own_o sign_n agree_v they_o can_v allow_v of_o he_o four_o in_o some_o it_o be_v envy_n they_o be_v so_o fret_v at_o the_o credit_n and_o fame_n of_o christ_n or_o such_o as_o sincere_o preach_v christ_n that_o for_o very_a envy_n they_o strive_v to_o destroy_v the_o work_n of_o god_n and_o to_o disparage_v the_o progress_n of_o the_o kingdom_n of_o christ_n they_o can_v endure_v to_o see_v all_o the_o world_n as_o they_o account_v it_o to_o follow_v christ._n five_o in_o other_o it_o be_v ambition_n and_o desire_v of_o preeminence_n and_o the_o quiet_a usurpation_n of_o the_o dignity_n intimate_v in_o that_o he_o first_o instruct_v they_o as_o christian_n and_o then_o as_o subject_n and_o there_o be_v apparent_a reason_n first_o in_o respect_n of_o god_n second_o in_o respect_n of_o themselves_o and_o three_o in_o respect_n of_o the_o magistrate_n first_o in_o respect_n of_o god_n for_o we_o be_v first_o and_o chief_o bind_v to_o god_n our_o first_o covenant_n be_v make_v with_o god_n and_o we_o be_v more_o behold_v to_o god_n than_o to_o all_o the_o world_n beside_o and_o therefore_o again_o to_o respect_v his_o glory_n and_o obedience_n to_o he_o in_o the_o first_o and_o chief_a place_n second_o in_o respect_n of_o ourselves_o and_o our_o own_o profit_n we_o must_v study_v god_n law_n as_o well_o as_o the_o law_n of_o man_n yea_o with_o our_o first_o and_o chief_a not_o protect_v we_o against_o the_o breach_n of_o god_n law_n but_o the_o hand_n of_o god_n may_v pursue_v we_o while_o we_o live_v and_o we_o may_v be_v damn_v in_o hell_n when_o we_o die_v for_o want_v of_o a_o religious_a life_n three_o in_o respect_n of_o the_o magistrate_n he_o shall_v have_v the_o better_a subject_n by_o it_o good_a christian_n be_v the_o best_a subject_n and_o the_o knowledge_n of_o religion_n and_o god_n word_n make_v man_n obey_v not_o for_o fear_n or_o custom_n but_o for_o conscience_n sake_n and_o for_o fear_n of_o god_n displeasure_n and_o beside_o it_o make_v man_n humble_a and_o charitable_a humble_a not_o to_o think_v themselves_o too_o good_a to_o obey_v and_o charitable_a in_o not_o suspect_v the_o meaning_n of_o prince_n further_o than_o they_o must_v needs_o and_o it_o restrain_v the_o excessive_a proneness_n of_o man_n nature_n that_o be_v without_o religion_n apt_a to_o speak_v evil_a of_o those_o that_o be_v in_o authority_n and_o chief_o because_o true_a religion_n will_v make_v man_n pray_v hearty_o to_o god_n for_o their_o governor_n and_o god_n himself_o do_v spare_v or_o bless_v they_o the_o rather_o for_o the_o prayer_n of_o the_o righteous_a the_o use_n shall_v be_v to_o inform_v and_o teach_v all_o sort_n of_o man_n to_o take_v heed_n of_o separate_v what_o god_n have_v join_v together_o it_o be_v a_o extreme_a folly_n to_o give_v unto_o caesar_n what_o be_v due_a to_o caesar_n and_o not_o to_o give_v unto_o god_n what_o be_v due_a to_o god_n and_o so_o it_o be_v to_o give_v unto_o god_n what_o be_v due_a to_o god_n if_o man_n can_v do_v it_o and_o not_o to_o give_v to_o caesar_n what_o be_v due_a to_o caesar._n the_o respect_n of_o god_n law_n shall_v make_v we_o more_o careful_a to_o observe_v man_n law_n and_o contrariwise_o it_o be_v a_o fearful_a case_n that_o many_o live_v in_o that_o think_v they_o have_v do_v enough_o if_o they_o live_v in_o obedience_n in_o respect_n of_o the_o authority_n man_n so_o rest_v in_o observe_v the_o just_a law_n of_o man_n as_o not_o to_o be_v so_o forward_a and_o busy_a about_o the_o duty_n of_o religion_n further_o a_o question_n may_v be_v here_o ask_v why_o the_o duty_n of_o magistrate_n be_v not_o here_o set_v down_o as_o well_o as_o the_o duty_n of_o subject_n i_o answer_v that_o in_o those_o time_n of_o the_o apostle_n the_o magistrate_n be_v without_o so_o far_o from_o be_v christian_n that_o they_o do_v for_o the_o most_o part_n persecute_v that_o way_n and_o therefore_o they_o do_v avoid_v meddle_v or_o undertake_v to_o teach_v they_o meat_n garment_n day_n or_o indifferent_a ceremony_n whereas_o they_o restrain_v christian_a liberty_n that_o forbid_v the_o use_n of_o those_o indifferent_a thing_n as_o well_o as_o they_o that_o dislike_v the_o omit_v only_o in_o use_v man_n must_v take_v heed_n as_o have_v be_v show_v before_o of_o the_o opinion_n of_o merit_n worship_n or_o necessity_n to_o holiness_n or_o salvation_n which_o be_v that_o which_o be_v condemn_v by_o the_o apostle_n use_v the_o use_n may_v be_v first_o for_o humiliation_n to_o wicked_a man_n for_o hereby_o be_v employ_v that_o they_o be_v in_o live_v under_o the_o bondage_n of_o legal_a perfection_n and_o so_o discern_v not_o that_o uprightnes_n in_o the_o gospel_n be_v accept_v in_o stead_n of_o perfection_n 2._o in_o respect_n of_o the_o malediction_n of_o the_o law_n &_o so_o many_o christian_n be_v but_o as_o free_a first_o because_o they_o doubt_v of_o god_n favour_n second_o because_o though_o the_o curse_n be_v remove_v yet_o have_v free_v we_o in_o respect_n of_o right_a but_o restrain_v we_o in_o respect_n of_o use_n by_o a_o threefold_a commandment_n viz._n of_o faith_n of_o charity_n and_o of_o obedience_n to_o christian_a liberty_n and_o so_o to_o attend_v the_o inform_v &_o reform_v of_o their_o own_o heart_n that_o they_o may_v no_o long_o restrain_v their_o own_o liberty_n in_o any_o part_n of_o it_o and_o withal_o since_o in_o some_o thing_n we_o be_v not_o full_o free_v in_o this_o life_n they_o shall_v the_o more_o earnest_o stir_v up_o themselves_o to_o hope_v for_o and_o long_o for_o that_o
