word_n be_v not_o to_o be_v think_v because_o they_o certify_v we_o that_o the_o world_n that_o then_o be_v perish_v now_o can_v that_o be_v true_a of_o the_o natural_a world_n yet_o it_o must_v be_v sink_v inward_a a_o little_a be_v the_o egg_n therefore_o perish_v no_o more_o can_v the_o material_a heaven_n and_o earth_n perish_v by_o a_o mere_a change_n of_o their_o constitution_n and_o form_n and_o have_v but_o such_o a_o change_n as_o that_o befall_v they_o the_o apostle_n will_v certain_o have_v express_v it_o according_o and_o not_o have_v say_v the_o world_n that_o then_o be_v perish_v but_o since_o he_o have_v thus_o express_v it_o the_o animate_v world_n must_v be_v here_o understand_v that_o so_o the_o word_n speak_v may_v come_v up_o to_o the_o thing_n and_o express_v it_o in_o a_o just_a and_o true_a sense_n but_o because_o he_o say_v that_o the_o apostle_n speak_v here_o of_o the_o natural_a world_n particular_o in_o the_o 6_o verse_n and_o offer_v reason_n to_o prove_v that_o it_o perish_v review_n p._n 14._o we_o shall_v lay_v down_o the_o substance_n of_o these_o reason_n and_o brief_o answer_v they_o first_o the_o ground_n these_o scoffer_n go_v upon_o be_v take_v from_o the_o permanency_n of_o the_o natural_a world_n in_o the_o same_o state_n from_o the_o beginning_n and_o therefore_o if_o the_o apostle_n will_v take_v away_o their_o argument_n he_o must_v show_v that_o the_o natural_a world_n have_v be_v change_v or_o have_v perish_v answ_n and_o do_v he_o not_o show_v they_o a_o sufficient_a change_n in_o nature_n at_o the_o deluge_n when_o as_o he_o mind_v they_o the_o earth_n stand_v so_o deep_a and_o the_o heaven_n so_o high_a in_o water_n that_o thereby_o the_o animate_v world_n perish_v only_o this_o change_n be_v a_o change_n in_o the_o condition_n not_o of_o the_o constitution_n of_o the_o natural_a world_n second_o these_o scoffer_n can_v not_o be_v ignorant_a that_o there_o be_v a_o deluge_n which_o destroy_v mankind_n and_o therefore_o it_o be_v the_o constitution_n of_o those_o old_a heaven_n and_o earth_n and_o the_o change_n and_o destruction_n of_o they_o at_o the_o deluge_n that_o they_o be_v ignorant_a of_o answ_n if_o they_o be_v not_o ignorant_a of_o the_o destructive_a deluge_n they_o may_v have_v forget_v it_o 137._o see_v disc_n p._n 137._o and_o therefore_o the_o apostle_n mind_v they_o of_o it_o or_o person_n he_o reprehend_v three_o the_o apostle_n design_n be_v to_o prove_v the_o conflagration_n which_o will_v be_v a_o destruction_n of_o the_o natural_a world_n and_o therefore_o he_o must_v use_v a_o argument_n take_v from_o a_o precedent_a destruction_n of_o that_o world_n answ_n the_o design_n of_o the_o apostle_n be_v not_o to_o oppose_v reason_n to_o reason_n strict_o in_o a_o just_a parity_n of_o instance_n but_o fair_o to_o infer_v one_o judicial_a and_o calamitous_a providence_n or_o dispensation_n from_o another_o and_o god_n have_v drown_v the_o old_a heaven_n in_o some_o measure_n as_o well_o as_o the_o earth_n by_o the_o word_n of_o his_o power_n bring_v in_o the_o flood_n upon_o the_o ungodly_a he_o will_v from_o hence_o convince_v they_o that_o by_o the_o same_o word_n the_o present_a heaven_n and_o earth_n be_v reserve_v unto_o fire_n which_o shall_v then_o be_v the_o instrument_n of_o perdition_n to_o the_o impious_a and_o the_o whole_a live_a world_n as_o water_n be_v before_o and_o so_o from_o one_o general_a destruction_n past_a he_o strenuous_o argue_v the_o certain_a futurity_n of_o another_o to_o come_v four_o unless_o we_o understand_v here_o the_o natural_a world_n we_o make_v the_o apostle_n both_o redundant_fw-la in_o his_o discourse_n and_o also_o very_o obscure_a in_o a_o easy_a argument_n answ_n his_o discourse_n for_o this_o will_v cause_v by_o god_n power_n but_o to_o represent_v the_o greatness_n of_o that_o deluge_n which_o swell_v so_o mighty_o upon_o the_o earth_n that_o in_o some_o measure_n it_o invade_v the_o heaven_n and_o therefore_o to_o what_o he_o say_v of_o the_o flood_n be_v destroy_v mankind_n in_o the_o forego_n chapter_n v._n 5_o he_o add_v here_o a_o description_n of_o the_o vastness_n of_o that_o flood_n in_o the_o drown_a posture_n which_o the_o heaven_n and_o earth_n then_o stand_v in_o what_o he_o say_v be_v far_o from_o be_v superfluous_a or_o redundant_fw-la nor_o be_v his_o argument_n
