they_o have_v be_v scatter_v and_o drive_v away_o in_o the_o dark_a and_o in_o the_o cloudy_a day_n and_o to_o make_v manifest_a the_o way_n of_o life_n free_o to_o all_o who_o harken_v to_o his_o counsel_n and_o obey_v his_o voice_n who_o declare_v unto_o man_n what_o be_v his_o thought_n and_o by_o his_o light_n make_v manifest_v the_o secret_n of_o the_o heart_n and_o reprove_v the_o deed_n
to_o rule_v and_o reign_v according_a to_o his_o promise_n make_v by_o the_o mouth_n of_o his_o prophet_n in_o age_n past_a to_o which_o nation_n must_v bow_v and_o bend_v and_o become_v subject_a i_o tell_v you_o plain_o and_o true_o that_o if_o this_o be_v your_o expectation_n which_o your_o proceed_n give_v i_o cause_n to_o believe_v it_o be_v you_o will_v certain_o fail_v therein_o and_o god_n will_v assure_o frustrate_v these_o your_o expectation_n and_o by_o this_o very_a way_n and_o mean_n that_o you_o take_v to_o suppress_v and_o root_v out_o the_o people_n of_o god_n from_o have_v a_o be_v among_o you_o even_o thereby_o you_o will_v provoke_v the_o lord_n to_o root_v out_o you_o if_o you_o persist_v therein_o wherefore_o beware_v lest_o that_o which_o you_o think_v and_o expect_v to_o bring_v upon_o the_o people_n of_o god_n be_v by_o the_o hand_n of_o god_n bring_v upon_o yourselves_o for_o be_v it_o know_v unto_o you_o the_o lord_n god_n almighty_n be_v with_o his_o people_n of_o a_o truth_n who_o you_o have_v turn_v your_o sword_n and_o power_n against_o and_o what_o be_v do_v unto_o they_o he_o certain_o take_v as_o do_v unto_o himself_o and_o in_o as_o much_o as_o you_o go_v about_o to_o suppress_v his_o people_n or_o to_o limit_v they_o in_o the_o exercise_n of_o their_o conscience_n towards_o god_n you_o therein_o be_v find_v fighter_n against_o god_n and_o thereby_o you_o go_v about_o to_o stop_v and_o hinder_v the_o work_n of_o god_n which_o will_v be_v as_o hard_a for_o you_o to_o do_v as_o it_o be_v for_o saul_n to_o kick_n against_o the_o prick_n of_o the_o witness_n of_o god_n in_o his_o own_o conscience_n wherefore_o consider_v these_o thing_n and_o remember_v that_o many_o warning_n and_o tender_a visitation_n of_o love_n the_o lord_n have_v send_v unto_o you_o in_o time_n past_a which_o you_o have_v little_o regard_v hitherto_o but_o go_v on_o exercise_v cruelty_n towards_o the_o people_n of_o god_n and_o now_o at_o this_o time_n also_o i_o be_o move_v and_o it_o be_v upon_o my_o heart_n by_o the_o spirit_n of_o the_o lord_n to_o lay_v these_o thing_n before_o you_o and_o to_o tell_v you_o in_o plainness_n what_o the_o lord_n will_v do_v and_o bring_v to_o pass_v in_o despite_n of_o all_o that_o you_o can_v do_v who_o seek_v to_o oppose_v he_o for_o notwithstanding_o the_o many_o law_n and_o decree_n which_o you_o have_v make_v or_o shall_v make_v yet_o the_o work_n of_o the_o lord_n which_o he_o have_v certain_o begin_v that_o shall_v go_v on_o and_o increase_v and_o the_o truth_n must_v flourish_v and_o prosper_v and_o spread_v forth_o itself_o and_o the_o kingdom_n of_o the_o world_n must_v become_v the_o kingdom_n of_o our_o lord_n and_o of_o his_o christ_n according_a to_o his_o promise_n and_o they_o that_o will_v not_o bow_v unto_o his_o thorn_n and_o government_n who_o be_v king_n of_o king_n who_o right_a it_o be_v to_o rule_v in_o the_o conscience_n of_o people_n and_o to_o bear_v the_o government_n there_o and_o to_o exercise_v they_o in_o matter_n of_o worship_n towards_o god_n but_o will_v seek_v to_o stop_v to_o limit_v he_o in_o his_o government_n there_o even_o such_o must_v and_o shall_v be_v break_v by_o he_o and_o bruise_v under_o by_o his_o eternal_a power_n the_o lord_n have_v say_v and_o speak_v it_o and_o it_o must_v come_v to_o pass_v wherefore_o friend_n be_v