a negociatour_n that_o with_o five_o talent_n he_o may_v gain_v other_o five_o improve_v that_o good_a which_o god_n begin_v in_o his_o soul_n and_o get_v every_o day_n a_o new_a part_n in_o heaven_n since_o the_o gate_n be_v open_a for_o our_o get_n more_o and_o more_o in_o every_o minute_n of_o our_o life_n it_o be_v most_o certain_a that_o if_o we_o shall_v tell_v a_o man_n that_o there_o be_v a_o very_a long_a way_n in_o the_o step_n whereof_o there_o be_v great_a felicity_n to_o be_v obtain_v yea_o and_o that_o for_o the_o make_n of_o one_o single_a pace_n they_o will_v give_v he_o the_o worth_n of_o a_o whole_a kingdom_n and_o that_o though_o a_o man_n shall_v go_v all_o his_o life_n time_n in_o that_o way_n they_o will_v never_o deprive_v he_o of_o his_o reward_n but_o that_o still_o it_o shall_v hold_v on_o after_o the_o rate_n of_o the_o first_o pace_n which_o he_o have_v make_v i_o do_v not_o think_v that_o in_o the_o whole_a world_n there_o be_v any_o one_o worldly_a man_n who_o in_o this_o case_n will_v not_o be_v so_o great_a a_o walker_n as_o that_o he_o will_v hardly_o be_v ever_o persuade_v to_o sit_v still_o now_o if_o covetousness_n of_o visible_a thing_n be_v able_a to_o work_v so_o great_a effect_n what_o will_v it_o be_v fit_a that_o the_o love_n of_o that_o which_o be_v invisible_a and_o eternal_a shall_v work_v in_o our_o soul_n but_o a_o vigilant_a care_n to_o be_v still_o walk_v on_o in_o the_o way_n of_o god_n with_o resolution_n as_o lively_o and_o more_o than_o they_o be_v which_o we_o entertain_v the_o first_o day_n when_o we_o enter_v into_o his_o service_n who_o be_v he_o that_o can_v be_v so_o absurd_o inconsiderate_a as_o not_o to_o hold_v himself_o a_o deep_a debtor_n to_o almighty_a god_n for_o the_o many_o gift_n which_o he_o have_v receive_v from_o he_o in_o recompense_n as_o i_o may_v say_v of_o so_o many_o sin_n of_o
self-love_n tell_v we_o that_o we_o desire_v it_o but_o for_o the_o service_n of_o almighty_a god_n and_o for_o my_o part_n i_o believe_v that_o there_o be_v no_o peace_n to_o be_v have_v in_o this_o world_n but_o by_o patience_n nor_o do_v i_o think_v that_o it_o be_v true_a patience_n when_o a_o man_n be_v content_a to_o bear_v with_o his_o neighbour_n if_o withal_o he_o be_v not_o content_a to_o bear_v with_o himself_o not_o to_o the_o end_n that_o he_o must_v fail_v to_o punish_v and_o to_o mend_v his_o fault_n but_o that_o his_o hart_n may_v not_o be_v deject_a and_o he_o unreasonable_o afflict_v and_o that_o whatsoever_o happen_v he_o may_v be_v able_a to_o keep_v himself_o content_a both_o within_o and_o without_o but_o so_o that_o yet_o withal_o as_o i_o be_v say_v he_o still_o do_v his_o diligence_n to_o mend_v himself_o which_o yet_o if_o he_o shall_v not_o whole_o do_v it_o be_v better_a that_o he_o be_v sorry_a for_o it_o and_o that_o instant_o he_o rise_v great_a love_n of_o god_n as_o to_o cause_v this_o grief_n which_o may_v stand_v for_o a_o satisfaction_n may_v think_v perhaps_o that_o they_o receive_v hard_a measure_n in_o be_v save_v by_o fire_n whilst_o other_o shall_v be_v save_v without_o it_o yet_o indeed_o they_o be_v much_o deceive_v in_o their_o account_n for_o the_o great_a love_n of_o god_n even_o here_o on_o earth_n when_o man_n see_v that_o god_n be_v offend_v do_v cause_n great_a grief_n then_o that_o to_o which_o you_o be_v subject_a and_o that_o truth_n be_v see_v by_o this_o then_o when_o one_o love_v god_n great_o he_o will_v be_v glad_a of_o the_o pain_n you_o suffer_v so_o that_o he_o may_v be_v free_a from_o that_o which_o he_o feel_v for_o the_o offence_n which_o be_v commit_v against_o god_n and_o at_o this_o we_o must_v not_o wonder_v since_o there_o be_v person_n who_o even_o to_o free_v you_o from_o the_o pain_n wherein_o you_o be_v will_v endure_v themselves_o