own_o strength_n keep_v themselves_o from_o commit_v horrible_a sin_n but_o do_v so_o greevousâ—y_o fall_v that_o without_o god_n great_a mercy_n they_o have_v perish_v everlasting_o how_o much_o more_o ought_v we_o then_o miserable_a wretch_n which_o have_v no_o feel_n of_o god_n within_o we_o at_o all_o continual_o to_o fear_v not_o only_o that_o we_o may_v fall_v as_o they_o do_v but_o also_o be_v overcome_v and_o drown_v in_o sin_n which_o they_o be_v not_o and_o so_o by_o consider_v their_o fall_n take_v the_o better_a occasion_n to_o acknowledge_v our_o own_o infirmity_n and_o weakness_n and_o therefore_o more_o earnest_o to_o call_v unto_o almighty_a god_n with_o hearty_a prayer_n incessauntlye_o for_o his_o grace_n to_o strengthen_v we_o and_o to_o defend_v we_o from_o a_o man_n that_o give_v himself_o to_o fervent_a prayer_n now_o then_o dear_o belove_v see_v prayer_n be_v so_o needful_a a_o thing_n and_o of_o so_o great_a strength_n before_o god_n let_v we_o accord_v as_o we_o be_v teach_v by_o the_o example_n of_o christ_n and_o his_o apostle_n be_v earnest_a and_o diligent_a in_o call_v on_o the_o name_n of_o the_o lord_n let_v we_o never_o faint_v never_o slack_v never_o geve_v over_o but_o let_v we_o daily_o and_o hourly_o early_o and_o late_o in_o season_n and_o out_o of_o season_n be_v occupy_v in_o godly_a meditation_n and_o prayer_n what_o if_o we_o obtain_v not_o our_o petition_n at_o the_o first_o yet_o let_v we_o not_o be_v discourage_v but_o let_v we_o continual_o cry_v and_o call_v upon_o god_n he_o will_v sure_o hear_v we_o at_o length_n if_o for_o no_o other_o cause_n yet_o for_o very_a importunity_n sake_n remember_v the_o parable_n of_o the_o unrighteous_a judge_n and_o the_o poor_a widow_n how_o she_o by_o 17._o her_o importunate_a mean_n cause_v he_o to_o do_v her_o justice_n against_o her_o adversary_n although_o otherwise_o he_o fear_v neither_o god_n nor_o man_n shall_v not_o god_n much_o more_o avenge_v his_o have_v in_o this_o world_n we_o receive_v it_o only_o at_o his_o hand_n to_o this_o effect_n serve_v the_o place_n of_o s._n james_n every_o good_a and_o perfect_a 1._o gift_n say_v he_o come_v from_o above_o and_o proceed_v from_o the_o father_n of_o light_v to_o this_o effect_n also_o serve_v the_o testimony_n of_o paul_n in_o diverse_a place_n of_o his_o epistle_n witness_v that_o the_o spirit_n of_o wisdom_n the_o spirit_n of_o knowledge_n and_o revelation_n yea_o every_o good_a and_o heavenly_a gift_n as_o faith_n hope_n charity_n grace_n and_o peace_n come_v only_o and_o sole_o of_o god_n in_o consideration_n whereof_o he_o burst_v out_o into_o a_o sudden_a passion_n and_o say_v oh_o man_n what_o thing_n have_v thou_o which_o thou_o 4._o have_v not_o receive_v therefore_o whensoever_o we_o need_v or_o lack_v any_o thing_n pertain_a either_o to_o the_o body_n or_o to_o the_o soul_n it_o behove_v we_o to_o run_v only_o unto_o god_o who_o be_v the_o only_a giver_n of_o all_o good_a art_n in_o 11._o heaven_n etc_n etc_n and_o do_v not_o god_n himself_o by_o the_o mouth_n of_o his_o prophet_n david_n will_n and_o command_v we_o to_o call_v upon_o he_o the_o apostle_n wish_v grace_n and_o peace_n to_o all_o they_o that_o call_v on_o the_o 50._o name_n of_o our_o lord_n and_o of_o his_o son_n jesus_n christ_n as_o do_v also_o the_o prophet_n joel_n say_v and_o it_o shall_v come_v to_o pass_v that_o whosoever_o shall_v call_v on_o 1._o the_o name_n of_o the_o lord_n shall_v be_v save_v thus_o than_o it_o be_v plain_a by_o the_o infallible_a word_n of_o truth_n and_o life_n that_o in_o all_o our_o necessity_n we_o must_v flee_v unto_o god_n direct_v our_o prayer_n unto_o he_o call_v upon_o his_o holy_a name_n desire_n help_n at_o his_o hand_n and_o at_o no_o other_o whereof_o if_o you_o will_v yet_o have_v a_o further_a reason_n mark_v that_o which_o follow_v there_o be_v certain_a condition_n most_o requisite_a to_o be_v find_v in_o every_o such_o a_o one_o that_o must_v be_v call_v upon_o which_o if_o they_o be_v not_o find_v in_o he_o unto_o who_o we_o pray_v then_o do_v our_o prayer_n avail_v we_o nothing_o but_o be_v altogether_o in_o vain_a the_o first_o be_v this_o that_o he_o to_o who_o we_o make_v our_o prayer_n be_v able_a to_o help_v we_o the_o second_o be_v that_o he_o will_v help_v we_o the_o third_o be_v that_o he_o be_v such_o a_o one_o as_o may_v hear_v our_o prayer_n the_o four_o be_v that_o he_o understand_v better_o than_o we_o ourselves_o what_o we_o lack_v and_o how_o far_o we_o have_v need_n of_o help_n if_o these_o thing_n be_v to_o be_v find_v in_o any_o other_o save_v only_a god_n then_o may_v we_o lawful_o call_v upon_o some_o other_o beside_o god_n but_o what_o man_n be_v so_o gross_a but_o he_o well_o understand_v that_o these_o thing_n be_v only_o proper_a to_o he_o which_o be_v omnipotent_a and_o know_v all_o thing_n even_o the_o very_a secret_n of_o the_o heart_n that_o be_v to_o say_v only_a