you_o once_o more_o warn_v that_o you_o meddle_v no_o more_o with_o the_o conscience_n of_o people_n so_o as_o to_o go_v about_o to_o limit_v they_o in_o matter_n relate_v to_o the_o service_n of_o god_n for_o it_o be_v not_o the_o place_n of_o a_o civil_a magistrate_n to_o meddle_v or_o have_v to_o do_v with_o those_o thing_n but_o leave_v they_o free_a in_o those_o thing_n to_o do_v as_o they_o be_v persuade_v in_o their_o own_o conscience_n by_o the_o light_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o the_o lord_n for_o you_o can_v give_v a_o account_n unto_o god_n for_o they_o if_o they_o do_v amiss_o but_o they_o must_v all_o and_o so_o must_v you_o also_o give_v a_o account_n unto_o god_n every_o one_o for_o himself_o and_o this_o be_v just_a and_o equal_a that_o in_o thing_n of_o this_o nature_n every_o one_o shall_v be_v leave_v to_o the_o exercise_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o the_o lord_n in_o his_o own_o heart_n because_o that_o spiritual_a worship_n consist_v in_o obedience_n to_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n and_o you_o yourselves_o will_v not_o be_v willing_a to_o be_v prohibit_v from_o or_o deny_v of_o this_o liberty_n but_o i_o dare_v say_v you_o will_v look_v upon_o it_o to_o be_v a_o very_a great_a oppression_n unto_o you_o to_o be_v restrain_v by_o any_o civil_a power_n or_o government_n from_o that_o which_o by_o the_o spirit_n and_o power_n of_o god_n you_o be_v persuade_v in_o your_o conscience_n you_o ought_v to_o do_v and_o you_o can_v not_o but_o judge_v that_o those_o who_o shall_v go_v about_o to_o lay_v or_o impose_v such_o a_o restriction_n upon_o you_o do_v do_v unto_o you_o as_o they_o themselves_o will_v not_o be_v do_v by_o and_o so_o you_o may_v well_o conclude_v that_o it_o be_v unrighteousness_n in_o they_o so_o to_o do_v wherefore_o if_o you_o serious_o consider_v whether_o this_o unrighteousness_n and_o oppression_n be_v not_o find_v in_o you_o i_o know_v you_o can_v but_o lay_v your_o hand_n upon_o your_o mouth_n and_o confess_v guilty_a so_o let_v my_o counsel_n be_v at_o this_o time_n receive_v by_o you_o and_o take_v my_o advice_n as_o from_o one_o that_o have_v receive_v the_o counsel_n of_o the_o lord_n and_o in_o measure_n know_v the_o mind_n of_o the_o lord_n by_o the_o revelation_n of_o his_o spirit_n as_o touch_v this_o matter_n that_o be_v this_o shake_v yourselves_o out_o of_o these_o cruel_a practice_n of_o persecute_v about_o religion_n and_o worship_n and_o lay_v aside_o these_o cruel_a imposition_n which_o be_v and_o have_v be_v lay_v upon_o the_o people_n of_o god_n by_o reason_n whereof_o many_o who_o be_v dear_a unto_o the_o lord_n have_v suffer_v very_o great_o some_o the_o loss_n of_o their_o liberty_n and_o some_o the_o loss_n of_o their_o life_n occasion_v through_o be_v thrust_v together_o in_o noisome_a holes_n and_o prison_n and_o other_o be_v obnoxious_a to_o exilement_n from_o their_o wife_n and_o child_n and_o from_o their_o native_a country_n and_o dear_a relation_n and_o no_o evil_a at_o all_o just_o charge_v against_o any_o of_o these_o for_o which_o these_o cruel_a suffering_n be_v inflict_v upon_o they_o it_o be_v only_o for_o worship_v god_n in_o spirit_n that_o these_o suffering_n be_v sustain_v by_o they_o that_o be_v the_o great_a charge_n that_o have_v be_v by_o you_o at_o all_o prove_v against_o they_o and_o for_o these_o thing_n sake_n the_o lord_n controversy_n be_v certain_o great_a with_o you_o and_o while_o you_o continue_v in_o these_o thing_n through_o which_o you_o have_v provoke_v the_o lord_n to_o anger_n his_o wrath_n will_v not_o be_v appease_v towards_o you_o neither_o can_v your_o government_n be_v establish_v in_o safety_n nor_o you_o can_v