he_o be_v mighty_o against_o they_o but_o come_v another_o time_n and_o seek_v to_o draw_v those_o consequent_n from_o that_o opinion_n which_o he_o hold_v and_o he_o seek_v to_o maintain_v they_o which_o he_o will_v not_o do_v but_o for_o that_o engagement_n he_o have_v unto_o that_o opinion_n but_o when_o a_o gracious_a heart_n find_v this_o that_o all_o engagement_n to_o man_n and_o the_o world_n and_o self_n be_v break_v and_o he_o give_v himself_o to_o be_v engage_v whole_o in_o god_n all_o that_o be_v self_n before_o in_o his_o credit_n and_o liberty_n and_o estate_n and_o ease_n and_o comfort_n be_v put_v upon_o the_o name_n of_o god_n the_o praise_n of_o god_n the_o further_a the_o truth_n of_o god_n and_o his_o gospel_n than_o any_o truth_n of_o god_n that_o come_v to_o little_a gloss_n of_o a_o truth_n of_o god_n but_o the_o shine_n of_o it_o that_o a_o man_n can_v shut_v his_o eye_n against_o it_o sometime_o the_o truth_n come_v more_o particular_o to_o the_o come_v like_o a_o key_n that_o be_v fit_v to_o a_o lock_n if_o you_o bring_v a_o key_n to_o the_o lock_n though_o it_o may_v be_v like_o the_o right_a key_n and_o as_o strong_a a_o key_n as_o the_o right_n be_v yet_o if_o it_o be_v not_o indeed_o the_o right_n if_o it_o miss_v but_o in_o one_o ward_n of_o the_o lock_n never_o so_o little_a you_o may_v spoil_v both_o the_o lock_n and_o the_o key_n but_o you_o can_v open_v the_o lock_n though_o you_o have_v never_o so_o much_o strength_n but_o come_v with_o a_o key_n suit_v to_o that_o lock_n and_o do_v but_o turn_v it_o and_o it_o open_v present_o so_o when_o it_o please_v god_n to_o come_v with_o his_o truth_n to_o our_o soul_n we_o be_v backward_o and_o we_o hear_v many_o truth_n but_o they_o do_v not_o meet_v with_o all_o our_o be_v present_v to_o the_o one_o one_o way_n and_o he_o see_v it_o clear_o and_o the_o same_o thing_n be_v present_v to_o another_o another_o way_n and_o he_o can_v see_v it_o and_o therefore_o it_o shall_v teach_v we_o to_o have_v patience_n when_o we_o have_v to_o deal_v with_o such_o as_o do_v not_o see_v a_o thing_n clear_a as_o when_o we_o come_v to_o a_o lock_n that_o we_o have_v not_o encouragement_n to_o the_o servant_n of_o god_n to_o teach_v they_o though_o they_o do_v not_o feel_v their_o heart_n always_o in_o the_o same_o temper_n and_o to_o have_v the_o same_o spirit_n to_o do_v good_a not_o to_o be_v discourage_v it_o be_v true_a we_o shall_v be_v humble_v for_o want_n of_o have_v our_o heart_n up_o at_o any_o time_n but_o be_v not_o discourage_v because_o it_o be_v no_o other_o but_o what_o befall_v the_o most_o dear_a servant_n of_o god_n and_o though_o you_o do_v not_o find_v your_o heart_n up_o always_o as_o at_o some_o time_n do_v not_o therefore_o conclude_v there_o be_v now_o no_o good_a at_o all_o in_o i_o for_o god_n people_n be_v ready_a and_o prepare_v for_o every_o good_a work_n and_o my_o heart_n be_v thus_o dull_a and_o heavy_a and_o dead_a and_o it_o will_v never_o be_v otherwise_o with_o i_o i_o be_o afraid_a whensoever_o i_o shall_v be_v call_v to_o the_o service_n of_o god_n my_o heart_n will_v be_v thus_o and_o i_o shall_v forsake_v god_n and_o betray_v the_o cause_n of_o god_n do_v not_o reason_n thus_o to_o discourage_v yourselves_o take_v heed_n of_o