think_v you_o doubt_n of_o god_n power_n be_v we_o in_o misery_n let_v we_o all_o fast_a and_o entreat_v god_n for_o mercy_n and_o he_o will_v not_o final_o forsake_v we_o we_o shall_v consecrate_v ourselves_o to_o he_o that_o make_v we_o so_o shall_v we_o be_v deliver_v at_o the_o last_o from_o each_o malady_n hell_n death_n and_o danger_n our_o love_a god_n and_o heavenly_a father_n will_v not_o afflict_v we_o but_o to_o the_o enforce_n of_o we_o to_o the_o better_a keep_n of_o his_o commandment_n whereunto_o we_o can_v not_o be_v bring_v by_o god_n great_a benefit_n ahashuerus_n and_o haman_n sit_v merry_a and_o drink_v wine_n when_o esther_n be_v fast_v and_o mordecai_n mourning_n yet_o go_v merry_a haman_n to_o the_o halter_n and_o mordecai_n to_o preferment_n i_o entreat_v you_o disputation_n urge_v to_o despair_v satan_n will_v tell_v thou_o that_o god_n be_v a_o severe_a judge_n and_o thy_o mortal_a enemy_n and_o therefore_o it_o be_v but_o in_o vain_a to_o sue_v to_o he_o for_o succour_n such_o comforter_n as_o these_o be_v not_o come_v to_o comfort_v you_o but_o torment_v you_o and_o to_o add_v one_o affliction_n to_o another_o be_v you_o therefore_o constant_a to_o resist_v the_o devil_n and_o all_o his_o temptation_n and_o so_o at_o length_n you_o shall_v be_v sure_a of_o good_a success_n i_o know_v my_o brethren_n that_o you_o rest_v not_o like_o a_o block_n insensible_a but_o that_o in_o your_o patience_n you_o feel_v affliction_n and_o grief_n of_o mind_n yet_o keep_v you_o a_o mean_v herein_o and_o rebel_v not_o against_o god_n as_o the_o wicked_a most_o wonderful_a afflict_v with_o sore_n sorrow_n and_o disease_n as_o we_o rest_v content_v with_o prosperity_n so_o shall_v we_o be_v with_o adversity_n acknowledge_v his_o mercy_n in_o the_o former_a and_o his_o justice_n in_o the_o latter_a still_o bridle_v our_o impatiency_n or_o murmur_v against_o god_n judge_n none_o the_o more_o sinful_a because_o of_o their_o sorrow_n neither_o ought_v we_o to_o be_v weary_a of_o our_o life_n because_o we_o be_v subject_a to_o infirmity_n but_o because_o we_o be_v give_v to_o sin_n and_o rebellion_n against_o god_n therefore_o shall_v we_o fear_v and_o tremble_v and_o the_o rather_o because_o murmur_v against_o god_n in_o affliction_n do_v but_o increase_v the_o pain_n and_o utter_v man_n folly_n job_n 5.17_o behold_v bless_a be_v the_o otherwise_o to_o their_o advantage_n my_o god_n may_v damn_v i_o to_o hell_n whilst_o he_o whip_v i_o for_o heaven_n the_o affliction_n i_o sustain_v come_v for_o my_o own_o sin_n and_o promise_v to_o my_o soul_n through_o my_o saviour_n christ_n jesus_n a_o most_o happy_a conquest_n over_o they_o all_o by_o affliction_n god_n keep_v we_o as_o in_o prison_n and_o restrain_v we_o from_o do_v evil_n neither_o can_v any_o set_v at_o liberty_n
