the_o lord_n as_o a_o prevention_n from_o run_v after_o other_o god_n and_o to_o remove_v jealousy_n or_o hard_a thought_n out_o of_o the_o mind_n one_o of_o another_o as_o about_o the_o case_n mention_v exod._n 22._o 10_o 11._o upon_o the_o word_n neither_o by_o any_o other_o oath_n j._n s._n add_v swear_v not_o at_o all_o by_o heaven_n earth_n or_o any_o other_o of_o those_o form_n of_o and_o fraud_n in_o private_a contract_n then_o in_o public_a testimony_n or_o why_o christ_n general_a word_n for_o whatsoever_o be_v more_o than_o these_o come_v of_o evil_a or_o of_o the_o evil_a one_o shall_v extend_v only_o to_o the_o private_a and_o not_o to_o the_o public_a appear_v not_o to_o we_o however_o they_o who_o the_o evil_a one_o lead_v to_o lie_v for_o any_o self-interest_n what_o credit_n be_v to_o be_v give_v to_o their_o swear_v and_o be_v it_o not_o evident_a how_o little_a the_o custom_n thereof_o sweye_v with_o their_o conscience_n by_o the_o injury_n and_o injustice_n many_o suffer_v and_o the_o long_a continuance_n of_o contest_v law-suit_n and_o quarrel_n and_o a_o man_n will_v think_v that_o there_o shall_v be_v less_o need_n of_o swear_v in_o the_o magistrate_n presence_n then_o in_o private_a covenant_n and_o contract_n because_o it_o be_v the_o magistrate_n wisdom_n to_o search_v and_o find_v out_o the_o matter_n and_o in_o his_o power_n to_o punish_v the_o false_a witness_n and_o be_v a_o terror_n to_o he_o but_o in_o private_a only_o the_o fear_n and_o terror_n of_o god_n in_o man_n conscience_n can_v restrain_v they_o from_o evil_a 31._o however_o what_o be_v more_o evident_a than_o that_o private_a oath_n and_o covenant_n thereby_o between_o man_n and_o man_n be_v in_o use_n both_o before_o and_o under_o the_o law_n 26._o so_o promissory_a or_o assertory_n or_o to_o any_o but_o common-discourse-oath_n make_v christ_n a_o transgressor_n of_o the_o law_n i_o tremble_v at_o the_o thought_n of_o this_o consequence_n which_o