those_o determine_a thought_n to_o determine_v that_o your_o heart_n will_v be_v always_o so_o because_o they_o be_v so_o for_o the_o present_a there_o be_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o difference_n between_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n people_n at_o some_o time_n and_o at_o other_o time_n and_o therefore_o there_o may_v be_v so_o in_o you_o for_o your_o help_n against_o these_o discourage_a thought_n first_o consider_v that_o you_o have_v union_n with_o a_o principle_n that_o be_v full_a of_o all_o grace_n though_o you_o do_v not_o feel_v the_o influence_n of_o it_o at_o all_o time_n alike_o you_o have_v union_n with_o a_o principle_n so_o full_a that_o you_o have_v no_o cause_n to_o determine_v against_o yourselves_o second_o know_v you_o have_v promise_n that_o be_v full_a of_o grace_n for_o the_o encourage_n of_o god_n servant_n promise_n that_o there_o may_v be_v draw_v abundance_n of_o good_a from_o and_o therefore_o you_o can_v determine_v that_o it_o shall_v not_o be_v otherwise_o with_o you_o three_o know_v the_o glory_n of_o god_n be_v as_o dear_a and_o precious_a to_o he_o as_o your_o own_o soul_n be_v to_o you_o and_o therefore_o if_o so_o be_v the_o cause_n the_o honour_n of_o god_n depend_v upon_o it_o know_v god_n will_v take_v care_n for_o his_o own_o honour_n you_o be_v afraid_a you_o shall_v betray_v the_o cause_n of_o god_n because_o you_o find_v your_o heart_n so_o down_o now_o and_o perhaps_o if_o they_o be_v so_o down_o then_o when_o god_n call_v you_o to_o stand_v for_o his_o cause_n it_o may_v be_v so_o but_o what_o be_v it_o that_o trouble_v you_o you_o be_v afraid_a to_o bring_v guilt_n and_o misery_n upon_o yourselves_o and_o dishonour_n god_n but_o know_v the_o glory_n of_o god_n be_v precious_a to_o he_o and_o be_v it_o be_v engage_v in_o you_o that_o you_o shall_v dishonour_v he_o be_v one_o of_o he_o he_o will_v take_v care_n of_o you_o four_o consider_v how_o god_n have_v come_v in_o gracious_o to_o supply_v his_o people_n in_o the_o time_n of_o need_n he_o have_v fill_v their_o spirit_n in_o the_o time_n of_o straits_n when_o he_o have_v call_v they_o to_o any_o hard_a work_n and_o they_o have_v do_v that_o which_o they_o think_v they_o shall_v never_o have_v do_v as_o it_o be_v with_o wicked_a man_n you_o see_v some_o so_o vile_a and_o wicked_a as_o you_o can_v never_o have_v think_v they_o shall_v have_v be_v so_o the_o godly_a though_o sometimes_o their_o heart_n be_v down_o yet_o at_o other_o time_n they_o have_v such_o assistance_n and_o enlargement_n and_o fullness_n of_o the_o spirit_n as_o one_o will_v never_o have_v think_v they_o shall_v have_v have_v five_o god_n have_v make_v a_o mighty_a difference_n in_o your_o estate_n from_o that_o they_o be_v before_o and_o therefore_o why_o shall_v you_o not_o hope_v that_o god_n will_v make_v a_o difference_n between_o that_o we_o be_v now_o and_o that_o we_o may_v be_v hereafter_o if_o god_n have_v wrought_v the_o least_o degree_n of_o save_a grace_n in_o you_o he_o have_v make_v more_o difference_n comfortable_a fitness_n for_o service_n or_o suffer_v object_n i_o can_v but_o say_v it_o have_v be_v so_o with_o i_o but_o it_o be_v go_v and_o down_o again_o there_o be_v none_o but_o have_v