and_o this_o also_o may_v serve_v for_o a_o proof_n that_o the_o love_n which_o one_o bear_v to_o another_o put_v he_o to_o more_o trouble_n than_o the_o pain_n itself_o will_v do_v which_o the_o other_o feel_v that_o if_o yourself_o love_v another_o very_o much_o you_o will_v not_o be_v ride_v of_o your_o own_o pain_n if_o it_o be_v upon_o condition_n that_o the_o other_o must_v endure_v it_o for_o you_o which_o prove_v as_o i_o be_v say_v that_o it_o will_v trouble_v you_o more_o in_o the_o personne_fw-fr of_o that_o other_o then_o in_o your_o own_o now_o if_o the_o love_n of_o a_o creature_n can_v reach_v so_o far_o how_o much_o more_o will_v the_o love_n of_o the_o creator_n be_v able_a to_o do_v it_o be_v infuse_v by_o the_o most_o holy_a spirit_n of_o our_o lord_n which_o far_o exceed_v all_o other_o force_n and_o thus_o it_o grow_v to_o be_v a_o most_o certain_a truth_n that_o either_o in_o this_o fashion_n or_o in_o that_o there_o be_v no_o mean_n to_o escape_v from_o suffer_v before_o we_o arrive_v to_o enjoy_v and_o tell_v he_o who_o will_v complain_v of_o this_o law_n ather_fw-la complain_v that_o he_o be_v a_o man_n &_o that_o he_o be_v not_o make_v a_o angel_n and_o let_v he_o complain_v against_o justice_n and_o reason_n which_o do_v absolute_o require_v that_o virtue_n must_v be_v obtain_v with_o labour_n and_o the_o reward_n must_v correspond_v with_o the_o virtue_n but_o who_o o_o lord_n who_o shall_v ever_o presume_v to_o complain_v of_o thou_o as_o if_o thou_o do_v treat_v they_o with_o rigour_n since_o instant_o thou_o stop_v their_o mouth_n with_o show_v that_o thou_o so_o love_v the_o world_n as_o to_o give_v thy_o only_o beget_v son_n to_o the_o end_n that_o in_o the_o strength_n of_o these_o affliction_n and_o sorrow_n and_o death_n which_o they_o charge_v upon_o he_o the_o world_n may_v escape_v the_o torment_n of_o hell_n and_o may_v triumph_v in_o heaven_n who_o i_o say_v o_fw-fr lord_n will_v presume_v to_o complain_v when_o he_o shall_v see_v thy_o best_a belove_a disposition_n wherein_o you_o find_v your_o soul_n and_o i_o say_v that_o so_o long_o as_o this_o dryness_n reach_v not_o to_o weaken_v your_o desire_n or_o virtue_n it_o be_v no_o such_o thing_n as_o aught_o to_o put_v you_o to_o much_o pain_n for_o that_o which_o be_v question_v thereby_o be_v but_o the_o loss_n of_o a_o certain_a sweetness_n in_o the_o thing_n of_o god_n though_o yet_o this_o be_v wont_a to_o be_v a_o spur_n to_o make_v such_o man_n quit_v themselves_o and_o to_o fly_v fast_o on_o towards_o our_o lord_n who_o know_v how_o to_o make_v right_a use_n thereof_o and_o because_o i_o desire_v all_o good_a to_o you_o whether_o it_o be_v in_o much_o or_o little_a i_o wish_v that_o you_o be_v endue_v with_o a_o love_n of_o god_n which_o be_v both_o strong_a and_o wise_a and_o sweet_a also_o since_o a_o love_n with_o all_o these_o quality_n be_v due_a to_o he_o to_o who_o we_o owe_v our_o love_n but_o yet_o if_o he_o impart_v that_o love_n alone_o which_o be_v strong_a and_o wise_a it_o will_v be_v because_o he_o intend_v to_o do_v we_o other_o secret_a favour_n by_o mean_n which_o be_v unknowen_a to_o we_o and_o to_o untie_v we_o from_o ourselves_o and_o to_o exercise_v our_o virtue_n whereof_o there_o will_v be_v great_a need_n for_o a_o man_n who_o treat_v with_o he_o who_o be_v infinite_o wise_a and_o do_v extreme_o like_a that_o no_o man_n shall_v be_v knowledge_n upon_o the_o price_n of_o many_o error_n which_o we_o shall_v have_v commit_v for_o we_o inherit_v from_o our_o first_o parent_n a_o certain_a fly_n and_o secret_a desire_n of_o a_o kind_n of_o divinity_n 3._o cen._n 3._o which_o can_v be_v seek_v without_o theft_n this_o make_v we_o imitate_v our_o first_o father_n therein_o and_o to_o deny_v that_o thing_n may_v be_v do_v how_o and_o when_o