and_o holy_a but_o not_o by_o our_o own_o merit_n for_o we_o must_v glory_v of_o ourselves_o as_o of_o most_o desperate_a wretch_n and_o that_o this_o may_v be_v plain_a mark_v our_o life_n consider_v our_o good_a conversation_n and_o manner_n weigh_v how_o foolish_o man_n apply_v themselves_o to_o the_o gospel_n that_o i_o be_o almost_o in_o doubt_n whether_o i_o shall_v preach_v any_o more_o or_o no._n for_o as_o soon_o as_o these_o thing_n be_v teach_v in_o a_o sermon_n that_o salvation_n consist_v not_o in_o our_o work_n or_o life_n but_o in_o the_o gift_n of_o god_n every_o one_o be_v slow_a to_o do_v good_a no_o man_n will_v live_v a_o honest_a life_n and_o be_v any_o more_o obedient_a they_o false_o affirm_v every_o where_n that_o good_a work_n be_v inhibit_v nevertheless_o god_n require_v of_o we_o that_o we_o lead_v a_o honest_a life_n outward_o and_o he_o that_o do_v not_o so_o shall_v at_o length_n find_v his_o due_a punishment_n now_o if_o it_o happen_v that_o we_o live_v godly_o and_o honest_o outward_o satan_n by_o and_o by_o frame_v his_o wickedness_n neither_o do_v i_o know_v at_o this_o day_n how_o to_o order_v myself_o in_o this_o matter_n not_o because_o of_o my_o own_o person_n but_o because_o of_o life_n for_o if_o we_o preach_v of_o a_o honest_a and_o godly_a life_n the_o world_n by_o &_o by_o furious_o attempt_v without_o judgement_n life_n judgement_n they_z endeavour_n by_o their_o good_a work_n to_o attain_v to_o salvation_n we_o must_v neither_o presume_v of_o good_a work_n nor_o neglect_v to_o lead_v a_o godly_a life_n to_o build_v ladder_n to_o heaven_n which_o god_n neither_o can_v neither_o will_n by_o any_o mean_n suffer_v again_o a_o dishonest_a and_o ignominious_a life_n do_v not_o become_v christian_n neither_o do_v a_o delicate_a life_n become_v they_o what_o therefore_o must_v we_o then_o do_v they_z which_o have_v respect_n only_o to_o a_o honest_a and_o fair_a life_n it_o be_v better_o for_o they_o to_o be_v adulterer_n and_o adulteress_n and_o altogether_o to_o wallow_v in_o the_o mire_n and_o yet_o notwithstanding_o god_n will_v not_o have_v we_o to_o lead_v our_o life_n filthy_o and_o dishonest_o for_o neither_o can_v he_o suffer_v that_o adiudging_a thou_o even_o unto_o hell_n therefore_o if_o thou_o so_o do_v and_o if_o thou_o lead_v a_o honest_a life_n thou_o will_v stick_v in_o it_o and_o arrogate_v unto_o thyself_o which_o again_o he_o can_v not_o suffer_v thou_o must_v therefore_o so_o provide_v that_o thou_o remain_v in_o the_o middle_a path_n decline_v neither_o to_o the_o right_a hand_n nor_o to_o the_o left_a and_o that_o thou_o lead_v a_o quiet_a fair_a and_o amiable_a life_n in_o the_o sight_n of_o the_o world_n which_o also_o may_v be_v acceptable_a before_o god_n and_o yet_o that_o thou_o do_v not_o therefore_o so_o great_o esteem_v it_o nor_o count_v so_o of_o it_o as_o though_o thou_o do_v merit_v any_o thing_n of_o god_n thereby_o thus_o a_o christian_a continue_v the_o holy_a servant_n of_o god_n without_o fear_n not_o by_o his_o good_a work_n and_o holy_a life_n but_o by_o the_o grace_n of_o christ_n work_n blasphemous_a to_o affirm_v ourselves_o holy_a by_o our_o work_n but_o he_o that_o affirm_v that_o he_o be_v holy_a by_o his_o work_n be_v blasphemous_a