there_o be_v nothing_o more_o certain_a than_o that_o god_n will_v never_o afflict_v his_o creature_n if_o some_o great_a good_a be_v not_o in_o view_n he_o envy_v not_o his_o people_n any_o of_o their_o ease_n peace_n health_n liberty_n or_o other_o enjoyment_n but_o he_o love_v they_o with_o a_o strong_a and_o holy_a and_o wise_a affection_n and_o therefore_o will_n afflict_v they_o in_o which_o wicked_a apprehension_n as_o it_o destroy_v all_o true_a religion_n so_o particular_o it_o breed_v the_o distemper_n that_o i_o be_o speak_v of_o we_o be_v strange_o fond_a of_o this_o life_n as_o miserable_a as_o it_o be_v and_o of_o this_o body_n as_o unsuitable_a as_o it_o be_v and_o therefore_o be_v we_o so_o much_o offend_v with_o all_o thing_n that_o be_v grievous_a and_o hurtful_a to_o the_o same_o yea_o we_o be_v apt_a to_o fret_v against_o god_n himself_o if_o he_o do_v not_o please_v and_o pamper_v they_o as_o much_o as_o we_o it_o be_v a_o woeful_a degeneracy_n that_o have_v befall_v the_o soul_n of_o man_n which_o make_v he_o mis-judge_n and_o mistake_v his_o main_a interest_n the_o like_a mistake_n be_v not_o to_o be_v find_v in_o the_o whole_a world_n sure_a i_o will_v not_o say_v with_o the_o prophet_n pass_v you_o over_o the_o isle_n of_o chittim_n and_o send_v unto_o kedar_n and_o see_v if_o there_o be_v such_o a_o thing_n but_o indeed_o pass_v you_o through_o the_o whole_a creation_n and_o visit_v all_o the_o particular_a being_n that_o be_v therein_o and_o you_o shall_v not_o find_v such_o a_o thing_n such_o a_o degeneracy_n as_o this_o be_v it_o be_v not_o only_o a_o absurd_a but_o a_o monstrous_a and_o blasphemous_a thing_n for_o any_o man_n to_o pray_v to_o god_n to_o fulfil_v his_o lust_n the_o interest_n of_o god_n be_v so_o perfect_o contrary_a to_o the_o interest_n of_o carnal_a self_n and_o yet_o i_o fear_v there_o be_v very_o many_o that_o do_v thus_o interpretative_o blaspheme_v god_n even_o in_o their_o prayer_n when_o they_o pretend_v to_o honour_v he_o and_o these_o sometime_o perhaps_o not_o of_o the_o very_o worst_a of_o man_n neither_o what_o will_v it_o have_v be_v else_o but_o a_o prayer_n of_o lust_n the_o charity_n that_o be_v stark_o blind_a be_v no_o charity_n yea_o i_o may_v add_v that_o it_o be_v the_o part_n of_o charity_n to_o discover_v a_o multitude_n of_o sin_n before_o the_o eye_n of_o prayer_n of_o many_o that_o seem_v to_o be_v zealous_a for_o the_o lord_n every_o thing_n be_v anti-christian_n that_o be_v contrary_a to_o their_o opinion_n ease_n or_o interest_n and_o then_o be_v the_o kingdom_n of_o christ_n exalt_v when_o they_o themselves_o be_v advance_v into_o a_o peaceful_a honourable_a and_o roll_a state_n what_o if_o it_o shall_v come_v to_o pass_v that_o some_o even_o of_o they_o that_o seem_v to_o be_v most_o forward_o to_o sit_v at_o the_o right_n and_o left_a hand_n of_o christ_n in_o his_o kingdom_n shall_v be_v find_v to_o stand_v on_o his_o left_a hand_n with_o the_o impure_a goat_n in_o the_o day_n of_o the_o decision_n of_o all_o thing_n and_o what_o can_v we_o say_v of_o those_o animose_n and_o furious_a strive_n and_o groan_n of_o man_n in_o prayer_n against_o all_o that_o dissent_n from_o themselves_o but_o that_o their_o prayer_n be_v rather_o the_o bubling_n and_o boiling_n up_o of_o interest_n than_o the_o language_n of_o the_o pure_a peaceable_a and_o gentle_a spirit_n of_o god_n i_o fear_v these_o man_n prayer_n be_v not_o put_v up_o without_o wrath_n as_o the_o apostle_n exhort_v 1_o tim._n 2._o 8._o and_o i_o wish_v their_o and_o hope_n for_o but_o it_o be_v some_o real_a communication_n from_o god_n or_o something_o that_o may_v capacitate_v he_o for_o god_n in_o all_o these_o every_o man_n that_o be_v wrong_v and_o oppress_v will_v glad_o be_v right_v and_o deliver_v but_o the_o godly_a man_n set_v not_o his_o heart_n so_o much_o upon_o his_o own_o ease_n as_o upon_o the_o honour_n of_o god_n and_o the_o interest_n of_o truth_n and_o righteousness_n which_o he_o desire_v may_v take_v place_n in_o the_o world_n every_o man_n will_v be_v great_a but_o the_o good_a man_n alone_o accept_v of_o worldly_a