we_o listen_v with_o certain_a other_o deep_a and_o most_o secret_a root_n of_o pride_n which_o be_v never_o to_o be_v discover_v without_o light_n from_o heaven_n and_o this_o can_v be_v obtain_v without_o much_o prayer_n as_o for_o the_o particular_a of_o those_o soul_n which_o you_o desire_v to_o reduce_v i_o tell_v you_o as_o i_o do_v before_o that_o you_o must_v cordial_o recommend_v the_o business_n to_o our_o lord_n and_o hope_v well_o that_o you_o shall_v have_v good_a success_n and_o be_v you_o not_o trouble_v or_o afflict_v since_o you_o know_v that_o you_o have_v a_o father_n in_o heaven_n who_o call_v you_o towards_o he_o and_o he_o will_v be_v your_o guide_n in_o the_o way_n spend_v your_o time_n at_o the_o present_a the_o best_a you_o can_v and_o as_o for_o the_o future_a do_v not_o vex_v yourself_o but_o make_v account_n that_o nothing_o but_o your_o own_o negligence_n cann_v take_v god_n from_o you_o fight_v therefore_o against_o this_o negligence_n &_o if_o you_o overcome_v it_o you_o will_v find_v by_o experience_n that_o the_o exchange_n or_o burse_n be_v a_o very_a celâ—_n to_o you_o and_o that_o business_n be_v but_o as_o a_o river_n which_o his_o duty_n and_o sometime_o not_o a_o clear_a sign_n it_o be_v of_o a_o soul_n in_o subjection_n to_o selfewill_n to_o do_v a_o thing_n when_o the_o humour_n serve_v and_o afterward_o upon_o mere_a humour_n to_o let_v it_o alone_o and_o forasmuch_o as_o such_o man_n want_v the_o abnegation_n of_o themselves_o they_o be_v in_o fault_n both_o when_o they_o cease_v from_o do_v any_o thing_n and_o so_o be_v they_o alsoe_o when_o they_o do_v it_o because_o they_o live_v butt_n in_o themselves_o and_o the_o punishment_n which_o our_o lord_n inflicte_v upon_o these_o man_n be_v that_o he_o be_v not_o liberal_a of_o himself_o to_o they_o when_o they_o desire_v it_o because_o they_o be_v not_o liberal_a of_o themselves_o to_o he_o when_o he_o require_v it_o we_o must_v therefore_o be_v sure_a to_o ask_v pardon_n for_o the_o little_a constancy_n which_o we_o have_v use_v in_o the_o service_n of_o our_o lord_n and_o to_o reform_v ourselves_o with_o a_o entire_a resignation_n into_o his_o hand_n concern_v the_o success_n of_o our_o endeavour_n whether_o they_o be_v more_o or_o less_o take_v courage_n once_o to_o loose_v yourself_o for_o the_o love_n of_o our_o lord_n obe_v that_o which_o he_o command_v and_o never_o look_v upon_o what_o be_v to_o follow_v upon_o it_o for_o whether_o it_o be_v dryness_n or_o devotion_n it_o can_v fail_v to_o be_v a_o favour_n since_o it_o be_v sure_a to_o be_v the_o pleasure_n of_o our_o lord_n and_o by_o how_o much_o the_o more_o you_o shall_v be_v able_a to_o live_v towards_o the_o
they_o he_o find_v not_o what_o he_o seek_v he_o may_v go_v at_o last_o with_o a_o entire_a hart_n to_o he_o who_o alone_o be_v able_a to_o impart_v more_o to_o the_o soul_n than_o it_o be_v able_a to_o receive_v your_o ladyship_n must_v not_o therefore_o be_v carry_v away_o by_o that_o great_a error_n which_o yet_o be_v embrace_v by_o many_o great_a one_o of_o this_o world_n who_o be_v mighty_o a_o sinner_n and_o as_o for_o we_o let_v we_o learn_v hereafter_o to_o give_v all_o our_o desire_n to_o god_n and_o as_o a_o stone_n fall_v downward_o and_o as_o fire_n fly_v upward_o and_o as_o every_o thing_n in_o sine_fw-la make_v towards_o his_o proper_a place_n so_o let_v our_o heart_n fly_v at_o full_a speed_n towards_o the_o centre_n thereof_o which_o be_v god_n who_o will_v not_o be_v amaze_v to_o behold_v a_o great_a rocky_a mountain_n hang_v loose_a in_o the_o air_n without_o fall_v down_o to_o his_o proper_a place_n and_o who_o will_v not_o wonder_v to_o see_v a_o hart_n which_o be_v create_v to_o repose_v and_o rest_n in_o god_n detain_v itself_o in_o the_o air_n and_o less_o than_o air_n