but_o god_n our_o lord_n who_o be_v not_o rigorous_a to_o any_o but_o righteous_a to_o all_o god_n sanctify_v your_o affliction_n and_o free_v you_o from_o misery_n comfort_v you_o in_o paradise_n and_o establish_v you_o real_o with_o glory_n amen_n wednesday_n meditation_n when_o the_o lord_n do_v visit_v we_o and_o not_o present_o free_v we_o out_o of_o trouble_n we_o must_v beware_v and_o take_v heed_n that_o we_o murmur_v not_o against_o god_n to_o require_v or_o grudge_v at_o his_o chastisement_n god_n sometime_o suffer_v his_o even_n to_o wrestle_v against_o desperation_n and_o to_o see_v no_o glimmer_a of_o his_o mercy_n sometime_o again_o he_o cause_v the_o heart_n of_o his_o dear_a child_n to_o leap_v for_o joy_n then_o make_v his_o majesty_n most_o know_v when_o it_o may_v tend_v most_o for_o the_o comfort_n of_o the_o elect_n learn_v we_o all_o to_o wait_v the_o lord_n leisure_n for_o our_o deliverance_n not_o to_o prescribe_v his_o time_n but_o stay_v his_o leisure_n and_o willing_o wait_v till_o he_o comfort_v we_o again_o god_n forget_v not_o to_o be_v gracious_a though_o sometime_o he_o seem_v as_o though_o he_o will_v shut_v up_o his_o love_a kindness_n in_o displeasure_n howsoever_o it_o please_v god_n now_o and_o then_o to_o humble_v his_o child_n yet_o he_o forsake_v they_o not_o for_o ever_o what_o be_v many_o night_n of_o affliction_n in_o comparison_n of_o the_o joyful_a morning_n and_o sunshine_n of_o the_o everlasting_a mercy_n and_o favour_n of_o god_n these_o these_o rejoice_v our_o soul_n and_o comfort_v our_o heart_n which_o be_v oppress_v with_o sorrow_n deutro_n 8.16_o the_o lord_n humble_v his_o choose_a people_n and_o proove_v they_o that_o he_o may_v do_v they_o good_a at_o their_o latter_a end_n a_o man_n may_v gather_v more_o undoubted_a assurance_n of_o god_n everlasting_a favour_n towards_o his_o soul_n by_o inward_a affliction_n then_o by_o any_o outward_a prosperity_n in_o the_o world_n let_v we_o all_o consider_v the_o manner_n of_o god_n deal_v with_o his_o people_n in_o the_o world_n he_o will_v now_o and_o then_o spoil_v we_o of_o all_o our_o sense_n and_o feel_v of_o his_o mercy_n in_o christ_n yea_o suffer_v we_o to_o lie_v bleed_v in_o our_o misery_n yea_o scorhed_n and_o torment_v with_o the_o heat_n of_o god_n anger_n for_o sin_n but_o when_o our_o hope_n rest_v even_o go_v then_o do_v our_o heavenly_a father_n send_v a_o gracious_a rain_n and_o a_o bless_a shower_n to_o quench_v the_o heat_n of_o our_o poor_a afflict_a soul_n for_o sin_n which_o shall_v be_v as_o mercy_n to_o man_n in_o smart_n and_o misery_n object_n but_o tell_v i_o this_o object_n why_o seek_v god_n his_o servant_n in_o so_o much_o misery_n ans_fw-fr to_o make_v we_o all_o to_o depend_v of_o he_o only_o with_o faith_n and_o patience_n answ_n second_o to_o make_v we_o to_o know_v and_o see_v that_o we_o be_v nothing_o of_o ourselves_o but_o that_o all_o the_o strength_n we_o have_v it_o be_v only_o in_o christ_n three_o to_o stir_v up_o our_o heart_n to_o seek_v and_o pray_v unto_o the_o lord_n more_o earnest_o for_o help_n and_o succour_v four_o to_o make_v we_o esteem_v the_o mercy_n of_o god_n more_o high_o because_o thing_n easy_o come_v by_o be_v light_o esteem_v but_o thing_n long_o in_o get_v cost_v much_o trouble_n and_o pain_n be_v most_o set_v by_o often_o therefore_o do_v the_o lord_n defer_v his_o mercy_n unto_o the_o last_o gasp_n that_o so_o it_o may_v be_v the_o more_o esteem_v oh_o wait_v we_o god_n leisure_n though_o he_o defer_v long_o