god_n protect_v his_o church_n and_o people_n and_o be_v a_o wall_n of_o fire_n and_o a_o defence_n round_o about_o they_o now_o there_o be_v a_o mixture_n in_o the_o church_n as_o in_o a_o house_n of_o good_a and_o bad_a vessel_n but_o the_o godly_a be_v especial_o god_n house_n as_o for_o hypocrite_n and_o false_a professor_n they_o be_v no_o more_o in_o the_o house_n than_o the_o excrement_n be_v in_o the_o body_n they_o be_v in_o the_o body_n but_o not_o of_o the_o body_n and_o therefore_o as_o ishmael_n they_o must_v be_v cast_v out_o at_o length_n and_o as_o in_o every_o house_n or_o building_n there_o be_v some_o open_a place_n closet_n and_o some_o private_a closert_n etc._n etc._n so_o be_v it_o here_o god_n have_v his_o private_a chamber_n and_o his_o retire_a place_n which_o be_v the_o heart_n of_o every_o true_a christian_a he_o count_v it_o not_o sufficient_a to_o dwell_v in_o his_o house_n at_o large_a but_o he_o will_v dwell_v in_o the_o best_a part_n of_o it_o the_o heart_n and_o the_o affection_n therefore_o he_o knock_v at_o the_o door_n of_o our_o heart_n for_o entrance_n 20._o and_o his_o best_a child_n be_v glad_a he_o will_v reside_v in_o they_o they_o wash_v on_o the_o german_n the_o german_a sea_n etc._n etc._n it_o have_v divers_a name_n of_o the_o divers_a country_n which_o it_o pass_v thorough_a nevertheless_o there_o be_v still_o but_o one_o main_a sea_n so_o it_o be_v with_o the_o house_n of_o god_n god_n have_v but_o one_o true_a church_n in_o the_o whole_a world_n which_o spread_v itself_o into_o divers_a nation_n and_o country_n upon_o the_o face_n of_o the_o earth_n one_o branch_n whereof_o be_v among_o we_o at_o this_o day_n how_o prove_v you_o that_o quest._n do_v not_o christ_n dwell_v among_o we_o by_o his_o ordinance_n answ._n &_o by_o his_o spirit_n work_v effectual_o in_o the_o same_o if_o a_o house_n be_v not_o in_o perfect_a repair_n be_v it_o not_o still_o a_o house_n i_o beseech_v you_o let_v we_o rather_o how_o be_v that_o quest._n how_o do_v physician_n deliver_v from_o a_o apoplexy_n â—_o from_o a_o lethargâ—e_n sol._n be_v it_o not_o by_o cast_v the_o sick_a person_n into_o a_o ague_n to_o awaken_v that_o dull_a sickness_n so_o god_n to_o cure_v the_o conscience_n of_o a_o man_n when_o he_o see_v he_o in_o danger_n of_o security_n by_o those_o soul-killing_a sin_n pride_n covetousness_n ill_a work_n yet_o he_o will_v deliver_v we_o from_o worse_a work_n by_o those_o ill_a work_n austin_n say_v i_o dare_v presume_v to_o say_v it_o be_v profitable_a for_o some_o man_n to_o fall_v if_o a_o man_n be_v of_o a_o proud_a peremptory_a disposition_n or_o of_o a_o blockish_a dull_a and_o secure_a nature_n it_o be_v good_a he_o shall_v be_v acquaint_v what_o sin_n he_o carry_v in_o his_o world_n that_o he_o be_v a_o man_n of_o estate_n and_o power_n to_o do_v he_o good_a so_o it_o be_v in_o this_o business_n of_o religion_n our_o soul_n be_v carry_v to_o any_o thing_n strong_o when_o they_o be_v carry_v by_o strong_a reason_n as_o in_o this_o particular_a of_o trust_v god_n with_o our_o soul_n when_o we_o see_v sufficient_a reason_n induce_v thereto_o we_o easy_o resign_v they_o into_o his_o hand_n this_o show_v that_o popery_n be_v a_o uncomfortable_a religion_n which_o bring_v man_n to_o despair_v they_o have_v no_o reason_n for_o what_o they_o maintain_v what_o reason_n can_v they_o give_v for_o their_o doctrine_n of_o doubt_v transubstantiation_n perfect_a obedience_n to_o the_o law_n etc._n etc._n these_o be_v unreasonable_a thing_n the_o soul_n can_v yield_v to_o such_o absurdity_n it_o must_v have_v strong_a reason_n to_o establish_v it_o as_o here_o to_o consider_v godas_n a_o faithful_a creator_n etc._n etc._n there_o be_v something_o in_o god_n to_o answer_v all_o the_o doubt_n and_o fear_n of_o the_o soul_n and_o to_o satisfic_v it_o in_o any_o condition_n whatsoever_o this_o be_v the_o very_a foundation_n of_o religion_n not_o that_o any_o worth_n can_v accrue_v to_o the_o creator_n from_o the_o creature_n but_o that_o there_o be_v a_o all_o sufficiency_n in_o the_o creator_n to_o relieve_v the_o poor_a creature_n if_o a_o man_n consider_v