establish_v yourselves_o in_o safety_n and_o security_n for_o fear_n will_v surprise_v you_o while_o you_o go_v on_o in_o these_o practice_n because_o of_o the_o gild_n that_o be_v upon_o your_o conscience_n and_o although_o we_o can_v neither_o do_v we_o desire_v to_o make_v outward_a opposition_n against_o you_o by_o plotting_n and_o insurrection_n etc._n etc._n out_o of_o which_o thing_n god_n almighty_a have_v redeem_v we_o and_o have_v bring_v we_o into_o his_o covenant_n of_o peace_n and_o unto_o his_o mountain_n of_o holiness_n where_o nothing_o hurt_v nor_o destroy_v yet_o we_o know_v that_o the_o lord_n be_v with_o we_o and_o be_v on_o our_o side_n and_o take_v our_o part_n and_o will_v plead_v our_o cause_n and_o fight_v for_o we_o and_o he_o be_v strong_a than_o you_o all_o and_o his_o power_n be_v above_o you_o and_o our_o trust_n and_o confidence_n be_v in_o he_o alone_o and_o not_o in_o the_o arm_n of_o flesh_n and_o it_o be_v in_o vain_a for_o you_o to_o strive_v against_o he_o or_o to_o oppose_v or_o resist_v he_o for_o he_o will_v in_o the_o end_n be_v too_o hard_a for_o you_o and_o will_v break_v you_o to_o piece_n as_o a_o potter_n vessel_n of_o clay_n except_o you_o repent_v and_o now_o friend_n there_o be_v but_o one_o only_a way_n by_o which_o you_o may_v or_o can_v possible_o escape_v and_o prevent_v the_o dreadful_a judgement_n of_o the_o lord_n or_o by_o which_o his_o anger_n may_v be_v appease_v which_o be_v kindle_v against_o you_o and_o that_o be_v this_o to_o humble_v yourselves_o before_o the_o lord_n and_o to_o repent_v of_o the_o evil_a of_o your_o do_n and_o to_o loose_v the_o band_n of_o iniquity_n and_o
provoke_v to_o visit_v thou_o with_o these_o his_o just_a and_o sore_a judgement_n oh_o england_n england_n what_o lamentation_n shall_v i_o take_v up_o for_o thou_o for_o who_o the_o lord_n have_v do_v so_o great_a thing_n not_o only_o in_o give_v of_o thou_o such_o fullness_n of_o temporal_a blessing_n and_o benefit_n for_o the_o end_n before_o express_v which_o thou_o have_v abuse_v as_o herein_o be_v signify_v but_o over_o and_o above_o all_o this_o he_o manifest_v his_o eternal_a power_n in_o the_o midst_n of_o thou_o and_o thereby_o wrought_v miraculous_o in_o the_o heart_n of_o a_o remnant_n of_o thy_o inhabitant_n to_o who_o he_o make_v know_v the_o mysterious_a way_n which_o the_o vulturous_a eye_n never_o see_v which_o lead_v to_o life_n and_o salvation_n and_o who_o he_o make_v choice_n of_o to_o be_v a_o kind_n of_o first_o fruit_n unto_o himself_o in_o these_o latter_a day_n and_o who_o he_o separate_v from_o the_o aforesaid_a abomination_n in_o which_o thou_o be_v yet_o involve_v and_o raise_v they_o up_o to_o be_v example_n of_o holiness_n and_o righteousness_n and_o godliness_n of_o conversation_n and_o to_o bear_v testimony_n and_o cry_v against_o thy_o unrighteous_a and_o ungodly_a way_n and_o also_o put_v into_o their_o heart_n by_o his_o spirit_n to_o tell_v of_o his_o power_n which_o he_o have_v reveal_v in_o they_o and_o to_o proclaim_v his_o mighty_a day_n at_o hand_n in_o which_o he_o will_v judge_v the_o inhabitant_n of_o the_o land_n in_o righteousness_n and_o also_o he_o warn_v we_o to_o warn_v thy_o inhabitant_n to_o repent_v and_o we_o cry_v aloud_o in_o thy_o street_n in_o thy_o steeple_n house_n and_o in_o thy_o market_n as_o thy_o inhabitant_n well_o know_v and_o we_o tell_v they_o of_o the_o dreadful_a day_n of_o god_n judgement_n at_o hand_n to_o come_v upon_o all_o who_o live_v and_z continue_v in_o the_o aforesaid_a abomination_n that_o so_o they_o may_v have_v return_v to_o the_o lord_n and_o have_v come_v to_o walk_v in_o the_o light_n of_o his_o son_n wherewith_o they_o be_v enlighten_v that_o so_o thereby_o they_o may_v have_v