against_o god_n rob_v god_n of_o his_o honour_n and_o deni_v christ_n for_o who_o it_o be_v better_a that_o he_o be_v ten_o time_n a_o homicide_n or_o a_o adulterer_n then_o that_o he_o shall_v thereby_o affirm_v himself_o to_o be_v a_o christian_n yea_o godly_a and_o holy_a for_o he_o do_v against_o the_o devil_n and_o to_o bear_v his_o assault_n than_o that_o profane_a and_o blockishe_a common_a sort_n know_v and_o understand_v that_o we_o may_v know_v well_o the_o manner_n how_o to_o fight_v with_o the_o devil_n and_o to_o bear_v his_o assault_n as_o often_o as_o he_o shall_v set_v upon_o we_o &_o dispute_v with_o we_o out_o of_o moses_n with_o who_o when_o he_o go_v about_o such_o thing_n we_o must_v not_o dispute_v in_o many_o word_n but_o must_v forthwith_o appeal_v from_o moses_n to_o christ_n and_o cleave_v to_o he_o for_o all_o his_o travaills_n &_o deceit_n tend_v shall_v feel_v nevertheless_o so_o that_o we_o keep_v the_o principal_a part_n of_o our_o faith_n sincere_a and_o the_o chief_a point_n safe_a outward_o i_o will_v willing_o do_v and_o suffer_v what_o burden_n soever_o it_o shall_v lay_v upon_o i_o behold_v he_o that_o understand_v this_o art_n well_o shall_v be_v a_o right_n and_o perfect_a man_n as_o christ_n be_v so_o far_o above_o all_o law_n without_o the_o law_n and_o yet_o in_o the_o mean_a season_n fulfil_v all_o law_n furthermore_o be_v obstinate_a and_o stout_a against_o all_o that_o will_v enforce_v and_o constrain_v he_o and_o yet_o notwithstanding_o of_o his_o own_o accord_n profit_n and_o obey_v all_o but_o true_o herein_o consist_v all_o the_o defect_n that_o we_o do_v never_o full_o and_o perfect_o learn_v this_o art_n the_o devil_n so_o let_v and_o hinder_v we_o that_o we_o go_v preposterous_o to_o work_v be_v too_o ready_a and_o willing_a to_o hear_v all_o thing_n whatsoever_o the_o law_n say_v at_o who_o threaten_n also_o we_o be_v not_o a_o little_a astonish_v which_o it_o have_v be_v better_a for_o we_o not_o to_o have_v hear_v again_o in_o outward_a thing_n also_o we_o give_v ourselves_o to_o liberty_n more_o than_o be_v convenient_a whereas_o the_o body_n shall_v be_v keep_v under_o &_o bridle_v with_o work_n whereby_o it_o may_v be_v compel_v to_o bear_v what_o soever_o shall_v be_v grievous_a unto_o it_o when_o as_o yet_o it_o oftentimes_o sin_v yet_o so_o that_o sin_n abide_v without_o where_o it_o must_v abide_v &_o have_v his_o moses_n who_o always_o may_v be_v never_o unto_o he_o that_o be_v skilful_a of_o this_o art_n let_v he_o give_v thanks_n to_o god_n and_o take_v heed_n that_o he_o be_v not_o too_o wise_a in_o it_o and_o that_o he_o conceive_v not_o a_o false_a persuasion_n of_o knowledge_n for_o i_o and_o my_o like_a do_v not_o yet_o understand_v it_o as_o we_o ought_v to_o understand_v it_o although_o we_o be_v most_o expert_a of_o all_o and_o have_v be_v long_v exercise_v therein_o for_o as_o i_o have_v say_v it_o be_v such_o a_o art_n as_o no_o man_n know_v but_o they_o which_o be_v christian_n to_o the_o learning_n whereof_o notwithstanding_o they_o be_v compel_v to_o be_v scholar_n all_o there_o life_n long_o wherefore_o most_o far_o of_o from_o the_o know_v hereof_o be_v those_o secure_a spirit_n who_o alone_o know_v all_o thing_n but_o who_o in_o very_a deed_n