therefore_o whether_o it_o be_v that_o we_o can_v take_v true_a rest_n in_o any_o other_o then_o in_o god_n or_o because_o this_o lord_n of_o we_o deserve_v of_o himself_o all_o our_o love_n since_o he_o be_v the_o loadestone_n to_o which_o all_o spirit_n look_v let_v we_o not_o way_n of_o spirit_n as_o before_o now_o that_o you_o be_v subject_a to_o a_o unlike_a disposition_n of_o body_n and_o many_o have_v ignorant_o afflict_v themselves_o for_o not_o have_v be_v able_a to_o weigh_v what_o their_o strength_n and_o state_n will_v permit_v it_o be_v clear_a that_o with_o this_o condition_n of_o body_n wherein_o you_o be_v you_o must_v not_o think_v of_o keep_v the_o same_o method_n which_o you_o hold_v before_o nor_o do_v our_o lord_n ask_v any_o such_o thing_n at_o your_o hand_n since_o his_o will_n be_v very_o wise_a and_o temper_v alsoe_o with_o great_a mercy_n and_o demand_v nothing_o of_o we_o but_o that_o for_o which_o he_o give_v we_o mean_n and_o not_o only_o he_o will_v not_o reap_v where_o he_o do_v not_o sow_v but_o even_o when_o he_o sow_n forbid_a fruit_n that_o she_o want_v not_o a_o thousand_o inventiòs_fw-la to_o make_v reason_n believe_v that_o she_o demand_n not_o any_o thing_n of_o superfluity_n but_o of_o mere_a necessity_n and_o she_o be_v in_o a_o mighty_a chafe_n if_o they_o believe_v she_o not_o madam_n there_o be_v need_v here_o of_o two_o thing_n the_o one_o that_o when_o we_o clere_o see_v that_o we_o be_v able_a no_o love_n without_o grief_n i_o hope_v in_o god_n that_o as_o here_o he_o give_v you_o grief_n and_o trouble_v so_o he_o have_v provide_v a_o place_n of_o rest_n and_o joy_n for_o you_o in_o the_o other_o world_n though_o indeed_o the_o very_a suffering_n for_o such_o a_o lord_n be_v reward_n enough_o and_o so_o that_o as_o there_o be_v nothing_o so_o much_o to_o be_v desire_v in_o the_o other_o world_n as_o to_o enjoy_v that_o kingdom_n with_o christ_n our_o lord_n so_o neither_o be_v there_o any_o thing_n in_o this_o which_o may_v be_v compare_v to_o the_o excellency_n of_o suffer_v with_o he_o and_o for_o he_o suffer_v therefore_o with_o a_o good_a will_n since_o you_o be_v to_o be_v crown_v for_o the_o same_o for_o the_o affliction_n which_o you_o endure_v come_v to_o you_o but_o as_o a_o fit_a mean_n whereby_o you_o may_v obtain_v that_o crown_n a_o letter_n of_o the_o author_n to_o a_o cavallero_n his_o friend_n he_o show_v how_o that_o person_n who_o feel_v himself_o to_o be_v in_o decay_n have_v much_o cause_n to_o be_v in_o pain_n and_o to_o procure_v remedy_n by_o all_o the_o mean_n he_o may_v for_o if_o a_o man_n be_v apt_a to_o feel_v the_o diminution_n which_o he_o may_v suffer_v in_o his_o temporal_a good_n how_o much_o more_o ought_v we_o to_o apprehend_v the_o decay_n of_o the_o good_n of_o our_o soul_n which_o be_v good_n indeed_o job_n say_v with_o a_o deep_a sigh_n 29_o job._n 29_o that_o he_o wish_v to_o be_v as_o he_o have_v be_v in_o the_o time_n of_o his_o youth_n when_o our_o lord_n protect_v he_o and_o when_o he_o make_v his_o candle_n shine_v over_o his_o head_n these_o and_o other_o thing_n which_o he_o affirm_v himself_o to_o have_v possess_v before_o and_o be_v want_v to_o he_o then_o at_o the_o present_a must_v rather_o be_v think_v to_o have_v be_v certain_a choice_n delightful_a and_o devout_a communication_n which_o former_o he_o have_v receive_v from_o god_n and_o then_o be_v miss_v then_o that_o he_o be_v then_o in_o present_a want_n of_o his_o former_a virtue_n for_o since_o he_o give_v so_o good_a account_n of_o himself_o in_o that_o time_n of_o trial_n which_o be_v true_a time_n wherein_o indeed_o it_o may_v be_v see_v what_o strength_n one_o have_v he_o be_v find_v to_o have_v have_v no_o cause_n to_o complain_v as_o if_o our_o lord_n do_v not_o then_o protect_v he_o or_o carry_v