be_v lead_v out_o of_o the_o aforesaid_a abomination_n and_o work_v of_o darkness_n and_o so_o have_v escape_v the_o judgement_n threaten_v but_o instead_o of_o harken_v to_o the_o voice_n of_o wisdom_n which_o cry_v in_o the_o street_n thy_o inhabitant_n reject_v her_o counsel_n and_o despise_v all_o her_o reproof_n and_o despiteful_o use_v the_o messenger_n of_o the_o lord_n who_o he_o send_v unto_o thou_o and_o cast_v they_o into_o holes_n and_o prison_n in_o which_o they_o have_v outward_o perish_v who_o righteous_a blood_n yet_o lie_v at_o thy_o door_n which_o god_n will_v certain_o take_v vengeance_n for_o and_o so_o far_o have_v thou_o be_v o_o england_n from_o take_v warn_v or_o example_n by_o those_o who_o god_n thus_o raise_v up_o within_o thy_o border_n and_o send_v to_o warn_v thou_o that_o even_o thy_o ruler_n with_o the_o advice_n and_o counsel_n of_o thy_o chief_a priest_n and_o prophet_n have_v make_v divers_a law_n and_o decree_n by_o which_o they_o have_v endeavour_v to_o stop_v and_o limit_v this_o work_n of_o the_o almighty_a which_o by_o his_o mighty_a power_n he_o have_v begin_v in_o the_o heart_n of_o his_o remnant_n which_o he_o have_v raise_v up_o to_o be_v a_o peculiar_a people_n unto_o himself_o within_o thy_o border_n and_o as_o though_o all_o thy_o aforesaid_a abomination_n be_v too_o little_a and_o that_o thou_o may_v yet_o add_v thereunto_o how_o have_v thy_o ruler_n abuse_v the_o power_n which_o god_n commit_v to_o they_o and_o entrust_v they_o withal_o in_o tolerate_v all_o those_o licentious_a practice_n which_o daily_o have_v abound_v in_o thy_o street_n and_o in_o suffer_v the_o wicked_a and_o evil-doer_n to_o go_v unpunished_a and_o in_o turn_v their_o sword_n against_o the_o innocent_a and_o to_o persecute_v the_o harmless_a people_n of_o the_o lord_n for_o the_o exercise_n of_o their_o pure_a conscience_n towards_o he_o in_o matter_n relate_v to_o his_o worship_n and_o in_o take_v upon_o they_o to_o lord_n over_o the_o conscience_n of_o man_n the_o seat_n of_o god_n have_v they_o not_o herein_o great_o abuse_v the_o power_n commit_v to_o they_o and_o intrude_v into_o the_o prerogative_n of_o god_n oh_o great_a presumption_n and_o usurpation_n indeed_o a_o sin_n which_o shall_v not_o go_v unpunished_a by_o the_o judge_n but_o oh_o that_o they_o have_v hearken_v and_o take_v warn_v in_o time_n that_o so_o they_o may_v have_v be_v heal_v but_o now_o it_o will_v go_v hard_a with_o many_o of_o they_o for_o god_n will_v certain_o be_v avenge_v for_o this_o thing_n for_o be_v it_o not_o justice_n in_o he_o to_o dis-throne_n such_o who_o will_v thrust_v themselves_o into_o his_o throne_n and_o so_o presumptious_o to_o entrench_v upon_o his_o prerogative_n again_o consider_v how_o many_o and_o great_a have_v the_o suffering_n be_v that_o have_v be_v sustain_v by_o we_o who_o god_n raise_v up_o in_o the_o midst_n of_o thou_o oh_o england_n to_o bear_v testimony_n unto_o his_o name_n and_o against_o thy_o traditional_a worship_n and_o dead_a form_n and_o outside_n profession_n with_o the_o rest_n of_o thy_o abomination_n even_o by_o reason_n of_o the_o law_n and_o decree_n which_o thy_o ruler_n have_v make_v against_o we_o and_o sometime_o without_o they_o also_o and_o how_o oft_o have_v we_o be_v thrust_v together_o into_o noisome_a prison_n and_o have_v suffer_v all_o kind_n of_o abuse_n as_o sock_v stoning_n whip_v knock_v down_o some_o kill_v in_o the_o street_n and_o steeple-house_n and_o in_o our_o peaceable_a meeting_n where_o we_o be_v gather_v only_o to_o worship_n god_n in_o spirit_n and_o thus_o evil_o have_v thou_o requite_v the_o lord_n and_o his_o people_n for_o his_o and_o their_o love_n and_o good_a will_n unto_o thou_o that_o thou_o have_v account_v