beside_o that_o false_a persuasion_n of_o knowledge_n know_v nothing_o at_o all_o and_o by_o this_o very_a persuasion_n they_o be_v far_a of_o all_o draw_v from_o this_o art_n and_o from_o the_o whole_a gospel_n neither_o be_v there_o any_o thing_n more_o grievous_a no_o nor_o a_o great_a hurt_n can_v be_v bring_v unto_o christianity_n then_o by_o these_o petty_a doctor_n and_o master_n which_o seem_v unto_o themselves_o to_o have_v some_o wisdom_n for_o they_o fill_v all_o corner_n of_o the_o world_n with_o sect_n and_o faction_n be_v such_o man_n as_o serve_v neither_o god_n nor_o man_n hear_v neither_o the_o law_n nor_o the_o gospel_n but_o contemn_v the_o law_n with_o a_o secure_a mind_n and_o loath_a the_o gospel_n with_o hear_v it_o always_o seek_v after_o new_a doctrine_n but_o true_o we_o teach_v nothing_o for_o their_o sake_n inasmuch_o as_o they_o be_v not_o worthy_a of_o our_o doctrine_n and_o be_v so_o punish_v of_o god_n that_o they_o can_v never_o learn_v it_o &_o bring_v forth_o any_o fruit_n thereby_o although_o they_o hear_v it_o therefore_o let_v we_o only_o keep_v it_o whereof_o they_o do_v take_v away_o nothing_o at_o all_o from_o we_o but_o that_o they_o hear_v a_o vain_a noise_n and_o sound_n of_o it_o and_o thus_o much_o for_o the_o first_o part_n of_o this_o sermon_n in_o which_o christ_n teach_v by_o his_o own_o example_n how_o every_o man_n ought_v to_o keep_v his_o conscience_n free_a from_o all_o disputation_n of_o the_o law_n and_o terror_n of_o the_o wrath_n of_o god_n and_o of_o sin_n now_o consequent_o i_o think_v it_o good_a diligent_o to_o consider_v this_o excellent_a and_o goodly_a parable_n of_o christ_n 15.3_o luke_n 15.3_o where_o he_o begin_v and_o say_v what_o man_n of_o you_o have_v a_o hundred_o sheep_n if_o he_o lose_v one_o of_o they_o do_v not_o leave_v ninety_o and_o nine_o in_o the_o wilderness_n and_o go_v after_o that_o which_o be_v lose_v until_o he_o find_v it_o christ_n be_v not_o only_o of_o a_o stout_a mind_n who_o will_v not_o follow_v the_o word_n and_o mastership_n of_o they_o but_o he_o bring_v probable_a cause_n also_o of_o his_o stoutness_n with_o great_a cunning_a refel_v their_o objection_n and_o stop_v their_o mouth_n so_o that_o they_o can_v murmur_v nothing_o against_o he_o moreover_o he_o convince_v they_o by_o their_o own_o example_n and_o deed_n and_o conclude_v that_o they_o ought_v for_o good_a cause_n to_o be_v utter_o ashamed_a be_v bold_a to_o speak_v unto_o he_o &_o reprehend_v that_o in_o he_o in_o so_o great_a a_o matter_n which_o they_o themselves_o do_v in_o a_o much_o less_o for_o by_o what_o mean_n can_v he_o better_a and_o more_o ready_o answer_v they_o then_o if_o he_o shall_v say_v he_o how_o christ_n answer_v the_o scribe_n and_o pharisee_n when_o they_o murmur_v for_o that_o he_o receive_v sinner_n unto_o he_o will_v you_o o_o excellent_a and_o most_o wise_a master_n command_v this_o thing_n and_o teach_v i_o to_o drive_v away_o and_o alienate_v from_o i_o miserable_a sinner_n which_o long_o after_o i_o and_o come_v to_o hear_v i_o when_o as_o there_o be_v nothing_o that_o you_o yourselves_o
