he_o and_o accept_v of_o the_o person_n of_o the_o man_n but_o god_n first_o will_v accept_v of_o the_o person_n before_o the_o action_n as_o the_o lord_n accept_v of_o abeâ—_n first_o and_o then_o he_o accept_v his_o offering_n so_o you_o must_v look_v to_o that_o to_o have_v your_o person_n first_o accept_v of_o god_n before_o any_o duty_n can_v be_v accept_v you_o think_v though_o you_o be_v wicked_a and_o sinful_a yet_o if_o you_o amend_v your_o life_n god_n will_v accept_v of_o you_o you_o go_v that_o way_n to_o work_v but_o certain_o that_o be_v the_o wrong_a way_n you_o must_v first_o look_v after_o mean_n of_o acceptation_n of_o your_o person_n which_o be_v through_o the_o righteousness_n of_o jesus_n christ_n and_o through_o the_o sanctification_n of_o his_o spirit_n whereby_o you_o come_v to_o have_v his_o image_n and_o life_n and_o so_o be_v accept_v and_o then_o all_o that_o proceed_v from_o you_o come_v to_o be_v accept_v there_o be_v not_o any_o action_n which_o come_v and_o brave_a but_o if_o there_o be_v a_o unclean_a heart_n the_o duty_n will_v be_v unclean_a as_o it_o be_v with_o a_o man_n that_o have_v the_o plague_n suppose_v he_o make_v a_o brave_a oration_n yet_o his_o breath_n be_v infectious_a so_o it_o be_v in_o our_o service_n with_o god_n if_o so_o be_v that_o our_o heart_n within_o we_o have_v the_o plague_n then_o certain_o the_o breath_n that_o come_v from_o we_o all_o our_o duty_n will_v be_v unclean_a and_o therefore_o that_o be_v the_o first_o thing_n that_o we_o be_v to_o look_v for_o in_o the_o sanctify_a god_n name_v in_o holy_a duty_n look_v to_o have_v thy_o heart_n sanctify_v and_o consider_v from_o what_o principle_n it_o come_v it_o be_v for_o want_n of_o this_o that_o thousand_o of_o our_o duty_n be_v cast_v aside_o and_o do_v with_o none_o but_o god_n through_o jesus_n christ_n in_o the_o tender_v up_o of_o our_o worship_n to_o he_o we_o may_v make_v use_n of_o a_o institution_n that_o god_n have_v appoint_v but_o we_o do_v not_o tender_v up_o our_o worship_n to_o god_n through_o that_o creature_n but_o in_o the_o use_n of_o that_o creature_n we_o do_v come_v to_o god_n and_o our_o soul_n be_v to_o tender_v ourselves_o before_o he_o in_o those_o thing_n that_o he_o do_v use_v to_o let_v out_o himself_o though_o in_o a_o more_o special_a and_o glorious_a manner_n to_o the_o soul_n of_o his_o people_n what_o be_v the_o reason_n why_o heaven_n be_v say_v to_o be_v the_o presence_n of_o god_n and_o why_o those_o that_o be_v in_o heaven_n be_v say_v to_o live_v with_o god_n there_o they_o behold_v the_o face_n of_o god_n and_o be_v before_o he_o in_o a_o special_a manner_n therefore_o when_o christ_n teach_v we_o to_o pray_v he_o teach_v we_o to_o look_v up_o to_o heaven_n and_o to_o say_v our_o father_n which_o â—rt_n in_o heaven_n etc._n etc._n now_o certain_o the_o essential_a presence_n of_o god_n be_v on_o earth_n as_o true_o and_o real_o as_o in_o heaven_n and_o god_n be_v not_o so_o as_o to_o have_v one_o part_n in_o one_o place_n and_o another_o in_o another_o but_o all_o god_n be_v in_o every_o place_n but_o the_o reason_n why_o god_n be_v say_v to_o be_v in_o