they_o not_o worthy_a to_o have_v a_o be_v within_o thy_o border_n but_o in_o thy_o decree_n make_v against_o they_o thou_o have_v design_v their_o exilement_n and_o extirpation_n from_o among_o thy_o inhabitant_n although_o according_a to_o the_o law_n of_o god_n and_o nature_n we_o and_z those_o who_o thy_o ruler_n have_v already_o banish_v and_o expose_v to_o the_o hardship_n and_o difficulty_n which_o the_o sea_n and_o foreign_a country_n afford_v have_v as_o just_a a_o right_a as_o themselves_o here_o to_o have_v continue_v in_o the_o land_n of_o our_o nativity_n and_o to_o have_v enjoy_v the_o liberty_n of_o their_o conscience_n in_o the_o service_n and_o worship_n of_o god_n together_o with_o all_o other_o temporal_a benefit_n and_o comfort_n which_o god_n have_v afford_v unto_o they_o as_o wife_n child_n and_o estate_n etc._n etc._n and_o thy_o ruler_n shall_v one_o day_n know_v that_o it_o be_v as_o great_a unrighteousness_n in_o they_o to_o prison_n persecute_v and_o banish_v we_o for_o the_o exercise_n of_o our_o conscience_n towards_o god_n as_o they_o can_v conceive_v it_o will_v be_v for_o other_o to_o prison_n banish_v and_o persecute_v they_o for_o the_o exercise_n of_o their_o conscience_n if_o the_o lord_n shall_v bring_v they_o under_o wherefore_o let_v they_o consider_v whether_o or_o no_o they_o do_v by_o we_o as_o themselves_o will_v be_v do_v by_o and_o whether_o they_o be_v not_o find_v transgressor_n of_o the_o law_n of_o christ_n well_o but_o all_o this_o be_v but_o as_o a_o hint_n of_o what_o may_v be_v mention_v of_o the_o abomination_n that_o be_v find_v in_o thou_o oh_o england_n yet_o hereby_o thou_o may_v perceive_v whether_o or_o no_o thy_o sin_n do_v not_o exceed_v the_o sin_n of_o sodom_n who_o god_n destroy_v in_o his_o displeasure_n and_o whether_o thy_o iniquity_n do_v not_o surmount_v the_o iniquity_n of_o gomorrah_n certain_o if_o god_n witness_n may_v arise_v and_o answer_v i_o in_o the_o conscience_n of_o thy_o inhabitant_n it_o will_v make_v they_o confess_v they_o do_v and_o what_o then_o can_v thou_o expect_v from_o the_o hand_n of_o the_o lord_n as_o a_o just_a reward_n of_o all_o these_o thy_o abomination_n sure_o thou_o can_v not_o miss_v of_o all_o the_o judgement_n that_o have_v be_v pronounce_v by_o the_o spirit_n of_o the_o lord_n through_o his_o servant_n in_o thy_o street_n steeple-house_n and_o market_n and_o to_o thy_o ruler_n both_o by_o word_n and_o write_v for_o they_o must_v and_o will_v unavoidable_o come_v upon_o thou_o and_o then_o thou_o shall_v know_v that_o the_o lord_n speak_v by_o his_o servant_n who_o thou_o slight_v and_o that_o the_o most_o high_a rule_n in_o the_o kingdom_n of_o man_n and_o will_v execute_v justice_n and_o judgement_n and_o righteousness_n in_o the_o earth_n and_o then_o also_o thou_o shall_v know_v and_o confess_v that_o god_n give_v thou_o time_n to_o repent_v and_o to_o put_v away_o the_o evil_a of_o thy_o do_n from_o before_o he_o
the_o knowledge_n of_o god_n the_o purpose_n of_o god_n be_v to_o bring_v they_o into_o a_o better_a state_n which_o the_o true_a church_n in_o the_o apostle_n day_n be_v witness_n of_o for_o the_o of_o his_o argument_n appear_v and_o indeed_o its_o necessary_a that_o all_o shall_v understand_v how_o the_o scripture_n be_v able_a to_o make_v wise_a unto_o salvation_n through_o faith_n etc._n etc._n for_o the_o scripture_n here_o speak_v of_o and_o which_o christ_n speak_v of_o when_o he_o say_v you_o search_v the_o scripture_n etc._n etc._n can_v be_v otherwise_o understand_v then_o the_o scripture_n of_o the_o old_a testament_n because_o the_o other_o be_v not_o then_o write_v and_o those_o scripture_n of_o the_o prophet_n be_v they_o that_o testify_v of_o christ_n who_o be_v