sort_n there_o be_v some_o hearer_n who_o heart_n be_v not_o so_o hard_a as_o the_o former_a and_o who_o be_v not_o try_v by_o tentation_n and_o persecution_n as_o they_o be_v who_o heart_n seem_v to_o be_v mâ—ch_o move_v and_o deep_o pierce_v with_o tâ—e_v word_n and_o live_v in_o such_o peaceable_a time_n and_o place_n that_o they_o be_v never_o call_v to_o suffer_v for_o the_o word_n and_o yet_o all_o be_v afterward_o maâ—red_v by_o corrupt_a affection_n which_o be_v not_o yet_o mortify_v bâ—t_o still_o live_v and_o reign_v in_o their_o heart_n aâ—â—_n so_o these_o hearer_n differ_v much_o from_o both_o the_o former_a kind_n the_o first_o sort_n be_v hinder_v in_o their_o fruitfulness_n by_o the_o devil_n who_o take_v the_o word_n out_o of_o their_o heart_n the_o second_o sort_n be_v hinder_v by_o other_o man_n who_o persecute_v they_o for_o the_o gospel_n but_o this_o sort_n be_v hinder_v by_o their_o own_o carnal_a and_o worldly_a lust_n they_o differ_v from_o the_o first_o kind_n because_o those_o understand_v not_o the_o word_n but_o these_o understand_v it_o and_o will_v have_v embrace_v and_o obey_v it_o but_o that_o it_o cross_v their_o corrupt_a affection_n which_o they_o can_v not_o bridle_v they_o differ_v from_o the_o second_o sort_n because_o they_o fall_v away_o in_o time_n of_o tribulation_n and_o persecution_n these_o fall_n away_o in_o time_n of_o peace_n and_o prosperity_n those_o be_v urge_v by_o external_a mean_n come_v from_o other_o these_o be_v draw_v away_o by_o internal_a mean_n proceed_v from_o themselves_o those_o be_v hinder_v in_o their_o perseverance_n and_o fruitfulness_n through_o the_o want_n of_o good_a these_o through_o the_o have_v of_o evil_n even_o sinful_a lust_n and_o bad_a affection_n in_o their_o heart_n which_o like_a thorn_n choke_v the_o word_n which_o they_o hear_v those_o renounce_v their_o profession_n these_o keep_v their_o profession_n and_o yet_o be_v unfruitful_a these_o hearer_n be_v not_o all_o alike_o for_o though_o the_o word_n be_v choke_v in_o they_o all_o yet_o it_o be_v not_o choke_v in_o all_o by_o the_o same_o cause_n &_o mean_n in_o some_o it_o be_v choke_v by_o worldly_a care_n in_o other_o by_o the_o deceitfulness_n of_o riches_n and_o in_o the_o rest_n by_o voluptousnesse_n and_o therefore_o touch_v these_o hearer_n we_o may_v observe_v some_o thing_n in_o general_a which_o concern_v they_o all_o joint_o together_o and_o some_o thing_n in_o particular_a which_o concern_v they_o several_o the_o thing_n in_o general_a which_o concern_v they_o all_o be_v two_o whereof_o the_o one_o respect_v the_o time_n of_o their_o choke_n the_o other_o respect_v the_o cause_n of_o their_o choke_n 1._o the_o time_n of_o their_o choke_n for_o it_o be_v say_v of_o they_o heart_n be_v set_v as_o thorny_a ground_n may_v have_v some_o good_a moist_a mould_n and_o depth_n of_o soil_n and_o cause_v the_o seed_n sow_v in_o it_o to_o sprout_v and_o come_v up_o but_o afterward_o will_v not_o suffer_v it_o to_o prosper_v the_o thorn_n in_o time_n will_v choke_v it_o so_o may_v a_o man_n hear_v the_o word_n reverent_o and_o attentive_o mark_v it_o careful_o and_o receive_v it_o willing_o yea_o he_o may_v take_v it_o to_o be_v the_o word_n of_o god_n indeed_o and_o the_o only_a word_n that_o must_v save_v his_o soul_n he_o may_v wish_v that_o he_o be_v able_a be_v humble_v while_o the_o hand_n of_o god_n be_v heavy_a upon_o he_o but_o become_v as_o hard_o as_o he_o be_v before_o when_o it_o be_v remove_v and_o as_o some_o be_v sea_n sick_a while_o they_o be_v on_o the_o water_n but_o well_o again_o who_o they_o come_v to_o land_n and_o as_o the_o hard_a metal_n be_v hot_a soft_a and_o pliable_a while_o they_o be_v in_o the_o fire_n but_o become_v cold_a hard_a and_o stiff_o when_o they_o be_v take_v out_o of_o the_o fire_n so_o be_v some_o hearer_n much_o move_v while_o they_o be_v in_o the_o church_n and_o so_o long_o as_o they_o hear_v and_o yet_o afterward_o when_o they_o be_v go_v away_o and_o betake_v themselves_o to_o their_o worldly_a affair_n lose_v the_o efficacy_n of_o the_o word_n and_o become_v transgressor_n of_o it_o these_o be_v unprofitable_a hearer_n the_o word_n which_o they_o hear_v will_v not_o save_v their_o soul_n man_n may_v often_o hear_v after_o this_o manner_n and_o yet_o never_o come_v to_o heaven_n do_v not_o therefore_o content_v yourselves_o with_o these_o present_a motion_n while_o you_o be_v in_o hear_v but_o let_v they_o continue_v and_o show_v their_o efficacy_n after_o you_o have_v hear_v &_o job._n 13.2_o act._n 5.3_o he_o fill_v the_o heart_n of_o ananias_n to_o lie_v unto_o the_o holy_a ghost_n so_o also_o do_v he_o keep_v all_o manner_n of_o good_a from_o the_o heart_n by_o the_o one_o he_o will_v make_v we_o bad_a by_o the_o other_o he_o will_v hinder_v we_o from_o be_v good_a except_o it_o be_v inpray_v he_o do_v not_o trouble_v a_o man_n so_o much_o in_o any_o business_n as_o event_n that_o he_o take_v the_o word_n from_o many_o of_o our_o hearer_n for_o when_o the_o people_n have_v hear_v the_o preacher_n speak_v a_o whole_a hour_n together_o and_o deliver_v many_o profitable_a point_n of_o doctrine_n and_o that_o very_o plain_o yet_o few_o can_v repeat_v any_o thing_n at_o all_o many_o will_v say_v they_o like_v he_o well_o he_o be_v a_o good_a man_n and_o make_v a_o very_a good_a sermon_n yet_o can_v tell_v one_o word_n that_o he_o speak_v what_o be_v the_o reason_n hereof_o the_o devil_n have_v take_v it_o out_o of_o their_o heart_n and_o head_n