now_o stand_v there_o be_v no_o place_n to_o entreat_v of_o work_n and_o integrity_n of_o life_n but_o of_o christ_n and_o his_o work_n which_o he_o do_v towards_o i_o a_o lose_a sheep_n wherefore_o if_o thou_o demand_v whether_o i_o be_v good_a or_o honest_a i_o answer_v plain_o no_o but_o if_o thou_o demand_v whether_o christ_n be_v good_a and_o righteous_a that_o undouted_o i_o be_o able_a to_o confirm_v and_o he_o i_o set_v for_o my_o goodness_n and_o righteousness_n unto_o who_o also_o alone_o i_o courageous_o appeal_v for_o in_o his_o name_n i_o be_o baptize_v of_o which_o thing_n i_o have_v a_o seal_n and_o testimony_n to_o wit_n that_o i_o be_o his_o sheep_n &_o that_o he_o be_v that_o good_a shepeheard_n seek_v his_o lose_a sheep_n &_o deal_v with_o i_o without_o all_o law_n exact_v nothing_o of_o i_o neither_o as_o moses_n urge_v trouble_v and_o force_v i_o but_o show_v unto_o i_o his_o mere_a &_o most_o sweet_a grace_n while_o he_o submit_v himself_o to_o i_o &_o lay_v i_o on_o his_o shoulder_n and_o carry_v i_o why_o therefore_o shall_v i_o fear_v the_o thundering_n of_o moses_n and_o of_o the_o devil_n when_o as_o i_o rest_v in_o his_o safe_a custody_n which_o have_v give_v unto_o i_o his_o righteousness_n and_o all_o other_o thing_n which_o hold_v and_o carry_v i_o so_o that_o there_o be_v now_o no_o more_o danger_n lest_o i_o perish_v i_o remain_v a_o sheep_n and_o deny_v not_o my_o shepeheard_n but_o repose_v myself_o whole_o in_o he_o thus_o have_v thou_o christ_n most_o love_o set_v forth_o unto_o thou_o now_o only_a faith_n be_v require_v whereof_o there_o be_v great_a need_n conscience_n a_o hard_a thing_n to_o feel_v true_a comfort_n of_o conscience_n for_o this_o doctrine_n be_v excellent_a &_o replenish_v with_o most_o sweet_a consolation_n and_o comfort_n but_o this_o be_v want_v that_o the_o use_v thereof_o be_v not_o feel_v where_o it_o ought_v to_o be_v feel_v for_o when_o the_o sheep_n go_v astray_o that_o be_v when_o a_o man_n feel_v himself_o grieve_v with_o his_o sin_n and_o can_v not_o tell_v where_o to_o abide_v and_o be_v cast_v of_o the_o devil_n into_o a_o great_a fear_n of_o mind_n than_o he_o always_o run_v unto_o the_o contrary_a neither_o can_v he_o comprehend_v or_o conceyve_v in_o mind_n that_o this_o be_v true_a all_o thing_n fall_v out_o of_o his_o mind_n which_o he_o hear_v here_o because_o of_o the_o present_a feeling_n and_o fear_n for_o the_o devil_n have_v dazzle_a his_o eye_n neither_o can_v he_o perceive_v any_o thing_n else_o but_o the_o wrath_n and_o indignation_n of_o god_n wherewith_o his_o heart_n be_v so_o burden_a that_o he_o be_v not_o able_a to_o raise_v up_o himself_o in_o mind_n and_o to_o turn_v his_o eye_n any_o other_o where_o nay_o he_o lie_v so_o drown_v in_o it_o that_o christ_n appear_v not_o otherwise_o unto_o he_o but_o as_o a_o angry_a judge_n as_o he_o have_v hitherto_o be_v paint_v out_o and_o be_v so_o beat_v into_o the_o heart_n of_o all_o by_o the_o wicked_a papist_n sit_v on_o the_o rain_n bow_n with_o a_o sword_n come_v out_o of_o his_o mouth_n for_o this_o be_v one_o of_o the_o most_o decietfull_a craft_n of_o the_o devil_n yea_o and_o of_o his_o mischief_n which_o he_o practise_v against_o the_o miserable_a sheep_n to_o dasle_n his_o eye_n that_o he_o may_v not_o know_v any_o more_o his_o own_o shepeheard_n &_o under_o a_o pretence_n of_o christ_n to_o lead_v a_o man_n to_o moses_n dispute_v