the_o great_a salvation_n of_o god_n and_o god_n say_v by_o the_o prophet_n he_o have_v give_v he_o a_o covenant_n of_o light_a to_o lighten_v the_o gentile_n to_o be_v for_o salvation_n to_o the_o end_n of_o the_o earth_n and_o the_o prophet_n likewise_o show_v the_o time_n when_o and_o the_o place_n where_o this_o messiah_n shall_v be_v bear_v and_o bring_v forth_o in_o that_o body_n which_o be_v prepare_v for_o he_o in_o which_o old_a simeon_n behold_v the_o salvation_n to_o wit_n the_o light_n of_o the_o gentile_n and_o the_o glory_n of_o israel_n so_o that_o the_o scripture_n of_o the_o prophet_n contain_v in_o they_o so_o many_o clear_a and_o infallible_a testimony_n of_o the_o great_a salvation_n of_o god_n and_o of_o the_o time_n and_o place_n of_o the_o appearance_n thereof_o they_o be_v able_a through_o faith_n in_o christ_n to_o make_v he_o wise_a or_o to_o give_v a_o understanding_n that_o he_o be_v the_o great_a salvation_n of_o god_n that_o be_v then_o appear_v according_a to_o the_o testimony_n of_o the_o prophet_n which_o from_o a_o child_n he_o have_v know_v and_o so_o on_o this_o wise_a come_v to_o the_o knowledge_n of_o the_o great_a salvation_n of_o god_n by_o faith_n in_o he_o he_o in_o the_o same_o faith_n do_v doubtless_o follow_v he_o as_o a_o sheep_n that_o know_v his_o voice_n that_o so_o he_o may_v receive_v life_n eternal_a which_o he_o give_v to_o his_o follower_n and_o become_v a_o heir_n of_o that_o salvation_n which_o through_o faith_n in_o christ_n he_o be_v make_v wise_a unto_o and_o so_o come_v as_o a_o sheep_n to_o be_v a_o follower_n of_o the_o true_a shepherd_n he_o own_a he_o for_o his_o only_a guide_n and_o his_o spirit_n as_o the_o only_a zule_n to_o walk_v by_o and_o to_o speak_v by_o who_o preach_a be_v thereby_o even_o with_o word_n that_o itself_o teach_v 1_o cor._n 2.13_o and_o this_o be_v that_o perfect_a rule_n which_o can_v be_v corrupt_v as_o the_o scripture_n may_v as_o j.n._n confess_v and_o so_o can_v be_v say_v to_o be_v a_o perfect_a rule_n if_o corrupt_v and_o indeed_o j.n._n be_v one_o that_o great_o corrupt_v they_o as_o he_o state_v they_o think_v thereby_o to_o prove_v they_o a_o perfect_a rule_n even_o as_o before_o show_v the_o next_o argument_n to_o prove_v scripture_n a_o perfect_a rule_n be_v that_o if_o the_o scripture_n be_v give_v by_o inspiration_n and_o be_v profitable_a for_o doctrine_n for_o correction_n for_o instruction_n in_o righteousness_n that_o the_o man_n of_o god_n may_v be_v perfect_a thorough_o furnish_v unto_o all_o good_a work_n than_o the_o scripture_n be_v a_o absolute_a and_o a_o perfect_a rule_n for_o all_o man_n to_o walk_v by_o and_o none_o other_o but_o the_o scripture_n be_v etc._n etc._n therefore_o &c_n &c_n answ_n that_o the_o scripture_n though_o not_o all_o scripture_n be_v give_v by_o inspiration_n of_o god_n i_o shall_v grant_v and_o that_o they_o be_v profitable_a as_o aforesaid_a i_o shall_v acknowledge_v but_o that_o they_o be_v therefore_o a_o absolute_a and_o a_o perfect_a rule_n for_o all_o man_n to_o walk_v by_o and_o none_o other_o as_o j.n._n affirm_v that_o i_o do_v not_o acknowledge_v but_o deny_v because_o that_o may_v be_v profitable_a to_o man_n in_o order_n to_o the_o persect_n of_o he_o to_o all_o good_a work_n which_o may_v not_o be_v a_o absolute_a and_o perfect_a rule_n for_o he_o to_o walk_v by_o and_o none_o other_o as_o for_o instance_n one_o man_n may_v be_v profitable_a to_o another_o in_o teach_v and_o instruct_v of_o he_o by_o the_o spirit_n of_o the_o lord_n to_o walk_v in_o the_o light_n and_o spirit_n of_o the_o son_n of_o god_n which_o the_o father_n have_v send_v into_o the_o heart_n that_o so_o by_o that_o spirit_n and_o the_o power_n of_o it_o he_o may_v be_v able_a