be_v admirable_a and_o the_o reason_n unanswerable_a for_o if_o man_n be_v new_a creature_n they_o will_v certain_o live_v new_a life_n and_o this_o make_v holiness_n absolute_o necessary_a by_o the_o same_o reason_n that_o every_o thing_n necessary_o be_v what_o it_o be_v when_o it_o be_v but_o still_o we_o inquire_v after_o a_o necessary_a obligation_n to_o the_o practice_n of_o holiness_n and_o that_o we_o can_v discover_v yet_o well!_o but_o holiness_n be_v necessary_a as_o the_o mean_n to_o the_o end_n this_o indeed_o be_v something_o to_o the_o purpose_n but_o let_v we_o hear_v how_o though_o it_o be_v neither_o the_o cause_n matter_n nor_o condition_n of_o our_o justification_n mark_v the_o hypothesis_n yet_o it_o be_v the_o way_n appoint_v of_o god_n for_o we_o to_o walk_v in_o for_o the_o obtain_n salvation_n and_o therefore_o he_o that_o have_v hope_n of_o eternal_a life_n purify_v himself_o as_o he_o be_v pure_a and_o none_o shall_v ever_o come_v to_o the_o end_n who_o walk_v not_o in_o the_o way_n for_o without_o holiness_n it_o be_v impossible_a to_o see_v god_n this_o i_o confess_v be_v all_o pertinent_a and_o home_n to_o the_o purpose_n but_o yet_o there_o be_v two_o little_a fault_n in_o it_o that_o it_o contradict_v itself_o and_o overthrow_v their_o darling_n opinion_n which_o i_o can_v very_o well_o pardon_v if_o he_o can_v what_o the_o necessary_a way_n to_o eternal_a life_n and_o yet_o neither_o the_o cause_n matter_n nor_o condition_n at_o least_o you_o may_v allow_v the_o way_n to_o eternal_a life_n to_o be_v the_o causa_fw-la sine_fw-la qua_fw-la non_fw-la without_o which_o we_o shall_v never_o get_v thither_o and_o that_o in_o spite_n of_o all_o your_o distinction_n will_v entitle_v it_o to_o the_o nature_n of_o a_o condition_n but_o not_o to_o dispute_v about_o word_n i_o be_o content_a it_o shall_v only_o be_v a_o necessary_a way_n to_o eternal_a life_n but_o what_o become_v of_o christ_n then_o who_o be_v the_o only_a way_n the_o truth_n and_o the_o life_n be_v not_o the_o righteousness_n of_o christ_n able_a to_o save_v we_o without_o a_o additional_a righteousness_n of_o our_o own_o do_v the_o active_a and_o passive_a righteousness_n of_o christ_n both_o free_v we_o from_o guilt_n and_o punishment_n and_o give_v we_o a_o actual_a right_n and_o title_n to_o glory_n and_o yet_o can_v we_o not_o be_v save_v without_o walk_v in_o the_o way_n of_o holiness_n what_o become_v of_o free_a grace_n then_o be_v not_o this_o to_o eke_o out_o the_o righteousness_n of_o christ_n with_o our_o own_o to_o make_v christ_n our_o justifier_n and_o our_o work_n our_o saviour_n thus_o you_o see_v how_o man_n wrest_v and_o pervert_v the_o scripture_n to_o make_v it_o speak_v their_o sense_n and_o justify_v their_o darling_n opinion_n and_o fancy_n though_o not_o always_o with_o the_o same_o success_n for_o some_o truth_n be_v so_o plain_a and_o stubborn_a that_o they_o will_v not_o bend_v but_o must_v be_v break_v into_o the_o most_o palpable_a absurdity_n and_o contradiction_n before_o they_o can_v be_v fit_v to_o their_o opinion_n and_o then_o they_o agree_v like_o new_a cloth_n in_o a_o old_a garment_n which_o make_v the_o rent_n the_o wide_a it_o be_v easy_a to_o produce_v many_o more_o instance_n of_o this_o nature_n but_o this_o be_v enough_o to_o show_v you_o how_o dangerous_a it_o be_v to_o pre-possess_a our_o fancy_n with_o some_o arbitrary_a notion_n in_o religion_n which_o natural_o force_v man_n to_o pervert_v the_o scripture_n to_o make_v they_o speak_v the_o orthodox_n language_n to_o this_o we_o owe_v all_o those_o nice_a and_o subtle_a distinction_n which_o constitute_v the_o body_n of_o systematical_a divinity_n which_o common_o have_v no_o other_o design_n than_o to_o better_o than_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n and_o the_o scripture_n do_v yet_o they_o may_v be_v both_o retain_v so_o their_o opinion_n may_v but_o expound_v the_o scripture_n and_o add_v such_o
