If we pray for Others Sinnes shall be pardoned and judgements removed w â— Is any siâ—ke among yoâ— let him call for the Elders of the Church and let them pray over him anointing him with oile in the Name of the Lord. And the prayer of Faith shal save the sick and the Lord shal raise him up and iâ— hee have committed sins they shal be forgivâ—n him Confesse your faults one to another and pray one for another that yee may be healed the effectuall fervent prayer of a righteous man avayleth much Iam. 5.14 15 16. 21. If we pray for the peace of Zion We shall prosper v x Pray for the peace of Jerusalem they shall prosper that love thee Psalme 122.6 22. If for the peace of the place where we live Therein we shall have peace though the people be our Enemies y y And seeke the peace of the City whether I have caused you to be carried away captives and pray unto the Lord for it for in the peace thereof shal yee have peace Ier. 29.7 23. If Gods people pray together Our Heavenly Father will heare and helpe us z z If two of you shal agree on Earth as touching any thing that they shal aske it shal be done for them of my Father my Father which is in Heaven Matth. 18.19 Further many most comfortable places abundantly and infallibly declaring in what most gracious manner the Lord will heare our Prayers 7. He heareth our inward groanes in our extreamest Miseries Even when we cannot expresse our selves a. 53 Our mourning b Sighs c Desires d Tears c Complaining f Our very voye g And naming of Christ h He will heare wiâ—â— cut despising our prayers i Or hitting us is the Teeth with our fore-past sinnes or present frailties k He will prepare our hearts too and help us to draw our petitions l He accepts our prayers m He takes delight in them and in hearing of them n He looks down of purpose to heare our groanes o To deliver us when we are past hope p His Ears are open there is not the least impediment in his hearing q It is his very nature to be a GOD that heareth prayers It is not contrary to his disposition r He thinks thoughts of place to give an end to our troubles according to our expectations s He will be plenteous in mercy to all that call upon him t And will give us liberally u He will remarkeably help us and shew us sometimes wonderous things that we know not w He will refresh us also with much joy and comfort of heart he will be many times as the dew to our hearts x He will heare every one that asketh of him aright y Yea in whatsoever we aske wee may have what we will according to his will z When we cannot pray as we ought his Spirit shall help our infirmities a. 54 God will Crowne our prayers with this honour to be signâ—s of 〈◊〉 Sanctification b And Salvation c 〈◊〉 will heare us speedily d In the very 〈◊〉 in due time when we are in trouble yea so as he will in our affliction in especiall manner let us know hee is our God and will deliver uâ— e He is ready to be found f He will heare at the very first even while we are speaking to him g And answer us before we can expresse our selves h Yea the Lord heareth us when we thinke he hath forsaken us i all our prayers are heard and granted only through Christ Jesus k a. 53. Generall THat the Lord will heare us s We shall be settled among his people t And glorify our Grd. u s But if any man be a worshipper of God and doe his wil him hee heareth Job 9.31 t If they will diligently learne the wayes of my people to sweare by my Name The Lord liveth and they taught my people to sweare by Baal then shall they be built in the midst of my people Jer. 12.16 u And thou shalt sweare The Lord liveth in truth in righteousnesse and in judgement and the Nations shall blesse themselves in him and in him shal they glory Jer. 4.2 2. If we have fallen into grievous sinnes anâ— afflictions the LORD will forgive our sinnes remove his Judgements and heare our Prayers q q If I shut up Heaven that there be no raine or if I command the Locuâ—s to devour the Land or if I send pestilence among my people If my people which are called by my Name shal humble themselves and pray and seeke my Face and turne from their wicked wayes then wil I heare from Heaven and wil forgive their sinne and wil heale their Land Now mine eyes shall bee open and mine ears attent unto the Prayer that is made in this place 2 Chron. 7.13.14 15. and Chap. 6. from Verse 21. To the end 2. Be our troubles never so many the Lord will heare and deliver us out of them all r r The righteous cry and the Lord heareth and delivereth them out of all their trouble Psal 34 17. 3. If we be in any danger whatsoever we shall be heard helped and delivered s s In an acceptable time have I heard thee and in a day of salvation have I helped thee and I wil preserve thee and give thee for a Covenant of the people to establish the Earth to cause to inherit the desolate heritage Isay 49.8 4 If in danger of our Enemies Or for Souldiers in or against any perillous imployment t We shall be secured from harme u Our Enemies shall turne backe w God will fight against and afflict them x t I wil call upon the Lord who is worthy to be praised So shal I be saved from mine enemies Ps 18.3 v Hee that delivered my Soule in peace from the Battell that was against mee for there were many with mee GOD shall heare and afflict them even hee that abideth of old Psalme 55.18 19. w When I cry unto thee then shal mine Eâ—emies turne back Ps 56.9 x Vide suprà u Ps 55.18.19 5 If we be Prisoners The LORD will heare and notâ—d spise us or oâ—â— Prayers y He will be found of and inlarge us z â— For the Lord heareth the poore and depiseth no his prisoners Ps 69.33 z And yee shal seeke me and finde mee when yee shall search for mee with all your heart And I wil be found of you saith the Lord and wil turne away your captivity and I wil gather you from al the Nations and from all the places whither I have driven you saith the Lord and I wil bring you againe into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive Ieremy 29.13.14 6. If we be desolate and forsaken of friends The Lord will turne unto and not despise our Prayers a. 52 a. 52 Hee wil regard the prayer of the destitute and not despise their Prayer Psal 102.17 7. If we be wronged by others The Lord will deliver us b b For they shal cry unto the Lord because of oppressours and hee shal send them a Saviour and a great one and he shal deliver them Isay 19.20 8. If the wronged Fatherlesse Widow or Stranger doe pray The Lord wil heare their cry c c Thou shalt neither vex a stranger nor oppresse him for yee were strangers in the land of Egypt Yee shal not afflict any widow or fatherlesse child If thou afflict them in any wise and they cry at al unto me I wil surely heare their cry Ex. 22.21.22 23. 9. If we be Hungry or Thirsty The Lord will relieve us d Though he shâ—â— work wonders for us e d Hungry and Thirsty their Soule fainted in them Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble and hee delivered them out of their distresses Psalm 107.5 6. e When the poore and needy seeke wateâ— and there is none and their tongue faileth for Thirst I the Lord wil heaâ— them I the God of Israel wil not for sake them I wil open Rivers in hiâ— places and fountaines in the midst the Vallies I wil make the wildernesse a poole of water and the dryland spriâ—â— of water Isay 41.17 18. 10. If we be in Temptation Wâ—e shall finde mercy grace and helpe iâ— need f f For we have not an high Priest that cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities but was in al points tempted as we are yet without sinne Leâ— us therfore come boldly unto the throne of grace that we may obtaine mercy and finde grace for helpe in time of neede Heb. 4.15.16 11.
