seek_v far_o for_o a_o mediator_n because_o christ_n reach_v forth_o his_o hand_n unto_o we_o before_o we_o inquire_v after_o he_o second_o that_o we_o need_v not_o be_v terrify_v in_o regard_n of_o his_o majesty_n for_o he_o be_v our_o brother_n three_o that_o we_o have_v no_o occasion_n to_o fear_v that_o he_o shall_v not_o be_v touch_v with_o any_o compassion_n to_o do_v we_o good_a as_o if_o himself_o have_v never_o taste_v of_o misery_n for_o he_o have_v bear_v our_o infirmity_n to_o the_o end_n he_o may_v be_v the_o better_o incline_v to_o succour_v us._n the_o whole_a speech_n then_o turn_n it_o thus_o of_o the_o number_n of_o those_o which_o offer_v gift_n according_a to_o the_o law_n etc._n etc._n but_o the_o word_n of_o the_o apostle_n have_v another_o signification_n therefore_o i_o have_v rather_o resolve_v it_o thus_o whilst_o there_o be_v or_o see_v there_o be_v priest_n for_o his_o meaning_n be_v to_o prove_v one_o of_o the_o two_o either_o that_o christ_n be_v not_o a_o priest_n if_o so_o be_v the_o priesthood_n of_o the_o law_n remain_v because_o it_o be_v without_o sacrifice_n or_o rather_o that_o the_o sacrifice_n of_o the_o law_n do_v take_v a_o heavenly_a thing_n and_o the_o construction_n of_o the_o greek_a text_n do_v easy_o bear_v this_o sense_n to_o be_v short_a he_o teach_v that_o the_o true_a service_n of_o god_n consist_v not_o in_o the_o legal_a ceremony_n and_o therefore_o when_o as_o the_o leviticall_a priest_n execute_v their_o office_n they_o have_v only_o a_o shadow_n and_o a_o inferior_a portraiture_n which_o be_v far_o beneath_o the_o true_a and_o natural_a pattern_n for_o indeed_o the_o greek_a word_n which_o we_o translate_v pattern_n or_o sampler_n signify_v so_o much_o so_o that_o he_o prevent_v a_o objection_n which_o may_v be_v make_v to_o the_o contrary_n for_o he_o show_v that_o the_o service_n of_o god_n after_o the_o custom_n of_o the_o father_n be_v not_o unprofitable_a because_o it_o have_v a_o high_a signification_n to_o wit_n heavenly_a as_o it_o be_v answer_v to_o moses_n when_o he_o be_v to_o finish_v the_o tabernacle_n this_o place_n be_v in_o exod._n 20.40_o and_o the_o apostle_n allege_v it_o to_o prove_v that_o the_o service_n of_o the_o law_n be_v but_o as_o a_o picture_n to_o shadow_v forth_o that_o which_o be_v spiritual_a in_o christ_n god_n command_v that_o all_o the_o part_n of_o the_o tabernacle_n shall_v be_v answerable_a to_o the_o

cause_n that_o make_v abraham_n thus_o constant_o to_o persevere_v must_v of_o necessity_n deserve_v to_o carry_v away_o the_o prize_n but_o hereof_o arise_v no_o small_a difficulty_n objection_n how_o shall_v abraham_n faith_n be_v thus_o high_o commend_v see_v he_o forsake_v the_o promise_n for_o as_o it_o be_v true_a that_o obedience_n spring_v from_o faith_n so_o also_o be_v it_o as_o true_a that_o faith_n spring_v out_o of_o the_o promise_n abraham_n then_o be_v destitute_a of_o the_o promise_n his_o faith_n also_o must_v needs_o vanish_v but_o the_o death_n of_o isaak_n as_o we_o