and_o seem_v to_o forget_v we_o we_o hope_v lord_n for_o life_n in_o the_o midst_n of_o death_n and_o say_v though_o thou_o kill_v we_o yet_o will_v we_o trust_v in_o thou_o although_o thou_o defer_v thy_o help_n and_o comfort_n for_o many_o year_n yet_o will_v we_o never_o let_v go_v our_o hold_n but_o still_o hang_v on_o thy_o mercy_n with_o our_o hand_n of_o faith_n say_v thus_o lord_n though_o thou_o have_v already_o whip_v i_o diverse_a way_n yet_o will_v i_o never_o forget_v to_o meet_v thou_o with_o my_o repentant_a tear_n well_o know_v thou_o esteem_v nothing_o when_o reformation_n of_o heart_n and_o life_n be_v want_v judgement_n come_v eftsoon_o from_o god_n for_o our_o sin_n yet_o lay_v he_o no_o more_o cross_n upon_o we_o than_o he_o in_o mercy_n will_v make_v we_o well_o able_a to_o bear_v grant_v such_o a_o issue_n as_o we_o shall_v gain_v more_o in_o the_o spirit_n than_o we_o shall_v loose_v in_o the_o flesh_n content_v yourself_o my_o brethren_n the_o cross_n in_o god_n due_a time_n shall_v be_v your_o advantage_n and_o leave_v a_o sure_a blessing_n behind_o it_o god_n impose_v no_o punishment_n upon_o we_o but_o for_o our_o sin_n the_o trial_n of_o our_o faith_n patience_n etc._n etc._n for_o our_o heavenly_a father_n do_v afflict_v we_o with_o light_a affliction_n to_o make_v we_o run_v unto_o he_o and_o kiss_v his_o rod_n he_o afflict_v we_o for_o our_o good_a the_o fervent_a in_o prayer_n hunger_n more_o after_o heaven_n and_o the_o more_o eager_o depend_v of_o his_o fatherly_a goodness_n and_o divine_a grace_n when_o we_o do_v ask_v one_o thing_n he_o give_v we_o another_o that_o be_v better_a for_o we_o that_o we_o may_v learn_v whole_o to_o depend_v of_o his_o goodness_n all_o the_o day_n of_o our_o life_n be_v you_o in_o distress_n fling_v yourself_o into_o the_o bless_a arm_n of_o the_o lord_n mercy_n so_o will_v he_o undoubted_o give_v you_o everlasting_a rest_n unto_o your_o soul_n such_o be_v the_o love_n of_o god_n that_o he_o never_o fail_v nor_o forsake_v his_o child_n never_o despair_v for_o any_o trouble_n but_o persuade_v your_o soul_n this_o that_o the_o god_n of_o peace_n will_v short_o tread_v down_o satan_n under_o your_o foot_n he_o be_v faithful_a that_o have_v make_v we_o this_o promise_n rom._n 16.20_o 16.20_o rom._n 16.20_o affliction_n be_v our_o portion_n on_o earth_n we_o must_v labour_v to_o get_v faith_n and_o patience_n in_o our_o soul_n that_o so_o we_o may_v hold_v out_o unto_o the_o end_n as_o we_o be_v god_n child_n we_o find_v no_o promise_n in_o the_o word_n of_o god_n to_o be_v free_v from_o temptation_n and_o trial_n poverty_n sickness_n etc._n etc._n howbeit_o as_o we_o be_v god_n child_n we_o have_v this_o promise_n that_o these_o thing_n shall_v never_o hurt_v we_o because_o the_o lord_n will_v so_o sanctify_v they_o unto_o we_o as_o they_o will_v sure_o leave_v a_o blessing_n behind_o they_o in_o time_n of_o danger_n and_o death_n nought_o in_o the_o world_n shall_v more_o comfort_v we_o then_o this_o to_o remember_v that_o we_o have_v walk_v before_o god_n in_o truth_n and_o with_o a_o upright_o heart_n esay_n 28.3_o this_o cheer_a ezechiah_n when_o he_o be_v go_v