as_o much_o of_o christ_n as_o he_o have_v accustom_v to_o do_v before_o of_o moses_n wherefore_o we_o have_v need_n of_o a_o strong_a &_o firm_a faith_n that_o we_o may_v believe_v these_o thing_n to_o be_v true_a when_o a_o man_n himself_o must_v dispute_v even_o against_o himself_o for_o the_o sense_n be_v vehement_a of_o itself_o whereunto_o the_o devil_n also_o come_v marvellous_o amplify_a sin_n &_o terror_n the_o greatness_n and_o anguish_n whereof_o be_v able_a to_o consume_v even_o the_o marrow_n in_o the_o bone_n yea_o and_o the_o heart_n in_o the_o body_n it_o can_v not_o therefore_o be_v perfect_o learn_v so_o soon_o as_o some_o think_v in_o prosperity_n it_o be_v easy_o believe_v that_o christ_n be_v sweet_a and_o amiable_a but_o anguish_n and_o terror_n come_v upon_o &_o over_o whelm_v the_o mind_n man_n be_v blind_a and_o without_o good_a understanding_n and_o will_v judge_v only_o according_a to_o the_o sense_n and_o understanding_n of_o his_o own_o heart_n which_o he_o follow_v and_o confirm_v himself_o in_o his_o own_o error_n for_o he_o be_v take_v therein_o and_o can_v think_v no_o otherwise_o but_o that_o it_o be_v true_a and_o nevertheless_o it_o be_v not_o true_a now_o it_o be_v a_o point_n of_o this_o art_n for_o a_o man_n thus_o to_o say_v unto_o his_o heart_n heart_n how_o a_o christian_n must_v speak_v unto_o his_o own_o heart_n if_o thou_o confess_v thyself_o to_o be_v a_o lose_a sheep_n thou_o say_v right_a but_o that_o thou_o will_v therefore_o run_v from_o christ_n and_o so_o think_v of_o he_o in_o thy_o mind_n as_o though_o he_o be_v a_o man_n which_o will_v chase_v and_o terrify_v thou_o it_o be_v a_o suggestion_n and_o tentation_n of_o the_o devel_n for_o if_o thou_o do_v right_o consider_v he_o and_o confess_v he_o as_o thy_o true_a shepeheard_n then_o will_v thou_o not_o fly_v from_o his_o sight_n neither_o will_v conceive_v terror_n in_o thy_o mind_n but_o with_o all_o cheerfulness_n and_o boldness_n will_v run_v unto_o he_o for_o sure_o he_o be_v not_o therefore_o ready_a at_o hand_n that_o he_o may_v condemn_v thou_o but_o he_o come_v to_o thou_o seek_v thou_o that_o have_v lay_v thou_o on_o his_o shoulder_n he_o may_v carry_v thou_o and_o exempt_a &_o deliver_v thou_o from_o sin_n error_n the_o devil_n and_o his_o power_n yea_o and_o call_v for_o of_o thou_o that_o he_o may_v deliver_v thou_o from_o it_o of_o who_o consider_v not_o otherwise_o in_o thy_o mind_n than_o the_o sheep_n do_v of_o his_o own_o shepeheard_n who_o of_o man_n be_v false_a and_o lie_a but_o his_o word_n be_v true_a and_o can_v not_o deceive_v wherefore_o the_o word_n alone_o be_v to_o be_v engrave_v in_o our_o heart_n and_o we_o must_v cleave_v unto_o it_o with_o a_o constant_a mind_n whereby_o we_o may_v reprove_v our_o own_o heart_n of_o lie_v for_o it_o alone_o must_v be_v true_a and_o all_o thing_n else_o that_o be_v contrary_a to_o it_o the_o flame_n of_o his_o most_o fervent_a heart_n and_o affection_n towards_o we_o show_v that_o he_o have_v exceed_o great_a care_n and_o regard_n to_o recover_v his_o sheep_n which_o alone_o leave_v ninety_o and_o nine_o he_o seek_v and_o enquire_v diligent_o for_o not_o to_o terrify_v it_o and_o beat_v it_o but_o that_o he_o may_v help_v it_o and_o have_v find_v it_o