in_o what_o order_n god_n create_v he_o it_o will_v make_v he_o trust_v god_n paradise_n and_o all_o in_o it_o be_v ready_a for_o he_o so_o soon_o as_o he_o come_v into_o the_o world_n god_n create_v we_o after_o his_o own_o image_n that_o as_o he_o be_v lord_n of_o all_o thing_n so_o we_o shall_v be_v lord_n of_o the_o creature_n they_o be_v all_o at_o his_o service_n that_o he_o may_v serve_v god_n therefore_o after_o every_o thing_n else_o be_v create_v he_o be_v make_v that_o so_o god_n may_v bring_v he_o as_o it_o be_v to_o a_o table_n ready_a furnish_v and_o not_o only_o in_o nature_n but_o in_o holiness_n have_v a_o immortal_a and_o invisible_a soul_n resemble_v god_n we_o must_v take_v god_n here_o as_o a_o creator_n of_o our_o whole_a man_n body_n and_o soul_n which_o purpose_n we_o shall_v much_o eye_n the_o sweet_a promise_n and_o invitation_n of_o the_o gospel_n allure_a we_o to_o accept_v of_o mercy_n and_o deliverance_n from_o sin_n and_o death_n as_o never_o any_o league_n between_o god_n and_o their_o soul_n to_o this_o day_n belove_a when_o once_o a_o man_n have_v alienate_v his_o soul_n from_o god_n by_o sin_n he_o have_v then_o no_o more_o command_n of_o it_o for_o the_o present_a it_o be_v quite_o out_o of_o his_o power_n now_o when_o we_o will_v commit_v our_o soul_n to_o god_n aright_o we_o must_v first_o commit_v they_o to_o he_o to_o pardon_v the_o guilt_n of_o sin_n in_o they_o when_o this_o be_v do_v god_n will_v give_v we_o our_o soul_n again_o and_o then_o they_o may_v true_o be_v say_v to_o be_v our_o own_o and_o not_o 1._o passive_a faithfulness_n be_v in_o the_o thing_n that_o we_o give_v trust_v unto_o as_o such_o a_o one_o be_v a_o sure_a trusty_a man_n therefore_o i_o will_v rely_v upon_o he_o 2._o active_a faithfulness_n in_o the_o soul_n be_v when_o we_o cast_v ourselves_o upon_o a_o man_n that_o be_v trusty_a and_o depend_v upon_o he_o the_o more_o a_o man_n know_v another_o to_o be_v faithful_a the_o more_o faithful_a he_o will_v be_v in_o trust_v of_o he_o and_o thus_o we_o must_v trust_v god_n if_o ever_o we_o expect_v any_o good_a at_o his_o hand_n and_o our_o dependence_n on_o he_o bind_v he_o not_o his_o object_n but_o upon_o the_o same_o ground_n that_o he_o commit_v his_o soul_n to_o god_n when_o he_o die_v he_o commit_v his_o estate_n liberty_n and_o all_o he_o have_v while_o he_o live_v he_o can_v never_o rely_v on_o god_n for_o great_a matter_n that_o distrust_v he_o in_o lesser_a again_o trial_o a_o man_n that_o true_o trust_v god_n will_v commit_v all_o his_o way_n unto_o he_o he_o will_v take_v no_o course_n but_o what_o he_o be_v guide_v in_o by_o the_o lord_n he_o look_v for_o wisdom_n from_o above_o and_o say_v lord_n though_o it_o be_v not_o in_o i_o to_o guide_v my_o own_o way_n as_o thy_o word_n shall_v lead_v i_o and_o the_o good_a counsel_n of_o thy_o spirit_n in_o other_o direct_v i_o so_o i_o will_v follow_v thou_o he_o that_o commit_v not_o his_o way_n widow_n in_o a_o special_a manner_n he_o double_v his_o providence_n there_o he_o provide_v for_o all_o but_o take_v special_a notice_n of_o they_o therefore_o quiet_a thyself_o they_o be_v in_o covenant_n with_o god_n and_o god_n be_v thy_o god_n and_o the_o god_n of_o thy_o seed_n also_o therefore_o if_o thou_o will_v commit_v thy_o soul_n why_o not_o thy_o wife_n child_n good_n etc._n god_n will_v be_v faithful_a steward_n in_o whatsoever_o he_o have_v trust_v they_o withal_o thou_o commit_v thyself_o and_o thy_o health_n and_o estate_n to_o god_n and_o at_o length_n thou_o will_v commit_v thy_o soul_n when_o thoudy_a unto_o he_o very_o well_o but_o what_o do_v god_n trust_v thou_o withal_o have_v he_o not_o trust_v thou_o with_o a_o body_n and_o a_o soul_n with_o a_o portion_n of_o good_n with_o place_n time_n strength_n and_o ability_n to_o do_v good_a have_v thou_o not_o all_o thou_o have_v from_o god_n as_o a_o steward_n to_o improve_v for_o thy_o master_n advantage_n if_o ever_o thou_o expect_v the_o performance_n of_o what_o thou_o have_v put_v in_o he_o be_v faithful_a in_o that_o trust_n which_o he_o have_v commit_v to_o thou_o those_o that_o have_v misuse_v