heaven_n it_o be_v because_o the_o lord_n make_v know_v himself_o there_o in_o a_o more_o glorious_a manner_n then_o in_o any_o other_o place_n and_o therefore_o heaven_n be_v the_o presence_n of_o god_n in_o a_o more_o special_a way_n now_o than_o if_o the_o communication_n of_o god_n unto_o a_o creature_n be_v enough_o to_o make_v the_o presence_n of_o god_n more_o special_a if_o this_o be_v enough_o to_o make_v a_o creature_n to_o live_v with_o god_n and_o to_o be_v before_o his_o face_n because_o they_o be_v there_o where_o god_n do_v most_o communicate_v himself_o then_o certain_o when_o we_o come_v to_o worship_n god_n we_o come_v to_o be_v near_o god_n and_o be_v with_o god_n because_o the_o duty_n of_o his_o worship_n be_v those_o mean_n that_o the_o lord_n have_v appoint_v for_o the_o let_v out_o of_o himself_o in_o the_o glory_n of_o his_o goodness_n and_o mercy_n to_o his_o people_n you_o may_v expect_v other_o manner_n of_o communication_n of_o god_n goodness_n through_o the_o duty_n of_o his_o worship_n then_o in_o any_o other_o way_n and_o that_o be_v the_o second_o respect_n wherein_o you_o may_v be_v say_v to_o draw_v nigh_o to_o god_n in_o holy_a duty_n three_o you_o though_o i_o walk_v in_o the_o imagination_n of_o my_o heart_n etc._n etc._n take_v heed_n there_o be_v not_o among_o you_o a_o root_n that_o bear_v gall_n and_o wormwood_n this_o be_v a_o bitter_a heart_n puff_v up_o even_o through_o the_o assistance_n of_o the_o grace_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n in_o holy_a duty_n 5_o last_o thou_o must_v come_v with_o a_o humble_a resignation_n of_o ten_o hundred_o thousand_o witness_n stand_v by_o you_o and_o look_v upon_o you_o for_o it_o be_v the_o lord_n that_o stand_v by_o you_o and_o see_v your_o behaviour_n see_v what_o you_o do_v in_o your_o worship_v of_o he_o take_v heed_n therefore_o that_o there_o be_v nothing_o do_v by_o you_o that_o be_v unbeseeming_a the_o presence_n of_o such_o a_o god_n as_o the_o lord_n be_v suppose_v that_o some_o of_o you_o be_v pray_v and_o there_o be_v some_o godly_a able_a minister_n stand_v near_o you_o it_o will_v be_v some_o mean_n to_o stir_v up_o your_o heart_n to_o mind_n what_o you_o do_v but_o now_o the_o lord_n he_o be_v not_o in_o the_o next_o room_n only_o but_o in_o the_o same_o room_n and_o stand_v by_o you_o let_v there_o be_v nothing_o do_v therefore_o unbeseeming_a the_o help_n my_o condition_n can_v be_v so_o desperate_a but_o this_o infinite_a almighty_a god_n be_v able_a to_o help_v i_o let_v i_o make_v he_o the_o object_n of_o my_o faith_n as_o he_o be_v so_o infinite_o almighty_a what_o a_o full_a object_n of_o faith_n be_v this_o god_n that_o have_v all_o power_n in_o he_o let_v i_o therefore_o come_v to_o he_o as_o a_o strong_a tower_n run_v to_o the_o name_n of_o god_n as_o a_o strong_a tower_n that_o can_v help_v in_o all_o straits_n whatsoever_o there_o will_v be_v much_o draw_v forth_o of_o our_o faith_n if_o we_o can_v present_v that_o lord_n before_o we_o as_o a_o infinite_a almighty_a god_n when_o we_o see_v outward_a help_n and_o mean_n near_o at_o hand_n than_o we_o can_v believe_v that_o we_o may_v