may_v bring_v it_o home_o grace_n in_o this_o life_n that_o he_o take_v away_o and_o pardon_v man_n sin_n and_o this_o be_v the_o kingdom_n of_o grace_n now_o when_o as_o sin_v with_o his_o guard_n that_o be_v satan_n death_n and_o hell_n shall_v trouble_v man_n no_o more_o then_o at_o the_o last_o the_o kingdom_n of_o glory_n and_o absolute_a felicity_n shall_v be_v gospel_n the_o kingdom_n of_o god_n be_v govern_v not_o by_o the_o law_n but_o by_o the_o gospel_n hereupon_o it_o follow_v first_o that_o the_o kingdom_n of_o god_n be_v rule_v or_o govern_v by_o no_o law_n no_o not_o by_o the_o law_n of_o god_n much_o less_o by_o the_o law_n of_o man_n but_o only_o by_o the_o gospel_n and_o faith_n in_o god_n by_o which_o heart_n be_v purify_v comfort_v and_o quiet_v while_o that_o the_o holy_a ghost_n pour_v thing_n he_o will_v and_o desire_v the_o same_o thing_n he_o seek_v and_o love_v the_o same_o thing_n that_o god_n do_v neither_o stand_v the_o case_n otherwise_o here_o than_o it_o do_v between_o two_o friend_n which_o bear_v good_a will_v one_o to_o a_o other_o and_o agree_v one_o with_o a_o other_o in_o all_o thing_n hereof_o it_o come_v that_o a_o man_n in_o this_o kingdom_n of_o god_n be_v belong_v to_o be_v with_o child_n and_o to_o bring_v forth_o that_o be_v to_o do_v the_o part_n of_o a_o mother_n see_v therefore_o that_o marie_n be_v a_o mother_n in_o deed_n she_o be_v right_o call_v a_o woman_n for_o she_o bring_v forth_o fruit_n unto_o we_o which_o belong_v to_o a_o mother_n and_o not_o to_o a_o virgin_n although_o she_o bring_v it_o forth_o alone_o without_o the_o mean_n of_o man_n wherein_o she_o be_v declare_v both_o a_o singular_a virgin_n and_o woman_n but_o because_o it_o be_v of_o great_a importance_n to_o the_o apostle_n and_o unto_o all_o we_o that_o marie_n be_v a_o woman_n and_o thereby_o the_o mother_n of_o christ_n then_o that_o she_o be_v a_o virgin_n for_o that_o this_o be_v only_o a_o ornament_n unto_o she_o but_o in_o that_o she_o be_v a_o woman_n of_o man_n a_o virgin_n be_v conceive_v with_o child_n by_o the_o only_a mean_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n that_o be_v full_a of_o blessing_n he_o may_v derive_v the_o same_o unto_o all_o believer_n so_o be_v the_o covenant_n of_o god_n fulfil_v on_o either_o side_n and_o it_o come_v to_o pass_v that_o christ_n become_v both_o the_o true_a seed_n of_o abraham_n and_o yet_o free_a from_o all_o contagion_n of_o adam_n and_o be_v also_o the_o author_n of_o eternal_a blessing_n to_o they_o that_o believe_v wherefore_o although_o marie_n be_v holy_o to_o be_v reverence_v by_o the_o name_n of_o virgin_n yet_o by_o no_o comparison_n great_a reverence_n be_v due_a unto_o she_o then_o by_o the_o name_n of_o woman_n for_o that_o her_o most_o holy_a member_n inasmuch_o as_o she_o be_v a_o woman_n be_v advance_v unto_o this_o dignity_n that_o they_o be_v as_o mean_n towards_o the_o fulfil_n of_o the_o holy_a covenant_n of_o god_n and_o by_o they_o he_o be_v bring_v forth_o which_o be_v to_o put_v away_o all_o curse_n from_o they_o that_o believe_v in_o he_o that_o so_o he_o may_v be_v both_o the_o bless_a seed_n of_o abraham_n and_o the_o bless_a fruit_n of_o the_o womb_n of_o marie_n unto_o which_o benefit_n the_o only_a virginity_n