some_o flashing_n and_o stir_n and_o some_o good_a mood_n and_o i_o may_v be_v no_o more_o for_o all_o i_o know_v grace_n be_v a_o constant_a thing_n and_o the_o heart_n be_v establish_v with_o it_o and_o therefore_o though_o i_o feel_v my_o heart_n a_o little_a up_o sometime_o yet_o they_o be_v but_o such_o flashing_n as_o any_o may_v have_v that_o have_v no_o grace_n answ_n to_o that_o i_o answer_v there_o be_v some_o work_n of_o grace_n that_o be_v steady_a and_o constant_a that_o do_v more_o immediate_o flow_v from_o the_o principle_n and_o be_v of_o grace_n and_o there_o be_v other_o work_n of_o grace_n that_o be_v more_o remote_a that_o be_v not_o so_o steady_a and_o constant_a 1._o there_o be_v some_o that_o be_v steady_a and_o constant_a as_o these_o two_o thing_n take_v god_n people_n and_o consider_v of_o they_o in_o any_o condition_n if_o they_o know_v but_o their_o own_o heart_n they_o will_v find_v these_o two_o thing_n first_o a_o approve_v of_o the_o life_n and_o power_n and_o the_o strictness_n of_o the_o way_n of_o godliness_n second_o they_o will_v find_v a_o savour_n of_o that_o which_o be_v spiritual_a either_o in_o ordinance_n or_o in_o god_n people_n their_o heart_n will_v savour_v they_o though_o their_o heart_n be_v very_o much_o down_o yet_o these_o two_o thing_n they_o find_v constant_a 2._o but_o for_o the_o ability_n to_o perform_v duty_n for_o ability_n in_o service_n or_o suffering_n they_o do_v not_o lie_v so_o next_o the_o root_n of_o grace_n they_o be_v but_o as_o the_o leave_n or_o the_o blossom_n or_o the_o fruit_n now_o though_o the_o sap_n be_v constant_a at_o the_o root_n yet_o the_o blossom_n leaf_n and_o fruit_n be_v not_o object_n but_o you_o will_v say_v be_v there_o may_v be_v good_a mood_n in_o man_n take_v the_o worst_a of_o all_o though_o their_o heart_n be_v naught_o sometime_o yet_o their_o heart_n be_v up_o at_o other_o time_n and_o may_v not_o you_o instead_o of_o encourage_v god_n servant_n encourage_v the_o wicked_a they_o may_v think_v we_o hear_v there_o be_v a_o difference_n between_o god_n people_n they_o be_v not_o always_o alike_o so_o it_o be_v with_o i_o sometime_o i_o be_o distemper_v but_o at_o other_o time_n thanks_o be_v to_o god_n it_o be_v better_a with_o i_o and_o so_o instead_o of_o take_v away_o discouragement_n from_o those_o that_o be_v weak_a there_o may_v be_v encouragement_n to_o the_o wicked_a and_o therefore_o where_o lie_v the_o difference_n between_o the_o good_a mood_n that_o some_o have_v that_o have_v no_o true_a grace_n and_o the_o the_o world_n though_o your_o heart_n be_v never_o so_o up_o will_v not_o discover_v the_o truth_n of_o grace_n second_o those_o that_o have_v only_o some_o good_a mood_n at_o some_o time_n and_o no_o bottom_n of_o any_o true_a grace_n they_o in_o their_o good_a mood_n be_v not_o humble_v for_o that_o which_o be_v fail_v in_o they_o before_o their_o heart_n indeed_o be_v sometime_o up_o and_o and_o their_o heart_n be_v in_o such_o a_o toil_n and_o tumult_n that_o they_o can_v hearken_v to_o any_o thing_n that_o shall_v guide_v themselves_o in_o this_o work_n 13._o another_o rule_n for_o the_o order_n of_o your_o faith_n to_o help_v you_o through_o difficult_a work_n be_v to_o observe_v the_o dependence_n that_o one_o