do_v many_o time_n obscure_v his_o state_n in_o grace_n yet_o can_v they_o not_o extinguish_v the_o sponk_n of_o regeneration_n begin_v in_o he_o or_o prove_v the_o work_n of_o grace_n in_o he_o not_o to_o be_v at_o all_o 3._o we_o grant_v that_o the_o condition_n of_o a_o true_a convert_n at_o sometime_o may_v be_v so_o bad_a by_o reason_n of_o sinful_a distemper_n and_o fleshly_a carriage_n that_o many_o unrenewed_a man_n conversation_n shall_v be_v find_v far_o more_o commendable_a than_o the_o present_a condition_n and_o carriage_n of_o the_o renew_a man_n in_o his_o sinful_a condition_n in_o which_o case_n neither_o god_n nor_o his_o own_o conscience_n nor_o any_o that_o fear_v god_n can_v speak_v any_o thing_n but_o wrath_n to_o he_o till_o he_o repent_v and_o turn_v evil_a and_o the_o first_o shall_v be_v of_o those_o who_o do_v lament_v their_o condition_n because_o they_o can_v be_v affect_v with_o the_o sense_n of_o their_o sin_n nor_o with_o the_o sense_n of_o god_n benefit_n and_o favour_n bestow_v on_o they_o as_o they_o shall_v can_v be_v affect_v with_o the_o sense_n of_o threaten_a judgement_n as_o be_v require_v and_o can_v be_v affect_v with_o the_o sense_n of_o the_o misery_n and_o mercy_n dispense_v towards_o other_o and_o can_v come_v up_o to_o the_o obedience_n of_o the_o apostle_n precept_n to_o rejoice_v with_o they_o that_o rejoice_v sense_n of_o this_o defect_n in_o his_o affection_n study_v to_o bring_v forth_o the_o effect_n of_o those_o affection_n that_o be_v to_o say_v let_v he_o go_v about_o to_o do_v the_o work_n of_o a_o so_o what_o seem_v to_o he_o in-laking_a in_o his_o heart_n shall_v be_v find_v forthcoming_a in_o his_o hand_n and_o action_n for_o the_o great_a glory_n to_o god_n and_o edification_n of_o his_o condition_n that_o he_o condemn_v all_o the_o service_n and_o devotion_n he_o be_v about_o for_o the_o time_n and_o cast_v it_o away_o as_o altogether_o pollute_v and_o
in_o their_o call_n and_o that_o as_o they_o find_v the_o imperfection_n of_o their_o service_n so_o they_o be_v force_v to_o renounce_v all_o confidence_n in_o their_o own_o righteousness_n and_o to_o fly_v to_o the_o righteousness_n of_o christ_n as_o the_o only_a true_a garment_n able_a to_o hide_v their_o nakedness_n yet_o they_o be_v for_o the_o most_o part_n heavy_a in_o their_o spirit_n seldom_o they_o rejoice_v but_o many_o time_n they_o weep_v and_o howsoever_o they_o maintain_v confidence_n in_o christ_n for_o the_o state_n they_o stand_v into_o yet_o when_o they_o consider_v mistake_v be_v overclouded_n and_o not_o shine_v so_o clear_o as_o before_o yet_o the_o qualification_n be_v comfortable_a to_o all_o they_o who_o find_v the_o same_o in_o themselves_o and_o be_v inductive_a to_o make_v every_o believer_n to_o aim_v to_o excel_v in_o these_o grace_n and_o so_o to_o confirm_v their_o own_o faith_n more_o and_o more_o as_o 2_o pet._n 1._o 4_o 5_o 6_o 7._o we_o be_v exhort_v again_o these_o qualification_n be_v sign_n of_o a_o believer_n already_o enter_v in_o the_o covenant_n of_o grace_n by_o faith_n in_o christ_n and_o begin_v to_o bring_v forth_o good_a fruit_n but_o they_o be_v not_o the_o condition_n of_o enter_v into_o the_o covenant_n for_o than_o none_o can_v enter_v in_o covenant_n till_o first_o these_o qualification_n in_o exercise_n be_v or_o by_o some_o corrupt_a communication_n have_v grieve_v the_o lord_n spirit_n and_o so_o have_v draw_v on_o some_o desertion_n and_o withdraw_a of_o illumination_n from_o he_o 2._o this_o case_n may_v also_o fall_v out_o from_o some_o present_a perturbation_n of_o mind_n and_o passion_n whereby_o his_o reason_n be_v so_o take_v up_o for_o the_o time_n that_o it_o can_v discharge_v its_o