have_v not_o be_v sufficient_a yea_o it_o have_v be_v even_o unprofitable_a the_o four_o thing_n whereof_o the_o present_a place_n of_o the_o apostle_n do_v admonish_v we_o be_v that_o christ_n have_v satisfy_v the_o law_n for_o us._n which_o he_o also_o witness_v of_o himself_o matth._n 5_o i_o be_o not_o come_v to_o destroy_v the_o law_n but_o to_o fulfil_v it_o us._n it_o be_v needful_a that_o christ_n shall_v fulfil_v the_o law_n for_o us._n this_o also_o the_o reason_n of_o the_o covenant_n require_v for_o if_o by_o this_o seed_n work_v nothing_o that_o be_v good_a likewise_o that_o we_o can_v do_v nothing_o that_o god_n will_v approve_v unless_o we_o ourselves_o be_v approve_v of_o he_o before_o and_o see_v that_o the_o law_n require_v the_o heart_n which_o can_v not_o be_v perform_v of_o they_o which_o be_v not_o as_o yet_o regenerate_v by_o the_o spirit_n it_o must_v needs_o be_v that_o all_o the_o son_n of_o adam_n be_v of_o hypocrite_n great_a and_o weighty_a work_n they_o say_v that_o they_o have_v respect_n neither_o of_o glory_n nor_o praise_n but_o within_o in_o their_o heart_n they_o be_v full_a of_o ambition_n great_a thing_n in_o this_o gospel_n unto_o which_o all_o be_v to_o be_v refer_v hereof_o we_o ought_v to_o learn_v that_o we_o be_v not_o justify_v by_o our_o own_o strength_n neither_o save_v by_o our_o own_o merit_n but_o be_v sanctify_v by_o the_o spirit_n of_o christ_n and_o save_v by_o grace_n &_o that_o christ_n be_v the_o way_n lead_v to_o salvation_n we_o will_v discuss_v and_o examine_v this_o gospel_n throughout_o as_o god_n shall_v give_v we_o grace_n these_o word_n the_o lord_n speak_v unto_o his_o disciple_n after_o his_o supper_n when_o he_o be_v now_o about_o to_o depart_v from_o they_o forasmuch_o as_o he_o have_v say_v many_o thing_n unto_o they_o of_o his_o departure_n and_o passion_n they_o be_v after_o a_o sort_n trouble_v and_o terrify_v wherefore_o the_o lord_n begin_v love_o to_o comfort_v they_o say_v let_v not_o your_o heart_n be_v trouble_v as_o if_o he_o will_v say_v i_o perceive_v that_o my_o departure_n do_v grieve_v you_o and_o that_o you_o be_v confirm_v his_o disciple_n and_o say_v you_o believe_v in_o god_n believe_v also_o in_o
also_o for_o that_o they_o have_v see_v the_o miracle_n whereby_o he_o give_v testimony_n of_o the_o son_n and_o have_v hear_v the_o voice_n of_o the_o father_n from_o heaven_n this_o be_v my_o belove_a son_n in_o who_o i_o be_o well_o please_v hear_v he_o all_o these_o thing_n do_v great_o increase_v faith_n in_o the_o disciple_n heart_n notwithstanding_o they_o do_v not_o yet_o understand_v what_o they_o shall_v do_v and_o what_o end_n concern_v the_o matter_n of_o christ_n be_v to_o be_v hope_v for_o set_a before_o you_o a_o example_n hereof_o in_o abraham_n although_o in_o of_o faith_n our_o flesh_n mortify_v the_o spirit_n increase_a in_o the_o knowledge_n of_o christ_n and_o then_o be_v our_o flesh_n true_o mortify_v when_o we_o suffer_v the_o will_n of_o god_n to_o bear_v rule_n in_o we_o which_o be_v then_o do_v when_o we_o submit_v ourselves_o to_o his_o will_n howsoever_o he_o deal_v with_o we_o renounce_v our_o own_o this_o s._n paul_n will_v have_v we_o to_o do_v when_o he_o say_v thus_o rom._n 12_o i_o beseech_v you_o brethren_n