to_o deny_v all_o unrighteousness_n and_o be_v furnish_v thereby_o perfect_o to_o perform_v all_o good_a wookes_z herein_o i_o say_v one_o man_n may_v be_v profitable_a to_o another_o and_o yet_o it_o can_v therefore_o be_v say_v that_o that_o man_n who_o be_v so_o profitable_a etc._n etc._n be_v a_o absolute_a and_o perfect_a rule_n for_o all_o man_n to_o walk_v by_o and_o no_o other_o for_o it_o be_v ridiculous_a so_o that_o although_o the_o scripture_n be_v profitable_a as_o aforesaid_a it_o do_v not_o at_o all_o follow_v as_o j._n n._n conclude_v that_o they_o be_v therefore_o a_o perfect_a rule_n and_o no_o other_o but_o that_o word_n light_n or_o spirit_n of_o truth_n in_o the_o inward_a part_n from_o whence_o the_o scripture_n proceed_v and_o which_o by_o the_o scripture_n we_o be_v instruct_v to_o walk_v in_o to_o hear_v and_o obey_v which_o can_v be_v corrupt_v as_o the_o scripture_n may_v that_o be_v the_o alone_a absolute_a and_o perfect_a rule_n all_o man_n ought_v to_o walk_v by_o and_o none_o other_o as_o say_v the_o scripture_n nehemiah_n 9.20_o i_o give_v they_o my_o good_a spirit_n to_o instruct_v they_o and_o this_o be_v that_o rule_n or_o leader_n which_o christ_n direct_v to_o even_o the_o spirit_n of_o truth_n which_o will_v lead_v into_o all_o truth_n joh._n 16.13_o the_o same_o the_o apostle_n direct_v to_o say_v walk_v in_o the_o spirit_n and_o you_o shall_v not_o fulfil_v the_o lust_n of_o the_o flesh_n mark_v what_o more_o perfect_a rule_n can_v be_v then_o that_o which_o keep_v from_o the_o fulfil_n the_o lust_n which_o bring_v forth_o sin_n for_o if_o the_o lust_n be_v not_o obey_v and_o fulfil_v the_o sin_n be_v not_o act_v therefore_o say_v the_o apostle_n he_o that_o abide_v in_o he_o sin_v not_o by_o all_o which_o it_o appear_v that_o j.n._n have_v not_o prove_v that_o the_o scripture_n be_v a_o perfect_a rule_n and_o none_o other_o neither_o do_v the_o scripture_n any_o where_n testify_v of_o themselves_o as_o a_o perfect_a rule_n exclude_v all_o other_o but_o frequent_o bear_v testimony_n unto_o that_o one_o ancient_a stand_a rule_n which_o be_v from_o rhe_n beginning_n from_o which_o the_o scripture_n be_v give_v forth_o and_o which_o they_o direct_v unto_o again_o say_v j._n n._n pag._n 26._o for_o further_a confirmation_n of_o this_o truth_n i_o shall_v add_v some_o few_o argument_n more_o that_o the_o new_a testament_n way_n be_v a_o perfect_a rule_n for_o all_o man_n to_o walk_v by_o and_o none_o other_o answ_n this_o whole_o alter_v the_o case_n for_o it_o be_v not_o the_o new_a testament_n way_n be_v a_o perfect_a rule_n etc._n etc._n that_o we_o be_v contend_v against_o neither_o will_v his_o prove_v the_o new_a testament_n way_n to_o be_v a_o perfect_a rule_n at_o all_o prove_v the_o scripture_n delight_n be_v with_o the_o son_n of_o man_n again_o if_o the_o spirit_n in_o the_o saint_n be_v as_o j._n n._n to_o the_o wound_n of_o his_o own_o cause_n say_v of_o the_o same_o nature_n tendency_n and_o power_n with_o the_o father_n and_o son_n then_o there_o be_v a_o sufficient_a saviour_n in_o man_n for_o the_o tendency_n of_o the_o son_n be_v to_o save_v as_o j.n._n himself_o i_o dare_v say_v will_v acknowledge_v and_o his_o nature_n be_v to_o save_v which_o be_v the_o end_n of_o his_o come_n and_o he_o be_v of_o power_n to_o save_v for_o all_o power_n in_o heaven_n and_o earth_n the_o heart_n of_o people_n which_o reprove_v they_o for_o sin_n be_v of_o the_o same_o nature_n power_n and_o tendence_n with_o the_o father_n and_o son_n be_v sufficient_a to_o save_v else_o it_o can_v be_v say_v to_o be_v of_o the_o same_o nature_n tendency_n and_o power_n so_o that_o none_o need_v go_v far_o or_o look_v to_o the_o hill_n and_o mountain_n for_o a_o saviour_n but_o