work_n have_v upon_o another_o many_o see_v a_o work_n god_n will_v have_v they_o to_o do_v and_o they_o present_o set_v upon_o that_o and_o do_v not_o observe_v what_o dependence_n this_o have_v upon_o somewhat_o else_o and_o so_o miscarry_v suppose_v a_o mariner_n strive_v and_o labour_v and_o tug_v in_o many_o duty_n but_o there_o be_v some_o secret_a holdfast_n that_o they_o observe_v not_o that_o those_o duty_n have_v dependence_n upon_o and_o they_o can_v never_o bring_v their_o work_n to_o pass_v as_o one_o complain_v of_o the_o difficulty_n of_o get_v a_o heart_n to_o go_v to_o god_n in_o prayer_n god_n know_v i_o have_v be_v in_o prayer_n &_o have_v strive_v with_o my_o soul_n with_o all_o my_o might_n as_o in_o the_o presence_n of_o god_n for_o to_o get_v up_o my_o heart_n you_o strive_v and_o tug_v at_o this_o and_o may_v be_v you_o think_v of_o some_o promise_n and_o exercise_v faith_n too_o but_o there_o be_v some_o corruption_n that_o seem_v to_o be_v a_o great_a way_n off_o from_o this_o that_o this_o have_v dependence_n upon_o which_o make_v this_o difficult_a and_o you_o shall_v set_v your_o faith_n on_o work_n to_o deliver_v yourselves_o from_o that_o and_o then_o it_o will_v come_v off_o better_o as_o now_o may_n be_v you_o have_v be_v strive_v to_o get_v your_o heart_n up_o to_o god_n in_o prayer_n and_o if_o you_o look_v well_o to_o it_o it_o may_v be_v the_o frowardness_n and_o petrishness_n and_o passion_n of_o your_o heart_n in_o your_o family_n with_o servant_n or_o wife_n or_o husband_n be_v that_o which_o keep_v down_o your_o heart_n when_o you_o come_v into_o god_n presence_n you_o shall_v first_o have_v set_v your_o faith_n on_o work_n to_o have_v cure_v that_o and_o if_o you_o have_v cure_v that_o you_o may_v have_v get_v up_o your_o heart_n many_o slip_n over_o many_o corruption_n and_o look_v at_o duty_n a_o great_a way_n off_o and_o they_o strive_v and_o take_v pain_n but_o if_o they_o have_v true_a christian_a wisdom_n they_o shall_v look_v what_o difficulty_n and_o hindrance_n lie_v between_o they_o and_o that_o duty_n and_o they_o shall_v labour_v to_o take_v away_o that_o and_o so_o for_o faith_n we_o can_v believe_v in_o god_n and_o in_o the_o promise_n may_v be_v narrow_o to_o corruption_n though_o never_o so_o far_o off_o and_o set_v thy_o heart_n in_o general_n against_o all_o one_o as_o well_o as_o another_o 14_o again_o take_v need_n of_o listen_v to_o temptation_n when_o as_o you_o be_v about_o any_o hard_a work_n there_o will_v come_v abundance_n of_o temptation_n what_o you_o go_v through_o this_o work_n those_o that_o have_v be_v strong_a than_o you_o have_v miscarry_v it_o be_v a_o mighty_a hard_a work_n and_o you_o be_v a_o poor_a creature_n if_o it_o be_v the_o work_n of_o the_o lord_n go_v to_o it_o with_o a_o naked_a upright_a heart_n be_v difficult_a take_v heed_n of_o any_o disorderly_a

god_n do_v not_o come_v in_o with_o his_o grace_n to_o help_v i_o and_o i_o can_v do_v nothing_o without_o god_n how_o come_v it_o to_o pass_v nothing_o be_v do_v because_o the_o work_n be_v hard_a or_o because_o you_o do_v not_o use_v what_o power_n god_n give_v to_o do_v it_o withal_o now_o the_o safe_a way_n be_v rather_o to_o reason_n against_o yourselves_o that_o you_o have_v not_o do_v