by_o the_o mercy_n of_o god_n that_o you_o give_v up_o your_o body_n a_o live_a sacrifice_n holy_a acceptable_a unto_o on_o my_o shoulder_n to_o the_o father_n no_o other_o way_n beside_o this_o lead_v unto_o heaven_n he_o that_o walk_v not_o this_o way_n go_v out_o of_o the_o way_n from_o the_o father_n i_o also_o be_o the_o truth_n for_o i_o be_o the_o light_n which_o lighten_v the_o world_n and_o i_o teach_v true_a doctrine_n and_o make_v true_a christian_n moreover_o i_o also_o be_o the_o life_n for_o it_o be_v i_o that_o quicken_v he_o that_o believe_v in_o i_o shall_v not_o dye_v this_o as_o i_o say_v before_o be_v to_o teach_v the_o gospel_n right_o that_o be_v to_o show_v the_o true_a and_o right_a way_n which_o lead_v unto_o eternal_a life_n when_o the_o disciple_n know_v not_o the_o way_n that_o lead_v unto_o glory_n the_o lord_n make_v no_o delay_n affirm_v unto_o they_o that_o he_o be_v that_o way_n as_o if_o he_o shall_v say_v if_o you_o desire_v to_o know_v the_o way_n to_o glory_n seek_v not_o the_o strength_n light_n and_o righteousness_n of_o creature_n but_o look_v unto_o i_o for_o i_o be_o the_o way_n the_o truth_n and_o the_o life_n although_o i_o must_v be_v put_v to_o death_n although_o i_o be_o vile_a and_o of_o no_o reputation_n according_a to_o the_o outward_a appearance_n neither_o let_v this_o offend_v you_o that_o they_o which_o be_v i_o be_v subject_a to_o persecution_n the_o right_a way_n to_o the_o father_n be_v find_v in_o i_o let_v none_o remove_v you_o from_o this_o persuasion_n therefore_o he_o say_v moreover_o no_o man_n come_v unto_o the_o father_n but_o by_o i_o as_o if_o he_o shall_v say_v no_o man_n can_v come_v to_o the_o father_n by_o at_o his_o hand_n and_o look_v for_o all_o as_o well_o spiritual_a as_o corporal_a thing_n of_o he_o all_o these_o we_o must_v acknowledge_v to_o be_v receive_v by_o faith_n reason_n can_v not_o attain_v unto_o they_o for_o it_o endevour_v to_o obtain_v god_n by_o she_o own_o strength_n and_o merit_n but_o that_o endeavour_n be_v in_o vain_a wherefore_o when_o it_o be_v not_o able_a to_o come_v to_o the_o knowledge_n of_o god_n by_o she_o own_o strength_n it_o utter_o deni_v god_n and_o say_v that_o there_o be_v no_o god_n after_o when_o it_o see_v uncleanness_n in_o her_o work_n it_o despeir_v and_o be_v in_o most_o great_a distress_n but_o when_o we_o be_v justify_v by_o foolish_a preach_n we_o come_v to_o the_o knowledge_n of_o god_n the_o father_n as_o soon_o as_o we_o believe_v the_o word_n of_o christ_n and_o so_o we_o try_v the_o power_n of_o the_o father_n in_o affliction_n and_o adversity_n although_o they_o be_v even_o great_a this_o be_v shadow_v forth_o in_o that_o that_o the_o people_n of_o israel_n can_v not_o abide_v to_o hear_v the_o voice_n of_o god_n but_o desire_v that_o moses_n may_v speak_v unto_o they_o where_o christ_n also_o be_v figure_v that_o he_o shall_v make_v intercession_n for_o we_o to_o the_o father_n and_o be_v our_o mercy_n seat_n for_o nature_n be_v more_o weak_a &_o frail_a then_o that_o it_o can_v abide_v to_o talk_v with_o god_n wherefore_o he_o have_v give_v unto_o we_o this_o his_o son_n a_o mediator_n in_o who_o and_o by_o who_o we_o must_v have_v to_o do_v with_o he_o when_o as_o the_o lord_n so_o love_o