look_v unto_o he_o that_o be_v nigh_o who_o be_v of_o power_n to_o save_v even_o to_o the_o light_n or_o grace_n that_o have_v appear_v as_o a_o reprover_n of_o the_o deed_n of_o darkness_n and_o this_o will_v lead_v into_o all_o truth_n and_o save_v out_o of_o all_o unrighteousness_n and_o unto_o they_o that_o walk_v here_o in_o christ_n the_o light_n not_o after_o the_o motion_n of_o the_o flesh_n but_o after_o the_o leading_n of_o the_o spirit_n there_o will_v be_v no_o condemnation_n and_o although_o this_o god_n who_o be_v light_n and_o be_v a_o spirit_n be_v a_o god_n afar_o off_o also_o as_o be_v that_o infinite_a incomprehensible_a fullness_n that_o fill_v all_o thing_n yet_o all_o that_o can_v be_v know_v of_o he_o by_o any_o man_n be_v manifest_v within_o man_n rom._n 1.19_o and_o scripture_n and_o argue_v that_o they_o can_v be_v separate_v and_o the_o reason_n he_o give_v be_v because_o the_o scripture_n be_v the_o giving_n forth_o of_o the_o spirit_n and_o yet_o notwithstanding_o will_v say_v christ_n have_v a_o distinct_a be_v from_o his_o spirit_n which_o be_v of_o his_o giving_n forth_o and_o thus_o as_o fancy_n lead_v he_o he_o affirm_v thing_n as_o in_o page_n 43._o he_o say_v if_o scripture_n be_v deny_v to_o be_v the_o word_n of_o god_n it_o make_v void_a the_o exercise_n of_o faith_n for_o faith_n must_v be_v exercise_v in_o the_o scripture_n or_o else_o upon_o fancy_n and_o imagination_n and_o in_o page_n 73._o he_o say_v if_o there_o be_v no_o personal_a be_v of_o christ_n then_o there_o be_v no_o christ_n to_o exercise_v faith_n in_o so_o for_o a_o personal_a be_v of_o christ_n be_v not_o scripture_n and_o he_o say_v faith_n must_v be_v exercise_v in_o scripture_n or_o else_o upon_o fancy_n and_o imagination_n but_o the_o truth_n be_v he_o can_v tell_v what_o the_o true_a faith_n be_v nor_o what_o it_o be_v exercise_v in_o sometime_o scripture_n be_v the_o only_a thing_n and_o another_o while_o a_o personal_a be_v of_o christ_n and_o what_o will_v it_o be_v next_o but_o even_o what_o his_o fancy_n and_o imagination_n bring_v forth_o which_o he_o appear_v full_a of_o like_o one_o that_o know_v not_o christ_n the_o power_n of_o god_n manifest_v in_o he_o who_o be_v the_o author_n of_o true_a faith_n or_o the_o begetter_n thereof_o and_o be_v also_o the_o object_n thereof_o in_o which_o it_o be_v exercise_v and_o in_o who_o it_o stand_v who_o all_o must_v hear_v that_o receive_v the_o true_a faith_n which_o be_v the_o victory_n that_o overcome_v the_o world_n and_o which_o give_v access_n unto_o god_n in_o which_o faith_n there_o be_v peace_n and_o joy_v unspeakable_a and_o full_a of_o glory_n again_o in_o page_n 87._o mention_v that_o scripture_n which_o seem_v as_o a_o block_n in_o his_o way_n which_o i_o god_n signify_v by_o his_o prophet_n that_o the_o filth_n of_o the_o daughter_n of_o zion_n shall_v be_v purge_v away_o with_o the_o spirit_n of_o judgement_n and_o of_o burn_v isa_n 4.4_o and_o this_o be_v that_o spirit_n by_o which_o the_o saint_n be_v wash_v cleanse_v sanctify_a and_o justify_v when_o the_o apostle_n tell_v they_o they_o be_v so_o in_o the_o name_n of_o the_o lord_n jesus_n and_o by_o the_o spirit_n of_o our_o god_n 1_o cor._n 6.11_o and_o they_o that_o be_v thus_o wash_v and_o bring_v forth_o into_o this_o gospel_n purity_n they_o be_v make_v a_o habitation_n operation_n with_o who_o the_o apostle_n be_v co-worker_n and_o therefore_o travel_v for_o this_o form_n of_o christ_n in_o they_o or_o for_o the_o subject_v they_o in_o the_o faith_n whole_o unto_o christ_n government_n that_o he_o may_v reign_v in_o they_o over_o all_o who_o be_v god_n bless_v forever_o one_o thing_n more_o which_o i_o find_v in_o the_o close_a of_o his_o book_n which_o he_o