have_v some_o succour_n from_o he_o but_o when_o all_o outward_a help_n and_o mean_n fail_v then_o we_o be_v discourage_v we_o do_v not_o sanctify_v god_n name_n but_o we_o rather_o take_v this_o name_n of_o god_n in_o vain_a when_o as_o our_o heart_n be_v discourage_v with_o any_o difficulty_n now_o the_o lord_n expect_v that_o all_o his_o child_n that_o come_v to_o worship_v he_o shall_v worship_v he_o as_o the_o almighty_a god_n and_o so_o have_v their_o heart_n work_v towards_o he_o there_o will_v be_v mighty_a work_n of_o spirit_n towards_o god_n if_o we_o see_v he_o by_o the_o eye_n of_o faith_n as_o well_o as_o reason_n 7_o look_v upon_o god_n as_o a_o omniscient_a god_n as_o a_o god_n infinite_o understand_v all_o thing_n now_o what_o do_v this_o call_n for_o first_o if_o god_n be_v a_o god_n of_o to_o such_o effect_n as_o i_o expect_v that_o be_v to_o have_v my_o heart_n speak_v too_o and_o quicken_v and_o to_o have_v my_o eye_n open_v but_o o_o lord_n open_a my_o eye_n and_o open_a my_o heart_n lord_n my_o heart_n natural_o be_v lock_v up_o against_o thy_o word_n there_o be_v such_o ward_n in_o my_o heart_n that_o except_o thou_o aâ—t_v please_v to_o put_v in_o a_o key_n that_o may_v fit_v my_o heart_n it_o will_v never_o open_v man_n he_o be_v not_o able_a to_o know_v my_o heart_n and_o therefore_o he_o can_v fit_v a_o key_n to_o answer_v every_o ward_n to_o resolve_v every_o that_o if_o god_n shall_v speak_v to_o they_o as_o he_o speak_v unto_o solomon_n and_o bid_v he_o ask_v what_o he_o shall_v give_v he_o i_o very_o believe_v there_o be_v many_o in_o this_o that_o have_v so_o much_o hinder_v their_o communion_n with_o god_n in_o prayer_n they_o will_v despise_v and_o scorn_v the_o world_n in_o comparison_n of_o such_o a_o mercy_n as_o this_o be_v howsoever_o carnal_a heart_n they_o think_v little_a of_o it_o but_o those_o that_o be_v the_o servant_n of_o god_n they_o find_v it_o to_o be_v very_o grievous_a to_o they_o but_o be_v the_o time_n confess_v even_o those_o that_o be_v godly_a may_v sometime_o have_v some_o blasphemous_a thought_n cast_v into_o they_o for_o the_o devil_n be_v never_o more_o busy_a then_o at_o the_o time_n of_o prayer_n but_o they_o rather_o come_v from_o the_o devil_n then_o from_o the_o stream_n and_o corruption_n of_o their_o own_o heart_n which_o may_v be_v we_o may_v make_v out_o more_o clear_o in_o prayer_n they_o have_v be_v to_o god_n as_o if_o you_o have_v speak_v they_o in_o word_n thought_n to_o god_n be_v all_o one_o with_o he_o as_o word_n be_v to_o man_n for_o god_n be_v a_o spirit_n and_o the_o spirit_n do_v converse_v with_o god_n in_o thought_n as_o well_o as_o man_n do_v converse_v with_o man_n in_o word_n and_o what_o a_o woeful_a guiltiness_n will_v have_v be_v upon_o you_o have_v you_o speak_v such_o vile_a and_o wicked_a thing_n to_o man_n as_o some_o time_n have_v be_v in_o your_o mind_n even_o when_o you_o have_v be_v pray_v to_o god_n how_o will_v the_o company_n have_v even_o spit_v in_o your_o face_n and_o kick_v you_o from_o they_o none_o that_o have_v any_o face_n of_o godliness_n will_v have_v endure_v you_o in_o their_o company_n and_o yet_o
